Very nice place with around 6,7 tables outside and more inside. Clean and organized. Really good cupcakes and other types of pastries. Good service . Highly recommend it.

Nice little coffee shop with what looked like very tasty pastries. I took one star away simply because they did not take tap and pay. In 2021 I rarely take anything other than my phone and when everyone else takes it, it throws you to go to a place that doesnt.

Yum! The cakes here (and sandwiches) are delicious! Allie and team were so gracious to work with as we re-planned and scaled our wedding a few times due to the pandemic. The cake was beautiful and tasty and we look forward to having a small one each anniversary going forward!

This place is awesome. Never had a bad cupcake from here. I recently purchased a cake for my daughters 1st birthday, the staff was very helpful and was honest about what they could not do decoration wise and the cake was ready in time.

I dont reguarly write reviews and this one is a little late. I would give Buzz Bakeshop ten stars if I could. Terri was the absolube BEST! Her professionalism was impeccable. I live in Atlanta and was working for a client who lives in Chicago. My clients daughter lives in Alexandria who was graduating from high school. My client wanted to give his daughter and best friend a beautiful Brunch they would always remember. The cakes were just what I ordered for my client. I love this Bakery, wish I lived in VA. I would most definitely visit on a regular basis.

Great service! Patient with all my questions! Ordered the lemon bar, coconut macaroon, vegetable quiche, and turkey bacon sandwich. Everything was great. Lemon bar being really great and macaroon a little sweet. Turkey bacon was perfect and quiche mushrooms didnt fare as well when heated up, but overall was really great as well. Space has charging ports along wall and spaces for children making it a great family spot!

Buzz did a great job with the desserts for our wedding! We ordered a rehearsal dinner cake, a wedding cake, and mini cupcakes through them. We already knew we loved their desserts after they were used for our friends’ wedding a few months before ours. We worked with Katherine and Allie to coordinate a time to come into their Alexandria location to have a tasting before deciding on anything. We were blown away with the experience – partly because it was done at no cost to us.. and when you don’t even have a formal order or agreement in place, that’s very nice of them – but mostly because the amount of options we were given were so vast and everything was so delicious! For the rehearsal dinner cake, I wanted to do something custom that my husband would love. His favorite cake is banana cake with chocolate frosting. Buzz doesn’t normally have this cake flavor, so we were excited to hear they’d do a custom flavor for us! The Buzz team made a special sample for us to try and my husband loved it! I also worked with Allie to come up with a fun custom design for the outside of the cake that was specific to my husband’s interests. The cake was a fun surprise for him the night before the wedding. Everyone loved the cake and mini cupcakes at the wedding – including us! We opted for a small wedding cake for the wedding itself in lieu of saving a tier for the future. We look forward to ordering a vanilla cake with cookies and cream filling with vanilla frosting on our one year anniversary from Buzz and probably for years to come!

This place is great. I’ve order two custom cakes from here, both great experiences. Cakes came out better than expected. Definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a cake for a special occasion. Also their cupcakes are very good as well.

My daughter used to come to Alexandria Buzz Cake a lot; and recently she ordered a rustic look chocolate cake for my birthday. It’s so densely rich with chocolate I was crying for it’s goodness, and definitely for missing my baby girl on my birthday - since she lives in Manhattan now - to share the cake with... 😘😘😘

Im always skeptical of trying new coffee places because they can taste so bitter at times. This was not the case here. I ordered a dark brew hot coffee with a ham and cheese. Happy with both and the cashier, Terri, was very kind and patient as I asked a bunch of questions.

I recently ordered a cake from here and I was AMAZED. As we’re all my guests. Not only did they meet my short time frame, but it was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing! I had guests who don’t like cake asking for seconds. And that price seriously cannot be beaten. I can’t say enough good things about this place!!

Buzz did an excellent job on a birthday cake for my friend. The lemon cake itself was the pop of citrus I crave with lemon, the vanilla buttercream was excellent (this coming from someone who isn’t a big fan of icing). Thank you for going above and beyond when the person picking up the cake forgot when you closed!

This little cozy place is my favorite hideaway. Great coffee and something for my sweet lips now and then. Great place to pick up a great dessert or a fun Halloween cake! Love the good coffee and the ability to take a small pause during the busy day. There is a wonderful Russian gourmet food store next door. Fun to get two good experiences in the same location.

Good coffee, delicious pastries and cakes, tasty and varied gluten free options, open late, and friendly staff. They have a play area for little ones to keep them occupied and even board games for older kids (and adults). This is a good spot for conversation or even studying/working on your laptop. I preferred the quirky decor before they remodeled but it’s a nice place to hang out.

Picked up an after dinner treat here with my husband. I had two of the mini banana pies and hubby had the 930 cupcake. He loved his and I loved mine. We both ended up going back to get a second one of each to go. They do have a play area in the front of the store for small kids to play with toys. There is also a small parking lot (square) for customers (30 minutes parking) for the stores on the block.

Customer service and baked goods are wonderful. Terri worked with me to have a cake made, picked up by doordash and delivered to my sister as a surprise for her birthday, because she cant travel or have guests due to work restrictions.I live out of state and had to rely on the bakery team to handle all the details. Terri did a wonderful job in making sure everything was perfect on the cake and that doordash picked up the custom order. Best of all, my sister and her husband were blown away by the cake, bionic bars and blueberry scones! They told me theyve found a new sweet treat retreat:) Would absolutely recommend!

Dont see what all the Buzz is about..... came here because Lavender moon wasnt open, expecting to be disappointed because NO where and I mean NO where can top Lavender moon, cupcakes were Meh, melted and gluten-free brownie gave me a headach so definitely not using the best stuff, same thing use to happen to me when I went to that gluten-free place that got closed down in Delray, wish Lavender didnt close all the time because this definitely to me wasnt worth it. Most likely wont be back.

Great coffee, good-looking pastry and courteous service. However, food is overpriced for the size and quality. No listed prices - am I supposed to ask the employee the price of every cupcake and beverage I order or consider to order?! The cupcakes are about half the size as they should be, and, heavy and oily as they are, for the price it is just not worth it.

9:30 will always be my favorite cupcake. The carrot cake and vanilla cupcakes are super tasty too. You never know what kind of attitude youll get from the staff at this location but I dont need your friendship only your cupcakes. The last time I bought 8 cupcakes and it took about 15 minutes to put together the boxes and package the cupcakes. The lady behind me got irritated and left understandably as her presence was never acknowledged. I paid first but just waited patiently for my treats.

Buzz made my daughter’s birthday cake and it was amazing! They did a beautiful ombré yellow color with a floral pattern. And the chocolate flavor was so so good!I love this place!

I got 2 cakes for my sons 1st birthday, a smash cake and regular sized cake. Both cakes had fantastic design and flavor. My fiance and I were very pleased with the cakes overall and we found our go to place for cakes as well. The flavor is very good and fantastic butter cream. Thanks Guys!

We ordered a strawberry and lemon cake for 35 people. it was plenty for our party and everyone wanted to know where we got it from. a real hit. would get it again.

I am obsessed with their macaroons. I moved here recently from New York where theres the famous Magnolia Bakery, and Buzzs macaroons are a far better value and much more delicious than Magnolias IMO.

Super rich moist cupcakes! The Smores cupcake is more like a decadent chocolate cupcake with a graham cracker crust and a dollop of marshmallow filling. While Ive had more cupcakes resemble Smores, the cupcake was quite tasty! Im not typically a big fan of chocolate cupcakes and frosting (vanilla all the way!), but the creamy fudgy frosting was out of this world with a super moist chocolate cake.The Cookies and Cream Oreo cupcakes had a mountain of vanilla Oreo buttercream frosting on a rich chocolate cupcake and a dollop of the same cookies and cream filling inside. While it was fun to try, I wasnt really impressed with it.While both cupcakes were good, I enjoyed the Smores over the Cookies and Cream!

Amazing cupcakes. I had the carrot cake and cookies and cream. The cream cheese frosting on the carrot cake compliments the cupcake without being overwhelming. The same with cookies and cream; the cookies and cream frosting did not overpower the chocolate. Reasonable prices for gourmet cupcakes. Paid $7 for the two. Would definitely return!

Good selection friendly staff and tasty pastries . Had the vanilla cupcake with chocolate buttercream icing. Was delicious. Only thing that I didnt like was that they put sprinkles on them. So i had to wipe it with napkin to remove them. Im not a fan of how sprinkles taste so they should probably make that an option and put it on only if someone wants them.

First time visit. Staff so nice and accommodating. Terry especially. Cakes on the pricey side but looked nice. Opted for cupcakes for my event. About $3 each, however very decadent and worth it. I am a huge fan of the quiche! Something about it, Im typically dont like egg stuff but their quiche gets me every time. Cute local place to go, good place to go and meet for coffee. They have free parking as well in the lot behind the building and street parking.

Yesterday morning though the person at the front was pretty rude, and because of that I will not be returning soon. Mumbly, curt and disinterested in offering any sort of help. Who ordered the cupcakes? She asked while I was waiting for my order, but the guy wasnt paying attention and was on his phone. Sir.... sir...SIR! HELLO!!!! HELLLLOOOO! Way to talk to the guy like he was some sort of idiot and embarrass him.

So many treats that it is simply hard to pick just one! Lucky for us we didnt have to! All 6 of our family members had a sweet treat and everyone was moist and delicious! This is a dangerous shop if your trying to stay away from sweets!

Id give them five stars, but their cupcakes are noticeably smaller than before. We tried sandwich cookies, which my son and I enjoyed. My husband absolutely loved the mini cheesecake. I got one bite, which is truly telling. Hes usually much more willing to share. The macaroon was light and airy. Very different from others Ive had. Go on your payday and order away!P.S. I was waited on immediately, and they had a good selection for later at night. However, while the staff carried on quite the conversation behind the counter, the seating area in the cafe was dirty. Food on the seats and floor and dried drink residue on the tables.

Delicious desserts. Several non dairy milk options for your coffee. Vegan chocolate chip cookies are awesome! Love the indoor and outdoor seating.

Best coffee. If you like pumpkin spice latte, try it at Buzz! They make their own syrup in-house. Drink has more complex autumnflavors than Starbucks and is less sweet. Super good!!

Great little spot near Old Town. Great selection of tea, coffee, and food. When comparing it to the Buzz location in Ballston, this location has less indoor seating (a lot of outsode seating) in terms of window seating. It can also get loud in here compared to other coffee shops in the area.

A bit disappointed with my birthday cake from them this weekend. It was a chocolate sprinkles cake which was super sweet and very dry. Im thinking the cake was a couple of days old and we had to toss the majority of it. Such a shame.

One of the least environmentally friendly cafes.Get with it guys.Offer non plastic spoons, non-plastic drinking straws, and a recycling bin.Most hip cafes have 2 cups of spoons: dirty and clean. You should do more to eliminate plastic waste.

There is a nice mix of sweets and sandwiches. I had turkey and cheese on ciabatta bread. It was toasted and delicious. Prices seemed reasonable.

I promised to bring my employee something special for her birthday, and at last minute every single bakery was closed in the Area in Alexandria, including Lavender which is right around the corner. Mannnnnnnnnnn Mrs.Terri came all the way through with her cake selection and being so friendly and helping me out at last minute. I’m so elated and I can’t wait to see my employees expression.

My favorite baked good here so far, by far, is the amazing apricot/walnut pastry. (The others are great but this was superb) They also do cool latte art sometimes. I usually just get espresso (which is wonderful)... Very busy. Always people meeting up and doing work on laptops and such, so the table space fills up quick.

Buzz Bakeshop, particularly manager Catherine should be recognized for her demonstration of such professionalism and customer service that has rarely been seen by myself or my family. Ordered a cake for my daughters 21st birthday and due to an unforeseen error, Catherine went beyond what could have ever been expected and did not settle until all was right.

Excellent service. Went in on a Sunday afternoon. She was polite. We got a lemon, carrot 9:30(chocolate with chocolate glaze) and vanilla. We ate the vanilla it was soft moist and the frosting was a loght buttercream not overwhelming. My daughter who normally hates all cake actually ate this one which tells me a lot. :) If you like good cupcakes with pleasant service try them out.

Best presentation, best colors. If you like colors of the chairs and colors of the food you will love it. Very clean. Good service. VERY BAD FOOD Taste. Just lots of sugar with no taste. We have tried many things since we like the place. This place if it opens in Europe will not stay more than a week!

Great place to work for the day. Tons of people were on their laptops. Because of this I think, the wifi had a hard time supporting a video call but was fast enough for normal web browsing.

Particularly great cupcakes for those who like a slightly heavier consistency. I particularly like the cookie cupcake and maple bacon cupcake, when available. Buzzs 9:30 Club cupcake (available at the music venue in DC), is their most well known.

Delicious house made savory food and desserts. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone with a sweet tooth! And even for some good ol caffeine! Their Ceremony coffee is awesome!

Buzz Bakeshop has a nice seating area, decent coffee (I had a hot latte), and tasty treats. However, my overall experience was tarnished by a very slow internet connection and a room temperature which felt as though no air conditioner was on in the middle of July. Sitting with nothing but a tank top and jeans on, I was close to a sweat the whole time. Would come back for the mini cheesecake, but probably get it To-Go.

I used to come here a lot because of the vibe which invite people to chill and sip hot coffee. The new lay out now looks uninviting. Cupcake size seems smaller compared to before. However, the red velvet is actually really good.
