Visited this shop on a recent trip to the DC area. John was super friendly and helpful. Good selection of cigars in a great, historic town! This is the best shop to visit when in Alexandria, VA because of its long history and passion for the industry. Thanks guys!

Good customer service and good selection !

Staff were helpful, decent priceses but the entire backroom smelt like mold to me. I spent some time looking around for something to smoke and it didnt take me long to find some product that had mold on it. Unfortunately i was only able to purchase cigars that where encased in glass or metal casings just to be sure i wasnt purchasing a product that had been exposed or compromised to mold. TO THE OWNER: message me when this issue is fixed and i will return to purchase more product and remove this post.

The gentleman who helped me out was extremely professional. He was also knowledgeable about the cigars and was able to assist me in choosing ones for my partner. Its always nice to have someone who knows what they 6doing help you select items that you are unfamiliar with.

Highly recommend. Went in not knowing much about cigars in general. I wanted to get a couple of sticks for my buddies to enjoy and this place knocked it out of the park. Very pleased with the service and price.

Due to covid19 I was unable to go in the shop to look around but the gentleman was so helpful in selecting some great cigars for me..will be stopping through this week

I used to frequent this shop quite a bit when I was pipe smoking on the regular. The selection of pipes, tobacco, and cigars are very good. The service I had then was great and the person working was super friendly and helpful. The last two times Ive gone the shop was staffed by a large guy with a shaved head and he is just a jerk and was not a pleasant person to me. Very rude and irritated. Im not going to buy anything from him ever again and that makes me less likely to visit this store.

Great selection and they are very helpful

I spend a lot of time and money here. It is not the flashiest or most serious smoke shop, but it is like a second home for me. I count John and Zach among my closest friends and they really made me feel like Alexandria is a home. If this shop is made into a serious smoke shop (by removal of the Scottish merch. and the addition of comfy chairs and bigger tvs, etc) this could be one of the best shops in NOVA, especially given the location. If you need anything at this shop ask for John or Zach!

Good prices and friendly staff! Felt very welcome which was refreshing because as a young woman I often feel dismissed in cigar shops.

Was on vacation visting, my friend and i dropped in . The staff was super cool and you take a pencil write down the prices of what your getting. Very old school very old historic place with good prices n nice cigars.

Always stop in when Im by. Depending on whos working I have a great experience or ok. Could use a face lift inside to mstch the beauty of the surrounding area. Good cigars at a fair price. Someone had just smoked pot right before I entered the humidor on my last stop.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and polite. They have a great selection of pipes and tobacco as well as cigars. I will definitely go back.

I walked in only knowing what the labels of the cigars looked like. I knew I wanted to get them for my boyfriend but had no idea how I was supposed to keep them in a stocking. The gentleman who was helping me was very patient with me and answered all of my questions! I will be taking any future business there!

Good selection of cigars. They have other items there related to Scottish kilts.

They have a plethora of good options to choose from however the staff isn’t very friendly and kind of act like you’re bothering them when you need assistance.

To ALL our brother and sisters in the military beware of shopping here. We were charged 30.00 more then we purchased, and when my husband brought it to the cashier’s attention he acted stupid about the whole thing, then recharged our credit card for the correct amount. The problem is he charged our credit card twice for the incorrect amount and stated he refunded the credit card but the card was never refunded. When trying on several occasions to get this mistake corrected they were rude and basically told us it was our problem that we would have to chase down the credit card company for the refund. As military members and consumers our time is valuable and having to chase down their mistake should not be the responsibility of the consumer! Bottom line they made the mistake NOW refund the 92.00 dollars you basically have stole from us! We frequent the cigar bar up stairs, but will NEVER purchase from this store again! Ps. It’s not the money that upset us, it’s the way we were treated and how the lack of customer service doesn’t matter to them.

Good cigar and tobacco selection, reasonable prices.

Some of the staff admits to never having smoked any cigars yet tries to steer you with an opinion. This makes me highly skeptical of what they say is true.Charges on your credit card will appear as the pipe dream of al llc. Note worth mentioning as it could look like a fraudulent charge on your statement.

Im not a smoker but when there to buy a gift for a friend and I was surprised by the many options and good prices the have. The guy that works there was very nice to help me choose a good gift.

I got a cigar, but the people were crabby and not helpful. Felt like I was bothering them.

The guys at John Crouch are outstanding. Im fairly new to cigar smoking and almost every other place will never suggest a cigar under $8.00 a stick but the guys at John Crouch will ask you a few questions and suggest cigars any where from $30.00 to $2.00. They also have what seems to be every cigar known to man despite the small to medium sized walk in. Opux X, Ashton ESG, Aging Room Small Batch, Fuente Rosado, Villiager... and hundreds more.And the best part of the place aside from the perfectly maintain humidor are the stories everyone there is quick to share.
