This is my main Home Depot I go to the Northern Virginia area. It usually has any home improvement or household item that I need for my place. My only issue is sometimes the staff is busy handling other customers questions to answer my personal question. Definitely one of top stores in the area in my opinion. I would recommend you come experience this store yourself.

This review is solely for the flooring department of the Alexandria Home Depot. To make a long story short, I essentially paid them $170 for wasting my time and being verbally abused by an employee at this location. If there is a problem with your order, it is nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone. In the end, I had to physically go to this location, taking time off work to speak about what I viewed as an error in my refund at which point (after much waiting, I was confronted by an employee of the flooring department); I asked to speak to the manager, he/she was too busy to speak with me and did not follow-up with a phone call as requested. I will not shop at Home Depot again. If by some wild chance a Home Depot employee is reading this and interested in reviewing their employee conduct I encourage them to view the Home Depot in-store footage at the customer service desk at around 10:30 am on September 15, 2021 to see a representative of their store verbally and aggressively confronting a customer.

Terrible customer service. Employees are not aware of the store policies and tell you anything just to finish the sale. I was disrespected, accused of being a liar, and hung up on by a MANAGER. Extremely thankful for the 1 good member of their team (Manny-I believe) who was polite and capable of correcting my issue. Not sure if threatening to file an HR complaint had anything to do with it but it will be the last time I ever shot at Home Depot of Alexandria. Springfield is far more polite and actually treat the customers with respect.....If only there was a different home improvement store nearby.

This is the best Home Depot! I’m super impressed by the staff dedication to the customers. I just had a gentleman help me find an item, which was nowhere to be found. It took him some time, but he went to find another person to help and searched for it until they found it. It was stored in a different location then it was supposed to! But the associate didn’t give up and kept looking, in an attempt to help me. I can’t tell you how many times in other Home Depot stores, I’d ask about an item, the associate would not find it and would simple shrug their shoulders and say “well, if it’s not here, I guess we just don’t have it” and walks away. But not this guy!!! Very happy with the service here!!!

It was great when I went it was a young lady there and doing a self check out her name is Vlunia (I think or something like that.), she was awesome. I had forgotten some sharpies and I asked her did she know where they were she looked it up on her handheld device and told me that they were an aisle 71. She said it that she would watch my basket while I went and got the sharpies and I checked out and she had my car ready to go. That is how customer service is theyre helpful theyre willing to help you so she is awesome and home depot is lucky to have her. Those types of people are customer service that makes you want to go into home depot and buy more stuff because you are a valued customer.

Brian in the paint department is amazing! He was so helpful in helping us with going the extra mile to help understand the best paints for different projects we have going on in our home. Home Depot has a great employee in Brian !

I have called, repeatedly, to try to reach the Garden Center, at Home Depot, on South Pickett Street, but no one, absolutely no one, ever answers the phone. Even trying to find someone live to speak to is virtually impossible. This Home Depot is a good store, but their phone system might as well be completely shut off as calling the store is a total waste of time.

Found everything easy, store layout was great. Parking spaces close to store are open and plenty full. Sale staff was helpful in directing me to isle i needed and very important the bathrooms at this store were very clean.

My go-to hardware store. Ive never been disappointed when shopping for needed home improvement items. The staff is courteous and efficient.

I was having trouble trying to figure out which halogen lightbulb that I needed. Fortunately, Carl was extremely helpful in locating and finding the exact bulb that I needed. I then continued my shopping. I also had trouble finding a lock that had to have particular measurements. I went back to Carl and he was more than happy to help me again. Now, on both occasions he explained everything to me. I found him to be very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He went out of his way to be helpful and accommodating. He provided excellent customer service and made my shopping experience a breeze. Thank you Carl!

Today I visited the 400 S Picket St Home Depot and received the BEST service from Shaloma from the blinds department and she was very helpful, professional and positive attitude from the beginning to the end.If anyone needs anything look for her.

Place was clean, staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Got the things i needed, was in and out, only bad thing i can say, was thier string table with the razer thats at the exit of the store, sucks and needs 2 be replaced. Other than that, great experience, plenty of parking, ypu do have to wear a mask upon entering, but thats about it.

If I could give zero stars I would concerning my floor installation contract with Home Depot. The only reason I went with them was for it to be no hassle. Guess again. After paying upfront a huge sum of money, their sub contractor sent out a sub subcontractor who refused to install the floor unless they performed, at an outrageous cost, out of scope work. Trying to get Home Depot‘s subcontractor on the phone was almost impossible, and several times I was on hold for almost an hour. Home Depot was not a lot of help either. One of the managers promised to take care of the issue for me and then refused to even come out and talk to me, instead, having his staff say he was in a meeting and couldn’t be bothered. All a bunch of lip service. Finally one of the assistant managers helped me but I never got my vinyl plank flooring installed. After about four weeks of screwing around with it I finally had to demand a refund for the remaining portion (the subcontractor did remove my existing floor although left a lot of debris behind) and hire my own contractor to install the floor. Terrible awful horrible. Never again.

Do not order appliances online if they come from this store. Unknown at the time of delivery, the delivery company damaged my dishwasher and covered it up since it couldn’t be installed on the day of delivery. No wonder they didn’t want to take it back. The second team from the delivery company came install and they told us it was damaged. As a precaution, make sure you inspect anything you get delivered right away because you have 24-48 hours to let them know of an issue or Home Depot will pawn you off on the manufacture.

Worst customer service. I waited for 30 minutes to some one to help after asking two different people. After that manager Mike just said, sorry we have busy day. Look the pictures of the busy day! This is maybe a joke about busy day? Or maybe someone is super busy dealing with personal business? Only big appreciation to Tony who helped me finally without making me wait more!

The place to go for all Home Improvement jobs. Very knowledgeable staff that can help you figure out what you need and the best way you can get something done. They also have a full gardening section with seasonal plants like Christmas trees or poinsettias. They also offer shipping and installing services for cabinets in kitchens and so, but that is not very good unfortunately as they take a lot of time and occasionally you end up having to make several trips or do something over.

This location probably will have what you want, but getting help from an associate will be challenging. I always go into this location with the thought, I hope I can find what I need, because I know I will be on my own. Some associates are very helpful, but for the most part, they will avoid you. I really prefer Lowes. Both Lowes and Home Depot offer military/Veteran 10% discount, but Home Depot doesnt give the discount on every item they offer.

Great time and had loads to buy!! The selections were great for Christmas items, poinsettias keys, and new refrigerator.

Everything you need except knowledgeable staff and fair customer service. This is my local HD and I go there often, that said be prepared to know what you’ll need and where to find it yourself. The staff is either completely clueless or incredibly rude. Don’t even get me started on the jerk Ethan in the paint department this weekend. If you know what you’re after and are ready to find it on your own stop in. If you need even basic advice or customer service - go to Lowe’s or Walmart. Life’s too short to waste on these clowns.

Rented a dehumidifier that leaked and it dumped water into our carpet leaving us to have to buy more items to fix their mistake. The manager Kim? was nasty and said she wouldn’t “haggle” with us and will only issue a partial refund. We paid for something that caused us more problems. Corporate didn’t help. Avoid avoid avoid.

The whole concept of a chain store is the familiarity one feels when going in the store in a new area. Home Depot, instead, has gone the direction of many grocery store chains, arranging each store differently so the customer has to search to find what was easily found in their previous location; their hope that the customer will stay longer, find more things they need, and will buy more.

This review is based on an in store experience. I received a manufacturer coupon from swiffer for a replacement swiffer vac. I went to this location to redeem my coupon. My first trip in, I attempted to use the coupon at self checkout but quickly realized I probably should have went to a register. I stood on line for customer service where a girl greeted me. I explained my situation with the coupon and she didnt even attempt to try the coupon or look at the back of it, she just said we dont accept this. She also had the greatest attitude but thats for a different review. I left and called the Home Depot to confirm if they accepted manufacturer coupons. With the exception of several states (Virginia is not one of the states) all stores accept manufacturer coupons. I went back in to the store and this time asked for a manager. She started the convo with ive never seen this before and was already doubtful before even trying the coupon. She tried the coupon and advised that there is usually a dollar amount advising the amount off. THE COUPON HAD THE DOLLAR AMOUNT, UP TO $55 OFF. She suggested I request a check instead. I left obviously frustrated and went to Walmart because I see they finally restocked on swiffer vac. I was easily able to use the coupon there. There is obviously a knowledge gap and the associates (management included) need more training in these types of matters.

I went Home Depot to rent a moving truck as costs are so much better than truck companies like Budget or U-haul. The website said there were several trucks available at this location including a cargo van however there were only 2 trucks actually running - both HD moving units (another unit couldnt be rented due to maintenance). While there were only two units available the cost of the smaller HD unit was actually cheaper than what was listed online.We did have to wait for 2 hours or so as demand for the trucks was much higher than the supply. We actually had to work with the person who rented the truck before us to ensure we didnt lose out on it again .I really appreciate the efforts of Reiner in Customer Service Department - he was incredibly helpful and really seemed to be on our side! He made a tough situation a little easier/more manageable. 🙂

Poor poor service. I came here to get some wood and asked the gentleman to cut needed size. He did three cuts and walked away in the middle of the project. I waited for about 10 minutes, no body came. Asked a passing buy worker who can help me out- on what I received that guy right there. Go talk to him. Funny, I’m not here to chase guys.. I said would you mind call him for me? Guy went and came back with answer: he will finish what he is doing and will be there around 5-10minutes. Whattttt??? He walked away in the middle, didn’t say a word.Common guys, you can do better than this.Thank you.

Compared to other home improvement stores, Home Depot is an absolute joke. Almost every experience Ive had with them has been negative or a tremendous waste of money and/or time. Took off work for a scheduled delivery? Nobody shows up. Bought a major appliance online since nothing stocked in stores? Good luck returning it or getting a refund if it isnt what you wanted or doesnt fit in your kitchen. Need an issue resolved quickly? Prepare for an attitude and poor customer service skills from incompetent managers instead. Bottom line: fraudulent company. Scammy store policies. No sympathy that we are in a pandemic and economic recession. Just lost $400 because of these con artists.

Well organized,could use some knowledgeable employees, other than just point costumers to an aisle, once the costumer gets there still dont know which items to pick to fix theyre issues.Maybe before hiring process the prospective employee should pass a knowledge test on their department. I called for over 40 min to speak to someone in tool rental department and no answer at all, it took me 40 minutes to get to that Home Depot and walked to the toll rental department and 3 workers were chatting and fooling around and the phone was ringing and not a single one of them care about it. Too many forklifts in aisles making it difficult to get to items I was shopping for. I left with half of my shopping list that I was unable to get.

Great home improvement shop. Have rarely gone in without solving my problem one way or another. A huge thing about hardware stores in the internet age is it really pays to have employees who can make semi-educated recommendations regarding what you are trying to do. Anyone can Google how to fix gurgling sink and get some info, but having a rep tell you from their experience you want this piping vs that is pretty valuable and encourages buying in store vs online since a better result could be possible.

Better customer service than most HD in the DC region. Most employees are friendly and helpful. Store is neat and clean. Signage could be improved. Parking is almost always stress free.

Their online pickup and customer service is pretty great and a shining spot with this store. It’s not perfect, but they do what they can to make it right.I’ll steer clear of the plumbing aisle in the afternoon though as the staff member that usually works there is pretty unhelpful and rude for no reason. Springfield is another great HD alternative.

By mistake I come to this home depot to get an item the contractor needed. In the window and floor departments Mr Michael Johnson Martinez, went above and beyond on what great customer service is about. I am so grateful, his help and guidance in the itens I need to get as I am clueless regarding home improvement things. If could give him 10 starts that would be my rating for his great service.

I always have a great time at home depot. I purchased a fair amount of designer stones to sit out in the back yard and a nice little ryobi 18v +one led work light. Quick checkout even during this pandemic. Helpful staff when asked questions. I will say that some of the aisles were closed off. Not sure why as many customers ignored the signs and staff didnt say anything about it.

I attempted to visit the appliance department in-person to get a better understanding of what washer and dryer unit would best fit in the small closet of my condo. Since washers and dryers keep getting bigger, the size I currently have are hard to come by. I had ordered a set that a Home Depot employee was certain would fit, and when they were delivered they did not fit because of the extra space the dryer hose required. So I went in to get better and more exact measurements, hoping to attach a dryer hose and compare to the vent placement and dimensions of the laundry closet I have. Im not sure why, but the person in the appliance section yesterday was extremely unfriendly and unwilling to help. He actually said I should go look somewhere else because they didn’t have what I’d need and when I asked if I could take measurements he said he wouldn’t help and wouldn’t let me pull out one of the units to measure the back. I had to keep asking questions to find out that they DID in fact have options that would work for my space, including alternative venting options. He knew the info but was unwilling to give it to me until I painstakingly asked a bunch of questions to start getting the info. It’s like he didn’t even care to make a sale.So, I did in fact go somewhere else.

I was really afraid of what I would encounter when I entered the store. I was pleasantly surprised by the help I received from “Marc”. He listened to my cry for help for parts for a desk and patiently walked with me to pick out all the parts. I left the store with a sigh of relief and a smile. Definitely recommend for hardware store novices!!And several employees asked me if I was being helped as I walked around..

For curb pickup during a pandemic HD could write the playbook. They know how to do it. Convenient, timely and youre on your way. At Lowes, your orders are sometimes given to others, they bring you others orders and you wait forever it seems for them to locate your order.

This home depot is like many others. If youve been to one youve been to them all. The only thing that prevents me from giving this store a 5 star is their representatives lack of product and home improvement knowledge. Most times I know the product I need in order to get the job done as well as how to use it but every so often I need technical help or advice on a project. Seemingly every time Ive needed some sort of technical help the representative seems clueless. Im sure there are store representatives there who know their stuff, I just havent had the pleasure of speaking with them yet.

I found a gorgeous plant in the nursery section, which is laid out nicely. It took two tries before I got the right information about the location of washers for a garden hose. Still an area for improvement, based on past visits.

It can be daunting to find everything youre looking for, but you can bet they have it. The staff is friendly and willing to help you find it.Covid note: They meter the number of people entering at any one time so social distancing is not a problem. They require masks on everyone.

I used the order online and pick up at the store service. The item arrived later than estimated when I ordered. Had I known that, I would have gone to amazon & 2 day delivery. Home Depot did a good job communicating when to pick up my order via email. I walked into the store and was immediately asked if I needed help. Have your order # handy. It took less than 5 minutes to secure and sign for my order. I was out in my car and on my way home in no time. I don’t know that the service was better than getting items delivered to my house. I suppose if you drive by Home Depot every day on the way home it could save some money with free delivery to the store. I gave this 4 stars for the product meeting my expectation and speed of pick up. The delay in arrival was the only down side. I’m not sure I’d choose this option again because home delivery is more convenient.

I went because I needed potting soil but was very happy to find cleaning items and toiletries not readily available in the supermarket.

The pick-up customer service area needs some real help. They are very slow. At times you’ll see 8 employees behind the counter but only 1 helping customers. Been here 25 minutes and same guy still being helped. Line hasn’t moved at all and I’m 7th person in line.

Big box store.

Made a purchase online for almost $1k in items which included delivery. Smaller items arrived ok. Received a phone call at 1:45AM stating my delivery in in route. Come to find out an entire day later, that this was when the item arrived. Which was left in the back dumpster area of my condo bldg, rather than with the lobby which has a 24hr desk attendant. It was also left upside down,, so fragile side bearing all the weight, and the box had been opened. Probably by my building to see confirm whether it is trash or not. They checked the cameras to confirm it was my delibery. Really.poor service. Thanks for nothing.
