No longer has a grocery store…The name has also changed to Naan and Dosa.Buffet style, not restaurant style.Website needs an update immediately.
I have to admit that I am spoiled. I have lived and traveled to cities with large East Indian populations and great Indian restaurants. I usually avoid buffets like the plague but it was a small place and I was there during lunch so I gave it a try. The food was just so-so. I had to really look for the meat in the dishes with sauce. The vegetable dishes tasted bland, however the Chicken Tandoori was dry but tasty. The grocery section was small but their prices were good, just not near enough variety. I love Indian spices but their selection was much smaller than I was used to. Same thing with the rice. However, for a city the size of Albuquerque maybe its not too bad.One thing that I need to mention is the sink in the Mens bathroom. It was the craziest thing that I have ever seen. There is no sink, just a granite-like slab that the water runs onto. It doesnt look like it has anywhere to go but there is a hidden seam that it drains into. Maybe its a popular thing but I have never seen it before. I added an extra point just for that.
If you cook indian at home there are plenty of very inexpensive raw ingredients here. There are a lot of ready made and easy make items as well. Best prices on seasoning and plant based in town.
I accidentally mistaken customers for workers because people were standing by the register talking so I only assumed but still everyone was super friendly in helping me find what I needed to make mango lassi and it turned out amazing! People are super friendly.
My wife and I visited the new Indian restaurant INDIAN FOOD AND GROCERY on Wyoming and Academy, and we were delightfully surprised at the top-notch quality of food and outstanding service. Tonight we enjoyed their buffet, which included a good variety of dining entrees, including butter chicken, goat curry, saag paneer, tandoori, aloo Gobi, and many more. We both loved the tender butter chicken, and I discovered the tasty goat curry – everything was wonderful. Best of all, prices were very reasonable. Highly Recommended.
Wonderful smells of exotic spices fill the senses. I went in for Tandoori spice when I couldnt find it at regular stores. Even my neighbors were saying What is that wonderful aroma?
Arrived at seven, it wasnt crowded. Really nothing but good experiences here. Prices that are reasonable. My apartment is far from here, so I cant visit often.
Wonderful little Indian Grocery Store with a good selection of basic items.
Very friendly and helpful. Good products.
Neatly organized, fresh vegetables...always call before you go to check if veggies are in. Helpful owners and customer friendly!
I eat in this place a lot! This is my favorite spot to to have a good dinner. I visit this place at least once a month. The meals are very tasty, the staff is polite and the prices are affordable. I enjoy going in this spot over a tasty lunch.
Service is always nice even when they have a full house. Nothing but pleasant experiences here.
My first visit. It was one of those places that you drive past and say I am going to stop there one day. Well I made the turn today. Boy what an awesome grocery store and a restaurant that serves a lunch buffet. This was one of the freshest buffets I have ever seen. This yummy fresh food and the products I needed has me giving them 5 stars.
From the moment you walk in you are greeted and seated promptly. The food is amazing! The lunch buffet is exceptional with a variety of delicious choices. The staff is courteous and friendly. Not only is the dining area clean and neat but the bathrooms were the same. I will definitely make this one of my regular lunch destinations.
When I walked in here with my daughter, I was greeted with a clean and warmly decorated. The smell was heavenly, but the food was even better! The service was great. Each person was patient and pleasant. I truly felt welcome there. My daughter and I both had the buffet, and it had a great variety, it was kept fresh, and tasted wonderfully. Im glad that I chose this place to introduce my daughter to Indian cuisine.
Delicious food and the staff was very pleasant and serve nicely. I am coming here from past 6 months and seriously like the food, serving and ambiance. Food was fresh and tasty. Spices was as per my taste and I am glad that one of my friend recommend this place to me for groceries but the food was awesome here.
Amazing hot Indian Food and chutney. Butter Chicken was good enough to die for. The market side was such a good selection of spices and foods and will be coming here for my jaggery and spices. Cant be beat for prices, selection or hot food.
Well priced Indian grocery store.
Awesome place to have indian food, but do check the expiry dates.
Very well stocked store will be coming back!!
Honestly, the buffet was meh. The store is great!! Fantastic prices and wonderful spice mixes. I have found some amazing premixed spices for curry here at a fraction of what I would have spent anywhere else. The customer service was a bit lacking, but that is with any ethnic store when youre not that ethnicity.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The food was the best part for sure. Not as much selection as I was thinking, hoping I guess. That one picture of the buffet is it. Either way food and atmosphere make it worth a second trip across town sometime soon.
Foods taste like the package Indian foods that are available in some stores. Restaurant should be providing a lot better Indian taste. Came here with a lot of expectation but disappointed with the taste. Hope they can get a better chef for the restaurant soon. Great place though, staffs are nice and attentive all the time except the food.
Had the buffet for a lunch date. Full of flavor and nice staff. Fresh tasting as well! Definitely coming back. We live on another side of town and the drive is so worth it! Thanks!!
You heard good things about the Indian Grill so 4 of us went to dinner last night. We were all in agreement the food was good, the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is is in a good central location, plenty of room and was very clean. We plan on checking out their buffet during the week. All in all we were very happy and will be returning.
This spot is one of my favorites! Good prices, considerable dishes and the staff are constantly very nice.
Their buffet is excellent. Incredible value for the price. I also like the fact that you can get a lot of cool Indian grocery items there. But definitely check out the buffet.
This place is delicious! Amazing food and prices! We like to shop around the grocery store after we eat. Highly recommend.Edit: they dont have a buffet anymore
Watch out for their products expiry dates- many are way past due. These need to be pulled off the shelves and replaced with current dated items.
Good place to get indian products, even fresh vegetables.
Excellent food and experience all around. My wife and I had dinner there Saturday evening (March 2017) for the first time, and we were wowed. Beautiful atmosphere, beautifully prepared dishes, and the quality of each dish was consistently flavorful and vibrant--all at reasonable prices. Our friends who took us there said that the buffet is the place to try out the vast majority of the menu offerings, so if you are unsure about Indian cuisine, then for less than $10, the buffet is a great way to expand your food world. Highly recommended.
It was Christmas day and we were passing through Albuquerque. Almost all restaurants were closed. Found this place, and pleasantly surprised with the quality, taste and price of the food. This place is not a regular restaurant. It is a grocery store that has a good portion of it as dining area. It was newly opened and very very clean. They had a small buffet with about 3 non-vegetarian and 3 vegetarian dishes. Food is offered as either buffet, or, 2 or 3 item a la carte. I highly recommend this place if you want to eat some authentic Indian food.
Delicious food, great service, soothing atmosphere. The lunch buffet is good, but I recommend skipping it and choosing something unique from the menu. They have tons of vegan and vegetarian options, and everything Ive tried has been yummy yummy.
This is a very well stocked Market that is clean and bright. The evening buffet in the attached restaurant for $9.99 was extremely good value. The choices were well prepared and very tasty. It will be on our list of favorites when in Albuquerque.
Great lunch buffet 11am to 2pm daily. Good value. Excellent Indian grocery. Hard to find pulses and spices, reasonably priced.
Well stocked grocery items affordably priced. The only place in town to get quality basmati rice.
The food is great! The only reason why I give it 3 stars and not 5 is because they need to have better service and nicer wait staff. But the food is always fresh and hot and this place is close to home which is convenient.
Great prices and fun with food counter. Try the food and shop!! Kids have fun area, too
Delicious food, attentive wait staff and pleasant atmosphere. We enjoy a meal here at least every other week, sometimes more often.Extensive menu, we have tried many dishes and truly love the food.
Delicious vegetarian and vegan food. Our son enjoyed the meat entrees also. Good customer service and inexpensive groceries.
Really good food at the buffet. But do not take an extra scoop of food or the cooks will come out of the kitchen and stare evil-eyes at you the entire time that you are eating. That is what happened to my friend and I when we ate there. It was SO WIERD!!!!!! I would not recommend going back for a second helping either. (even though it IS a buffet.) They may take the air out of your tires. - Im just saying..
Great price for the buffet. Nice food options. Shop is small but okay.
Great place to eat. It was clean and the food was fresh for lunch hour. The price was reasonable at $11/person for the lunch buffet.
Food was quite delicious. Staff was friendly and very informative. Will definitely come again.
Loved the buffet. Tasty food. Love the goat. Mango lassi is rich just the way I like it and not watered down like some other restaurants. Love that its in a grocery lol.
We were passing through on our way home from a road trip when I came across this place through the website Spoon University which listed their buffet as 50 Best Things to Eat in Albuquerque. I cant believe how inexpensive their food is because the quality is delightful. Try their Butter Chicken. SOOOO good!! I like when a salad is an option for buffets but their other items make up for it.
Good food but they discontinued the buffet to have a grocery store instead! Now you eat in grocery aisles-not pleasant. Wish they had just raised their prices. I won’t go anymore.
They honor our Second Amendment rights. The food was delicious. There wasnt too much variety at the buffet. The staff had a somewhat bland personality, but I didnt come here for personality.
Shared butter chicken and chicken curry dishes. Both were delicious. Good portions. Of course the balsamic rice was delicious. Naan lamb bread to go with. Tasted exactly like Ive had in country.
Buffet had a wide variety of choices...all good! Love their sag paneer. Wait staff attentive without being intrusive.
It is no longer a restaurant. It was quite good.
Came here hungry and learned they no longer have a buffet and are transitioning completely to a grocery store. The grocery store is ok I guess. But they no longer serve any of the food I used to love :(
Nice selection of Oriental groceries. Huge store so allot time to cruise around your 1st visit. Found brown Basmati rice which is hard to find.
Ive lived in NYC and on the west coast, the food here is as good as any there (and it cost sooo much more there). They dont get a perfect score because theyre in a kind of office park building and theres no ambience. So eat there and leave!
Frendly staff buffet was very tasty. Love the fresh yogart. Nice selection in the market area. Prices are reasonable compare to competitors. Love coming here.
Nice Food and Nice owner. Groceries little bit pricey. We came for groceries purchase and looking all items, but we disappointed with staff . He asked us How long u guys to take for buy, after that we paid and exit . Pl don’t disappoint the customer.
Limited but great buffet. Good Indian food for order out. They have been fixture in town for many years.
The lunch buffet was delicious. A wide variety of foods and flavors, each one better than the last. The Butter Chicken and Saag Paneer were outstanding. This was my first visit but wont be my last.
Love the atmosphere, a combination restaurant and grocery store. The sitting area is surrounded by shelves stocked with Indian products, and a wide panarama view of the Sandias. Now the cuisine....the buffet is excellent with a large variety of entrees, perfectly seasoned and naan bread - so delicious!
The only buffet in town I will eat at. Food is always good. Service pleasant. Very clean.
Great food for a great price, planning on going back and checking out what they have at the grocery portion.
Good food. Service a bit slow, but nice environment. We always come here to eat and the food has never disappointed.
Great place to get East Indian spices and goods for home cooking.
Very very good indian food! much more authentic than most places in albuquerque. The service could have been better. Our waiter was very short with us and seemed irritated when we asked questions. But food was delivered quickly and was very tasty!
Awesome place to eat, love the food and not expensive.
Pretty good food and reasonable price
Good choice of indian grocery and decent indian food as well.
The best Indian food in Albuquerque! Friendly staff, great menu, and the food was amazing. Well be going back often! Save some money by going for the lunch buffet.
Amazing and tasty. Great price. Unbeatable !
Wide selection of Indian groceries. Nice restaurant with an Indian menu. Lunch and dinner buffet is all-you-can-eat. South Asian music accompanies diners.
Cannot beat this place for amazing Indian food and very affordable
Very good for indian grocerys. U can get every spices and food item
Indian food is a good place. I like the cookies a lot💞
I have never experienced such a rude waiter. Greeted by asking if we wanted a table or a booth, we responded booth. He then rudely said Well there is one over there. pointing to the opposite side of the restaurant. When he finally did walk over to our table he rudely stated Do you want anything or just water? I asked if he happened to have a drink menu and he just pointed to the table. He seemed very impatient so I told him we would get something but we just wanted to look at the drink menu first. He came back several minutes later and said Do you want something or not?! Very very disappointing. Will not be returning to, or recommending this place!!
Food is delicious. I like the tandoori fish Mr. Dave makes it to perfection and the presentation is very very nice. Soups always delicious and I love dhal and mulligatawny soups. They are very good. Chai is very good too.
It was not bad but it wasnt great. The atmospher changed into a casual fast food type Restaurant. The place felt cheap and like a food mart. And it wasnt inexpensive either.
Still Smells Amazing!! Ordered my usually Chicken Tiki Masala and couldnt be happier! Very clean, organized, and such a fresh new look! Love it!!!
This place has the worst Indian food in ABQ. They are misleading their customers. When ordering off the menu, they bring you back up buffet food from the kitchen. The food was cold. No waiter or waitress service when ordering off the menu, although charging full price.
Superb food and a buffet too! Fresh naan delivered to your table
Great place for pick indian snacks
Good food, friendly staff & reasonable prices.
Great selection, friendly and helpful.
Great food & such nice people that run it.
What a great concept. Glad they changed format from just being a restaurant to also include a grocery section. I was worried that the change would impact the quality of the food but it hasnt. The food is excellent and the buffet prices are great. Fresh naan is included with your buffet meal. The buffets main features are butter chicken and tandoori chicken and also includes basmati rice and some other delectable sides. Other items to consider that are separate from the buffet are the samosas and lassi (yogurt and mango) drink. The grocery side includes various spices, flours, oils, ghee, drinks, and other hidden gems.
Nice to have indian grocery store on North side of town. Great selection, good prices.
So glad they have not given in like other Indian places who serve beef. Killing cows is always bad, but especially bad when businesses run by Indians do so. Cows are one of our mothers, because we take their milk. The Vedic culture knows better than this.Their food is great; my favorite saag paneer in town. Plus you get a discount for ordering vegetarian. Unfortunately they do serve meat, but at least not cows. The grocery side is pretty cool too.
All indian grocery items and condiment available.A small restaurant is also there were you can taste indian cuisine.Door delivery of food is available.limited parking facility.
Cozy little store and resturant- very nice peopleAverage indian food- not bad by any means- but not over the top- little buffet and a chai cost me $13-great view- Bollywood on the TV- very clean place- alot of to go orders coming in and out- all you can drink serve yourself chai- cozy little spot- checkem out
Fantastic selection and very affordable! They have great deals!
People are nice and has good collection of Indian products.
THIS BUFFET IS SO AMAZING FOR 10 BUCKS, I mean its the price of McDonalds but the flavor and value is amazing! Its a new go to for Indian food for my family!
Very impressed! As authentic as could be to real Indian food. Delicious and generous portions!
Pretty good butter chicken and naan, missing meat balls though. Very clean and very nice staff
The food is amazing and its super affordable!
It was worst experience with the food that we tried todays night. We ordered both chicken and Goat Biriyani for 4 people and were not able to have at least couple of spoons also. Tandoori chicken that we had as a appetizer was fine.************Worst*****Worst******Worst*****
