I’ve been going to this salon for almost 7 years and the staff has always been great. Someone greets you as soon as you walk in the door and they call you by name. Before seating you they offer you a beverage. During your procedure (cut, color, etc.) you are treated with great care and attention to your detail needed for the look you are wanting to achieve. I have problem hair, not wanting to stay down and my stylist is able to cut my hair where it blends together. Try it, I’m sure you’ll love it.

When I moved to Albuquerque, NM, I knew one of the first things Id have to do is find a salon.My first stop was here to see Jose.Long story short: Ive been going ever since. Jose is without a doubt the best stylist Ive ever had the privilege to meet. Hes extremely thorough, communicative with his plans, and the final result is always immaculate. He takes time to study the hairs texture, pattern of growth, etc. and recommends a cut based on that. He cuts with the hair and not against it, leaving the final result to be natural and classic.On top of all this, you couldnt ask for a kinder soul to talk with! Hes just a beautiful person. I absolutely love every trip to Joses chair, and I cant imagine ever seeing anyone else. As much as Id like to keep him all to myself, he deserves to be recognized and shared with others for his talent.

I always get great service here. I moved to ABQ last year and since then I have used ABQ Hair Studio exclusively. They matched the color of my hair perfectly to what my stylist had been doing in Virginia. Brandi always spends a lot of time on my hair cuts and I love the cut. The complimentary hand massages are a nice touch, too. The staff is very good with checking on the customers and their needs.

This is no longer an Aveda Salon. It is now Eufora. Having been a very happy client of Sam, the owner for 14 years, I continue to be loyal, even though Sam no longer works as a stylist. The staff is unable to be clear about whether or not Sam will return. I have been waiting for many months now.

I have been coming to this salon for 10+ years and have always been 100% happy with the results when I leave! I am always greeted so nicely by name when I walk in for my appointment -- sort of like Norm walking into Cheers!! Rubi has done my hair for about 4 years now and I just love her -- shes very personable, and very knowledgeable regarding Aveda products! I have observed countless people getting their hair done by Katie and the rest of the staff and every customer seems very pleased with their hair and stylist! I would not consider going to any other salon!

I havent noticed anything, but I guess my mom went out to get highlights and her hair done for $195.00! And instead of management satisfying an angry customer, they wanted to add $75 in order to change her hair back, but what was the purpose on going then?!? Basically my mom unfortunately gave them money just so they can get a quick buck.

Ive gotten my hair cut, colored and done eyebrow waxing here twice now, and I have been extremely pleased both times. Different ladies both times, and yet very consistent results. Its a pleasant, low-key environment, the customer service is excellent, and its easy to book an appointment via the website. Theyre on-time for appointments, as well. Very happy customer.

I always come back to these ladies here. I will never stray again. They always do a great job and listen to what you want which is great because your hair is important. Great products too.

I went it and got a 70s hair cut. I called and asked for a manager and never received a call back. The people were nice. But now I have a hair cut that I cant do anything with. A call back would have been nice. No customer service! I will never go back 70 dollars for a hair cut and it looks horrible! I paid less as La Bellas and I much better cut. Thanks for nothing!

I have been in Albuquerque 5 years now (I am a transplant from New York). ABQ Hair Salon is by far the best hair salon out here that I have found. Affordable prices and great service -including a scented shoulder and scalp massage before you begin the haircut. I especially love the stylist Rubi, as she understands my type of wild and crazy hair, and does beautiful work with it -while teaching me tips for how to style and care for my hair type as well!

The first time I came to ABQ, I was amazed by the service. I got taken care of quickly and my haircut was lovely. The second time I came in for a trim and for a hair color.I showed my stylist the exact hair color I wanted and then asked her directly if 1) my complexion would hold that color well and 2) if she could achieve it in one appointment. She said both could be done and then conferred with another stylist. My stylist told her what colors she was going to use and I could see the other stylist make a concerned face and ask her if she was sure.After she put in the color, I was left to sit on my own for what seemed like forever. Then when they remembered that I was there, another stylist (who was ridiculously nice) had to come help me because my original stylist had taken a walk-in. She dried my hair and even asked me (again with a concerned face) if it was light enough for me. I asked for a honey blonde and simply got a light brown. I told her I would like lighter and we scheduled another appointment. I was told that I would have to pay full price for that appointment and the next. I told them how disappointed I was and that I had even asked if it would take more than one appointment when I first arrived and was told no. They basically said it was too bad and that a new appointment was a new full price. My original stylist didnt even see the finish or say goodbye to me.While there are a few stylist there who are amazing both in technique and customer care, the overall experience of ABQ Hair Studio is horrible. Like the other reviews, I feel there is a lack of customer care and feedback when discussing services. I simply think that they dont tell you when something may go bad so you are forced to come back in to fix it. I would never go here again.

Previous to ABQ Hair Studio I have had THE WORST experiences with hairdressers. Rubi, Im happy to say is the exception. She is talented, nice and above all takes the time to listen and discuss what you want done before hand. I am so happy with the cut and the style that we decided on together. They charged me 150.00 for a color that was nothing like I asked for. She basically made my hair dark brown when i asked for it to be carmelized. U can still see my color from before. Than to top it off she was asking the girl next to how to do everything n how to mix. I should have ran when I had the chance. Dont go here they will mess up your hair n make you pay because they used you as a Guinea pig😭

Do NOT come here for Waxing Services. If you want the Hair to actually be removed from your skin, this is not the place to go. Either they are using baby powder for wax or their techs are uneducated on waxing period. And not to mention when you go to the front desk and show them how your hair was indeed NOT removed as usually you expect from a wax. They will happily take off $3 dollars and still make you pay the whopping $15 for doing absolutely Nothing!! Holy Cow. you go into a place like this and skip the average nail salon because you feel you will receive better service and results. Nope! Save your money and Shave because thats what you will end up doing anyways.

I booked two appointments with Melissa and when my daughter arrived for her appt, she was told Melissa was out and Amy would be her hairdresser. AMY butchered my daughters hair, has no idea what a layer & face frame means and is rude and wont spend more than 12 minutes on your hair!! My daughter nor I have EVER HAD SUCH A HORRIBLE HAIRCUT, EVER!! Then they want to offer hair enhancement LMAO, like youre gonna trust them to touch your hair AGAIN!! The supposed manager, Melissa, tried to make it right, but in the end all she did was cover and lie for the owner, then walked away with the idea that they should be trusted to touch your hair AGAIN!! Of course, once they had my money, The owner wouldnt call me back BECAUSE SHES BUSY taking other customers money!! 3 days later she calls and is SO UNPROFESSIONAL that she cant leave a message. The only thing I got in the 40 second conversation with SAM the owner was SUPPOSEDLY my two appointments were never scheduled with Melissa!!! WTH!! BEWARE Melissa, Amy and the others are stealing your appointments!!! I wouldnt trust SAM either, she seems convinced that I did not schedule two appts to have my hair done by YOU!! Very sad to be giving this studio a bad review considering Ive been a customer there for close to 20 years and referred my mother there who has also been a loyal customer for many years. Typically I always have a good experience but the last two times have not been good at all. My first bad experience was with a haircut. I showed a photo but communicated with the stylist to give feedback to weather or not she felt I had the right length and texture to achieve the look. She said no problem and cut away. I left looking like Sunny Bono with a bowl cut. I made sure I communicated in a respectful way that I was not happy with the cut and trust that my stylist would communicate with me if a certain cut, style, or color is not attainable for my hair type. I would rather have a stylist tell me its not gonna work out rather than experiment with my hair.After that I thought Id give it another chance, I mean, after all Ive typically always been happy with the services provided there. This time I went in for color. I wanted a drastic change going from very dark to a dark honey gold. The stylist looked stressed about it and said we couldnt attain an all over lighter color but could do a relatively overall lighter color with even lighter and chunky highlights. I agreed not certain why she couldnt do what I asked considering other stylist have achieve this look before? After the color I was also supposed to get my hair cut but my communications with my stylists were just not being heard or understood and after seeing how my color looked NOTHING like she explained it would I chose not to have her cut it because I was scared after seeing my color. It ended up costing me 100 bucks and I have blond spotty roots all over my head. My highlights didnt take on the entire length of the pieces of hair. I look like a cheetah with brassy blond dots all over my scalp. As I paid it was obvious that I was very upset. To keep from saying anything mean I just paid, cried, and left. This morning I called to talk to the manager who was the same young woman who I paid and saw me upset yesterday. I asked to talk with Sam the owner but she wouldnt talk to me. As I was speaking about my concerns the young lady rudely cut me off and put me on hold then came back to tell me that they would only give me half of my money back. At that point I began to mention that I was really disappointed that my last two experiences were negative there and that I really hoped that a stylist can communicate if certain colors or cuts are not attainable and let me know what will work. At that point she she got very defensive and argumentative. I couldnt believe it. She made me sound like I was the problem because I havent been happy with my past two appointments. I was really taken back by the rude attitude. Not that I would ever go back to even let them fix what they did but they also made it clear that they didnt ever want me back as a customer either. I will never ever recommend anyone there ever! Ill also let all the people who Ive referred in the past know that their service as well as customer service has totally gone down the drain. Im also going to report them to the BBB! Never been this upset or treated like this by a small business that Ive helped support over the past 20 years. THANK YOU ABQ Hair Studio, nice work

The phone is answered within the first 1-2 rings with a very courteous hello and this is ..... How may I help you today?When you enter the salon, you are again greeted with such enthusiasm.My stylist is Brandi, who comes to the front to greet me and escort me back to her clean station. She is young and has a vibrant personality. As I am getting settled into the chair I am brought a cup of tea(yummy herbal Aveda specialty) or water. Brandi asks how I am and what I would lie to do today...all while she is looking at my hair condition and my reflection in the mirror.. i am then treated to a scalp and neck massage before the shampoo and cut. While Brandi is friendly she maintains the professional demeanor of a seasoned stylist. While Brandi is finishing styling my new DO :) one of the front desk staff walks over to help me book my nest appointment.This salon has got it down! Great staff! Professional! I look forward to my next visit!

My natural hair is a dark brown and I have been dying to go blonde for years! After attempting and with many failed attempts to do this on my own or with anyone else I finally gave in and called Melissa at ABQ Hair Stuido. She was understanding in what I wanted and gave me just that- without bleaching my hair to the extreme. I am so pleased with Melissas work. She made me feel comfortable at ABQ Hair Studio. Not only have I found an amazing Aveda Salon, but I have found an amazing stylist for life and will follow her wherever her career takes her!
