First of all this one star does not reflects the staff of this local store. Its for the manufacturer, S&H and people responsible for updating the process of making my glasses. This was the first time I used Visionworks and will be the last.I couldnt get updates on my glasses. My glasses were bent plus the nose rest. It took me a while to adjust my glasses. I like them and glad I choose them. But for the price I paid & my insurance. I would think they would do everything to protect them during transport. The pictures will show how they ship glasses that cost about the same price as someone wages.I have used another store in the past but I never had to accept my glasses in this way. The price I paid for these. I could have purchased 3 to 4 pairs. Like stated at the begin of this review. The staff did their job the best way they were trained. I dont know their companys policies but I think they need to reevaluate them.So if youre looking for affordable glasses this place is not the place to be looking at. The quality is good but for the price I paid. I should have received my frames and lens in good condition. Shipping could have been more then a box and a slip of paper. Also, updated to me with a picture or video how my glasses were before they are shipped. After I left the store I couldnt understand why they had to send out for my glasses to be made. Usually most stores will have them in 2 to 3 hrs. I have to accept some of the fault. I could have went to another store.

Despite what the website says, they don’t have a doctor so there are no exams available. After fighting through the website and the phone system I was told none of the ABQ stores give eye exams. Would be nice if the website or recorded message would say that, and I’m not sure what the point is for an eyeglass store not to do exams...oh well.

For 3 consecutive years this location had provided me exceptional service, product value, professional expertise. On my last visit in August 2020, Deb went the extra mile to provide additional care for my specific need. It was obvious to me she has the training and temperament during my appointment because I needed it! I am in cancer treatment, broke my glasses, needed very special lenses, and new frames. Thanks to her, and the other staff who joined in to help me pick the perfect frame, I am so happy with my lenses and new frame — and I will be back. Last summer, I foolishly decided to use a coupon for an eye exam at another vision center and boy, that was a mistake. I went back to Visionworks! No one compares to Deb and the staff at VisionWorks Cottonwood Mall. They really know their stuff, and each time I needed it, they customized their service to meet my particular (and quirky) needs without judgement or embarrassment to me. I won’t go anywhere else! Thank you Deb!

I bought 2 new regular glasses frames and 1 sunglasses frame here. The experience was great. They had a large selection. I went during covid and they were exceptionally clean and were taking all the necessary health precautions. The manager, Jennifer, helped me both times I went in and she was so friendly. She stayed with me past their closing time ON A FRIDAY NIGHT to help me!! I offered to leave and come back but she insisted on getting me set up. She even played the ever-annoying game of These ones? Or thessssse ones? with me lol. Which is to say she helped me pick a good look. I really love my new glasses and they came in 4 business days.

From reading the reviews people either love the place or absolutely hate it. Im in the later category and wont be back. Inattentive and rude staff. (Apparently you need to speak with Steve or move on.) And from dealing with VisionWorks in the past, it will be pricey.And how about the Mall getting a map for heavens sake.

I would highly recommend visionworks! I went to them for the first time about 2 weeks ago, and got an eye exam and new glasses. Couldnt be happier! Dr. Carol is so nice, and she explains everything in great detail. Best eye exam experience Ive had.Picking out frames is just as nice. Everyone is very kind and helpful, and the selection is excellent; lots of styles and even sizes to fit any size face. Im very happy with my experience and my new glasses! :)

Would give a much higher rating however the associate named Deb refused to help me and refused to let me speak to anyone else in the store. I have bought multiple pairs of glasses from them. The first of which the frame snapped in half and they wouldn’t fix but Steve I believe his name was helped me in getting two new pair at a great price. However less than five months later both pairs ( one of which I’ve only worn 2 times and has been in the case other than that) now mysteriously have scratches all over the lenses, so noticeable that it’s hard for me to see while wearing them. When I called the store to see why my options were Deb said she couldn’t help me and would not let me speak to anyone else. She said something about the warranty but apparently the store is the only one who can tell me if I purchased this warranty and she refuses to help. I’m very frustrated because I need my glasses to see And with these scratches it makes it very difficult. I’ve been wearing glasses for 20+ years and never have I had them get scratched like this. And the lack of help from the associates is very disappointing.

Went by w/o an appt. Monique came out, took my glasses and adjusted them in no time. She was very helpful and took the time to double check them for fit. It was great service. Thanks!

This review is by far late but this place left such an impression I knew I had to review it regardless of the time that has past! The workers there specifically Steve were terrific. Steve is a great man and he was so helpful getting my glasses put together. Even when there was a mix up he worked late to fix it and get the glasses to me. I really appreciated the above and beyond service. The glasses turned out great too!=)

Steve did a wonderful job. Helped me find the right glasses, which is always hard. He wasnt pushy on selling me everything, Just gave me the information and his opinion. Plus he has a great smile and used it often. Great experience.

Made an appointment weeks ago for 430. I arrived around 415....it is now 557 and I still have not seen eye doctor yet. I have never waited so long. Staff hasnt been unfriendly but waiting 90+minutes past my appointment is crazy. I have never had this issue at cutler location...not even this time of year. Thinking this location isnt for me.

Im delighted with my new prescription sunglasses and my first ever computer glasses. Both make a wonderful difference in my vision, and feel and look good. I was out in Albuquerque visiting family and had new bifocal contacts,one of the contacts tore. I didnt have a replacement. The staff was very helpful they did not have the brand prescribed to me and they gave me not one but 2 sets of contacts of different brands so I could try them at no cost. Kudos for going above and beyond!!!!

This was my first time visiting Visionworks. Everyone from the doctor and his staff to the people in the optical were great. Very friendly and helpful. And to top it off they were having a great sale. I was able to get three pairs of glasses and an exam for just over $300. I will be back for sure next time.

My partner dealed with an employee who was a Covid-19 denier. He said stuff like covid was created to get our president to lose his reelection etc. He literally asked her to pull her mask down. When she said she wasnt comfortable with it he continued to insist until she did it.If you are looking to minimize your exposure to Covid during this pandemic, I would not recommend this place.

Professional, courteous customer service is what you will find here. Every time I have gone in the staff have been very helpful. They tell you exactly what you can expect to pay and their frame selection is great. Steve is very personable and willing to assist with anything you need.

Visionworks in the Cottonwood Mall is exemplary. They were courteous and their onsite lab was an absolute lifesaver. If it wasn’t for that same day service, I would have had to wait until I returned home several days later for new glasses. Great service and good people. Would recommend to anyone.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Me and my mother have been trying to find glasses for a while now we have gone to about five different eyeglass stores and this store definitely stood out! As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with the friendly staff!STEVE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He made us feel so comfortable, we werent pressured, forced, or rushed with our decision to pick glasses and lenses out. We were able to joke around with him and it was honestly like just talking to a friend about what we needed and wanted in our eye glass wear. He worked with our budget, and our personal needs to help us choose the perfect lens for us and he even answered all the tons of questions we had!I have horrible vision so automatically I figured even with my insurance I was going to spend more than $400-$600 on my glasses. However Steve explained my benefits to me and I only ended up spending about $190! I got amazing frames and the best and newest lenses!

I havent purchased glasses from this store yet (new to the area). I had a pair of glasses that needed fixing (a bit of an emergency). I ordered contacts on 03/16. Deb helped me, and she was great! She went above and beyond to make sure I got the right contacts at the right time. Also she explained the payment options so I could save money. She was very kind and courteous even though the store was busy.

The service here was great! They have a lab so they can get your glasses in an hour, but it is currently only open a couple days of the week. Idali and Steve were super helpful.

Steve, the tech has always greeted me by name when I go in. He now helps up front with sales and service. He is always friendly, and takes that extra step to get your glasses to you as quick as possible. There are other Visionworks in Albuquerque, but I always go to the west side because of his service.

Dr. Carol (Bottjer) is amazingly kind, knowledgeable, and communicative. Ive never had such an enjoyable eye exam! Steve helped me with selecting my eyewear - we was great at helping me find the frames that were exactly what I was looking for; Im very impressed.

Dr Vigil provides thorough exams and lot of explaining as he does his exam. Weve used him for 10 years and are very happy with his service. Even followed him out to the west side. Highly recommend - note: I dont use the Visionworks optical shop.

My eye exam was in January-ish and I am barely reviewing my experience now in June. Better late than never.This is my second eye exam here at VW and each time was fast and efficient. There are a lot of eyeglasses to chose from for men and women. Less than a week, I received notice that my glasses were ready and the employee that assisted me helped create the perfect fit for me.I appreciate the quick and convenient service for a busy mom.

Be sure to take your insurance policy with you! and the # for your policy! I went in on 3/15/2018 at 11:33 AM. I had a great and easy experience with their Dr. However, when I went to look at glasses, I asked for the cheapest pair my new insurance(Davis vision) would cover. She pulled up my insurance, which showed that I had a frame allowance of $180 (which is correct). She then proceeded to explain that the absolute cheapest lenses for bifocal would be $180 (actually according to my insurance it is $15 for the pair). I dont know if she was trying to upsell, but I repeatedly said I wanted the cheapest pair. I explained that I did not care about having a line, and I was not interested in the progressive lenses for $280. When I told her I didnt think her info was correct, she said well a lot of people yell at me, its not me its their insurance. I will not be purchasing from this store. According to my insurance this happens a lot, and it is hard to get your money back!

Made the appointment on-line. Attempted to follow the directions provided by website that sent me to the wrong location. Then unable to get into the mall to get to appointment as many doors were not open. Was a bit late. Receptionist told me to wait and see if next appointment was a no-show. Refused to reschedule me. Told me that she doesnt have any problem getting there early and into the building. Said they had a schedule to keep and I wasnt there 10 minutes early as stated on website. Website stated that if you filled out paperwork on-line you didnt need to be earlier. Next appointment showed up late and receptionist allowed him to complete his paperwork and go in late. Didnt receive same courtesy. Later, my daughter and husband had appointments. We showed up early as requested to find individuals waiting, which was surprising because of the receptionists insistence that individuals were only given 15 minutes. Mid afternoon, they were more than 1 hour behind. The other individuals waiting for appointments had no idea. Cancelled and walked out. Given the receptionist, will not return. Reported her conduct to the main office to only then find out that the optometrist is an independent and not affiliated and there was little that Visionworks could do.

Staff Courtney was very rude, refused to reschedule my appointment twice! Had to go in the store to be able to make my appointment because she wouldn’t do it for me over the phone. Also hung up on me.

Very disappointed! Overpriced with very disrespectful and uncaring staff. Had a complaint about the glasses iwith something that was out of my control and yet they would not cover it saying it must be something I had done. There were no visible scratches no visible damage nothing to indicate that anything happened to the glasses. They still were unwilling to do anything about it and offered nothing more than just clean them better or buy new lenses. High cost for very little return.

The eye glass side the guy told me to come back later because they were too busy to help me. They tried to force me to order the wrong size contacts. This place is a joke.
