I was mostly pleasantly surprised at the quality of care at Stanton. It was easy to make an appointment, I was seen very close to appointment time. The Zoom exam was a bit odd and the technician who performed the exam was a but hard to understand and was unavailable to answer any questions I had (my only reason for 4 stars, not 5, except the loud rock music was also a little hard to take). The sales person who helped me (Chloe) was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The selection of frames and discounts offered made the experience better.

Stanton was the only optical that offered same day appointments. There were others advertised for walk in and be seen. But when I walked in, one by one they said no, we only have appointments for next week.Stanton was great! The only draw back was the wait time because there was only one Dr and one technician filling the prescriptions. However, they were knowledgable and friendly. I was able to use my old frames, and choose a second pair for free. Aside from the wait time, it was great!

Came here today with my wife; both of us are transgender & this was her first time getting a pair of gender-affirming glasses, so she was very nervous. The staff were very courteous and respectful towards us.We had a very positive experience with Rodney, who was very kind in using my partners initials rather than the legal name on her documentation. (She hasn’t decided on her preferred name yet).It took some time to get in for our appointment, but our glasses are ready for us very quickly; we were expecting weeks of waiting, but I got mine the same day & only a 2 day wait for my partners prescription to get in.Highly recommended!

I had made an appointment and asked to see an in-person doctor. They said they could make the appointment with an in-person doctor and it was a week away. When I arrived for my appointment, it was setup as a virtual visit and they said they didnt have a doctor available. I had to leave my work early only to have to leave without my eye exam. Terrible service and the virtual eye exam is not accurate. I did do the virtual the first time with Stanton and it was not a good experience. Will never go back to them and will tell anyone not to go to Stanton.

My husband is the one who had an eye appointment so I can’t comment on the exams but I will say the staff was so friendly, my 5 year old wanted glasses sooo bad, she even picked some out of the kids section. When I told her she didn’t need glasses and that those were only displays she got very sad, well when we were walking out an associate of Stanton called me back and told us the manager would sell us a pair off the display! They made my daughters day she was/is so happy! She wears her glasses religiously even the teachers at school think they are real. Thank you to everyone at Stanton for being caring!!

I was told eye doctors are unavailable after 5PM once I showed up for my appointment (see attached photo). Id appreciate better communication between customer service representatives and doctors offices, but other than that my experience was good. They have good customer service and they do try to help you as quickly as they can.

This place is a quick cash scam! I booked an appointment for a contact vision exam last week. Gave them all my personal information and had them verify my private vision insurance. When I showed up today for my appointment at check in the receptionist at the desk tells me they dont accept my insurance and Ill have to pay cash or card for the exam. $100.. +.. Stated to her I had verified my insurance when booking my appointment and that it was accepted. She told me its just a call center and the call center does not deal with what that location accepts as far as private insurance! Dishonest and a scam !!

When I first walked in it was super busy! There was a gentlemen by the name of Neil that was super professional and super helpful!!-Later in the conversation we were having he had mentioned that he was short staffed BUT Neil really nailed it in proficiency! !He really went over and beyond for me, and all the customers in front of me before the doors closed!Thank you so much Neill! Not crowded. Friendly staff. Neil was particularly helpful! They seemed organized with the covid situation. I was able to get my glasses in 20 minutes as they had the lenses in stock! Wonderful!

I was warned not to go to this place by *multiple* people. The one star I have to give would go to a couple staff members who were initially great - not the ridiculously rude and careless man and his boss working yesterday around 5.I explained my urgent situation on the phone before I came to the store. They were happy to do the exam and charge me $90. I was all but blind and desperately needed the trial pair you get with your visit. Since they didnt have them in stock (despite the associate saying it wouldnt be a problem over the phone), the two gentleman wouldnt give me a trial pair close to my prescription. I had to walk out blind and scared. They said it wouldnt be 6-8 weeks before the TRIAL pair came in...WOW. mPOLICY ASIDE, they were plain mean, unprofessional, and I wasnt treated like a customer....barely human, really. I dont mind waiting but they saw customer after customer after me (moving figures - because I couldnt see). They could have been decent people and called other stores. I was told good luck or something to that effect and that I could try calling around but that nothing would come from it. So, I did. I FOUND A PAIR! In an hour. While Stanton said my TRIAL pair wouldnt be ready until OCTOBER 7TH (first he said 6-8 weeks.. for a TRIAL PAIR... if I didnt hear from him by that date, he told me to call.I was in tears not knowing how to navigate being responsible for my 3 year old for who knows how long and keeping him safe. They didnt show an ounce of care. They let me walk out knowing how dangerous it was not being able to see, being terrified, and without even trying to problem solve and be good people and employees.Dont waste your moneyAnd thank you for the amazing professional at a different store who not only potentially saved my life, but was SO kind and appalled by what Stanton put me through.

Worst experience I’ve had. The wait time is ALWAYS insane. Then they messed up my prescription so I made an appointment with them for the weekend and they sent me away only to rescheduled me for today. Go in and the doctor isn’t even there. I kept asking for a refund and they keep telling me he will be in soon. An hour after my appointment they call me back. But at that point I’m trying to get a refund because no one knows where the doctor is. The refund took half an hour because they only have one poor employee there to work the front and sell the frames. I feel bad for the employees. They tried to the best of their abilities but this place just does not have it together. Won’t be going here again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful--no complaints about the people. However, the quality of my glasses was horrible. I splurged and bought two pairs of glasses, and I paid extra for better coatings, etc. The lenses were about the same quality as my $15 reading glasses. I was excited to try out Stanton, but I am very disappointed with the cost and the quality of the lenses. Dont waste your money here.

Amazing service! It was busy due to it being Friday and almost closing time. The employees did very well balancing all the costumers. I scheduled on appointment online for 10:05am. I arrived at 9:45am to allow myself time for any necessary paperwork needed. My appointment time came and went without being called. After sitting there for an hour and forty five minutes (which was my bad) we were all informed it would be a two hour wait AND the ONLY doctor available would be leaving for lunch at 12pm.If you were behind, you should have informed everyone when they checked in. I left and scheduled elsewhere. I feel stupid for even waiting that long but very disappointed the staff wasnt informing anyone how behind they were.

Place is NOT having items sanitized. Only nice person there was tech in eye exam area.But all tablets given to clients are not wiped down. People trying on frames and putting back on shelf. Office manager NOT helpful.Too many people and NOT enough help.

I called for an appointment and Fernando scheduled it for me, after work. I went to the local office and several of the men in there were all huddled by talking football, yelling and very unprofessional atmosphere. A young girl came up and said can I help you. I said I has an appointment, so she took me to the back office, and looked in the computer and said I was not scheduled. She ask if I had a confirmation number, and I told her I was not given one. She said so what are you doing here? Very rude. I again stated I had an appointment. Again she rolled her eyes and said I was mistaken. I left, and am not interested in returning. This office is nothing like it appears on TV. This was a definete down grade.

I have witnessed some of the best customer service during stressful pandemic conditions at Stanton Optical near Coronado Center/Uptown Albuquerque. The store is almost always busy and the staff are beautifully trained to process a wide variety of customers and get their needs met as quickly as possible. They still take everyones temperature quickly upon entering. It is heartening to witness the associates often bending over backwards to help care for each and every individual in-depth, regardless of their appearance or financial status. There are many races of people now in Albuquerque, and Stanton serves a wide variety of economic classes. They have helped me many times to fix my glasses, often for free. The glasses Ive received have served me well. I always recommend investing in the Stanton Insurance, especially if youre as hard on frames as I am. This place was a nightmare. Despite making an appointment, I had to wait 45 minutes only to be shown into the eye exam room for a…virtual exam! The “doctor” was in a call center in another country. After then after waiting some more just to get my prescription printed out, I find out from the patronizing salesman wearing a dirty lab coat for no apparent reason, (he’s not a doctor so the coat is just creepy) that they’d gotten my prescription completely wrong. It would be nice if my vision had magically improved, but it hasn’t. Save yourself time and frustration, don’t go here!

Went in today for my very over due contact exam!!! 1st person I encountered was really really nice and helpful. Thats where the helpfulness stopped and the miserable appointment started!!! The video exam was absolutely awful the young lady that performed it was in a hurry and wasnt at all helpful. When it was over I was asked to go sit and wait. Waited, waited and oh yeah waited. When I was helped the young gentleman that ended up helping me had no clue what he was doing or what he was talking about. I was so upset I walked out without my prescription, trial contacts or glasses prescription.

They wasted my time and theirs by intially saying they took my insurance, doing the exam, then trying to charge me saying they actually dont take my insurance anymore and Id have to pay full price. Needless to say, I walked out without a prescription and an entire hour of my day wasted. I NEEDED a new pair of Sunglasses SOON. After waiting for only 10 minutes at Louisiana/Menaul here in Albuquerque, Anika came to help me order a new Pair. I had received a new prescription just a couple of months ago; However, with all the SUN we get here in New Mexico, my eyes were taking a beating.I had selecting a couple of Frames I liked, then Anika assisted me in selecting the RIGHT ones. She CAREFULLY, (with 2 or 3 different computer irregularities), entered my Complex/Compound prescription, and the order is in. You see, I have Cataracts in both eyes, Double Vision, and am a bit slow. (TBI Motorcycle accident)I do SO APPRECIATE a worker that is attentive to me (the Client), and can Multitask @ the same same.I did have an enjoyable time doing this there, as previous shopping had turned me into a REAL NEGATIVE individual. Been trying to just reorder my contacts for two days now. I’m doubting it will happen. Call center can’t get ahold of them regardless of the time of day and neither can I, though I hear office noises briefly before they hang up on me. At this point I just want my prescription so I can go somewhere else but I can’t even get someone to give me that. Pretty sure that’s a hipaa violation. I guess you get what you pay for?

I just completed my exam at stanton optical and it was one of the best experiances I have ever had in 30 years getting annual eye exams. Everything about the visit was great from the cost, prescription, to the excellent staff. They got me in for an exam the next day while every other place in town said it would be months. This is the McDonald’s of eye care. If I cannot tolerate air pressure you can not torture me through it!!! This place is RUDE!!! They will yell at you in front of other customers for asking air pressure exam to be skipped!! Avoid unless you want to be intimidated. There are plenty competitors around.

I made an appointment in store in person for my three year old son. I was called and had this appointment rescheduled twice. When I arrived for this appointment I was told that my son was unable to be seen because despite making an appointment for an in house doctor to check him because of his age, they don’t see any patients under 8. At no point in any of the scheduling was I told this. In fact I was assured the doctor would be able to check him as long as it was an in house doctor and not a telehealth appointment.

When I called to make my appointment I asked MORE than once if Stanton Optical took my insurance, which happens to be medicaid. I explained I was coming a very long distance and needed to know whether they would be able to help me. After a bunch of double talk the fellow finally said they took TONS of different insurance and that they would help me at the front desk when I got there! Well, guess what? They DO NOT take Medicaid but they dont want to tell you that on the phone but instead want to get you in there and attempt a high pressure sale on someone who is POOR to begin with! I wasted ALL that gas and time when they could have JUST SAID on the phone that they didnt take Medicaid. What a high pressure SCAM. And you CAN SAVE that generic response about letting someone know so that it doesnt happen again.With responses like that it becomes BLARINGLY APPARENT no one there gives two hoots.

Surprised by the lack of mask enforcement.Not pleased with the fact that no one is being asked to wear their mask properly while we are indoors with lower ventilation.I thought the staff was supposed to belooking out and enforcing the rule... especially because the appointment setter when I scheduled this appointment impressed upon me how important it was for me to wear one or I wouldnt get my exam.This was an extremely uncomfortable situation. I got an eye exam/glasses here. The 1 star is for the eye exam. The entire eye exam was over zoom. Really struggled seeing through the machine, I had to hold it the entire time. I tried to speak to the optometrist several times to explain I was having difficulties. When I recieved my prescription, I tried to speak with the in person representatives about my prescription. Both of my eyes have been identical prescriptions since I was a child. I tried to explain that both eyes need to be the same. They insisted that the detached optometrist was correct.I recieved my glasses today. I am seeing double. Blurry in one eye, and clear in the other. Everyone comments on the affordability Stanton Optical, but any price is too much for incorrect glasses.The representative did help with frames, and discussing lens types. He was polite, but clearly untrained. Also, the customer service is not great. They repeatedly leave while talking with you. Not kidding, every single time the door opens, they abandon the conversation and run to the front.Please do not get an eye exam here, ESPECIALLY if it is for a child or a first time buyer that does not know better.

Not happy !! Spent $200 on one pair of glasses (which the frames were on sale for $25) and they didnt get my prescription right the first exam. Had to do a second eye exam and they had to send them out again.. Been waiting for three weeks to pick them up and they still are not right !! Now they want me to go in a third time !! Eye exam took some time to get me back but it was very busy at the time. Exam was with doctor on the TV screen which I was not prepared for but it was OK I guess, I like the live person personally. As far as purchasing the glasses Tori helped me and she was fantastic and honestly thats why I giving this place 5 stars. She was very helpful and also did not rush me. She talked to me like a person which is rare these days and gave me her personal opinion in helping me choose my glasses. If I could give no stars I would. The website says they take any insurance and when I got there they said they were not contacted with my insurance. But sitting there watching other people being checked in they said that to everyone. I never saw a Doctor. They did not help me or my partner learn how to put on contacts or take of. Ripe off. Advertises price of 2 for $59.95 is a Straight up scam to get people in to the store.

By far one of the worst places to go. If it was up to me this place wouldn’t even get 1 star. Don’t bother making an appointment because you won’t be seen until an hour later. Granted this was my recheck appointment. I was charged for contact lens exam and was only given a prescription for eye glasses because they couldn’t find my receipt in their system. So now I’m having to make a third trip to show proof of what I paid for. Some of the employees were nice but have no common sense or knowledge. Very poor structure and no organization. You’re better off going to EyeMart.

They don’t accept most insurance including Medicaid, the “buy one get one free “thing means absolutely nothing at all, so disregard it . Their eye examination is cheap, and it quickly becomes apparent why this is . It’s basically a retail store that wants to deal in cash. I recommend eyemart because they deal with all insurance including eye screening

Same story as everyone else.....asked if they accepted my insurance....got a bunch of run around. I literally thought I was talking to a machine and asked to speak to a live person. She said she was real. Um ok. Then you are reading from a script. I said I know you know whether or not you accept my insurance....but they just insist you come in. Why? I do not recommend this place to anyone! My appointment was at 5:20 pm and I was seen until an hour later, then I wasn’t prepared for video conferencing call with the eye doctor. My exam time wasn’t long, but I was left in the exam room for 45 minutes after my exam, I finally crawled out from behind the machine and wandered around trying to find someone, I finally approached a guy in a white coat and told him my experience, he shrugged my complaint and told me to pick out glasses! I was offered specials while making my appointment. I mentioned them to the store manager Rodney who was helping me, he looked at me like I was crazy! I paid $400.00 and he said he saved me $200.00! I don’t think so, now I was told my glasses and contacts would arrive Monday, I followed up and I was told by customer service I would receive them until May 8th! Wow! This place is the worst! Go somewhere else, I left the place after 8:15 pm!!

This store overbooked their appointment the first day when I was supposed to be there, they called me the sáldate of the appointment to reschedule, when I showed up to the rescheduled appointment there was way too many people and only two exam rooms. I was able to get our exam done one hour after the time scheduled and there was a lot of people complaining about the same situation. I got two pairs, one the same day which was great but for the second pair they told me it would take between one and two weeks. A week after the appointment they sent me an alert to pick them up and when I showed up to get them they took one hour looking for my glasses just to tell me AFTER ONE HOUR that the notification I received was for the glasses that I took home the first day and not for the pair that I am still waiting on. I lost 2 hours of my work day just for nothing. I would not recommend this place to anyone.Thanks for the response but that doesn’t pay my two hours that I took out of my work day to pick up the glasses that were not there!!

I showed up for my appointment 5 minutes before the scheduled time, and waited 90 minutes to be seen. The ladies managing the reception area were nice and friendly, and the only reason I am giving two stars instead of one. The optometrists I spoke to were rude and curt with me, and made me feel like I was in their way. I asked if my prescription came with the PD and one looked and me and said. “Well no, I would HAVE to do that especially for you.” I asked him to do it and then he put the machine in my face, said nothing, and scribbled it down on a card and walked away. The other employee who helped me looked at the card and said “I THINK, that’s a 35?” He wrote it down so bad we couldn’t tell what it said. I was going to buy contact lenses but by that point I was there 3 HOURS past my appointment time and I just wanted to leave. I was very disappointed.

Yesterday I needed contacts because I got tired of wearing glasses. Everyone was real nice here. I set my appointment up by phone the same day. Was seen in less than 20 mins . Total time maybe 1 hour . Chloe I believe was the name of person who helped me. I think thats how her name is spelled. She was very nice and helpful, as well as professional. Thanks for everything ! Even though I have a stigmatism but the price was not to bad even though it usually is more. Total price out the door with exam and one month of contacts was about 220$. Great place. Thanks again!

I worked with Jen both times, we had to reschedule to see the in-house dr (my son has a very high prescription) she was able to get him in quite soon so we didn’t have to wait weeks or even months like other places. When in the exam room and the ordering process she explained everything. It was quite busy but she always made sure my son and I were her main priority. She understood my budget and didn’t push a sale on me. She went over everything from questions on what were my sons main concerns/needs in a pair of glasses to when they would be ready. She even offered to mail them. Very pleased with the service and attentive staff.

I called to see if they accepted my insurance. I was informed I would have to bring my Insurance card in to find that out. The exchange felt like a high pressure sales pitch, and was very manipulative. This policy is very inconsiderate of your time. Before the pandemic this wouldnt have been acceptable. But during a pandemic it borders on Criminal. I am a high-risk patien, and for a year now I have stayed home. It would be frivolous to go there just to find out whether or not they take my insurance!

This is my second visit to Stanton Optical but the first at the East side location. There is nothing like walking into a business and having five employees look you up and down, make eye contact with you and then not say a word after you’ve said hi. I stood at the outside desk for a solid 5 minutes before I saw someone at the eye exam counter. Which then she asks if they took my temperature, ya no one said “hi kiss my rear or anything.” I’ll get my glasses online, thanks. The west side location was much better. So overall I waited an hour for a ten minute appointment. I could tell the girls in the eye exam area did not know how to prioritize task times. The Dilbert looking short guy was still too busy flirting with the girls to even acknowledge me at the front. Rodney checked me out and was very kind but they charged me the full amount of $7 tax on a copayment of $20.I have seen clinics in the third world run better and I would definitely only go to the West side.

I was in & out . The tech Justine was so sweet and when she did the machines on me she explained each one of them the air puffer she just said “it checks my pressures “ she didn’t mention that it blows air and that was smart of her because she got it done the first try & was quick! I was confused with my insurance plan and she explained it all to me after my exam Rodney helped me get my glasses order and he was just so nice and made sure I left here with everything taken care of . I was in & our within 45 min I will be back in two years

Neal is the best. I go here everytime I need to get an eye exam. I take my family there for their eye exams. They are very nice and certius and if you have trouble with your glasses they will help you.

If I I could give 10 stars I would. I called to get my prescription emailed to me due to the lockdown starting soon. I spoke with Justine and she assured me that I would receive it. Later that day I received a call from Jennifer asking if I received it and if had any other questions to call and that you would be open. I am not sure what department they work in but the attention to detail and making me feel like their number one priority was very comforting. Please let them know how grateful I am for their attention to detail. Very fine staff you have! Keep up the great work.

I was hesitant to post a review but this is the second time I had a negative experience. I had appointments for both of my experiences. The first time I went in, they were running over an hour late. The second time, I got through the exam portion in a reasonable amount of time and then it took an hour to pay for my eye exam and get my prescription. I would not recommend supporting this business.

I would never go back April 22 21 our first time there my daughter had an appointment for a eye exam at 9:45 didnt get seen until 11:00 was not even told that we were not seen a in house dr and got an eye exam with someone on tv screen. Had to go back to see a in house dr because she could see out of her glasses had an appointment at 3:30 didnt get seen until 4:50 then the doctor suggest bifocals I have him her last prescription from the year before so he finally gave her another prescription closer to what she had so lets see if she can see out of those if not I will be going in to get a refund and taking her to someone else that knows what they are doing.

Made an appointment online received my email confirmation and arrived to be told they didn’t see my name, I walked in with my girlfriend greeted and temp checked by someone to 10 minutes later be asked by that same person for me to sit across the room from her because of COVID. Glad you asked me to move from someone you saw me clearly arrive with to move me closer to someone I don’t know risking more exposure.Find literally anywhere else to go to get your vision needs taken care of
