Absolutely the best place to shop for a dress in New Mexico! I was worried about how the service would be due to COVID, but these ladies made my dress shopping day super special! They took their time showing me the styles I had in mind, and the styles they thought I might like, and were very professional and kind to me the entire time. Darlene and her team were an honest to goodness dream when it came to getting my dress, my bridesmaid dresses, and even my moms dress taken care of. The absolute best place to get a dress for any occasion is Bridal Elegance by Darlene! I have known Darlene for many years and my son got getting married this passed August, so I finally had an occasion to wear one of her beautiful dresses. I havent worn a dress in decades and Darlene helped me pick out multiple dresses in different styles to try on. She actually picked the two I fell in love with! They were dresses that I personally wouldnt have never even chosen to tried on. She knew what style would look best on me much more than I did. She did a perfect job on my alterations and bent over backwards to get to fit just right! They have a great selection in the shop in all price range and if they dont have it they can definitely get it for you. It was a great experience and so fun. Worst place I have ever been in my life Walmart has better service than them. They act bothered I was there and like I was an inconvenience. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Every person there is rude I left within 5 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone not even my worst enemy worst experience of my life I almost cried because of how rude they were.

Darlene and her wedding dress consultants make you feel so at home when you are there and can come out with the perfect dress. My daughter tried on several dresses and the on the consultant picked out was the one she chose. They work with your budget and have some of the most amazing selection. I loved it so much I took my other daughter for her prom dress. I also bought my mother of the bride dress and the grandmothers dress there. I am the first to refer people to this place when they are getting married.

They are lucky because I love my dress. At first, picking out and ordering my dress was fine. The store could definitely use some renovations and updates but like I said, it was fine. I ordered the size I was at the time even though I planned to lose weight but they mentioned they could always alter it for me. *They mentioned many times that they do their own alterations. So about a month after picking and ordering my dress I went back to try on shoes with the dress. I mentioned after deciding on shoes that a belt I had tried on, wouldnt work with the shoes I had chosen and I would need something in another color. Anyway months about 7 months go by and my dress finally comes in. I go in to try it on, I take my shoes and jewelery I had ordered to try on with the dress. I put the dress on and there is the belt that I told them 6 months ago I did not want. They tell me pretty much too bad that they ordered it and there is no returning it if I had changed my mind (even though I told them forever ago that I did not want it. The belt was $250!) Strike 1. After that I tell them that I need the straps and waist altered and all of a sudden they say they no longer do alterations! At this point Im done and frustrated about their lack of communication and customer service. I wish I would have found my dress at Ann Matthews. They made my experience awesome but I had to follow the the dress that I felt was right for me. I will not be recommending them anytime soon.

By far the worst place to go for a dress. If I could I would give 0/5. You are rushed, the employees are rude and talk about you right outside the changing room where you can hear them. My sister had a lower than average budget because her fiancé is in the Air-force in Germany so they wanted a cheaper route to move her there and as soon as we told them her pricing their attitudes changed to disrespectful. I worked retail before, whether the customer was spending $1 or $5000 I treated everyone with the same respect. It took everything I had not to call them out on their behavior. Will not be shopping here again and will not recommend this place to anyone.

All the staff at Bridal Elegance by Darlene were friendly and eager to help me find the perfect dress! The boutique is organized, clean and welcoming! Darlene is very professional and she will definitely take care of you every step of the way. She helped me find a beautiful wedding dress that was within my budget. I didnt feel any pressure to try on more expensive dresses. In addition to purchasing my dress here, I also had all the alterations done with Darlene. I am more than pleased with the end product and 100% would refer her to a friend. I cant wait to wear my dress in September!

Originally, I posted a 5 star review. The first time we entered Bridal Elegance the girls were so nice. Found different dresses and made the experience great! After the 3rd visit (alterations made to fit), I needed a minor adjustment. In mentioning so, the employees had an AWFUL attitude. The moment I spoke up about the minor detail, they were offended and made rude comments up until we left the building. I believe it was the daughter of Darlene that mouthed off several times. She was very disrespectful to my mom and friends. On the bright side, Darlene (owner) is an absolute sweetheart. She did the most that she could. The girls working under her really take back from the brides experience and act in an extremely unprofessional manner

Great experience! I found that they had a great variety options at several different price points. Their help and help with alterations was also very helpful. They were able to add straps onto my sleeveless dress with the option to “snap” them off if I wanted to on the wedding day. They also have a nice set up where you can bring family members to help you as you try on dresses. Definitely recommend! Thank you Darlene!

My experience at Bridal Elegance was great! The staff were so friendly and helpful. They helped with the dresses I picked out but also suggested some that would look good on my body type and that helped tremendously because I never wear dresses. So I had zero knowledge of dress types. Darlene really knows this field and is so nice. After I put a dress on they would pin it to fit my body better so it gave me a good idea how it would really look once it was taken in. The selection of dresses were wonderful. I loved my dress so much and after they adjusted it, it fit like a glove. I am happy to say they were a part of one of the most important days of my life!

I have gone to bridal elegance by Darlene 3 times in the past year bringing my daughter in law, a friend, and my nephews fiancee to search for their wedding dresses. They are super friendly and attentive. I called ahead of time and told them my style and they picked some for me to try and the third dress I tried on was perfect!

If you are looking for an experience out of “Say Yes to the Dress,” this is not your store. The consultants were nice, but they do not give you as much attention as you get other places. When you come in they give you a book with pictures of their selection of dresses and you put paper clips on the ones you like. They then pull those and bring you back to the dressing room and basically just lace up the back and have you go to the front to show everyone. They don’t ask about details of your wedding, don’t stand with you while you show the dress to family, and their podiums are tiny which makes turning by yourself in big gowns super hard. I also found them a bit pushy, as they knew I had another appointment and tried to commit me to a dress before I left. Overall cleanliness of the store also wasn’t up to the standards of other places and I found the selection lacking a little elegance. I went to three places overall and this was the one I preferred least

Wonderful dress shop!! I loved my experience here, they make it easy to pick dress options to try on, and had beautiful selections. We also got flower girl dresses and a dress for the grandmother of the bride here, and loved them all. They were willing to work with us on alterations and made everything just right! I 100% recommend!

I LOVE Darlene and her staff. They are very knowledgeable, polite, helpful and have a great selection. I bought my prom dress here many years ago and my wedding dress more recently. They were so helpful in finding what style looked best on me. I also bought my headdress here, which I absolutely loved!! This place does not care about your experience as a bride. If you are looking to feel special while trying on wedding gowns, this is not the place. They don’t help you into your dresses, do not provide any undergarments, and don’t even fluff out the trains for you. My family and I were treated so poorly here and I highly recommend no one else suffers this treatment. Please do yourself a favor and go to uptown bride or David’s bridal.

Darlene’s shop is unpretentious. Buying a bridal gown is a big deal and the experience should be special. I didn’t feel out of place inside the store. Every bride has a vision of how she wants to look on her special day. Darlene and her staff delivered. I looked everywhere but nothing compared to the quality, service and selection of gowns at Bridal Elegance. Darlene knows what will look best on your body type. Her staff made suggestions I never thought I would try on but looked better than what I chose. They knew just what kind of veil and accessories to wear too. Darlene’s experience lead me to the special gown for the outdoor, summer, garden wedding I had planned. The roses on my dress were unique and perfect for the setting. There is something beautiful at every price point. I enjoyed the experience so much, I now go back for special occasion dresses. Darlene, her staff and the dresses are the best!

If I could give no stars I would. They made our bride CRY! This was supposed to be an amazing experience for her and they made her feel like an inconvenience! The process was also strange... Look in this book, paper clip the ones you like and try on dresses... They didnt ask for any details about her special day. She wanted a dress to be able to swing dance in and they kept bringing dresses that were floor length with trains. When she didnt like a dress the sales person was annoyed. While we were there I made her an appointment for Davids Bridal tomorrow. Im so frustrated with this place. To ruin a young ladies special experience is disgusting!

Finding the perfect wedding dress was fun and stress-free at Bridal Elegance by Darlene! Im 511 and a size 18, so I was nervous about finding the perfect dress. She and her staff went above and beyond showing me many different selections and styles. With their help, I did find the perfect dress and I felt beautiful wearing it! The price was very reasonable and the tailoring was flawless. If I ever need another dress, formal or otherwise, Ill definitely be going back. Dont waste your time going to any of the chain stores because youll get better than you expect with Darlene- especially if youre a real-size girl like me!

I am only giving 2 stars because there are some pretty dresses. Otherwise, I would give them 1 star... or none of that were an option. I went here with my friend who was shopping for her dress. The service is awful but the dress selection is good. The people working here were very rude and unhelpful. They don’t help you try on the dress and they don’t pay attention when you are looking at the dress in the mirror. On top of that they are extremely rude when they do interact with you. We felt very unwelcome. It is unfortunate because they do have some very pretty dresses. It is hard to get excited about a dress when you feel like the people working there just want you to leave.

I bought a wedding dress from them a while back and since then I had lost 40lbs!!! I had to get my dress altered but the jacket that came with it was too big and the seamstress didn’t want to adjust it because it was all lace and my wedding was in two weeks!! I went back to bridal elegance and brought them my jacket they swapped it out for a smaller size no charge I was so grateful to them I was able to keep the dress I picked and the jacket fit perfectly thank you guys so much!!!!!!

The dresses are one of a kind and beautiful, I never have the same gown as anyone else and my dress is always a show stopper! When we first got there, before they asked my name, they said “no food or drink” which it was water, but ok. I had an appointment and she sat us down and then asked if she could take 1 of our chairs for another bridal party. 4 of us, 3 chairs now. I was given a binder to look at, with no pricing and a few paper clips to mark the dresses I liked. When she took me back, she knew I was a 16, but the first dress she had me get into was a 10, the next dress was a 14. I felt defeated. She also knew my budget and still had me try on dresses double my budget. I felt rushed and I was told it would be rush shipping for a dress I needed in June and if I decide to get a dress I would need to put the down payment before 5PM or I wouldn’t get $50 off. Needless to say, we left without the dress 👋🏼

If I could give this place no stars I absolutely would! The customer service is AWFUL! It’s your job to make the bride feel special while trying to find the perfect dress for their big day. This place did the absolute opposite. The attitude and disrespect we received from the manager was graceless! from the moment we walked in we felt unwelcome! She was tossing chairs around with attitude making it seem like we were a burden in her schedule. For a place that claims they “care so much about their guests” Is absolutely uncalled for! I’m very disappointed in this store and will never return!!!

I have been modeling dresses for Darlene for several years. The store was a little hard to find at first (for those of us directionally challenged), but nothing a little GPS could solve. Im always amazed at her collection- the latest styles, colors, and even several from one of my favorite designers Maggie Sottero collections. To top it off, Darlene, her daughter, and Danielle greet you by name and always take the time to work with you. Fittings never feel rushed and its fun to try everything on. Everything is always clean and well-organized.Walk-ins are welcome, but it is encouraged to call ahead- that way youll be able to spend more time for the dress youre looking for, whether that be bridal, bridesmaid, flower girl, evening gown, special occasion, even prom dresses. (I always find at least one gown or two that Im tempted to take home). Darlene has it all!

I had the best experience! Danielle was the sweetest, most attentive person I could have ever asked to help me. I went to a few other bridal shops, but none of them came close. Danielle pulled the most unique yet beautiful dresses for me all within my budget. She pulled so many beautiful dresses which made it hard to choose and leave with just one! Her expertise and amazing personality helped me find the perfect dress for my big day. She is amazing at her job and makes you feel so comfortable. She cares about what you want and really takes the time to make sure she pulls great dresses.

Their attention to detail is flawless - and they WILL make sure your dress fits properly. The dresses at the windows were outdated but I still thought I’d give it a shot. I went in with low expectations as this was my first fitting. The staff was NOT personable or friendly. As I sat paper clipping styles that I liked in my earshot they talked about how much money they made off of the bride that had just left. Unprofessional if you ask me. They did bring out some nice dress options & even a potential dress that I loved but their customer service skills were so poor that I was completely turned off to purchasing anything from them. They didn’t care about the details... they didn’t introduce themselves to me, or my guests, they knew this was my first fitting & didn’t provide any education around dress shopping, very sloppily wrote down the dresses that I liked behind a business card, the place was rundown as was the staff. These negative reviews don’t lie!

My daughters and I have been getting dresses from Darlene for years and have loved them all! The store has a great selection of dresses. Both of my daughters got their wedding dresses from the shop and we appreciated the help Darlene gave us through the process.

I ordered my wedding gown from here. Customer service is generally minimal but fine throughout the process. Darlene is very sweet, but a couple of other women who were working here were not very professional. When I went to pick up my dress it had some blood stains from where they pricked their finger & minor other dirt stains. They completely downplayed that they had gotten my brand new wedding gown dirty & bloody, but ended up steaming my gown and veil for free which I why I give three stars instead of two. I would recommend checking your dress closely before taking it out of the store.Downgrading from three to two stars because the bustle they did on my dress didn’t hold whatsoever on my wedding night.

This is a basic little shop and they customize dresses to their customers needs, like if you like a certain dress they can get it in another color, which is super helpful. However, they dont offer refunds or returns, which is problematic. I purchased an item and 2 weeks later realized I needed something different. They dont offer refunds! Even after just 2 weeks! If this were a dinky item I might have rolled my eyes and brushed it off but it was $70! If they had said at the get-go, By the way, all purchases are non-refundable, I might have taken my time and waited to make my purchase. I dont think Ill be returning to this store or referring my bridal party here. Lesson learned.And a quick heads up- If you need to try on a dress youve purchased from another shop, their policy is that they will only let you try it on during a weekday and by appointment only.

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews on here! I visited the shop over the weekend and found THE perfect dress! I really appreciated that the staff did not try and pressure me into buying anything. They let me know the price of each gown, and only had me try on dresses that were within my budget. I was so pleased by their customer service that I purchased my gown that day. I did not feel the need to look any further. I would definitely recommend this shop to any bride to be!

Each of the attendants were so kind and helpful as we were looking at wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses. Super professional staff and they had gowns that were beautiful for any budget. We will definitely recommend Bridal Elegance by Darlene to all we know.

I am not happy with this place at all. I trusted them to make sure my dress was fixed like they said it would be. The ladies there are nice and helpful but when I went to pick up my dress I noticed that the dress was dirty the zipper was still broken when they said they were going to fix it for me its like they just put it right in the bag without caring and not keeping there promise. If you get a dress from here I recommend for you to check the dress before you buy it and check if its clean and fixed.

My sister is getting married very soon, and we needed to find a special dress for her (soon to be) Mother in-law.Finding a dress that makes a, two time breast cancer survivor, feel pretty could have been very hard.But the kind help, and beautiful gown made it a joy, and brought her to tears.Not only was the dress better than anything found in Dillards, Macys, and all the other typical clothing stores, it was an amazing price.You can expect to pay a lot for a full ball gown, but our perfect dress was 200$ marked down from 500$.It made her look like a queen, and she saw herself as beautiful, which I feel is most important.Darlene was so kind, so helpful; I feel we owe her a real debt of gratitude.Bridal Elegance by Darlene, is the best by far!

I have been a customer for Bridal Elegance by Darlene for years! My daughter and I have gotten many many dresses here, all completely unique, beautiful, and always fitted to our liking. I have never had a bad experience!

I went in on a whim one day knowing appointments are usually necessary for bridal boutiques... no problem. I figured Id check out what they had on the rack and make an appointment to try on other stuff next time. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me no appointments were necessary, and since I had in mind a couple of gowns I wanted to try on already (including the gown I was 99% sure I wanted to go with), it made the process fast. Unfortunately, thats when everything went downhill. Beyond her bringing me the gowns and helping me put them on, there was absolutely NO customer service. Being short, I had a lot of questions regarding what sort of alterations would be needed to make the various gowns fit my body. She had no idea and made no effort to find out. I also asked if she had anything beyond the three gowns I requested that I might be interested in and she just shrugged and brought out one dress and then pretty much said, Thanks,see you later. I was IN LOVE with one of the gowns and had she even requested to make a follow-up appointment, I probably would have bought it. As it was, though, I felt pushed out and like they didnt care about me or my business... they lost out on a $2,500+ sale because they couldnt be bothered to answer questions. I ended up going to Brides by Demetrios and falling in love with another gown and paying a lot less, so I guess it all worked out in the end.

I had an excellent experience at Darlenes. They had a variety of dresses for me to try on. They answered all my questions, were very patient with my decision process, and very helpful. They were very professional, yet they made me feel like I had known them my whole life, which I loved! I will defiantly be back to get dresses in the future from them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding/formal dress.

My experience would have been better if the staff didnt rush us. Felt like they didnt really want to help us. And the prices are pretty high compared to to her shops.

Darlene is great. I would never go anywhere else in Albuquerque. She has a great selection for all body types and goes out of her way to provide a professional personalized experience. When I got married I was living outside of DC. My dress had been altered so many times that it no longer looked right and it still was too big. Darlene and her team were able to make the dress not only fit but look beautiful. You can really tell when a person loves what they do because the put love into it. Darlene does just that.

I loved my experience with this Bridal boutique! They suggested the dress that I ultimately picked and I couldnt have loved it more! They were professional, excited, and helpful. My alterations and the pickup were flawless and I hope others stop at this boutique first!

Not my favorite shop. They had a nice selection of dresses, and the associates were relatively nice. On the downside, the associate helping me brought dresses that were over my budget. I loved a dress but it was twice what I was hoping to send. There were a lot of other people in the shop the day I went because of some media event. I felt like most of the workers were disinterested in me. My experience would likely have been better had I arrived on a different day.

Associates were not very friendly. Not helpful. Had us flag photos of dresses with no price range, then eliminated them after we wasted time choosing them. There was an older male working there who kept walking back where the dressing rooms were. My sister and her underwear were exposed and I had to shut the curtain for privacy. Totally bad experience. Will never go back and will never recommend to anyone. Avoid this place.

I hit up every single Bridal shop in ABQ before I found my dress at Bridal Elegance. Ill be honest, Id never heard of them before but they ended up having and being exactly what i was looking for. Finding THE dress is one thing but I want to review the experience. Darlene and her crew were warm, inviting, like your best friend who is just as excited about you being a bride as you are. They are the opposite of the big box, national retailers who treat you as a mere customer looking for a product. I dont think this really struck a chord with me until I had chosen my dress and brought my bridesmaids back to find their dresses. I had a particular color in mind but I wanted the dresses to have a lace attribute. Unfortunately, lace is a little limited in color. The dress I wanted and the color I wanted werent manufactured together. Danielle called the manufacturer and asked if we could order the dress but swap out the color from another style they manufacture. She called me back the very next day, as promised, and confirmed they could make the switch. It was a small thing that I felt I was being nit-picky about but they never made me feel like I was asking too much. They also remembered me every time I stopped in which is, sad to say, really hard to come by these days. They are just real people who love what they do for their brides.

When you go in you better have a high budget.... because if you don’t they will not give you the time of day! Awful experience! Make sure you also take help with you when you try on the dresses. The only thing they help you with is zipping up.

Staff was friendly and helpful, when I described what I was looking for, they had several options.I needed a formal dress for a movie set...I found the perfect one and the perfect fit...they hemmed immediately...Thank You Darlene and Staff❤

Have been a customer of Darlene’s Bridal shop for years. My daughters purchased their Wedding dresses from Darlene’s. I have now purchased prom and graduation dresses for my granddaughters. I recently purchased my dress from Arizona as Bridal Elegance by Darlene couldn’t get the sample dress I wanted in, to try on. Arizona was the closest place for me to drive and try on this beautiful Maggie Sottero dress. I was happy with the dress and made the purchase as any bride would do at that time. I also knew back home this local business, Bridal Elegance by Darlene sold Maggie Sottero dresses and figured they could alter my dress come closer to my wedding date. When I called today to get more information of when to take my dress in for alterations, the lady on the phone responded that they usually do alterations 1 month before the wedding and asked if I purchased my dress from them. I replied that I did not but wanted them to alter my dress. She told me that they wouldn’t be able to alter my wedding dress. When I asked her why, her response was, “if you didn’t purchase the dress through us (Bridal Elegance by Darlene) they wouldn’t be able to alter it.” So after she stated this, I asked to clarify, that if I had purchased my dress from them, would they do my dress alterations?? She replied on the phone with this overly sarcastic trying to be well-mannered voice by saying, “yes, we would absolutely love to alter your dress if you purchased it from us!”Needless to say, I will be giving my money to a business that is a little more professional and willing to do business.

My lady and I had a great experience here. The ladies that work here, felt like family, and were more than willing to go above and beyond to make us happy. They were kind, considerate and were willing to make us comfortable, and they made my wife to be, feel very special. Great shop, and great prices.

I went to Davids, I went to Alfred Angelo, I went to Ann Matthews, I wasted SO MUCH time at those places. I wish I went here to begin with.This place deserves SO MANY STARS!!!I really should have left a review MUCH earlier but better late than never!Darlene and her staff are the best! They all eventually knew me and my mother by name ( and sisters by face which was incredibly useful because they picked up the dress whedn I didnt have time to!) and they had no problem making last minute alterations so long as I was as happy as can be(which I was!). Darlene and her staff are fabulous at reading people, knowing what they want and getting EXACTLY that plus what looks best.I got started dress shopping late and they worked with me even though I was essentially last minute shopping. I had drove into Albuquerque from Colorado, extremely excited to start planning my wedding and choosing my dress whenever I made an appointment with Bridal Elegnace by Darlene, whenever I showed up they didn’t ask me my name, they sat my mother in front of another brides family so the other bride and I had to compete over one stool. They had us flag dresses we liked in a book that had no price ranges on them at all. They didn’t take time to measure me and completely rushed me to take walk-ins instead. I was trying to have an amazing day but left feeling disappointed that I drove nearly 6 hours to have a horrible first dress shopping experience. This is absolutely not worth the time, I didn’t feel like a bride I felt more like a burden. Especially since I was in and out within 30 minutes.

This place is not worth the time or energy! I went in and Darlene was completely unprofessional! Seemed like all she cared about was money. The staff there was not interested in what your budget is, your style, or even care to measure you. They just pick out what they think you want or what size they think you wear. I have told my family and friends to never come here. They have made sure to tell their friends and family who are looking for a dress, to not come either.

I went last year to look at wedding dresses for my sister and they where very rude. They do not care about the customers. They give you a binder with pictures of models you have to choose from there and they do not have the prices for the dresses.

If come to see Darlene you will definitely say Yes to the Dress! D

This was not the bridal dress shopping that Id hoped for. From the moment that we walked it the sales ladies were rude. Did not give me the dresses that they had asked me to pick from the book, instead they kept bringing awful dresses.. Dont waste your time, go to a classier place and get treated like this is the most important purchase in your life place.Dress were overpriced and quality was not there.

I attended this place with a girlfriend of mine getting married. We only went as it was suggested by someone. I was not impressed with the location, the shop set up or the reception. Staff was not particularly friendly. Darlene gave no consultation what so ever regarding what she may been looking for or what style she would like. She gave my friend a huge binder with a ton of different dress styles all worn by ity bity models, gave her 6 paperclips and said to paperclip the ones she liked. What?? And the kicker is the whole appointment is 1 hour. You have no option to view the dresses, touch them, feel them.. Nope you get to paperclip them. You cant imagine yourself in a dress while looking at the gorgeous model in it .. Youre being set up for an unhappy experience. After selecting the handful of dresses they did a poor job of helping her in and out of them. The stock dresses were torn, dirty and unpleasant to the eye. The individual helping her was high pressure sales. My friend hadnt even gotten to see herself in the dress before they told her how much it would be if she took it that day and how much down payment she needed. It felt like a salesman at a used car lot. Very uncomfortable. Evey bride is entitled to the ultimate experience of feeling like the attention is on her and she feels beautiful and that is not the experience you get here. I would not recommend this dive of a bridal shop to anyone.
