Chris at Land Rover Albany, took great care of my 2009 LR3. I brought it in with a window defect, and they changed the regulator and switch. They also did a maintenance inspection and found nothing else to be replaced. So much better experience than LAnd Rover in Manhattan, that did stuff I did not ask for or approve. I will definitely take my LR back again to Albany

Third visit to the location. Staff is very professional and accommodating. Tech team is knowledgeable and honest. Prices are dealership prices, but you know that they are going to take care of you for the money you spend. Would highly recomend.

Let’s see. No AC in my car. It’s been in the high 80’s and 90’s. No rental. It’s been weeks, but they will call me when the part comes in. Awesome. I then called to see about trading this car in for a new one. No call back. The initial sales person was the absolute worse. I wish I never bought from here. The GM was even worse. I will never, ever do business here again. How do you buy a Range Rover and have this many issues? There are SO many other cars out there. DONT DO IT! Get yourself a nice Benz or BMW, their sales and service were phenomenal when I had those cars!

Had a terrific experience. Stephen my salesman was GREAT! Took 2 weeks to get my vehicle only because I wanted a factory tow hitch installed which they even sent the new bumper piece out to get paint the same color as my SUV. Also during my test drive I asked them to look at the front noise and they ended up putting new rotors and pads on all the way around. They even put me in one of there vehicles while I waited for mine to be ready. My Discovery Sport is really nice. Ive never been happier. Wow what a nice ride.Thank you Land Rover....

Chris the service manager at Albany Land Rover is outstanding in customer service. He went above and beyond to do what was needed to obtain the informaon needed to present my case to the corporate Land Rover oce. He made sure the voice of the customer was heard, and that every avenue possible was addressed. He is an example of how the service industry should interface with customers. It is unfortunate that the decision made by you corporate ocials made have turned this consumer to away from your product line. My 2011 LR2 had a history of helix assembly issues. It is obvious to me, and other mechanical experts in the &eld that your product has a design aw. In the past I have been a spokesman for Land Roved products, and their design integrity. A)er this experience I will no longer be able to do so. I’m a mechanical design engineer with experience in the automove industry, medical devices, aerospace and military hardware. Design integrity is something I live by. It’s unfortunate that your corporaon does not.

I bought a CPO Ranger Rover from them and it was obvious they did not properly do the 165 - point checklist. They checked off boxes of options my vehicle did not have, saying the options worked properly, there was rust under the vehicle, fluids werent checked (rusted plugs), filters were not changed and the brakes were in terrible condition. Once called out on it, they did fix everything. My recommendation would be the following. Prior to buying a CPO vehicle from them bring it to an independent shop to make sure everything has been done. Remember, they are the only dealership in the area so it is difficult to get a service appointment and the parts department charges full msrp on everything (you can find parts cheaper from other Land Rover dealers online or British Atlantic). NEVER buy one of these vehicles without a warranty, they are rated one of the WORST for RELIABILITY.

In looking at reviews this dealership (Also know as Capitol Luxury Cars) is plummeting at an alarming rate. I did not purchase my car from this dealership however it is the closest Land Rover dealership to me so I had them provide a recall service to me on a selenoid. While the service manager I spoke with (Chris) was always pleasant and tried to make right, the experience is short of a nightmare.After the recall service my car was hand washed as a courtesy. Upon return my car was scratched beyond belief. THE ENTIRE CAR. Right down to the rims. It was as though a thick bristled brushed had gone over the entire thing. I promptly called and complained as was asked to send it back over for them to see in person. When they saw it in person they agreed that it looked terrible and advised they would send my car to a local ?body shop? and have it buffed out from from to back. Days later Chris called to tell me my car looked beautiful and was being delivered back to me.The flatbed hadnt even left the yard and I was taking photos and texting them to Chris as the Buff job made the car even worse. This buffer clearly got away from the operator several times and there are large swipe marks all over the car.It was at this point that I got completely ghosted by the dealership and have since had to file an insurance claim. The appraiser came out today to review the damage and advised that all of the plastic on my car needs to be replaced as the scratches cannot be fixed. Rims will need to be sand blasted and re-painted and the car will require PROFESSIONAL buffing front to back.

My lease was coming to a close and I was having issues contacting my original Land Rover dealership to discuss options. No one was returning my calls and emails. I was browsing inventory at other dealerships and fell in love with a 2021 Range Rover Sport that Capital Luxury Cars had on their lot. I called and spoke to Steve who told me what he needed me to email him to get the process going. Within two days the deal was done, and I went to pick up my new vehicle! I was so pleasantly surprised by how fast and efficient things were accomplished. The staff upon arrival greeted me cordially and I was in and out after paperwork and going over the car within 45 minutes. This was definitely the best experience I’ve had thus far at a car dealership. Highly recommend!

I am giving 3 stars because I had to work with 3 different people in order to get answers. The first two (Tom and Jayshawn - not sure on spelling) completely stopped responding to emails and phone calls with no reason whatsoever despite my repeated efforts. Once I started to work with Andy, the sales manager, everything was smooth sailing. He was responsive, attentive and diligent. I didn’t get any reason why the other two ignored me though, nor did either of them reach out to apologize or explain. That would have made my experience better.The car is awesome and Andy was great! The rest of the process was a nightmare and took 3 weeks.

Service department is horrible. We have yet to take our car in for SCHEDULED service and have it back same day or even the next. This time it was a simple oil change. Dropped it off the night before as we always do. Car was not done on day 1 we would have to wait until next day. This was only an oil change (last time they had it for 3 days - was only supposed to be for 1 day - it was for a computer upgrade).Day AFTER oil change called to find out where the car was. They said they would drop it off because I was mad and didn’t have a way to come and get it as I wasn’t planning for them to have the car for 2 days. Car never showed up. Called as soon as they opened (now day 3). Apologized for not getting the car to us yesterday, their driver left early for the day (not my problem) and that they would have him leave ASAP to deliver the car.They are horrible. They don’t care as they are the only game in town. My husband has been complaining about the door handle on the driver’s side. Falls off whenever he goes through the car wash so now it sits in his center compartment. They said that is has been a problem with that model year and that was the end. A $80,000 car and that’s their answer? Would never ever buy a car through this group or take in for service here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The apathy they exhibit is at a new low.

Very disappointed. It was a 430 pm appt on a Thursday; Stood there for 15 min. Before the girl even spoke to me while the boy was on an imaginary phone call the entire time. They did nothing to my car and charged me 167 bucks. Said I needed a strut in the back for the tail gate to work properly was going to cost a grand. It hesitated on the way up often took two clicks on my carkey rather than one! A friend fixed it for me the following with a little lubricant. Said I needed a new steering wheel for $1500 as my heating element was shot, but then why does it work some days and not others if its really shot. It got super warm just yesterday!!! Did you even look at my car? I shouldn’t have gone to Kohl’s I should have waited there.but she told me it would 60-90 min b4 they even got to it. Said he checked the battery and other things but I got nothing on my “complimentary” report about their condition! What a joke. I think they just plugged their diagnostic tool in wrote what it said and gave me a bill. They are like the dishwasher repair man that comes to your house 155 plus tax is the minimum charge regardless. Ps- this was my first time going there and I didn’t buy the car from them so maybe if u buy there u get better service 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was disappointed with the service department. We needed to have tires put on, an inspection and safety recall. They indicated they couldn’t give us a loaner car if it were just one day need and so we dropped it off on a Wednesday evening for Thursday work. That evening we were told it wouldn’t be ready until the next day which is completely understandable because I understand things happen. However on Friday afternoon they noted they could not finish the safety recall (And thus inspection) and would not have a part in until Tuesday. They also insisted they did not have a loaner available. So they left us with an unsafe car for our family for the weekend on a Friday night when we have family visiting.I’m disappointed this the only Range Rover service and have considered purchasing a Volvo but fear the service will be similar. I would expect more from a luxury dealer/service but more importantly was surprised they would send an unsafe car out to a family. I did explain my safety concerns to the department but they were unable to find a loaner or safe solution. Adding finding a rental car to a Friday night was a huge inconvenience, particularly as it was unexpected and the service didn’t follow through with their initial agreement.Reading other reviews, I wonder if they should review their loaner availability.

Not born yesterday. Late 2018 had a left front wheel bearing replaced for a little over $400 at this same place. Great price and excellent customer service. Mid 2019 need the front right bearing replaced. Quote $1077. A good bearing (Moog) is $116 on rock auto. These guys probably pay less wholesale. Was told part was over $600. I get they need to turn a profit, but a 400% markup is a bit extreme. Will look elsewhere for service.

This was the worse experience I ever had! I had an appointment with a Rich. I got there and ask to see the car that we spoke about .... he said refresh my memory! I drove over 2 hours .... I showed him the picture of the car on the website. He went and got the car, but don’t you think if you had an appointment why would the car not be there when I got there. Then when he brought the car up from wherever it was, it was the wrong car and it was all mud!!! Then he checked the computer and brought up another one and it was still the wrong car. Then he said I don’t think we have that car but would give me one of the cars he brought up for the same price. Really ..... I made an apt and I guess then do plan for appointments!!! I told him to email me the quote and before I left he gave me a paper that he said was the quote and the numbers were nothing that was what we talked about. I called Andy the general manager this morning and explain all the above .... all he said was I am sorry... let me know if can do anything for you..... obviously he did not care cuz if he did he would said I can do whatever to make it right and all he said was I am sorry!!! Would never recommend this place to anyone!!! I hope whoever owns this place they read these terrible reviews

Place is a joke! Literally one of the oddest and most unusual car buying experience I ever went through. Have owned a range rover sport that I purchased from this dealership about 9 years ago(different loaction). I had stopped in to this dealership previously to check out the new defender that is being rolled out in 2020 and decided that becuase of demand I should return and put an order in for a brand new $65,000 vehicle. Before placing the order I asked the salesman if I could test drive the car to make sure that I infact was buying a car that I would enjoy as much as I did my range rover the past 9 years. I was then told by the surly salesman and I quote no I cant let you test drive this vehicle, its reserved for customers interested in this specific model, the model that you are purchasing is the smaller engine and i dont want added miles on it becuase future customers wont want to buy it!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! So your telling me your priority is to a future, potenitial customer instead of the LOYAL, returning customer that is placing an order through you that day!!! Ohh but he did offer to pull the car down so I can sit in it. Thanks!! I deal with other car dealerships for work and have never been treated with such disdain. Mind you the car that I was purchasing is only a 6k difference!! Now I can see why this dealership has gardnerd such a bad rap over the years.. I will probably be heading down state going forward. Complete joke!

If possible I would rate this dealerships service less than 1 Star. I Purchased a new Velar. At time of purchase sales staff claimed they would come and get the car when it needed service. I live 3 hrs away. That sold me. The wheel bearings are going and I was told by 2 mechanics that when they they do seize it would be extremely dangerous. They will Not retrieve the car or have an appointment for several weeks. Never again will I purchase a car from them.

Chris in service was awesome from start to finish! I had a warranty repair and I live far from a dealer. Roadside came picked up my car and dropped it off. Chris let me called when it got there, after it was looked at, and an estimated repair time. I felt very connected and informed throughout the whole process. On top of that he was able to fix the car 2 days earlier than scheduled and has arranged for roadside to bring it home to me. Excellent from start to finish.

I dont know if they just have so much business b/c they are the only LR dealer w/in a few hundred miles that they dont need to provide quality customer service, or if they just dont care. The worst service I have ever had. My SUV went in for repairs they advised they have no loaners and told me there was nothing they can do. Its an 80,000 SUV and you cant give a loaner. I will never go to this dealership nor will I buy a Range Rover again. Service is a deal breaker for me and this dealership fell very short. The service manger in Albany is so rude.

I implore anyone to not give these people your money. Think buying a Range Rover will be great? Its not. They are the only dealer around so you are stuck with their horrible service department and staff. After buying my Evoque the next day the hood sensor broke so i couldnt lock the car. got that fixed. Next the turbo blew...2 weeks in the shop, only got a loaner for the last week. I live an hour away. Such a pain. Then the radiator went. Another week in the shop. This time i didnt even get a loaner. Then it was fine for a few months. Then what do you know its burning coolant. I had to have it towed down there because they didnt have a loaner available for 3 weeks!! After the first week of it not being fixed they told me it was a cracked manifold. Only to find out it was the water pump like I suggested. 2 weeks in the shop for a water pump. I finally had enough and went to trade it in for something else. Come to find out they lied to me about the history of the Evoque, it had been in an accident even though they told me it had a clean history. My fault for not specifically requesting the carfax, how dare i trust the dealer. These people are so shady from the sales to the service. I will not let anyone i know buy anything from them. To be fair I dont know about the Volvo side as I think they are separate. Such a shame that RRs are such junk it was a sweet car.

Hello, I just wanted to share my nightmare of an experience here at the Land Rover of Albany dealership.This past week I had an awful experience from the whole staff but now I truly believe it all trickled down from a terrible, useless, incapable, arrogant GM (Jeff Madden).When I showed up the first time last week, I met a really nice sales rep (Natasha) who I still really like, who treated me very nicely. I can honestly say from there on out it all went down hill from there. After I mentioned some cars I was interested in, I started to be treated very differently by the staff. Once I test drove the cars and came back in the dealership and shared the good news of what cars I liked to Natasha, I was soon being met my a GM (Jeff) who stared interrogating me.He was asking me what do I drive now - I told him what I drove. He obviously didnt believe me when I told him because he said quote “Really?, Well let me see your license and registration then? - quote. What does that even matter what I drive? I probably drive a nicer car then him, he must be a jealous, insecure man who sizes other men up because of his insecurities and lack of confidence.So after waiting a while at the desk with Natasha, Jeff the insecure GM was just looking at my car and my license and registration for a good couple minutes. After a while I couldnt take it so I told them I had to go attend my business and that i would be thinking about buying this car and I would let them know in a couple days what my final decision would be.So now I call later in the week to let them know that I will be moving forward with my own financing with SEFCU and for some reason they started giving me some issues on that - I assume it was coming from Jeff. Anyways I went back in to pick up a Purchase Agreement to get lending from my bank and for some reason they didnt want to give it to me, but would rather have it faxed over to the bank.I told them I am a busy guy who owns a well known hair salon in the Capital Region and that I would just bring it to my loan officer that day or the next. Jeff would not give it to me but everyone else in the dealership wanted to. At this point, I was thinking Jeff just didnt like me. I can understand if you dont like me Jeff, but do not let it effect business, you are ruining the owners business of Land Rover in Albany. You are polluting their business with your terrible customer service skills and arrogant attitude.So anyways after agreeing to them that I would get them the fax number and giving it to my sales rep and Jeff, days passed and my loan officer at Sefcu never received anything. At this point i told them, I had enough and will be coming in to pick up the Purchase Agreement. To make a long story short, I finally got the purchase agreement, finally got approved with my local bank and was planning on picking up the car tomorrow. Everything seems good now - right? Well no - Jeff insecurities got in the way again . Just got a call from the fiancee manager (Chris) - not Jeff and was told by Chris that Jeff wants me to relay a message to you and says “He will not be selling you the car and to get lost”. He wants me to fiancee through them.Have more to say - read my other one coming....

3 + half starsI really like my Land Rover Evoque but I wish I could have more options regarding service. I live 50 miles away from Albany, one reason I was hesitate to lease a LR. First service was for a recall just few months later and at that point our salesman was gone. Since then, every time I went there for service appointments (means previous arrangement) something went wrong. Last time, I said to myself before arriving: OK, be very patient, this time would be easy, I will have a loaner so they have more than 24 hours to work on my car... first thing they told was: Oh no, we dont have any loaner car for you. I didnt even reply to that comment instead I played the message recorded in my cellphone so the manager could listen their confirmation saying date, time and arrangement for a loaner. I know they struggle badly. Read some reviews. I feel bad for the people who works there. I imagine it is not easy deal with customers. I am a latin/italian/american mix so I showed them my disappointment every time, reason they didnt charged me the last 2 or 3 services (but that it is not the point, right?). Last time they also brought my car to my address. They have room for improvement, no doubt. Hopefully they make some changes soon or this business will lose more customers.

5 months from first visit to actual purchase...unnecessarily painful overall. Management and staff was verbally sympathetic. Staff is knowledgable of the vehicles. The rest is......inshallah.Many issues throughout, ending up with issues like....deposit not being on final bill to not having liciense plate holes pre-drilled (which they did pay me to have them drilled locally (as i am not close to the dealer).Range Rover Sport itself is awesome. Maybe i am a unique case (i hope that i am), but when paying $75,000 for a vehicle one expects less headaches for a 5-Star rating.
