My landscaping company Hutcheson Horticultural has been using Town Lake Outdoor Power for many years now and weve always been pleased. As a company that has 7 maintenance crews, having good equipment and fast access to the right parts makes all the difference. Downtime is a killer in this industry and TLOP understands that. They are by far the best Exmark and SCAG dealer around as well as STIHL. The shop is always clean and the service is top notch.

They are very eager in sales but extremely poor in service. When I purchased a chain saw and a blower from them, the salesperson was very helpful in explaining the products and making recommendations about upgrading my purchase. When I returned in 2 months for warrantee service, the same person acted like he never met me, (perhaps he did forgot), and he was rude and acting like I am just there to border him. When I finally return to pick up my chainsaw, even it shall have been well within the warrantee period, they insisted that I have to pay because I must have misused the equipment. They refuse to hear me out and never did try to check with the manufacture about the warrantee. I need my chainsaw back, so I ended up pay for the service. I still regard Stihl as a good brand with quality product, but the particular chainsaw I bought from this store was not a good one to begin with. However, the salespersons in this store are not much into helping they customers. They do not like to listen to the customers, they are very judgmental, subjective, and argumentized.

Made me wonder when I asked for a chainsaw blade. I couldnt just say what I needed he wanted to take my phone to find it on the shelf. I watched him and nothing weird happened to my phone but I didnt care for that kind of service. You can get stihl parts at Morgans hardware in Woodstock.

This place is God awful. Slow as can be, unhelpful and seriously lazy. I will not be coming back. I just waited 30 mins to buy a battery (only one customer). Ended up not buying it due to rudeness once it was finally my turn in line.

Imagine having a $10,000 machine go up inflames immediately following a full service and quality check by your certified dealer. Worse yet, imagine having a family member on that machine when it burst into flames.This happened to us. Our Tiger Cat was just serviced at Towne Lake Outdoor Power by Allen S. The fire department ruled the fire a mechanical malfunction. Neither Allen nor Scag will take any responsibility for this failure. We are all very fortunate that my wife was not injured or killed.Neither Allen nor Scag will stand by their equipment and service.Shameful and dishonest. Save yourself and perhaps a family member and avoid Towne Lake Outdoor and Scag. It’s not worth losing your life or that of a loved one.Cliff Shuart

Awesome sale and service after! Jim and the rest of the folks there did a great job when I bought a new mower from them in 2017. I also had to have some warranty work done later, and they went out of their way to get it done and back to me without complaint. Its really refreshing to have this type of experience nowadays, and they have my repeat business because of it.

Knowledgeable staff and large parts inventory. They’ve had every Stihl part Ive ever asked for right there on the shelf. My 2012 Fc90 is a one pull start again thanks to a new carb (they even made sure I had adjusted my valves before selling it to me) . Good selection of Scag and Exmark mowers on sale as well. Skip Ace and check this place out if you need anything Stihl!

For a landscaping company these guys are awesome. They do not handle homeowners mowers so you can get your mowers in and out fast when they need repairs. We bought our first mower there and will continue to use these guys.

Ed quoted me a price to fix the hydro system of my hustler mower. Said the pumps needed rebuilt and that would correct my issues. So I go to pick it up after they say its done and right away I noticed it wasnt right. So I went back to them and said it still feels weak they told me to take it out and try it out on a yard which I did and of course it made no difference. Called them back and they told me it needed new absorbers and that would tighten it up. So a month or so later I call and no absorbers are in so I say I dont think that is the problem so they say bring it back in and we will look at it. I do just that and what do you know now the wheel motor needs to be replaced, another $900. I told Ed that was his problem, and he told me that is not how it works it was my problem. So it looks like we are off to court to let a judge decide. If you go there deal with Ed at your own risk you have been warned.

I stopped by to see if the store had a replacement belt for my lawn mower. An older man asked if he could help us. We told him we needed a replacement belt for our Craftsman lawn mower. He refused to look and see if he had the part in stock. We had a part number and knew the size of the belt. We left, went down the street to OReillys where the young girl behind the computer was able to find the belt for us there. I would never even think of setting foot in this store again.

Purchased a new Husqvarna weed eater a little over 2 years ago and it started leaking oil last week. Since it is 4 months out of warranty, it seems there is nothing they can do for me other than charge me the standard servicing, inspection, ect... to fix it. I completely understand they are running a business, but when I just brought in my lawnmower for servicing and the weed eater I bought from them is barely out of warranty, at least offer to take a look at it and work with me if something needs to be fixed. This is not the way to keep repeat customers, and I am extremely disappointed as the store seemed to be the kind of place I like to take my business.

Little to no parking. And out of most Stihl parts you need. How can you be out of Stihl 600 air filters? Its just a part you should always have in stock. And only work on certain equipment. Not impressed. Maybe you should go back to selling Husqvarna.

Owner of Legion Landscaping here.....When choosing between Exmark, Toro, or Scag there is really not too much of a difference when it comes to the machine. They are all going to cut about the same and all have their problems. That being said...the biggest factor you should look at is dealer support. Morgans in Woodstock sells Toro....they are great but going to be about 2 weeks on repairs. D&k and Bells Ferry Ace sell Exmark and expect to wait 2 weeks plus on any repairs. These three service commercial and residential mowers and causes them to get back logged....ridiculously backlogged. When a mower goes down I can not afford to have it down that long. With Scag and this dealer...mower goes down...something minor... same day to 2 days. If it something major...have had it back running 3-4 days. They dont bother with residential and keep their clients up and running.
