Im happy I got the inside scoop - I ended up getting a different model than I had originally had in mind when I learned more about each machine in the store. The salesperson was very friendly and knowledgeable. They had the Miele vacuum I wanted in stock (surprisingly, as it was sold out online), and the price was better than I’d have paid through Amazon. Plus I know I can stop in whenever I need for bags, filters, and maintenance.

I bought a new Sebo vacuum cleaner for my store and Ray made sure I picked the right one. He helped me assemble and explained everything in detail. I have never had a person be as aggressively rude and condescending to me in my entire life as the owner was when I went into the store today. I brought in the tube of the vacuum I had bought at the store for a simple jam fix. The man refused to believe that I had bought the vacuum there because he could not find my phone number in the system. Although he did fix the jam, he threw the tube down on the table at me and said “I fixed it for you, but you did not buy it here honey.” Returning home, I confirmed my phone number is on the receipt. Very disappointed by the experience.

Very friendly and knowledgeable service. Taking COVID precautions very seriously. Over all it was easy to shop here and the owner helped me choose the right vacuum. Prices were the same as online and they have many floor models to try, which you wont get shopping online or at a big box store. Support a small local business, and get great service!

We were having new, New Zealand wool carpet installed and I wanted the best vacuum for the carpet. I could have bought online but decided to ask locally and am so glad I did. The Miele package that I purchased was not available online, had extra tools, and I would not have purchased the power head I did without the owners expert advice. After a couple of months it was time to clean the head but I reassembled it incorrectly. The belt had slipped from a gear that was hidden inside the device, not readily available to the untrained eye. I brought the head in, the owner recognized the problem immediately, showed me how to fix it, and at no charge. Buy locally and get the benefit of expertise you would never have access to if you bought online.

We just had Ray come to our house and replace all (and there were a lot!) of central vacuum outlets in addition to providing two completely new hoses and accessories. The installation turned out not to be so simple, requiring customization of many of the outlets and custom painting/color matching of several of them. They came out fantastically! Thank you Ray!!

I am a new customer and am really pleased both with my purchase and also the service. Ray was very helpful on the phone, answered my questions, and guided me in my purchase... and my vacuum cleaner is amazing. It was a better price than I could have gotten on line and I appreciated being able to do a curbside pickup in these crazy pandemic days (he even offered to deliver it to my house, but I declined). Kudos!!

I first brought a Dyson Vacuum for repair. I was given exact information about what repair was possible. I ended up buying a Miele vacuum. I have always experienced clear, helpful information and my now 5 year old vacuum is going strong.

I have gotten my very old sewing machine serviced here several times and they did an excellent job. This last time I went to get my machine repaired during the covid pandemic and they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and adjust store hours for all the sewers whose machines needed repairs due to making so many masks. Unfortunately my machine could not be repaired as the parts were no longer made and I bought a new machine from Ray. He was really helpful and knowledgeable giving me a good price. As I drove away he even ran after me in the parking lot as I had left a small item behind. I would highly recommend the store. Great service

I am so thrilled to have discovered Acton Vacuum and Appliance.I have not been happy with my last five vacuums and really needed some direction.It was so nice to have a Friendly and helpful local specialist like Ray to guide me to the best one for my house. I was even able to try out the vacuum right in the store.The store itself is also very clean, organized and has lots of parking at a convenient location.I love my new vacuum and will definitely recommend others to this location.

Ray repaired my Miele vacuum and gave me a loaner vacuum. This was very helpful.He corrected my misimpression that buying inexpensive off-brand filters and dust bags was an acceptable practice. Ive changed my ways and will now buy Miele vacuums only.I plan to return to buy a vacuum as a gift for one of our sons, and to treat myself to a new iron.Terrific to have such a reliable and knowledgeable supplier nearby.

This one is a bit complicated.I brought our vacuum in to be fixed. Turned out that it was going to cost about $200 to do the repairs, and right around then vacuums went on sale, so we wound up buying a new one. I had intended to go in and get our broken vacuum back and just keep it as a spare that we might eventually fix, but had forgotten for a few weeks due to the various holiday craziness.During this time I got a call from someone other than the owner who worked at the store. He wanted to share with me his advice on whether or not to fix the vacuum. He did. I told him I would think about it and call him back (as I was considering having them fix it anyway so we would have a spare).I then got a call a couple weeks later from the owner saying that the vacuum was fixed. I explained I did not authorize the repair and he said that I had. He told me that the other person had spoken to me and I said to fix it. I told him this was clearly complicated and I was with a friend so I would call him back.I called a couple days later and he again insisted that I had authorized the repair. I said I had not, but he persisted in this. I said I was not looking to spend $200 on repairing the vacuum but I understood that he had fixed it and so I wanted to come up with something that was fair. There was a lot of back and forth but he was essentially unwilling to yield in any way. He also continued to insist I authorized the repair. My wife, btw, was sitting next to me during the conversation with the other guy, and she confirmed I never said anything even like that.I told him, fine... remove the parts and Ill come pickup the vacuum. He refused. I told him he would have to buy the vacuum from me then. He refused. Basically anything I came up with, he refused. Upon finally threatening to call the better business bureau, he opted to give me the vacuum for the cost of the parts and write off the labor.When I arrived at the store he continued to be pretty obstinate. I dont know why youre not happy... you got the labor for free, etc. I told him that I worked retail for some 15 years and never once have I called one of my customers a liar.The whole experience was wildly unprofessional and unfair, and ridiculous since it was their error and they were essentially totally unwilling to be accountable for it on any level until I finally threatened to bring in another party. In this day and age, where service is king, I find this pretty baffling. I wont ever EVER shop or look for service there again.[UPDATE] So I see Acton Vacuum has responded to my review to ONCE AGAIN state that we authorized the repair. And has asserted that my wife called, which tips me off that something seriously went wrong because my wife makes me call ALL vendors and stores. Anything like this. She just doesnt like interacting with folks over the phone.Were I in this situation on the other end, I can think of a variety of ways I would have approached this... including, most likely, Wow, were so sorry. Well pull the parts out and give you back your vacuum. I mean, yes, sure, you lose a bit of labor, and that is a real cost, but it seems way less of a cost than the impact of upsetting a customer supporting (or trying to support) a local business. I dont know. When I worked retail it was always the customer is always right... to a degree, anyway. Always have them leave with a smile, certainly... work something out. Didnt happen in this case. This was literally one of the worst customer service experiences Ive had in my life.It is what it is. Clearly something wrong happened. I wound up paying for a repair I had not planned for, which is very frustrating. This response by them to my review is not what Id call a great example of customer service either, but I understand the situation they are in.

My wife and I got our first vacuum from Acton Vacuum over 10 years ago and it is still working like it is brand new. We chose the Miele upright and it works on both carpet, tile and hardwood floors. We first lived in a house with most carpet floors then moved to a new house with carpet and tile so i purchased a new MIELE canister really is wonderful. I would highly recommend buying your vacuum from Acton Vacuum over a warehouse type store because they are a locally owned business and service is the most important element of having a vacuum, they helped me many times .they been here in Acton for over 27 years and they give outstanding customer service! They also do repairs on your old vacuums as well. Acton vacuum is a 5 star company!

They have a good stock but the employee/owner I saw was rude. I walked in hoping to get a demo of a product before I bought it, potentially online, and he refused to demo the product in fear I would buy it elsewhere. Id expect that as an authorized dealer of Miele products theyd be more happy to demo a product regardless of whether I purchase it or not. Not great salesmen. He also became very short with me, not caring to answer any of my questions.
