This is my go to Home Depot. I operate a handyman service (Lucrative Entities LLC) and whenever I go to this location and Walter sees me he is always approaching me to ask if I need assistance, he is very informative and eager to help. During my visits I observed him interacting with other customers and he is just amazing. His knowledge, conversation and willingness to go the extra mile is why I choose to return to this location. He will go out his way to help customers and I just want to make sure his excellent customers service is not gone unnoticed. I normally see him in the hardware/plumbing area.

Ive never written a Google review before, but I decided to now. Always go this Home Depot, never really need to ask for help, can usually figure this stuff out on my own. But last time I went I need some advice and I ran into Walter. He was patient, took the time to explain my options to me. Saved me from making a big mistake. Made me regret not asking for help sooner. Great customer service goes a long way with me. If all the staff is as great as he is, youre in good hands coming here.

This store has the absolute worst customer service!! Started a kitchen remodel in Jan of this yr. I am still without counter tops or a kitchen sink. Cabinets were installed two months ago. I have been given little to no information on how the process works or what to expect next. The customer service representatives, one in particular, by the name of Whitney, really needs a lesson in customer service. Not once did she apologize for the situation, she only had excuses. I will admit that my voice was stern but I said nothing off color, and definitely nothing deserving of being hung up on. When I started this process I informed Home Depot that I was planning a graduation party for my only child on July 24. I have paid a caterer and rental fees and still have no countertops or sink. Not so much as a phone call or email which is why I phoned the store today and endured Whitney’s horrific customer service.

I had an interview there, it was very unfair. They interviewed me with a position I didn’t apply for or knew anything about. When I told one of the store managers that interviewed me by the name of “Q” that its not the correct position, he told me to do the best I can answering the questions that are based off the wrong position. The other guy who was interviewing me was the department manager for that wrong position they insisted on interviewing me for.He asked Q if he wanted him to get the right department manager for the position I applied for & got set up with via email, but Q told him no and that he should just stay & learn because he never gave an interview before.I felt very uncomfortable & was very annoyed in the whole process, I felt as if I was just an “learning experience” for that department manager since he’s never conducted an interview before. The interview was horrible and I regret wasting my time and energy going there. The manager Q even tried to turn the interview into a therapy session because it was going so bad, & he was giving somewhat of many “polite insults” to me.I wanted to get up & just walk out of the interview. Once it was finally over the manger “Q” didn’t even walk me out.I even tried to get in touch with the store manager to tell him about the horrible experience but I have yet to get in touch with him! Very disappointing & unprofessional on Home Depot!

They don’t properly inspect returns, will give you defective machines (I got three - ! - defective orbital floor sanders in a row), and will charge you for 100% of the time you had them. Went in to get a chip paint-matched for a nail-hole touch up job and when asked about the details of the paint that I wasn’t familiar with, I tried to show the attendant a picture of the paint I was trying to match (a pretty efficient way to communicate what I was trying to do, or so I thought). The attendant proceeds to turn around to another employee and throw his hands up in disgust.Ok, I thought, it’s early and he’s having a bad morning. He then asks what type of paint I want; good, better or best. I’m not sure what the terms mean and say I don’t need much paint so if the dollar amount isn’t very different why not go with the most expensive? He then gets extremely frustrated again and raises his voice: DO YOU WANT GOOD BETTER OR BESTLike wow, that escalated quickly. How about explain the difference of the terms instead of raising your voice and repeating terms I was obviously not familiar with.I’ll be going to another store next time. Giving it two stars because at least the rage-filled employee left after his second tantrum and another person took over who was helpful.

Update 4/7/21 from 5 stars to 1: They do not enforce their mask policy. Two special snowflakes in 20 minutes and my call to customer service when I got home was a mealy-mouthed explanation about signage, audio notifications, and how only managers can check people out without masks.Ive spent a lot of money at this store but were done. All the construction were doing this summer will fatten some other companys wallet. This pandemic wont be over until stores direct the maskless to mask up or order curbside service. Given how many people mask as compared to unmask, you have your risk assessment backwards. #boycotthomedepot

This store does not commit to Covid safety procedures. Several customers walking around with masks off or not worn properly. When approached, team members said it wasn’t their job to enforce the rule, the one they have clearly posted at the entrance of the store. Almost every time I go here there are employees standing around talking while customers are looking for someone to help them. Giving two stars because they are usually well stocked, but so are other places. As a retail worker myself it’s not hard putting things on a shelf, but good customer service and keeping your guests safe is...i guess.

Recently our dishwasher broke and we set out to find a new one. We went to a couple stores to shop around for what we wanted. We landed at this Home Depot and the salesperson was very nice. He help us determine what was in stock and see how fast he could get it out to us. It wasn’t his fault, but it would be close to a month before we received the new dishwasher and got it installed. After the sale, he sent me home with paperwork and a checklist to make sure things will be ready to go.The big day arrived and we were all set. The delivery guy showed up, walked straight to my sink, opened my cupboard and declared that there was a problem. He told me that he couldn’t touch plastic and therefore could not install my dishwasher because there was PVC pipe. I reviewed the paperwork that I had from Home Depot and this wasn’t mentioned anywhere.I asked for a minute to contact Home Depot since he was a 3rd party contracted for delivery. He became quite rude and refused to give me even 5 minutes for a call. He interrupted my attempt at calling the store several times, and then had me speak to his dispatch because he couldn’t “just wait.” After explaining, they agreed to wait 15 minutes while I tried to find a resolution. The resolution did not come and he again, rudely interrupted me while I was on the phone to tell me he was leaving, and that he didn’t “have” to tell me he was leaving… he was just being polite. At that point I refused the delivery because I didn’t know what else to do and had no time to think of a solution or anything. After the incident, I did a little research and discovered that the “plastic issue” isn’t really an issue and several plumbers indicated that this is standard practice. The company I went with (after this issue) also said it was one of the “weirder things I’ve heard.”I should also point out that this gentleman walked in with a face mask properly on his face, but when he became annoyed with me… he stopped wearing it properly and had it down under his chin. It definitely reflects poorly on both Home Depot and GE (which I came to understand is involved in finding 3rd party delivery companies for bigger stores like Home Depot. I will not be shopping at Home Depot any longer. This is a lot more detail to the story, but these are the highlights and enough to indicate the major issue.

Called the store multiple times over the previous 2 days and because no one would answer the phone I went there to purchase a snow blower. The item was on a top shelf and the sales rep was unable to answer questions about the item. I asked her to please get it down so that pulling the item down was not necessary because I could read about it on her cell phone. She then, with her dutifully masked face, held the phone about 3 feet away from me. I told her that I cannot read small print from that distance and asked if she could bring it closer. She refused to do so and refused to allow me to touch her phone to bring it to a normal reading distance. She then called for someone to get the item down from the shelf. That individual was quite polite and eagerly willing to answer questions. He did not appear to be terrorized by me and the fact that I was breathing in his presence without a worthless face mask. With respect to the first sales rep, if she is so fearful of getting some respiratory disease from me (a healthy person with no cough or contagious skin diseases) which she as a young apparently healthy woman who I presume does not live in a nursing home, then maybe it would be best if she simply did not come to work at all.Why is she working there if she is so fearful of interacting with customers? If the employees cannot treat people in a normal respectful fashion then they should stay home. Anyone will enough and capable of working is not at risk for a bad outcome and neither is someone well enough to drive there and shop.

I am trustee for my nephew who is on social security disability. The trust provides a house for him and pays for associated costs. The hot water heater needed replacement. It had been out for days, and my nephew had a place to shower, so this was inconvenient but no emergency. We ordered a 12 year hot water heater and its installation through Home Depot#2721, which subcontracts installation to Crew 2.. The Crew 2 installers substituted a 6 year hot water heater without lowering the price and verbally claimed to my nephew (and me over the phone since I live a day’s travel away) that it was the right one, a 12 year model. Note that the 12 year model costs much more and that the 6 year model will likely last half as long so they are not equivalent. I paid by credit card over the phone. I asked my nephew to print out the receipt and put it with the other hot water heater papers. He noticed then that the paperwork said a 6 year model, although the price listed and paid was for the 12 year model. I verified with a photo of the hot water heater that it was a 6 year model. I brought this to the attention of Home Depot #2721 Ann Arbor. The manager agreed that I ordered the 12 year model, and he had it in writing. He verified that the installers must have known they were installing a 6 year model because that is on the box etc. I asked to have the 12 year model instead of the 6 year model or the price paid reduced by half since the 6 year model is likely to last only half as long before replacement is needed. The installers refused to replace the hot water heater and offered about 25% off and a warranty extension of 5 not 6 years, and refused to do more. No credible explanation was offered. No apology was offered.Crew 2 installed the hot water heater on 2/22/21. Nine days after installation the hot water heater stopped heating water.I do not know whether Crew 2 tried a “bait and switch,” where a more expensive product is ordered and paid for but a less expensive product is delivered, leaving the business with more profit. Possibly the installers were just trying to save time and get on to the next job, since this was taking longer than planned, instead of finding the correct model. (The installers woke my nephew up the morning of installation to take photos of the existing hot water heater and answer questions about it. However, when they arrived, they realized they had to use a shorter hot water heater than the one they brought. As a result of this mixup by the installers I was worried they would have another mixup and not bring a 12 year model so I verified this repeatedly.) What I know to be a fact because of my direct involvement through texts and phone calls throughout the day of the installation, is that the Crew 2 installers verified orally to my nephew when they brought the second water heater, the one which was actually installed, that it was the right one, the 12 year one. Again, after installation and before payment, my nephew had me and the installers on speakerphone when asking and verifying with the installer that this was a 12 year model. Clearly, the installers verbally misinformed me and my nephew. They may also have misinformed their Crew 2 manager about the substitution, but that does not make Crew 2 less culpible. As a retired social worker, not just a trustee for a vulnerable adult, I am concerned that Crew 2 (through Home Depot) may be taking advantage of people.
