Always delivered in a timely manner and never had any issues with ordering, but they mix such a large amount of bio-fuel into the oil that we have had nothing but issues keeping our furnace on this winter. Its recommended no higher than 20% biofuel to be mixed in to keep your furnace running smoothly, then on your receipt you will notice they mix in anywhere between 45% to 85%.

Torre thanks for bringing this to light again, I left them over a year ago and haven’t had one issue since after having multiple breakdowns each year, most of which required waits of 10+ hours for service. Anyone considering this company should watch the I Team story on WBZ website, they have been following this company for years and the owner will no longer speak to them to address the complaints. The Better Business Bureau has dropped their accreditation for this company. Buyer beware, caveat emptor.

Big mistake.. We asked Peterson oil to check our oil furnace as a preventive maintenance for the winter in October. The furnace was running but the guy who came out played with the thermostat cables then left.. then The heat was just on continuously...They had 3 different people come out to look and started to charge us weekend hours etc... We ended up paying $1000. Then 2 moths later the boiler failed. They charged us $140 to go out and say.. The boiler in rough shape and needs to be replaced.Why they did not say that when they asked us to pay for the maintenance few months ago???Since it was middle Feb with freezing temperatures.. I kept calling them to send me quotes to replace or repair.. they kept promising me but nothing was sent I had to hire another HVAC company. I will never use Peterson oil for oil nor repairs..

Here is Biodiesel “oil” they put in my tank. This caused my boiler to stop working. 18 hours with no heat and hot water is not anything I wish anyone to ever endure in the winter. When they pumped my tank out they tried to say the oil looked thick because of it being cold out. I showed two boiler techs outside of Peterson the pictures and they said there is no way oil should ever look that way even in freezing temperatures. I’m still waiting on my refund for the bad oil. Instead of rectifying the situation right away they send me a bill instead for the service call. If I could give them zero stars I would.

The oil service very bad. I can’t sleep when I think about it although it happens a few weeks ago. I pay 129$ to fix the problem and it still happens exactly again. Unfortunately it happens on Sunday I call them and the man said it was normal but it not. My husband feel angry because he’s afraid the oil will be broken if he do nothing. Finally he use the tool to try to fix . The reason is find out very easy. But I still hate the way the service the did to me. The way the make money easy but they refuse to fix it. They will lost 1 customers. it is nothing for them but for me I think I learned a lot from it. That why I have to write mine review to all customers will be with them. It is 11:35 time for my son sleep but I have to write it before I put him to sleep. If I don’t write it down I will not have a good sleep tonight. Hope my broken English you can understand

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Their “biofuel” WILL RUIN your system. On top of that their employees are liars! I was promised a delivery on a specific date only to be told “they shouldn’t be promising a date” second time I ordered fuel online, as I was told it would be easier, per the online message AND the employees deliveries are between 2-3 business days, I will be on the 5TH day and still no delivery!

My boiler needs to be tuned to an -exact- mixture of fuel (#2 now), it will NOT work correctly with wildly different mixtures. The people running Peterson Oil refuses to acknowledge this! They mix their new batches of fuel however they want! NO standard.They even filled my tank, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, with fuel that would not even start in my boiler!I get different and even contradictory information from everyone I talk to there, technicians, office, delivery....everyone.Over 68yrs with Peterson, and I have never had these problems before.

Recently my hot water was too hot. I called and a repair man arrived that day. He was logical and knowledgeable and found the cause. He explained the problem so that I could understand and replaced the faulty part.

We tried to schedule our ANNUAL service and inspection, but was told that we would have to wait about NINE months. that will be AFTER the crucial winter cold months.We believe that we are not important enough. when we get service, it will probably be great, but the time line is very poor!

Called at 9 am today due to no heat the previous night. Was told that they would be at our house between 9:30am and 11:30am. By 11:45 pm no one had showed up. Called again and was told we were next in line. It is now 2 pm and the office is closed and had to talk to someone for emergency services because no one showed up and now we are waiting to see if anyone can come in. I canceled all my plans for the day so that I could wait for someone to come in. Terrible service!Update!Someone finally was able to come by at around 3:30pm. It is still frustrating that this happened though. So I will be adding another star for the fact that we were at least able to get the service we requested at 9 am. But it wouldve been nice to at least get a heads up that they would not be able to make it in the time they they themselves set. That way I couldve made use of the time I wasted waiting.

Dependable, as always. We found ourselves with no heat upstairs. The technician arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The issue took a while to resolve, but he stuck with it and got us up and running. This type of service makes the service contract well worth it.

I have been using Peterson for two years. A few months back I called to schedule a furnace cleaning and they were booking months out! They gave me a date with a two hour window. The weeks prior to my appointment we had some frigid temperatures. I had to take the day off for my scheduled appointment because it was the only day I could get and I had to work. I Spend the morning at home waiting and the two hours come and go. I call Peterson and the woman Kathy was very helpful and explained how I was actually supposed to receive a call the day before because they had to cancel my appointment due to emergency calls. I was extremely frustrated but figured I liked the company so far so would give them another shot. I booked another appointment for a few days later with the morning window of 8am-10am. I called the day prior to confirm and was assured they would be there. well again that morning two hours comeAnd go with no show! I call and it happens to be the same woman I had spoke to prior. At that time she tried to get in touch with dispatch and “ no one was answering the phone” I was at that point all set and canceled the appointment and my oil account. I am extremely annoyed it’s sad no one is held accountable anymore. In my profession I am held accountable for everything I do!! I am an understanding person if they called and said they would be a little bit late I am fine with that but don’t assume my time isn’t valuable and not give me a heads up. That day I also tried to contact the Vice President Kristen Peterson however..... with leaving two messages I never received a return phone call and still haven’t!!!How pathetic, and rude! People do not care about customer service and its apparent! I have never written a review in my life but this situation infuriated me! I’m sure the man who started this business would be appalled at this situation and even more that a customer can’t even get a return phone call with a simple apology. Oh well I guess it’s how the world works now a days! So now I will be finding another oil company who will hopefully appreciate the customer as we are the ones who keep the business thriving!

Peterson/Cleghorn delivered oil, 2 days later my furnace starting running and cutting out in 5 to 10 second intervals. I called them because I suspected I had gotten some bad fuel. Their technician came out and verified this, cleaned the furnace that had been cleaned 3 weeks before and called his supervisor to tell him we wanted the fuel pumped out. His supervisor told him we are not pumping out any more tanks, just make it work. He cleaned it and told me to have a load of Kerosene dumped in when I was down to a half a tank! Long story short, the furnace got fouled 2 weeks later so I had another company come and clean it again. I was told this was an ongoing issue with them so I contacted Melissa at Peterson for reimbursement, and told her I had oil delivered from another company and the furnace was running fine. She could have cared less and said she wouldnt make it right because I was buying fuel elsewhere. What did she expect? What would she have done? The conversation went down hill from there. $400 later Im back up and running. Never again!

Particular kudos to Kathy in customer Service and Kenny, oil technician specialist.This company cares about their customers and follows through on any problems. I have used Peterson Oil for the past 11 years. They offer the best customer service from the moment they answer the phone until they deliver the service requested. The oil deliveries are delivered as scheduled, the maintenance service staff have always shown up during the timeframe scheduled. I have been a customer for over 12 years. Every time I called with an issue, they responded the same day and fixed the problem. My automatic delivery service is very reliable. We have been customers of Peterson for 14 years. The past 2 have been painful...we have run out of oil 4 times despite their no run out pledge. Last winter our system kept clogging because of their new biofuel which apparently has a lot of bad fuel in it (according to their own repair reps). Today I am finding a new company as we ran out of oil again yesterday...so frustrating. I absolutely would not use them.

I have been a Customer of Peterson Oil for Nearly 20 years. For Home Heating Oil, A new Oil Burner about 10 years ago and Service for all my heating needs. You might say I am a loyal customer and as such I have not shopped around for oil based on price, knowing that they were always going to be 10-30 cents higher than some of their competition.I have never run out of oil ever and that is why I never looked to change.But - in light of the recent revelation that I have been delivered an oil product that I was never properly informed of in the form of Bio Fuel mixture that could contain as little as 15% Oil and 85% bio Fuel with out being told that this had changed from the well advertised 20% BIO fuel that they started to sell years ago. I am upset that I was not directly informed of this change when it happened.as of today I will not be a Customer - Deceit is not an excusable business practice.

Ive been a customer of Peterson Oil for years and have never had any problems. I just had my furnace tuned up and the technician was very friendly, on time and left everything very clean. He even made some suggestions on how I could save money and use less oil! I have always gotten my deliveries on time, never run out, and the prices are great.

I am a prepaid customer for the full year. I paid in full in September. This is the second time this year they have let me run out of oil. I called them last Thursday and they promised I would be filled on Monday, Saturday and Monday. Obviously a lie! It is Monday night, no delivery and I am out of oil! Have been waiting three hours for a technician to call back. Stay away from this company.

Last year my furnace quit and Peterson Oil came to the rescue. It wasnt long before the heat was on and everything was running smoothly. The oil deliveries are timely and the staff is pleasant to talk with. What more can you ask?

When we moved into our new home, we neglected to keep an eye on the level of oil in our tank. Two days before Christmas we realized we were almost on empty! Peterson Oil came to our rescue and the very next morning, on Christmas Eve, they came out to fill us up. Great customer service and it was very much appreciated.

We have been a loyal, longstanding customer of Peterson Oil. In the past year, we have run out of oil. We are on a delivery plan, so that is not supposed to happen once, never mind twice. And were charged for an off-hours service because we didnt realize we had no oil until it was night. Last month, they replaced our failed water heater - half up front, half to be paid in 6 monthly installments. Today we received a call stating they would no longer be delivering us any oil (oh, and we are below empty...AGAIN) because of our outstanding balance. That we have been paying. Apparently THEY did not put in that we were paying in installments. So they will graciously deliver us some oil if we pay $700. Terribly disappointed in Peterson Oil.

I have to say Peterson oil does have a great service department. Their Customer Service on the other hand can be a hit or miss. Twice we’ve scheduled delivery, gone through the motions and found out days later they have no record of it. After calling even if you say you’re at empty now because of the delay it’s just not a priority to them. I get it’s the season of chaos and people make mistakes but it was the same rep both times. Just saying.

Poorly ran company.Was promised a delivery which never happened.Called them on it and still could not give me a delivery date.I explained that I had 1/8 tank left.The answer I got was, Sir dont worry.If you run out we will send someone out with 10 gals and start you up.Laughable.Told her that if I run out after I go to bed which is 8pm all will be frozen by Theenr promise that you wont run out just not good eough.I cancelled their servicen.cannot deal with broken pipes ever again.The

Multiple bad service experiences with this unreliable companyWe put in a service request to fix the boiler. First, the technician lies about the hours on the invoice: putting down start time of 3:49 PM while arriving my house at 5:15 PM. This is almost a $100 overcharged labour fee.Then, the boiler stopped working 30 minutes after he left. Called the company to follow up the next morning, and the company insists on charging us another service request on the thing they failed to fixed last night. Then, the customer service representative lied to me by saying that the tech paused the project last night to get parts that he needs and will return to finish the job. This turns out to be false, as I call the same technician to confirmed that. I still do not know how much I got charge for the follow-up service, and the customer service rep is not helpful nor responsive to my question.They are not a trustworthy company that value customers. Stay away from Peterson oil.
