I went to Doug Russell Marine to purchase a “New” Mercury Remanufactured 383 mag mpi. When I returned to NJ to have to engine installed the installing dealer raised concerns about missing serial numbers and the hours showing on the ECU. I asked for a refund as this was concerning to me and I could not get a clear answer from Mr. Russell on the origins of this engine. I was faced with a lot of push back on this.The General Manager Rob got involved and was able to explain that this remanufactured engine was remanufactured by Doug Russell Marine and not by Mercury as I had thought. He worked with me to exchange the engine for a brand new one that I was more comfortable with, at a fair price. He was also able to locate a brand new transom assembly and riser spacers that they had in stock when every other dealer has them back ordered. I was able to purchase all 3 items and head back to NJ to await installation. Although it was a confusing and frustrating purchase initially, I was very happy with the professional service from Rob and the staff at Doug Russell Marine. In the end I left there happy with my purchases and would definitely do business there again. If not for Doug Russell Marine and their large inventory of in stock items, I would be waiting months for the parts to get back in the water.
I have been looking high and low for an outdrive for my power boat and Doug Russell seems to be the only one in the entire US that was willing to take the extra step to help me. I talked to marinas in Florida, Seattle, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia and Missouri until I finally found Doug Russell at Doug Russell Marine and Worcester, MA. He took the time to find out exactly what I needed, talked about other items that I might want to consider and then even gave me a maintenance schedule that should be followed over the next several years to help keep my boat running well.
Had to buy a new engine for our boat every member of the staff was very friendly and helpful especially doug himself. I would definitely recommend buying from him, he made this whole stressful experience a lot easier.
I love to give small business my money. I purchased my seadoo brand new in 2016. Brought it back to this dealer every year to be winterized and when it broke we called this marina. They took 6 months to get the machine in and then charged $600 to not fix it. They actually said they could find anything wrong. Do not use these people they are not trustworthy

I read some reviews and a couple were very negative as I was looking to purchase a boat. I learned quickly that some people have nothing better to do then complain . I called Doug Russell Marine After all the reviews and spoke with a salesman Bob C. I can say he worked really hard with me on the trade of the jet skis and the purchase of the new boat. This was all taking place at the same time as the Virus so it was tough !!!! You know you have a great salesman if he is texting you at 9 sometimes 9:30 pm and giving you updates and arrival times and also helping match colors from the canvas to the seats he was going over things I had no idea about because this was myfirst boat purchase ever !.. this guy was actually letting me listen on phone conversations with the Avalon rep to prove it to me that he was not lying...EXCELLENT PLACE AND EXCELLENT SALESMEN . Ordered a front storage bin for my Sea-Doo from their eBay store on 7/12/20. Shipping quote was 7/16/20. Item did not arrive until 7/28/20. When I opened, found that they gave me two left latches instead of a left and a right. Immediately emailed them through eBay and called and left a voicemail. The next day I still had not received a response so I called again. They told me they would look into and get back to me. Two days later I called again as I had not heard back. This time they told me they ordered the part from Sea-Doo and they were waiting for it to be shipped to them and they would ship to me. I begged them to please not use USPS as their shipping is delayed and I would pay for another service. A week later I call back because I have not heard anything and the guy tells me it was shipped on 8/6/20 and gives me tracking...of course they shipped it USPS! So now it is 8/12/20, my package was supposed to be delivered on 8/10/20, but it is stuck somewhere at USPS “in transit arriving late.” It has been one month and I still have not received what I bought. Do not deal with this place, they literally are terrible in all aspects! #facts

Doug Russell Marine Performed a complete re-power of my Trophy including a new Mercruiser 3.0 and an Alpha one gen II drive.The price was excellent and the re-power was completed before I received quotes back from several other marinas. I learned they have a huge inventory of engines and parts which allows them to move a little faster. It has taken me longer to get a fuel pump from my local dealer then it took DRM to re-power the full boat. Also no Nickle and Dime nonsense. I knew the boat likely needed new front mounts and they confirmed when the pulled the engine. They charged me for the parts of course but I was amazed they didnt charge me for the labor.In summary:1) They performed the work they said they would perform2) They did the work at the price they said they would do it for3) They completed the work it in less time then they said it would takeHappy I decided to move forward in spite of some mostly vague negative and some seemly sensitive reviews. My boat would still be sitting in the driveway this weekend. Only lost a couple of weeks and thrilled. Hope your experience is as positive as mine.
Purchase out Drive and a lower unit and a coupling, when I received it the outdrive would not shift into gear which, now cost me time and money they were closed on Saturday and Sunday on Labor Day weekend need to get the boat back in the water my mechanic Took the old part of my own upper unit and fix it my mechanic talk to Doug Russell told him what he had did Doug wanted to say see the old one We return everything for a coil fee Naturally you did not honor that # customer service employee named Mark does not return calls and I spent $11,500 with these people I am done

Had an awesome experience with these guys. Greg, Mark and Doug himself went above and beyond. I had to wait a bit for the parts to be ready and had a wonderful conversation with Mark who also offered me coffee while i waited. Kid who put the drives in my car was also super polite and wished me well. Greg was fast and efficient doing the paperwork and keeping things moving. Plus, price was $1700 less than competition on each unit. Highly recommend.

Their excellent service enabled me to be back on the water within a week with an upgraded out drive that was on back order with Volvo ! Spent over $900 on a small outboard last year. Had starting issues took to have them look at it. Spent the winter inside at 60 degrees fully winterized. People there told me I did all wrong and they said they would try and fit me in. No call for 3 weeks. Took it to another Merc dealer. Was fixed in less then as half hour. No charge. My rating of Russell Marine negative 10. Customer service stinks. Even when the item you bought is still under warranty. Been told this by 20 people now. Stay away.
Greatest Service ever. We were traveling and our tandem axle boat trailer lost a wheel and destroyed the axle. These guys on a Saturday with a skeleton staff rallied to fix our trailer to get us back on the road. They stayed late to finish the job. We could have been delayed for days but these guys made it happen. My greatest appreciation and thank you. This is what caring customer service is about.
Sold factory parts, got after market parts. ebay store was out of stock called them said had in factory parts, came as kit that was in the ebay store for twice the $$$$$ bill me as soon as i order send no email do not buy from them

And then realized I needed to ask something else and called back again and spoke to the owner again. No waiting and great service. They have the parts I need that I have been unable to find after calling numerous other companies in several states. Very fast and helpful. Completely polite and professional. Ive been shopping at Doug Russell Marine for several years now to buy my basic parts / liquids for my annual spring/fall outboard maintenance. Ive always had a good experience with them and pleased that they are a Yamaha distributor. I work very close to a West Marine store but find their prices to be much higher so I try to avoid them if I can and go to Doug Russell instead.

I recently purchased an item advertised on Amazon with guaranteed 1-day shipping. I ordered the item on Monday well before the cut off for the shipping. Tuesday came and went and nothing was received and no shipping information was available. Wednesday morning I receive an email informing me the product has shipped and that it should arrive by 9 pm on Wednesday.The item I ordered MarMax Hinge Pin Tool. I needed the tool in order to replace my drive bellows on my Volvo sx drive. Your failure to deliver the item on the day promised has caused me to now lose the use of my boat for the 4th of July weekend. I am unable to access the boat and repair it due to the storage yard being closed on the holiday. I was unable to complete the repairs due to not having the part needed. I am very disappointed with your business. I purposely choose to order from you due to the guaranteed Delivery claim made on your ad. There are numerous vendors on Amazon advertising this item and I choose you because of the guaranteed 1-day shipping offer and I have done business with you in the past. You failed to ship the product on Monday and provided no information as to why.Furthermore, I changed my shipping options in order to receive the item the very next day. I chose to get the item at a pickup center and not have it shipped to my place of business because that was the only way I could get the next day shipping. If I would have selected the 2-day option I could have had the item shipped to my office. Since you failed to deliver on your 1 day guaranteed shipping promise, I ultimately ended up waiting 2 days and to add further insult had to make the 2 hour trip to the pickup center and back to my office to get the item.Again, I am very disappointed in your lack of customer service and blatant dishonesty in order to sell items on Amazon.
I recently purchased a set of manifolds and risers from this company.I price was fair and the delivery was prompt.However, when my mechanic open the boxes, all of the gaskets were damaged and some bolts were missing.I have for reimbursement but I was told that their policy would not allow for this.So, I had to pay over $100 more for these parts and all Russell Marine would do was to offer me a $15 dollar credit.Thinking this is my last purchase with these folks.
So far so good. Ive had issues at other marinas in the area, Doug had be great so far. Knowledgeable, honest, a bit expensive, but its a boat. Doug himself is still available to talk to on request.

Bought new (leftover) 2015 SeaDoo GTI SE. Best price i could find by about $450. Was a simple transaction. Ski was prepped and ready as promised. Gave me a quick overview and I was on my way. Have no idea about parts or service as others posters have complained, but overall mine was a good experience.

Worst company ever! Purchased a part, paid for it immediately, 8 days later.... he still hasnt shipped it. I wrote 4 emails over the week and he never responded to any of them. Because of this, our fishing trip that was planned this week is now ruined because we dont have the part. This company is a scam and I would think twice before doing business with them.

Some reviews were good, Some were not so good and I made a decision to deal with this company. Worst boat dealer EVER ! Run ! As soon as the check clears dear old Doug wants nothing to do with you. Screwed me over bad on a new Larson to the point where I ended up taking my issue with Volvo-Penta who sent out a rep. The rep could not believe what a poor job was done to *repair* the engine multiple times (which was at the dealer more that it was in my lake the first year of ownership)Doug Russell used to be the largest dealer of Larson boats on the East coast. Now he doesnt carry the new Larson line anymore. I assume Larson pulled the plug after receiving so many complaints about the dealer and service. Do yourself a favor and go a little further down route 20 to a real dealer.I would give Doug zero stars if that was an option-

I had my boat serviced at Doug Russell in the Fall. They installed a new carburetor on my 2003 Seaswirl Striper with a 5.0 Volvo Penta, winterized it, and also installed new trim lines as the old ones were leaking. Mark was awesome to work with, the price was fair, and the quality of work was great. Ill continue to use Doug Russell Marine for all my boating needs.
I had read Doug Russell Marine reviews and was extremely hesitant to go there until I asked around on the lakes around the area. It turns out one of my friends goes there with his SeaDoo, so I thought I’d give it a try. After going to another dealer and they knew nothing about SeaDoos but all about motocross, after that dealer ordered the wrong parts I had to go somewhere. I had bought a 2007 SeaDoo that had not been run for 4 years. I had taken out the gas that was left in the tank, cleaned the carburetor, checked the plugs and got it to run but not good enough. I checked the SeaDoo website and found Doug Russell Marine. Greg Lemire in the service department was very honest with me telling me it may take a couple of weeks to get to my SeaDoo. He gave me a cost breakdown of charges and called or emailed me at every issue and got to one point where they had the machine apart and asked if I wanted a part replaced since they were working on the machine. Step by step he contacted me and then to my surprise called me in less than a week it was ready, under my budget. I was thrilled, took it out on the lake and that machine can fly. Doug Russell himself came out to see me as I waited for the SeaDoo to be bought out. He talked with me and I told him about the negative reviews, he was very concerned about the reviews I mentioned to him and asked me to contact him and be honest if there were any problems. Well the only problem I had was all the bad reviews, the staff at Doug Russell are great people and want to make the customer happy, I am, and that’s why I have taken the time to give them 5 stars and write a positive review. Dour Russell Marine is a great place to go my invoice number was 319244 and I dare those that gave bad reviews to give their invoice number so Doug can help them out.Thank you Doug Russell Marine and especially Greg Lemire in the service department please pass my thanks to those that worked on my machine. Worst used boat sales ever. Hayes was my salesman and when I went in to ask about the boat history he gave me the runaround. Had no idea where the boat came from, how many previous owners etc. Went back months later to look at a boat that I won on their eBay listing. I had to cancel the transaction through eBay and PayPal. The boat was completely rotted out and looked like it sunk. Again salesman Hayes had no information on he boat just was like, oh I dont know about that boat, the owner is selling it for a friend bla bla bla. Hes the salesman but claims to know nothing about the products when theres a problem with them. Very shady dealer.
Tried asking a question on eBay with no response called twice I was hung on once and the second time I was transferred to a voicemail box left a message and no response both times I was left on hold for around 15 minutes boy am I glad I didnt spend the thousands of dollars on a mercruiser repower with them do yourself a favor and stay away theres company who care about you as a consumer do as I did and go on iboats forums and ask around
