We LOVE this place! A small local business with lots to offer! Tons of plants, sustainable products, pelts, taxidermy, crystals and more! Lovely environment, upbeat music, lots of natural light and great decor. The staff is awesome and super friendly! We heard about this store on TikTok and were pleased to hear they were featured in Vogue! We’re fans on social media and will definitely be back. Keep up the great work Seed To Stem! 💗
Seed to Stem is what all plant shops should aspire to!! They represent everything you want in a local shop. Aside from the gorgeous aesthetics, they have an AMAZING selection and wonderful, caring staff. I have over 65 plants and they always have something new and cool. Their selection is constantly changing. You can find trendy plants, hard-to-find plants (I loved the Hoyas on my last visit), and classics. The staff is willing to take the time to talk to you about your questions without making you feel silly and they’ll help you find the proper plant for you, whether you’re a newbie or have a green thumb.I am a bonafide houseplant fanatic and I am constantly browsing plants at nurseries and hardware stores and grocery stores and on Etsy. With few exceptions, the prices at StS are comparable to the market, if not cheaper. The pricier plants they have are priced that way for a reason—they’re harder to find, especially if you don’t want to buy online, and look well taken care of. Yes, big box stores have cheaper plants but their selection is usually very standard and you can forget about getting any customer service. By contrast, StS has always been so accommodating with giving advice. I even once bought a croton that was constantly dropping leaves and they kindly let me exchange more than 30 days after I’d purchased it. I much prefer shopping at StS instead of a certain well-known greenhouse in CT with much higher prices and poor customer service. I haven’t had any known pest issues from plants I’ve purchased from here, but I’ve begun treating all new plants I bring home.I live in NYC and try to always stop here when I visit family in Worcester. Even if I don’t buy anything—a rare occurrence that requires a lot of willpower—I feel refreshed after walking through their store. Can’t comment on the crystals or taxidermy, but the displays are lovely and look well-stocked. Consider this rambling review to be a testament of the awesomeness of this place!
This store is beyond beautiful. There are so many great plant options with staff that helps you pick out options that fit your skill level. The they also have a large assortment of taxidermy and animal bones arranged in such a beautiful way. The items may seem pricey but the quality is great and I am all for supporting small local businesses.
Extremely expensive compared to similar places in the area. Although the staff is nice, this does not compensate for such exorbitant prices. $30 plus for a miniature succulent????? Plants can easily exceed well over $100.
This place is like my Disney land! Exceptional selection of healthy plants, crystals, bones/skulls, and house wares. I make the hot plus trip once a month from CT with no regrets. Staff is personable and knowledgeable.
Two stars only because its nice to look at the crystals and some of the other items, some cool art and gifts, and the shop decor is nice, although the taxidermy is creepy. The plants are grotesquely overpriced even for the insane current market, and are not well taken care of. Its too bad because they do have a good selection. But they had a chance to not feed into the horrible price gouging thats going on, but they instead chose to cash in. There are some decently priced cacti in the back that are worth checking out.
Beautiful place tons of different plants, crystals and cleansing items like incense sage and more. They have such a huge variety of plants and even have venus fly traps which are pretty rare to find.
Cute shop and great for plant-lovers or if youre looking for a gift. Products seem somewhat overpriced, however. Good service and fun atmosphere to shop/explore.
Amazing Natural Shop! This place feels like your walking into a naturalists home, the mixture of living and dead things is oddly beautiful. Everywhere you look theres more plants!! Prices are definitely on the high end, but worth it for the aesthetic and atmosphere. A must see!!👍🏻🌿🌵💚
Fun place to browse with lots of interesting selections! But indeed overpriced. I bought a plant here to only find the same thing at another store for about 40% less. Love, love, love the store, but cant justify the prices.
The store is gorgeous and the employees are very kind, however I did buy a set of succulent in the glass base and had recently come to find out they’re only buried in sand and there’s absolutely no soil in the container. I’m no plant expert but I’m pretty sure most succulent will not thrive in sand alone / I ended up having to replant the whole thing again which is disappointing. I wouldn’t buy one already set up like that again but I definitely thing it’s a great place to buy plants to put in pots yourself.
Beautiful store! Amazing selection of succulent plants and house plants! Terrariums and all sorts of air plants, crystals, planters, jewelry, plant books and more! One star loss for the music being so loud I couldnt hear my daughter talking right next to me. Great music! Just way too loud.
This little plant boutique was something that could have been taken right out of my plant loving dreams. It was filled with so many gorgeous little knickknacks, charms and crystals I would’ve been happy to stay there and explore it forever. Not only that, they had some of the healthiest plants that I have seen in a very long time. This is a place that I can honestly say I would come back and visit anytime, any day, and enjoy exploring for hours if I could.
Love this place. Whenever im in town I visit. They have plants, all different varieties including air plants, succulents, flowering, large cacti and terrariums. They have other gifts as well. Books, crystals, taxidermies, pots, healthcare products. Its a need to go place. I wish my house could look like the inside of seed to stem.
Very unique items, awesome to browse. Pricey but very cool if youre looking for unusual items. Be prepared to wait in line as this place is busy!
This is an amazing store! So many cool and unique things, plan to take your time just to look at everything! Staff are super friendly and helpful with suggestions and care of your plant purchases. Highly recommend!
This place has everything and more, one of most amazing little nooks of Worcester. I cant leave without spending my budget on all sorts of unique knick knacks. The bookstore/cafe next door and antique store below makes this whole area a dream!
The store is an plant lover/instagrammers dream. The whole place screams take pictures here!!! And around every corner a feast for the eyes awaits. Unfortunately theyre massively overpriced, which really effects the experience here. Many items are also missing prices which is frustrating when youre shopping. If you need a hard to find plant though, theyre probably your best bet!
Seed to Stem is such an awesome store, it’s a must see exploring Worcester. With succulents, and crystals, planters and various apocathary needs you’ll end up browsing the shop for hours. They recently added Lithops (living stones) to their succulent collection for the exotically minded desert succulent crowd @RoadTrip_NewEngland on Instagram
A very cute eclectic plant and knick knack store. Many plants arent labeled, but the staff is very knowledgeable and can give care instructions. Many things are expensive, but with a little searching you can find plenty of reasonable things.
I’ve been dying to go to Seed to Stem for months after following them on Instagram. I was not let down! They’ve got an incredible selection and the design of the store is out of this world. I want them to design my home! It is a little bit pricy but worth it to support a local business owned by 3 super nice women.
Wonderful energy with tons of plants, crystals, pottery, jewelry, sage supplies and sprays and lotions. We drove over ran hour to visit and it was well worth it. Fair prices and great selection. Loved it!!!
Love love love this store.....not much else to say..great place to kill time and see as cool plants and taxidermy.
Probably the most impressive plant stores Ive ever visited. They have tons of unusual tropical plants as well as skulls, crystals, stones and lots of different gifts. Its a diamond in the rough.
This is a great place. To we had our first visit. It was cold and we did have to stay in a queue for about 25 mins to enter the store. But the wait was worth it. I loved the plants and gifts available here. Have been looking for a place to buy some carnivorous plants, this was it. Got a pitcher plant and a venus flytrap.
This place is amazing. Recommend it for rare plant collectors and newbies alike. Their pricing is fair and their selection is incredible varied and well maintained. They also have a really cool fossil selection and other accessories! Their plant pots are a little pricey though. While I was in my friend and I picked up a painted lady philodendron, dragon tail jade, a ric rac orchid, Hindu rope hoya, euphorbia trigona rubra, euphorbia lactea, aloe striata, and more. After chatting with the owners they were kind enough to throw a mini monstera plant for good measure!I live an hour and change away from here but honestly I think this will be the only nursery I go to from here on. This place was amazing.
Went with a group of friends and they do sell crystals (which I LOVED) but only a few of crystals not a lot and mostly in their store is plants and handmade items- prices are little expensive overall experience is moderate
Amazing selection of ants, crystals, and animals skulls, bones etc. Great books, lotions, as well. Higher end products at higher end prices.
Charming place! One of the ladies that helped me was very knowledgeable and polite. Neat and clean.! Would definately shop again
I dont know why everyone is over the moon about this store. Great stuff, but ridiculously overpriced. Employees dont seem friendly. Overcrowded during covid-19. Not impressed.
Amazing! A little pricey but beautiful items and plants. I bought my moms birthday gift here and she loves it.
Coolest store! They have the most interesting stuff and it’s easy to spend a lot of time in here.
Edit: I would like to add that the shop owner has reached out and explained they were not aware of this situation until much later in the day, and they would like to try to make it up. As I mentioned, I have shopped here before with positive experiences so I will try to not let this negative experience determine my complete impression of this small businessHorribly disappointed with my experience today... I have shopped at Seed to Stem a few times in the past and thought they were a great place, but today completely ruined my idea of this business.I was very certain that our shopping appointment had been scheduled for a specific time. Apparently they had made a mistake on their end and admitted thats probably what happened, but they had our appointment in their book for a different time than I had originally scheduled with them over the phone. We arrived at the building what we thought was 20 minutes early, so we decided to kill some time in the antiques shop downstairs. I missed a call from Seed to Stem while we were there. I called back 5 minutes later and explained that I was sure my appointment was supposed to be at 2pm. The girl said she thought that it was a mix-up before calling me and apologized, but now someone else was arriving for a 2pm appointment and we would not be able to enter the store. I was offered a couple inconvenient options (an opening late in the afternoon or tomorrow), which I explained would not work for us. I also suggested that if they had openings 2 hours later would it be possible to push back only a couple of appointments by only 15 minutes to accommodate us for THEIR mistake. I was then told it would just be too difficult to contact the other customers and explain a short delay in their appointments. They will admit they made a mistake, but its just too difficult to fix it?! This is just horrible customer service, and gives the impression that they are too lazy to handle their mistakes. We traveled over an hour for a shopping appointment, and arrived early, ready to spend hundreds of dollars today, but now Seed to Stem has lost at least 3 and possibly many more customers because it was just too difficult for them...
Lovely place but the cashiers sometimes don’t know the name of the crystals so they might overcharge like they did with me.
Very eclectic...... interesting space, interesting products. The staff seemed cool. Will definitely be back...
A really cool space in a really cool building of small-owned businesses. They have a pretty broad but well-curated collection of rotating healthy plants that cant be found at big box stores or other nurseries and various other knick knacks. I get a sense that they take covid and covid protocol pretty seriously, but do beware of the crowds that end up both in the store and that form the waiting line outside it. Its not their fault theyre so popular, but its something to be aware of when planning a visit. Also, do note that although theyre a small business and we pay for the shopping experience and plant health, the more common plants that CAN be found at big box stores and nurseries (pothos, some succulents, etc) can be ~2-3x more expensive here.
Well stocked. Lots to choose from.
So many beautiful and different plants!
Amazing place soany things to look at. They do take occupancy very serious so there was a small line but well worth the wait
I cannot say enough about how adorable and inviting this shop is. I want to come here and sip a glass of wine- I mean coffee- and read a romance novel on one of the MANY comfy chairs and couches scattered around the space full from floor to ceiling with happy plants. The plants aren’t the only gorgeous things and you MUST check out the many beautiful crystals, books and curiosities. On our most recent visit my two year old was on the verge of a Meltdown (yes capital M) after I paid for her shell when she wanted to, they graciously checked her out complete with sound effects and made this mama the most grateful person on the planet. Not only does Seed to Stem love plants and animals, they love you as their client. It is a MUST visit on Worcester.
Such a cool store! So many plants and unique finds. Love it.
Much more than a plant store. Amazing aesthetic
Fun and eclectic shoo with a plethora of crystals, plants, books and artisan knickknacks!
This store is an absolute must see for any plant lover!! Amazing selection, cant wait to go back 💕🌵🌱
Amazing local shop with a wide array of plants and other knickknacks! Can be very expensive at times
Beautiful store full of amazing plants and treasures! Highly recommend, great for gift shopping.
Beautiful place!! just super pricey for my budget
Cool place. High prices. More of a museum for me
Friendly, cool as heck, and good covid rules. Cant go wrong
This store is amazing! Would HIGHLY recommend. Everything in it is beautiful 😍
Awesome selection. Decent prices
Remember hippie houseplant stores in the 70s? This is a little like that, only way better. Gorgeous plants, books, jewelry, and books.
Cant say enough good things about this place! It is BEAUTIFUL! Stunningly AMAZING! Awesome shop to finds gifts for anyone! The plants are top notch. The people are helpful and friendly!
This is hands down my favorite small business. Everything is beautiful and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. It offers a unique variety of jewelry, housewares and of course, plants. From common household plants to more rare, you can find something for everyone.
Amazing place with all the best decorations. Smells amazing and the staff is so helpful. If youre reading this review just stop and go in the store. Every plant you buy comes with a care card on what to do to keep it healthy. Everything from this store is what you want in your house or cabin.
Really beautiful place, lots of pretty plants and rocks
Cool place, but very pricey
My boyfriend and I went to your shop today for the first time and it was amazing!! I can tell that you put a lot of thought and work into the place! I love crystals and skulls!!! We are definitely coming back!!! 😊
Unique and interesting store. Very cool selection of items. Owners are incredibly kind and helpful. Great music choices on the stores sound system too! (~);}
Pricey, no info on the plants and too crowded. No one at the door to monitor guests and sign they are expected to wait if store is full but that wasnt happening when I visited last weekend.
Very friendly staff! Peaceful environment thats welcoming and makes you want to look at every item in detail. That being said I highly recommend you look at the items in detail as there are many absolutely gorgeous pieces that deserve a long look!
Lots of cool inventory & the staff is friendly/knowledgeable
This is an amazing shop. They have beautiful and unique gifts that will be remembered. I also found their gift suggestions very helpful.
Very expensive plants need to take a small loan out just for a plsnt many taxidermy animals in the store sad to see the animals like that parking is very difficult had to go around the block several times waiting to park
Great place to stop by. Would be better if they have more parking. I had fun looking at the stuffed animals
Love the vibe here!
An adorable plant shop with wonderful staff with a lot of prior knowledge in case you have any questions. A cozy and beautiful store for all your plant-caring needs! (With some extra neat stuff, like soap and essential oils) I would definitely recommend this place to any botanist who needs a fairly priced store to visit.
Unique Shopping Adventure! Love plants? Theyve got them! Love special rocks, Crystals, fossils, books, incense, candles, jewelry, etc.? Theyve got those too! Feels like an Indiana Jones Vibe shopping here, especially with the unique taxidermy decor!
I love this place a little expensive. 🌱
The people are really super sweet and extremely helpful!!! They offer a wide variety of plants, crystals and cool decor you wont find anywhere else!! Also their plants arealways lush and healthy!!! Never had a pest issue from anything I bought from them!!🌵🌿
Although much of the decor for plants and Crystals was well arranged, I WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED TO SEE ANIMALS, ALBEIT TAXIDERMY SPECIMENS DISPLAYED. Turtles dont molt their shells which means the ones for sale(#$%@ why) had to have been scooped out aka killed so we can have decorations for our abodes . Seriously wolves are endangered and you display two posed.to look like they are howling at the moon. Yiur plan selection and display are wonderful. But your.chose.of.the animals is beyond tasteless
One of the most amazing stores Ive ever been in. Local shop keeps better step up your game! Ive been in a few times now and its always crowded which explains the number of great reviews on here. I am, however, amused at a couple of reviews who disapprove of certain items in the store and feel the need to express that. There are some books and paraphernalia that I personally dont agree with but Im not writing for that reason. Im writing as a fairly conservative person to say its not my store. And the store owners, who are very nice btw, have every right to display what they want within the law. Open mindedness is a term we hear often. However it seems some of those who profess to be openminded are actually only open to what they agree with and would have the rest of us flogged or shamed for not towing their line. How can we celebrate diversity if everyone and everything (and every store) is the same or pressured to be. The world has tried that.......its called facism. Thank you for opening such a unique store in my back yard and for helping make Worcester be a little nicer than it was before you opened. Best wishes for continued success!
I would of gave zero stars but you have to pick at least one .. Parking was a disaster !!!!! I was very disappointed walking in seeing all the taxidermy and hanging heads on the walls the baby cub bears, wolves, turtle shells with plants growing out of them, whole polar bear furs 😡😠 an the lack of respect growing plants out of the skulls just repulsed me ! And way over priced I have many of the plants they had their already and got them way cheaper at other places ! I definitely will not be going back there !!
Great space, gorgeous selection of hard to find plants, and lovely customer service. We live an hour away and its always worth the drive.
Can I just move my bed in here and never leave? I love this store. It looks so amazing and there are so many treasures to be found. You can tell the items are selected thoughtfully and carefully. Assortment of plants, rocks, books and other creative gifts. Follow them on Instagram for daily inspiration. You wont be disappointed. Cant wait for the expansion.
This is a fun place to visit if you like Crystals, plants and natural objects . The staff are very knowledgeable on their products.
I was unsure about this shop, but I was blown away when I went in! The owners were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I went shopping for crystals and the selection was phenomenal and prices were fair. They promoted other small businesses in the area.
Staff was amazing and gave very good care advice and where to place the plant. i ended up getting a fiddle leaf fig for very cheap. thank you! this store is fantastic and very aesthetically pleasing. will come again soon!
Beautiful store!!! This store is so visually pleasing, I must have walked around in circles at least 5 times. They have so many plants to look at! I will definitely be coming back to purchase more plants.
This place is gorgeously decorated and fun to visit and walk around, feels like a natural history museum. Although many of the pieces are unique and handmade be prepared for steep prices
I was not prepared for how awesome this place is. The staff is highly knowledgeable. The prices are fair, and the atmosphere is so nice in there. I highly recommend visiting this place, its beautiful
Great array of small trinkets and large ones from a range of a few dollars to hundreds of dollars. They have everything under the sun!
Great place!
This store was a beautiful, somewhat odd immersive experience. Artistically, I appreciate the aesthetic; it was quite powerful. However, like several commenters here and elsewhere, I found the big game taxidermy a distracting (if somewhat intriguing) element of the atmosphere. Per the STS instagram page, it looks like it is primarily found/salvaged work, the intent being to display these pieces rather than have them go in the trash or remain unseen a basement somewhere. More distracting for me though, and ultimately why I chose to not buy any products, was the collection of offerings for sale that included horns, uniform and perfectly intact turtle shells, large bleached sandollars/coral, that sort of stuff. Im curious about its sourcing, why it is for sale in the first place, etc... definitely a turn-off for me. Maybe I missed a sign or other explanation for the intent of the animal presence writ large, but if none such thing exists, it might be a nice element to include for folks who may be asking similar questions of potentially problematic merchandise. All of this aside, STS has to be one of the most compelling retailers Ive ever encountered... it is indeed a curatorial masterpiece.
THE place for houseplants, gifts and cool, funky home decor in Worcester. They have rare and unusual houseplants, a wide collection of cacti, succulents and euphorbias, pots and terrariums, and neat curiosities. Staff is friendly and know their stuff. Check them out even if you dont have a green thumb, the shop is too cool to miss.
