What a find!This was a such a great experience. Nico was patient with all of my questions on the phone and in person He is quite knowledgeable about guns and how to use them properly. This store has is the only virtual simulation room in the southeast.Most gun ranges give you targets to shoot at but here you are in a virtual world to shoot zombies and bad guys so you have practice on the emotional and subconscious level and actually that is an accelerated learning format.We are excited about learning with them!

Awesome facility for all my firearm needs as well as state of the art virtual training simulator. The instructors were highly informative along with a super realistic virtual reality system with real life scenarios and shot by shot feedback. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to hone their skills as a shooter as well as learn to respond to a situation within the confines of the law. As an experienced shooter, I found myself woefully uninformed when it comes to proper techniques and the legalities of being in a real life situation. I highly recommend this to anyone with a CCW.

Great group of guys with an absolutely comprehensive ability for all things gunsmithing. The tasteful selection of old and new guns on the wall was a good indicator that these guys know what theyre doing.Ive had three jobs from these guys - two AK builds and a pistol slide milling - and they all came out flawlessly with very good turnaround time. All three jobs had their own curveballs and both gunsmiths Jake and Liam were able to tackle whatever unpredictable issues came their way (one build needed extensive lathe work and some pretty clever solutions to get a smattering of out-of-spec surplus parts to fit together).Theyre thoroughly knowledgeable AK wizards, and I wouldnt even consider looking at other gunsmiths if you have a parts kit you want to get professionally built.

When I first stopped in I was impressed with the quality high end weapons they had for sale. New and consignment guns. The staff is friendly and very helpful wether your new to guns or building an AR. They have a gun smith on site and you can tell they eat, sleep and live guns. Very knowledgeable! Firearms Training Academy is one of the few Gun shops I do business with. These guys have a deep knowledge in the subject of small arms. Their gunsmiths are excellent and have an intricate knowledge of their craft. There are not many gunsmiths that will work on AKs and finding one who is compentent can prove to be difficult. Jake and Andrew are professionals and I highly recommend them. Whether you are buying your first gun or have been in the game awhile pay these guys a visit.

Wow, cant say enough about the guys at Firearms Training Academy. Like many other people, I bought a couple of pistols last year for self-defense purposes, with little experience with firearms. Over the last few months Ive visited several gun shops in the Marietta/Roswell/Woodstock area, and this is by far the most impressive in terms of customer service, knowledgeable experts and comfortable atmosphere. I took a a couple of sessions of virtual training, and I brought in an inherited pistol and an inherited rifle to be checked out and spiffed up. The training was great, and Tim went out of his way to also address several questions I had such as what to look for in a holster and pros and cons of various carry pistol configurations. He is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The pistol came out great after Cerakote treatment. When I dropped off the rifle, an M1 carbine, I was blown away by the knowledge of the owner, Michael. For example, I thought it was a WWII model but he told me at a glance that it is from the Korean War era. Looking forward to getting it back after their gunsmiths treat the wood to pull out oil and polish the metal. More than anything else, though, I appreciate how friendly and welcoming Michael and the rest of the staff members are. I havent always found that attitude at other gun shops, and it makes it a pleasure to walk in, especially for a newbie like me.

Improvements included are as follows:SLR rail system, cherry bomb muzzle device, kns adjustable piston, cmc trigger group, bone steel folding stock, 12.5” chopped and threaded barrel, cerakote (camo pattern od green and midnight bronze) etc etc etc.Many thanks to FTA for smithing and suggestions while taking my needs and preferences seriously. Total build time was about 3mo and included shop time as well as ATF wait. Not bad considering shortage of almost every part we needed during year of the Rona!

My husband and I took a gun up to Firearms Training Academy. It is my husbands granddaddys gun he got when he was 16 years old. One of the family members took it apart and couldnt fix it then was unable to put it back together. This place was able to fix it and made it look wonderful. They cleaned it up for us and everything. They didnt even have the gun that long. We truly appreciate it considering that granddaddy has congestive heart failure and his health isnt that wonderful. We wanted him to be able to have it back to normal and it will mean the world to him. I highly recommend this place. We drove an hour to use them and are so pleased.

I recently had an opportunity to do some training here and I must say that it was one of the most incredible trainings I have attended. The simulator is an incredible tool that puts you into real life situations allowing you to see your reactions in those moments and when you pair that with the training given by instructor Michael Straughan it became an invaluable experience. Michael is extremely knowledgeable and spends much time going over every detail helping you gain the confidence necessary in your abilities by showing you the why, how, and when to use your firearm accurately and legally. The firearms store that houses the simulator is family owned giving you the feel that the box stores just can’t give. Michael’s family was friendly and hospitable. Great store to shop at for all your firearm and ammo needs! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. I have purchased a .22 and a 9mm there for a relatively low price. I also ordered a rifle and had it shipped there and they made the whole process super easy! Overall great place to shop especially for people who are new to guns. I had my first training session yesterday with Max. He was fantastic! Very patient and explained everything in detail. I had no experience with firearms going in, and I was very nervous. I am a seasoned Combat Vet and I have a few things to say about this place and its people. The owners were the kindest most opening people Ive ever met outside my own family. I went in with the expectation of the other 20 or 30 gun stores Ive been to and I was for lack of a better phrase. BLOWN AWAY.The tour I was given by the owner was second to none. There was not a gun I touched he did not teach me something about (Wooden Uzi stocks from the Chinese police???). Not in a condescending way like some in the gun community. No this man talked like a father teaching his son. I have never been so welcomed into a business in my life.I cant begin to put everything into words of what I enjoy about that place in a short amount of time but Ill try. I have experience with the Armys cyber training programs(100+ hours in 3 different generations of them) and I can say without a doubt the training technology they have at this place is 20 years ahead of anything I had laid my hands on.I would put money on anyone going to this store and not finding(or learning) something that they need.Ive already talked myself into 3 different gun projects with them and I look forward to many more in the future.The best of the best part though?NO PRICE GOUGING..In this economy and this current climate of fear they have not let their prices reflect it and for that they have my utmost respect.

As an out-of-towner, I came here with my brother who lives locally and recently had excellent work done on a firearm. As I walked in, I found the environment to be clean, friendly and family oriented. To boot, there was hot coffee available to keep me warm and give me ideas for my next grand purchase.I saw the store had an assortment of long rifles and handguns and some with custom jobs. This conjured some internal questions of the type of work that could be done with my collection, even with me living out of town. While gazing at the glass cases, I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Michael. Michael answered all my silly questions and took the time to explain things to me and the process. I greatly respected the fact that even though the store was busy, Michael treated me like a person and didn’t talk down to me.Customer service is hard to come by now a days, especially in a gun store. I was recommended this place when I was looking for a gun Smith to repair an old revolver of mine. Upon walking in I was greeted with nothing but smiles and employees welcoming me and my brother into their establishment. After talking to the gun smith I was talking to the owner Michael who is extremely knowledgeable and answered any questions I asked him. I highly recommend this shop. All the employees are extremely nice, the owner is a great guy. I’d give 10 stars if I could. This place is awesome.

This is a family owned and operated organization that I had the pleasure of doing business with and the staff at Firearms Training Academy are awesome!!! I ran all over metro Atlanta looking for a gunsmith that could help me with my AK, and no one would touch it. Luckily for me, I came across Firearms Training Academy by word of mouth. I dropped in and their gunsmith, Jake, said he could help me with my build. THAT MAN IS A DIME A DOZEN! I could not believe the knowledge he possessed and the quality of work he performed. If you are someone like me who needs AK work done, or any other firearms work, I wouldnt take it anywhere else. The staff are highly professional and provide quality service to their customers. If you have not done the VirTra Simulator Training, I would highly recommend! There are only 2 of these types of simulators available to civilians in the country so it was a great experience being able to see what it is all about. The simulator puts you into real life scenarios that help you to understand how and when to use your firearm appropriately, and legally.The staff is so sweet and knowledgable, especially for those who are novices when it comes to firearms. The trainers helped perfect my grip and taught me so much about how to improve the accuracy of my shot. I will be back for more courses and to buy first gun without a doubt. Plus side, it is also a family owned business!

I’ve been going to FTA for almost a year now. Every time I go in, the staff is incredibly friendly. They are all knowledgeable about the weapons, and everything is at a very fair price. They also offer VirTra training, as well as medical classes. I haven’t had the opportunity of taking a medical class yet, but this past weekend, I took a 2 hour class in the VirTra. I quickly learned that just knowing how to shoot a gun, does not mean I’m fully prepared to draw my weapon in a life threatening instance. You learn the best way to draw your weapon, accuracy after drawing your weapon, as well as the legality of protecting yourself with a weapon. They also put you in a simulation of real life instances and teach you how to protect yourself - both with your weapon and legally. I cannot recommend this training or this retailer more to someone who uses a gun to protect their home or conceal carries to protect themselves at all times!

For someone who has little experience with guns, I wasnt sure what to expect walking into Firearms Training Academy. I was totally blown away by the welcome atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and years of experience! I like that they are family and veteran owned as well. Andrew was a great instructor, and I felt comfortable learning how to properly use a gun in the virtual simulator. I will definitely be returning for more lessons and to purchase my first firearm! Everytime I’ve been to FTA they have had what I need. Any question I have they have the answer or know how to get the answer. I’ve purchased more than three firearms and countless rounds. Every friend or relative I have I will always recommend.

My family and I visited and did the virtra training. This place is amazing!!!!!!!! The owner Mike and instructor Tim were very knowledgeable and we all walked out feeling very confident and also made follow up appointments to come back! I can’t recommend this place enough!!!! Great Group of people there.

My husband went there yesterday and was so impressed he talked me into letting him spend quite a bit there. He said the people were fantastic and gave him and his stepfather/little brother a complete tour of the facilities even though they were busy. He said he had never met a more knowledgeable and kindly group of gun people in his life(hes a veteran too so thats saying something!). I cant wait to visit and see what all the fuss is about! he also said they had a GATLING GUN right when you walk in!? how cool is that!

If you’re thinking about buying any guns or gun accessories STOP looking because you just found the best place around to purchase. This will be my second firearm that I’ve bought from them and couldn’t be happier. They have a great staff that has a full understanding of all the equipment they have and will set you up right.

Great store, actually have ammo and firearms right now! Met Mike, one of the owners and a fellow vet, who was very knowledgeable and gave me great insight on a CZ Scorpion his father had owned (great deal too!). Overall an excellent experience, will definitely shop here in the future and recommend to friends. Check out their ARs and AKs!

This is the best place to shop around for firearms and accessories. There virtual training simulator is just amazing and that experience is just something else. Which a lot of people can’t even imagine. (They also offer free training with every purchase of firearm which costs around 100$ I believe)This place is also filled with a lot of great people and instructors. They are really knowledgeable and they really know what they are doing. They also do have a great selection of handguns,AR’s,Shotguns and many other good stuffs at great prices. They also provide an extraordinary level of gunsmithing service.There customer service is also the best in town!I strongly recommend this place!The best gun store and training academy in the entire town.This place is just a whopping 100/100
