Most of the time I have a great experience at this location! The majority of the employees are super nice and genuine. I usually never have any issues selling or purchasing from this store however today was definitely a different experience. If you dont know, they have an oddly structured policy that you HAVE to wait in the store while they look through your items or else you have to take whatever offer they give and your items are on the shelf before you even agree to it. Obviously this isnt a rule that the employees came up with, its corporate, so Its not their fault in how frustrating it can be. I do however think its their job to execute the information positively and clearly and today that was not the case. I was checking in & McKenzie greeted me with the policy. I asked her to give me just a second(while I figured out if I had enough time to wait 2 hours in store), and she stared at me for 3 seconds and continued to repeat the policy and ask me for a decision. I just felt extremely rushed and pressured. I ended up waiting the two hours, within this two hours I saw the way they treated people things. They would throw stuff around that they were not accepting and make jokes about the items people were bringing in. Mckenzie ended up giving me my offer and the entire time she was extremely monotoned and definitely not genuine. This isnt the customer service I usually getfrom this store and Im not sure if I want to go back! I just want to add, maybe its a coincidence, but every other time Ive sold to this store I get a very reasonable amount for my name brand items. Today I was very disappointed in the offer I was given. Bad experience and it ended up not even being worth it.

I went in to sell some things and check the place out, was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. The customer service was decent, so no complaints there. They ended up buying 3 items of mine, which is fine even though I didnt understand why they were passing on things that they werent overstocked with already. I wear a size 9.5-10 in womens shoes and was a little surprised when none of the shoes I brought were wanted, especially since their selection was very limited in the larger sizes. They told me that my black suede Coach wedge knee high boots wouldnt sell and thats just not the case, but I guess theyre aiming for a 17 year old boys opinion 🙄

When I went, it was my first time at this store! I was absolutely blown away by both the items AND the service. I believe the mans name was Zack, and he was wicked friendly and very beneficial to my shopping experience

Very nice place with a good selection of clothing and accessories. Everything was very nice and all the merchandise that I saw seemed like-new, so they definitely sell only lightly used clothing, for the most part.The staff was very friendly and chill, and leave you alone to browse unless you have any questions or need to use the fitting room. They are very helpful though and kind.A side note though- I wasnt offered a bag with what I bought, so I assume they dont have any. This wasnt a problem at all for me, so I didnt mind at all, but if youre the type to buy a lot at once when thrifting, its best you keep this in mind!

I went into this store not expecting much. I was just window shopping and thought the store might have a few interesting cheap clothes. When I entered the store I was just browsing when a friendly employee named zack approached me and asked if he could be of service. When I told him I was just looking for some clothes with nothing in mind he made some really great assessments about what clothing I might be interested in. He was friendly, helpful, and made shopping here a real pleasure. I went in not expecting much and left with some new clothes at some really great prices. After this experience you can bet you have a new customer! I will be sure to check out this location the next time I am looking to buy some clothes.

I gave this store 3 stars. 1 because the store is neat and clean, 2 because the staff was very nice, helpful and professional, and lastly 3 since I didn’t have to wait a long time for the whole selling/buying process. However, I took 2 stars away because 1 they do not offer a decent enough cash value for the amount of products they buy from you, and I took another star away because everything in their store is overpriced; and I do mean EVERYTHING.My advice-- Just be aware that you’re selling clothes you don’t want, so if they make an offer just take it and let it be.- Since everything is overpriced, I wouldn’t recommend buying certain things you “think” are worth it. You can find the exact same stuff on Amazon for $5-20 cheaper. For example: their band tees are priced at $35, I found the same band tee on Amazon for $19.

Went into the shop today looking for some new clothes for the winter since it is starting to get really cold. Dont normally take the time to write reviews for shops that i just stop into but i was shocked when a very nice employee named Jake helped me find everything i wanted, was very polite and welcoming and made my experience at this store just that much better. I will certainly be back just for the sole reason of the customer service i get when i shop at this store! thank you jake!-A happy customer!

I have always enjoyed coming to this location to look around at the selection of clothes. However, today I went in and was surrounded by several people without masks on. I was so uncomfortable that I left without buying anything. Anyone who’s been in this store knows how close together the aisles and racks of clothing are. I feel that as a business you have a responsibility to this community to work toward upholding the safety of customers and staff. Please set a better example by requiring use of masks in your store. Until this is required, I won’t be back.

I had an amazing experience at Uptown Cheapskate! I came in not sure what I was looking for and I left with lots of clothes. I got help from a very nice employee named Alek. She was extremely helpful and patient! I will definitely be coming back soon!

The store itself is very clean and organized even smelled good! It tends to be geared towards younger adults. Tons of jeans, shorts, tops. My disappointment is they are super selective over what they will buy from you. Although I thought what I had was current as they were my younger daughters tops and shoes all were declined. New items are pricey which was a surprise. Used items are fair in pricing.

I’ve always had the best experience here! It seems that Uptown offers you more money than Plato’s closet to buy your items, so I prefer to sell here. I always find great things shopping here as well! Associates are always helpful and kind. One of my favorite places to thrift shop. :)

I went to Uptown Cheapskate Woodstock and had an amazing experience! I found some cute clothes for half the price of the usual price. I have looked across the upper Eastside of Atlanta for a really good thrift store, but I keep hitting duds. At Woodstock Uptown Cheapskate, I have seen a great selection! A couple people working there were also nice (one was named Corrina if I remember) and I will likely come again when I’m in the market for clothes. After corona dies down I will probably consider selling product as well! Thanks again guys!

I went into the store curious to see what they had. The staff was super friendly. Zack was great and helped me find the women’s shorts. The store had a great variety of clothing. My opinion as a frequent thrift store shopper, and also in comparison to Plato’s Closet: They blow Plato’s out of the water in every way. Such an excellent collection of men’s and women’s clothes & shoes, more organized, smaller, a few dollars more per item than Plato’s but always worth it! When I need a really cute staple piece in my wardrobe I come here, always easy to find good stuff. Purses are def overpriced but they always have sales & good clearance! Employees are nice & attentive, though their clothing buying rules are extremely complicated, and horrifically inconvenient when you’re out on the weekend running errands. -1 star since they literally force you to stay in the store until they finish looking at your stuff (which has never taken longer than 30 minutes). If you leave and come back, you will be pushed to the back of the line and could wait hours! Drives me crazy. On the bright side, I make way more $$ on my clothes than Plato’s hands down, they always buy a couple things. I make $20-60 every time I’m here! They buy nice newer brands for people in their 20s-30s. I am really happy with them and always bring my brother when he’s in town. Highly recommend!

Was told that it would take 25 mins to look through my clothes I waited for an hour. They tried to offer me $15 for a huge pile of my flawless condition brand name items I said no thank you and the guy rolled his eyes...... they will buy a brand name shirt off of you for like $2 and sell it for $15......... While I was waiting I looked through the clothing and shoes the clothing looks very old and used and the shoes very worn and beat up purses..... $50 for a pair of stained, matted UGGS no thank you...... used Forever21 shirts more expensive than they would be new at the store....... go to Plato’s up in Roswell they have better guidelines and good condition items for REASONABLE, USED prices....

This review is purely a reflection of the service, not the clothes. I have been in this store several times and there are some good finds here, but the employees aren’t well trained/all hate their jobs. They don’t know what to do, and act like they are too good to be there. Honestly, with how rude the girl was to our family the last time we went, I have no interest in coming back here. It’s a shame cause they do have some nice things, but I’d rather spend my money elsewhere. I hope this review reaches the manager so that the employees can be better trained, and hopefully I’ll be able to give them a better rating in the future. As for now, if you go in expect to be treated like a nuisance.

Ive shopped here and platos closet both many times and ive always had better experiences at uptown. When i sold stuff the manager allison helped explain to me how it worked and i got a good amount of money for my clothes. 10/10 would recommend if your looking for trendy clothes

Definitely the place to go to if youre looking to find forever pieces for your wardrobe. It may be a little confusing at first how the shop is constructed, but a tip is that all the more comfortable short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirts will be lined on the wall.Its a secondhand retail store that allows you to receive cash back from some of the clothes that you may want to donate. Theres the option of receiving actual cash or store credit, but thats up to you!Also, they have a brilliant and tight-knit staff it seems! Theyre all very patient and courteous to the customers (or as I have seen).

I enjoy this store! I’ve never sold anything, but they’re a refreshing alternative to Plato’s Closet. I tend to find more at this location than the Acworth one.

Selling & shopping here is a great deal. I sell my athletic wear a lot and always get a good price for it. I like buying their shoes there, always much cheaper than in stores. Highly recommend to get easy cash on the spot.

Waste of time. I called thirty minutes ago and asked if they were still taking clothes. They said yes, they were “buying until 7”. Told them I was on my way and they said okay. I get there at 6:50, walk in, and am told by an employee, “we don’t take stuff after 7”. My response is that it’s not 7 yet.Someone else comes over, a manager I guess, and says they have a bunch of stuff they have to look through and have done by 7 so they can’t take anymore. Then maybe don’t say you BUY until 7 or maybe consider telling me on the phone you have too much stuff to go through to take anymore tonight before I drive all the way over there.

6 times in & walked out with them not buying a single item with all BS excuses!Items that are not of quality existed in the store but they declined brand new purses,totes and clothing !!Definitely would recommend people not to waste their time. I usually go to the Acworth location which is way better but, my friend told me to come to this store. I brought in a big box of fall clothes that they told me they were taking and I watched them the whole time and they didn’t even go through the whole box but, didn’t have a problem going through other people’s small bags when they came in. I get they may have been trying to get them out but they didn’t even look through all my name brand nice clothes. That was just plain laziness. I won’t be coming back to this location highly dissatisfied with the staff.

Good service, and fantastic prices on awesome clothes. They also have a lot of good deals going on at various times, and did some cool charity work to support schools. The people who work here are friendly. This is where I will shop for clothes from now on!

So I walked in the store to sell my clothes that I no longer wear, and the lady at the counter asked me to sign in. After signing in, the girl at the counter said no one is in front of us so it’ll be 15 mins. So we went and looked around. We walked down one aisle, and when we came back towards the front she called my name and said she’s ready for us after 2 minutes!! Saying unfortunately we can’t buy anything from you right now because what I have isn’t in style. The clothes I brought were in perfect condition. I honestly got the feeling that them not being “in style” wasn’t the real reason why. I think that she was too lazy and didn’t feel like or want to deal with going through all the clothes that I had. Anyway I WILL NOT return to that place. Instead I will taking my business elsewhere. Like Plato’s Closet. -1,000,000 stars.

This was my very first time here and I loved it they were currently having the buy one get one free blue sticker sale and I got such a great deal. I love the Woodstock n Acworth location I will definitely be back!

My mother in law isn’t a review writer however I am. Today she was shopping at the Woodstock location and the lady who checked her out was beyond rude! She dropped the pants my mother purchased on the floor getting them dirty when my mother in law ask what was on the pants she was rude didn’t offer to dust them off, my mother in law was the only one who wasn’t ask for a phone number or even thanked for shopping.

Way too expensive for used clothing. The clothing on the sale racks outside the door still have security tags so when I walked in with my $1 pair of pants I had the alarm go off and someone just yells across the store “It does that sometimes! Don’t worry about it!”Well thank you for that because now everyone is staring at me AND I have an obnoxious beeping going off in my ears. It definitely did not make me feel welcome. Just incredibly uncomfortable.Just not the environment I was hoping for but the cashier was very nice and they’re anti-plastic bag so 👍

I generally love the idea of the store. It’s a good way for people to get rid of clothes and make money. I’ve been here a few times and I’ve had alright experiences. It’s kind of frustrating how long I have to wait for them to take only 2 or 5 items and tell me they’re not going to take anymore. One time I came I made $40 and another time I only made $25 from a few tops, shoes, and STEVE MADDEN boots. It’s a bit irritating. Also, I’ve seen some tops and bottoms I’ve been interested in but a lot of the store is over priced for being used. Might as well go to other stores like TJ MAXX and get new clothes for the same price or cheaper. I usually just tell them to donate whatever they don’t take because I don’t want to have to go through the hassle of lugging the bag around, but I might take back what they don’t take and try Plato’s next time. I guess just don’t come having high expectations.

Love shopping here! They don’t always buy what I bring in, but when they do I feel like I get more here than places like platos. The employees are great and the clothing here is WAYYY better than what you will find at platos. It’s a great place to buy and sell.

The new clothing is typically on display when you first walk in and on the ends of the sales racks.• IMO their name brand/premium clothes are overpriced (not always, but for the most part), the best deals are on the non-name brand items.Things to keep in mind before selling here:• Remember to bring your license or other government ID every time.• You cannot drop your clothes off and then leave. You must stay in the store until the staff is done sorting through your stuff. The sales associate will give you a time estimate & in my experience they are usually spot on.- If you do not want to wait 30 mins.+, then I would recommend visiting the store on a weekday.• Call ahead and ask what they are currently buying for.• IMO, if you have NWT/Premium/Current Season/Gently Used clothing and want to make more than 3-5% back of the original purchase price, I would recommend that you first try selling on Poshmark (or similar platform). You will not be happy with their offer.• You can either receive payment in cash or store credit (store credit offer is 25% higher vs. cash offer)• Don’t give the buyer a hard time if they pass on your clothes - try another place.

Recently the clothes Ive been trying on have stains or small tears. Tried on a sports bra and the strap was completely torn off. So pay close attention to the clothes you pick out. Great selection, but kinda pricey on some of their items. *Edit to add: I always turn in damaged items.* I really do enjoy this store. Just reccomend you pay attention to what you are purchasing.

Nothing special. A bit over priced. You can get the same stuff for better prices on mercari, eBay or poshmark. They have plus size but they cater to small and medium. I dont suggest this place if your larger than a medium or older than 20..

If I could give less then one star I would! I brought my clothes in to sell and was told there was nobody in front of me and it would be max 20 minutes. So I sat down and waited .... meanwhile 15 minutes in all the two girls had done was sit on their phones texting..... seriously?!?! Finally I got up and checked on how much longer it would be and they told me a few minutes . So I sit and wait again, this time they actually started going through my clothes, during this super quick look I heard them making comments such as “why would someone sell this, nobody is gonna buy this.” At this point I was furious and just ready to go! I go to the Acworth location frequently and have never had such a horrible experience

The first time I came to this location was because it was advertised as open in the area. I get to the store the first time, and they tell me they’re “only accepting donations, nothing is for sale”. Uh, ok, so I leave. Today, I’m going through a lot of my clothing and fill about eight bags only to think of this place. Great! I can take my stuff there and when they open I can get in-house credit to shop for my own clothing. Wrong again.I walk up to the door and there’s a sheet of paper taped to the door that says they’re closed. How do you ever expect to start a business this way? I’m done with this place. My clothing will go to a shelter for people who actually need it instead.

This is the most bullcrap system lmao. every time i come in they say itll take about half an hour to look at my clothes and then i end up waiting over an hour while the girls dont even seem busy. then they tell me they cant take any of my clothes and its a different reason each time. once they said it was because of the brands, but even when i bring in urban outfitters, free people, forever 21 etc, fairly new and trendy clothing, they dont want it. seems like these girls are oblivious and stuck up. like they havent taken one item out of three bags of clothes now and then i see them take similar and less valuable items from other people. its a messed up system and they should compensate when making people wait over an hour just to not buy their clothes

Didnt have a great experience, I read complaints about preferential treatment and just being shady when it comes to trade ins. Saw someone commenting that things are different now but when I went they told me to come back because they reached the max for the day (lame but understandable) come the next day they tell me theyll look at my clothes and to walk around. Walked around but then noticed as the person was going to start they noticed someone who came in and said hi, they started talking like friends I noticed she had a small bag of clothes. Kind of frustrated but let it play out and walked around. Saw the lady leave without the bag, clothes counter called me over to tell me they actually reached max for the day -_- so yeah not great.

Terrible. Will never come back. Wasted an hour here and had a whole bag of great clothes and didnt buy a thing. Give up patronizing this place. And 300% markups storewide. I hope this place closes. Staff unfriendly as well.

This is more of a high end thrift store. Tons of things in good shape.. Did not have alot of time to look around.

Only take clothes for teenagers skinny legs guess they dont think older adults come in to buy. This is my second time here with items so wont be back and if you are over 35 and dont wear skinny leg jeans or pants dont waste your time

Absolute criminals. They stole a pair of shoes from a lady and would not give her them back. She did not agree to the sale but they ripped her off. Absolute last time I’ll ever walk in that place.

First of all, the employees were cold and unwelcoming. I get that it takes time to go through the clothes that are brought in and that they may not take everything, but it’s disappointing when they only take a couple items and they literally wad up all the folded items I had. Half of the items were quite obviously not even moved from the basket because if they were they would have been wadded up as well. #sticktoplatoscloset

My mom has dropped off clothes at this store a few times, and has never had any big complaints. I came in with a friend who was looking for a few things, and I decided to get a wallet. I was at the register, and I passed the employee my card. As soon as I handed it to her, I said “OMG please don’t hate me, but I’ve changed my mind.” I changed my mind because I realized I didn’t have the money to spend on the wallet. As I finished my sentence, she looked at me, inserted my card, and started processing the payment. I was shocked that she was just staring at me after I had just said I changed my mind. After the payment processed, she handed me back my card and said that if I wanted a return I would only be able to get store credit. I told her plainly that I didn’t want store credit. I didn’t want to be rude and tell her that she had processed the payment AFTER I told her I changed my mind, so that she should accommodate me because she did something against what I said with my card. However, I was very irritated with my experience. I’m not sure why she didn’t cancel the payment when I told her I changed my mind. I didn’t want store credit. I will not be shopping there again, and I will discourage others from doing so as well. In my opinion, Uptown Cheapskate in Woodstock owes me $13.77.

Good customer service. im just upset that they didnt take more than two clothing items even though a lot of my stuff was summery and relatively new. i only got $6 back. recommended if you have higher end stuff but i was really disappointed

I walked in at 6:02 and was told to come back tomorrow with clothes for them to buy. There was one person in the store. She said we only do appraisals up to one hour before closing. I wouldnt mind if they were busy, but seriously, one person in the store. I think she was just lazy.

Wasnt thrilled with overly picky buying requirements. All my clothing was gently used if not new and in style but waa rejected. The prices for resale items here are too high. It is used...knock down the price!

Took some clothes to sell ...although they were not able to take everything they paid very fair! I was pleasantly surprised
