Wanted to give a thumbs up to Luke at SVS in Wixom. Not only was he gracious and kind, but he actually cared about helping me choose just the right frames. My script was relatively uncomplicated other than progressives, but he was quite knowledgeable about frames in regard to composition and fit. He was like a personal stylist! Then when I had to come back to get an adjustment on the fit of one pair, he literally knew exactly how to bend and heat to the perfect configuration. We need more Lukes out there in the retail world. I would recommend family / friends to go to Luke!
Just came from my appointment. The whole staff were so friendly and helpful. The Doctor was awesome. Very kind and spent time explaining what he was going to do and explaining how my eyes have changed. I would highly recommend.

Complete dumpster fire of a business. Stay far away. Assuming they even answer the phone so you can set up an appointment best you try another place. Tried to get an appointment in the Wixom office and no one bothers to answer the phone, the only way to make an appointment. They wont let you just show up because of covid and no one answers the phone so good luck getting glasses. When you call you get a message to go on line and make an appointment, when you go online, it tells you to call the office to make an appointment. To bad no one bothers to answer the phone. Very unprofessional office.
It’s impossible to get anyone on the phone. I’ve called all morning & afternoon. Its time to sever ties with SVS after years of loyalty. This is by far the WORST location I’ve ever dealt with.
I ordered a pair of glasses with my insurance out the door I paid $680.Then they took 2 months to get my glasses done. I got every excuse under the sun why it wasn’t their fault.When the glasses were finally done they were not even close to being correct. I returned them and got my money back. I went to another eyeglass store with no insurance I ordered the same glasses with everything for $600.
They were professional and did a good job taking care of me.
My experience here was wonderful! The doctor is so nice and the staff was super welcoming from the time I set my appointment until I picked up my glasses. Samantha did a great job helping me select my frames. I really liked the way I didnt feel rushed and her suggestions were spot on.
I was SVA Vision in the Wixom office on 09/17/2020 and I was waited on by Deborah and the doctor was Paul. The doctor was great and he was very thorough.polite and professional. He told me things that the doctor at the Redford location didn’t and he was much much better overall. Deborah was the best, I have never been treated with such professionalism and kind care by anyone. She was so attentive and very knowledgeable about her products. I didn’t have a clue which glasses to get or contacts to pick and she took her time and helped me tremendously. She is a gem and whenever I go back I’m looking for her.
I’m so happy I traveled the extra 1/2 hour from royal oak to go to the Wixom location for my eye exam. The doctor I saw was very professional & the staff extra friendly. This was my first appointment out of the house since covid and I was especially impressed with their safety & sanitary practice. Picking out glasses was a fun & enjoyable experience I didn’t feel rushed. I was able to take my time and pick out a pair that I love. I would have never picked these funky frames on my own, but with the help of Samantha in particular I was able to find a unique pair that I’m obsessed with. I left feeling cared for and confident with my new grams picked out. I can’t recommend this location enough.
Came here for my glasses and the doctor was great, front desk was amazing and patient with me and explained all my options thoroughly and I got the perfect pair for my face shape. Definitely going back for my contacts- their appointments during this hard time leave me at ease to come back.
Made appointment to drop off glasses via phone. They are under warranty but they pay 70 and I would pay 30. What is a warranty. Paid more to replace lenses.Kinda crazy.
Best place Ive ever been to for an eye exam and glasses. Im terrible at picking out glasses that look good on me and asked for help/advice on the matter. Long story short, they picked out glasses that I would have never even thought of as a candidate.... until I put them on. I loved them immediately!!! I never used to wear my glasses unless need be, but now I wear them most of the time because I just love them so much! So theres that... and foremost just the general experience. I made my appointment and they took me right at that time... no waiting. The doctor was thorough, yet the appointment didnt last all day. The overall communication regarding my appointment and my glasses being ready for pick up was on point. Definitely use SVS in Wixom!
I called to notify the office that I was running late. I said I could be there in about five minutes. I arrived in roughly seven minutes and waited at the front desk for several more minutes. I was told they changed their minds and no longer wanted to honor my appointment. They offered me to wait in the store to see if anyone didn’t show up for appointments later in the day instead. I would not recommend using this office.
I need an eye exam and this the closest location. However, Im leery of booking an appointment here due to negative experiences with the reception staff in the past. While I had a satisfactory experience with the eye doctor, I spent more time with other staff members while waiting to be serviced, making an appointment, processing insurance, selecting eyewear, etc. The receptionist was very dismissive, and seemed more interested in interacting with co-workers and doing paperwork than helping and informing me.
I walked in, and the employee was extremely rude. My glasses broke months ago, and no customers were in the building and she told me that I had to leave to schedule an appointment. I understand the situation that we live in, but this employee could of least looked at my glasses for a moment. Especially when no customers were in the building. A few weeks later I had to go in for another situation, and after scheduling an appointment the same employee was giving me a hard time again because of another situation with the insurance company. I think she was giving me a hard time because of the first situation out of spite. This employee even informed me that she would call me the next day and let me know some information. She never called. I really hope I can find another location that can help me.

Literally best experience Ive ever had inside of an optical center. Have attended another SVS Vision, and in my opinion this location was far better than the other. Kate was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I spent quite a while in there and she helped the entire time. Walked out with a super ideal pair of Guess glasses.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was in and out in just over an hour.

Had to get sunglasses remade after they went missing going through a tsa baggage check. As always, I received quick and courteous service . Sam had everything handled for me so I didnt have to go to the store until my glasses showed up. Just a quick adjustment and I was on my way!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dr. was very thorough and kind. They were prepared for me and I was in and out very quickly with my annual eye exam included. Highly recommend!
The optometrist was great! I felt comfortable, and he was good to work with when doing comparisons (which is better, 1 or 2), and answering my questions. I wish that they had a broader selection of frames to choose from, but on the whole it was about as many as a normal optical center. Ill definitely be back!
The company is growing and their service is getting worse. Without a realistic explanation I was told (my frames that I purchased from svs) that they couldnt replace a screw in a pair of $1,400.00 frames and they could no longer be worn. I took them to nearby Urban Optics and had the screw replace for $20.00. I also have found that I can have my prescription filled at the Sams Club without using the insurance for less money than svs was willing to charge for the same services. Do your homework. Theyre overpriced and overrated.
What an amazing staff! Always so helpful and patient with my inability to decide. With Sams help, I found a pair that are my favorite I have ever had!
Sam was great, very friendly and professional. All her measurements and adjustments were spot on. In fact, she was able to adjust the my wifes last years glasses for temple comfort; something that we were told was not possible a year ago. Also mine and her new glasses were ready in just 4 business days.
Very friendly atmosphere. The doctor and staff were patient and made the experience enjoyable. We will definitely return here for our vision needs in the future.
Eye doctor Mark super nice guy and Debra assistant very helpful last two pairs of glasses I had the same style wanted to change told her the style I wanted we both looked and she picked out a pair I would not have picked and she was right on very satisfied cant wait to get them
I was trying to be courteous by letting them know I was running 5 minutes behind due to traffic. The secretary informed me that I needed to reschedule because they couldnt wait for me even 5 minutes...for a contact check up. I have now been waiting 40 minutes after the scheduled time I had reluctantly taken...but they couldnt be bothered to wait 5 minutes! I wont be returning to this location after this...
My boyfriend got contacts, safety glasses, and regular glasses from this office this past July and it took 22 days for his glasses to come in. I came to pick up his safety glasses due to his work schedule and the woman I dealt with got an attitude with me because he wasnt there to get them adjusted, theyre safety glasses and therefore dont have a whole lot to adjust i.e. nothing. I picked up his second pair of glasses and she had the same aloof attitude. I work at a competitor with better hours and if there were adjustments needed I was planning on taking him there, which I explained to her and she rolled her eyes. He spent over $500 on glasses and we were treated horribly by this employee. Deborah however was a gem and was super understanding when I called to check on his glasses multiple times due to the long wait on his regular glasses. If she would have helped me this would have been a five star review however the other employee ruined the entire experience and as someone who works in the optical business I know that that sort of behavior would never be tolerated at the store I work at.
They are all very nice and helpful. Nice, clean office. I was very pleased with the doctor and the assistance. I would recommend this office to everyone.
The service is excellent and they are very courteous. They also have made in the 🇺🇸 USA frames. I would highly recommend this to anyone. They are also a union supported shop.

If you have reached the point where you can no longer use single vision lenses, you are going to want to read this:I went to this store because I needed reading glasses. At first they gave me progressive lenses but they do not work for my field of work. So I chose to have 2 separate pairs: 1 for computer and reading + 1 for distance. When I picked them up, I could not see my laptop clearly with the computer glasses, so I took them back and scheduled a checkup with an optometrist.Dr Kelly Tierney who did the exam was actually very nice. She explained that the computer glasses were set for too far (13 ft) which is why I could not see my laptop clearly. She corrected the prescription by setting it to 3 ft and the glasses were send back to the lab.She appeared knownledgeable until I started asking questions: If my computer glasses will allow me to see up to 3 ft and my distance are set to 20 ft and beyond ... what happens in between? How will I see from 3 to 20 ft? When I called to asked her that, there was an uncomfortable silence. She didnt know, but she was certain that I shouldnt see past 3 ft.When I picked up the computer glasses, to my surprise, I could see beyond 3 ft with them, but of course the further away I looked and the less clear it was. The distance pair only worked past 20 ft and they were terribly uncomfortable indoors ... I could only use them to drive and I found myself using the COMPUTER GLASSES to watch TV (Really?) and do anything indoors.The restrictions of the distance pair really bothered me, so I went back to the store, hoping to find a resolution. I just wanted answers. But I was shocked when the receptionist told me that Dr Kelly Tierney asked not to see me again because what she gave me was The best she could do. That was cold. So she scheduled yet another check-up with a different optometrist, Dr Paul Mark Peiffer. This is when the real nightmare begun. The exam was terribly uncomfortable. He kept insisting that progressive is the solution and was so rude I just wanted to leave. When I tried to explain the situation to him he said let me do my job well talk after. Then he proceeded through each slide so fast I could barely keep up: 1 or 2 ?... 2 or 3? He would move to the next slide before I could even give him an answer, and then he kept laughing. When I told him I want to be able to watch TV, he said he could give me a pair just for that then asked me to take the equipment he had in his hand and go out into the store to see if I could see up to 10 ft. Really? Why dont I just do this here? I asked, and he answered that they can only give each patient 15 minutes, and that he cant help me, then he got up and invited me out.He didnt even bother giving his chart to the receptionist. I was annoyed, confused and embarrassed by his rudeness.This situation has been going on since May, I have taken these glasses back 3 times, and have only had them with me really for 1 week. I paid extra for Polycarbonate (anti-scratch) lenses yet by the end of the week there was a scratch on one of them. So I took it back and they told me that the glasses are insured 70 / 30 which means that I would pay 30% of the total cost (76 dollars in my case) to have them fix the lenses. Wow? A scratch after one week? were these really Polycarbonate lenses? Most places allow at least 30 days to fix this sort of thing at no additional cost. Lenscrafters replaced my lenses free of charge and they did not scratch after a week.I wanted to share my experience so that someone else doesnt have to go through what I went through. If you have a special situation and are looking for doctors who are willing to work with you, this office will be a disappointment. They gave me 2 pairs of glasses and could not care less if they worked for me, then they tried to avoid me at all cost. This is so unprofessional I really should report them.The only person who was nice, respectful and patient was the receptionist Samantha, unfortunately she is not an optometrist.

So i take my son out of school early to go to the eye dr for them to tell me he doesnt have an appointment i even discussed taking him out of school with the lady i made it with! Not only that she has a mean rude attitude about it !!!! Then i pick my new glasses and she ask about my old ones which broke the day after i got them and they told me there was nothing they could do and she tells me i had a warranty AND i could have got new ones a yr ago with my insurance when i have fought with them and even had my insurance call them and tell them i could get new ones instead they made me wait 2 years!! This place is rediculous! And the dr is rude and i dont even believe he gave me the right script i actually know he didnt and now its too late i have to wait another yr what a joke

I tried making an appointment two times and they claim every time oh it is this other day. Im like no I remember when i made it sooo... they cant keep their records straight. They lie to you on the phone up to the ass do not go here. The only reason I considered going her is because of a stupid Groupon so i lost 70 bucks out of this deal. Groupon is refusing to do a refund Im very upset about that. I should have looked at the negative reviews before i even bought this stupid Groupon. The funny part is the other place Im going to got a deal going 2 pairs of glasses for a $100 dollars which is better then they would even do and i got in the same week without a problem.
