I actually cant say enough positive things about Carrie at Biotech. She has been fitting my son in AFOs for two years. He is young (4) and has a great deal of medical anxiety. He is often unsure about new people and situations. She has gone out of her way at every appointment to make him comfortable. She talks to him, not just to me- which is something that I dont see often with providers. She has done fittings on the tree stump outside to make him more comfortable. We have counted cars in the parking lot (his favorite) so she could observe his gait. She is wonderful! Ask for Carrie if fitting a child!
I wasnt going to do this, but I just noticed that Bio-Tech billed my insurance $400 for two 30-dollar wrist splints. I assume the rest of the money must be for their fitting of the devices, which involved (Im not kidding) shoving the splint onto my hand straight from the box and dismissing when I said that it felt strange and wasnt actually fitted to my wrist. After a day of serious discomfort, I Googled the splint and found out they were supposed to completely undo all the straps and then fit it strap-by-strap onto my wrist. Everything about the fit was off, and it made my wrist hurt worse than it did before. Ive done the best I can to make it work myself, without their help. Based on my experience with what should have been a VERY simple appointment, I can only say: do not go here.
Contacting the BBB today. I was fitted for a $750 brace that does not fit. I have not worn it, as I am still in bed rest for a spinal fracture. The office, acknowledging the wrong size, refuses to exchange it for a size that fits; even though the brace has not been worn. The appointment was made ahead of time, since it was a referral from OrthoCarolina. They had my height and weight before arriving for my appointment. Had a size not been available, my appointment should have been pushed back. With a spinal injury, car rides are not recommended. I arrived, and was told I could come back another day for the correct size. If all that they had in stock was and xl and a small, the appointment for the prescribed brace, should have been made for a later date. I now have a $750 paperweight.
Took my 85 yr. old mother (recent foot amputee) to Biotech and was extremely pleased! Office staff was warm, welcoming, kind, friendly and efficient. We met with Eric and there arent enough kind words to say about him. He was so knowledgeable, creative, helpful and full of personality!! We were not expecting to receive boot but were pleasantly surprised that Eric was able to fit her on the spot and encouraged her to practice on the bars. To say that we were thrilled with our first visit is an understatement! We look forward to working with BioTech (WS) and Eric as we continue through this daunting process. They gave us hope that my mother will be able to be somewhat independent in the very near future.
I have been with Bio-tech for 23 years. Tony and his staff have always gone out of their way to take care of my prosthetic needs. Tony will do whatever it takes to give you a great fitting and has always kept me up to date on advances in prosthetics. His professionalism, passion, and attention to detail are second to none. I would not consider going anywhere else.
Ive been working with Bio-Tech for almost 4 years. Tony and Sam, my practitioners, have always seemed to care about my comfort and about the effectiveness of my prosthetic leg. My quality of life has certainly improved as a result of their efforts. Highly recommended.
Bio-Tech is simply the best. I would recommend them to anyone that needs a prosthetic. Everyone is always helpful and has a wonderful smile. Keep going Bio-Tech and a really BIG THANK YOU for everything.
