JC is a wonderful guy and they do a great job and are willing to work with you. I had some exhaust work done on my Jeep Wrangler and a wound up taking a couple cars back to him of which you gladly was able to straighten things out for me. In one case not only did he diagnose but he told me that he could fix the issue but it was not a critical item unless I just wanted a place for peace of mind he wouldnt do it and waste the money.

This place is amazing . They are very professional and do a great job . Is the only place in Winston Salem I take my car and the always make me feel welcome and never disappoint me with the job they do .

My son took the car for a consultation because of leak! He was quoted $140. Upon arriving to pickup the car it was then $400. I spoke to the mechanic on the phone and he was rude and walked away from the conversation. The only reason I chose this mechanic shop was because of reviews but I will NOT ever use them again! I dont expect anyone to do anything for free or give me a discount but I DO expect you to honor your word and have business courtesy.

Went to another muffler shop and they were busy so I called this shop and they got me right in, within 10 minutes of calling. Really good on the price and did extremely quality work, I am thrilled with the work they did. Highly recommend going here for any exhaust work.

I had to get my catalytic converter replaced on my Jeep Wrangler and Juan and his team did an amazing job from beginning to end with the service. I had a great experience here! I found them by googling someone who could fix my rusted off muffler. I drove right up with my baby in the car, and they fixed it up within 40 minutes. He price was extremely reasonable and he didnt try to get me to spend lots of money because I was a woman. He was a total gentleman and let me sit in the office.I asked him to complete an inspection, but he informed me about I get a pass since I am new to the state. He saved me money! Totally coming back! Who needs a fancy waiting area when you get great prices and service?

I work for United Cars & Trucks. We use G & J Custom Mufflers for repairs on some of our vehicles. So far, we are satisfied with their performance. Their prices are reasonable and the repairs are completed quick enough for us. Id definitely recommend them for exhaust and muffler repairs.

These guys replaced my radiator and cooling fan clutch. I drove my Pathfinder for about an hour then it began overheating and smoking to the point that I had to pull over almost immediately. I called them back initially raising all kinds of trouble, but then it turned out to be a completely different part that they never touched. I felt like a big jerk, shouldve trusted these guys from the beginning. Will be coming back if I can get over the embarrassment, ha!

Car needed addt part for repair. Juan advised he would get part and pricing. I had to call him and was told he would call back with info. Still waiting 3 days later. Not a good experience. I had it repaired with another repair shop.

Juan installed Flowmasters and deleted resonators on my Challenger. Quality work. I have no complaints.

2020 Update: I am late posting an update, but life, loss, and multiple surgeries have truly gotten in the way this year. Back in 2016 I found G & J Customs and raved about how JC helped me with my 2001 Toyota Solara when I visited here from Michigan. I gave them 5 stars because they were professional and ethical. They cleaned up issues that I had previously paid someone $500 to fix, and that particular mechanic took advantage of me, took my money, and left my car in worse shape. Because of JC being an honest business man and a man of God (I dont know his faith, I just feel this in my heart), the work he did on my car allowed me to safely drive across country to New Mexico, and then to Tucson, Arizona. I eventually sold my Toyota to someone in 2019, and still never had any other work done on it other than what JC had done in 2016!Fast forward to Fall 2019; I returned to Winston-Salem after being overseas and had purchased a used car from a small local dealership referred to me by someone. Unfortunately, the car I purchased started to give me trouble immediately and the dealership was unwilling to acknowledge or fix the issues. Of course I went to my Google reviews to find the mechanic that had previously assisted me with my last car. To my delight, G & J Customs was still in operation and JC was still there! JC made me an appointment immediately because he remembered me (Yay!). He took a good look at what was going on with the car, and once again, an unscrupulous person had taken advantage of my lack of knowledge of cars. JC initially did what he could to make the car drivable, but upon further inspection, he advised me that the car was not safe and that I was sold a heavily damaged salvage. Until that point, I had no idea the car was a salvage vehicle.I cannot express to you enough how valuable it is to have an honest and ethical mechanic who is concerned with your safety on your team. JC and team at G & J Customs has come through for me twice now. I can truly say that I fully respect and appreciate them for what they do. I highly recommend G & J Customs to anyone looking for a real mechanic with a professional and ethical standard worthy of applause. Be careful.1) quoted $160 for spark plugs to be changed2) dropped off vehicle to have spark plugs changed didnt know the coils were bad - he went ahead and changed the spark plugs knowing that would not help - admitted it3) actual cost $231

I needed an exhaust pipe for a Tractor. Gentleman cut it to fit, and I was out of there in 20 mins. Certainly would go back there for muffler repair.
