They gave me an estimate for flushing transmission fluid. I was given an estimate for the flushing and for an issue with shuddering at low rpms. They did the flushing and made the shuddering go away. I took my car to the beach the next day and it has worked perfectly! The final charge was much less than I had anticipated paying. Thanks!

I went to L & R about my transmission on my Kia Soul. I was about to order a new transmission for my car and the gentleman said let’s drive it first before you spend all this money. Very great service! Ready to take on the job. I bought a pst driveshaft and did some more changes to the control arms, then found myself needing it shorten the driveshaft. Called and was instantly taken care of. He had cut, welded, balanced, and cleaned in no time at all. Would recommend to anyone. Drive shaft was built for a t56 magnum transmission, upgraded 1350 joints, in a 91 foxbody coupe. L&R transmission you have my business. Thanks again!!!!!

This is a family owned business. The staff is very professional and curtious. They drove my vehicle for 3 days in an attempt to have my vehicle duplicate the issue I had experienced. No charge ! Just asked me to bring my vehicle back when the problem manifested again. They wanted to be able to make sure I did get the correct diagnosis. They are honest ! It was a little difficult 2 find bc they r hiding off Griffith Rd n Winston & when u pull n there is usually nowhere 2 park + they r usually very busy w/several jobs already planned 2 do.... It took them 2 days 2 look @ my gmas car & quote her a price 4 the job... They said it would take several days & almost $2,500 2 fix her Buick so we just drove it back home the next day. They arent open on the wkends either... They had 2 leave the key under the mat 4 us 2 pick it up the next day.

The torque converter fails in our 2014 Camry, which causes irreparable damage to the transmission. We take it to L and R, and they replace the torque converter and rebuild the transmission. We pick it up, and a part in the new transmission fails almost immediately. We take it back, they repair it. It fails again. We take it back, they repair it, it fails again. We take it back to L and R. This time they replace everything that was originally installed. The car is now fine. We are not the least bit unhappy with L and R. They were as unhappy with the situation as we were. They had no way of knowing the parts being installed were flawed. They stayed on it, and we were never without a car to drive. These guys know the meaning of the words service and responsibility. I would not hesitate to use them again! (but hope we dont have to)

Had a great first experience here with my truck. Was sent here by my other guy and they took care of my needs and did good work. The owner is a stand up guy too! I would recommend them for sureUpdate a year later; have had them do some driveshaft work, another rear end rebuild for me, clutch and they have helped in other ways with my personal projects. These guys are outstanding. Stevie is always nice, Justin is remarkably helpful, David is a principled owner, Tyler does thorough work. And the shop is huge and its clean which told me they take pride in their work place. If I need any more work done on my vehicle I will go there. Recently had a manual transmission replaced in my 2014 Camaro - it runs better than brand new now - The whole staff was friendly - professional - and kept me up to date about what was going on with my car. The quote was spot on, no hidden fees - I would highly recommend L&R to anyone -

Dropped vehicle off for routine transmission service. Kept vehicle all day never touched it and never called to tell me they could not get it done. When I finally called they asked if I could leave it overnight. They do excellent work here but seems they have a scheduling problem. Took my car to the dealer and the work was done in three hours as promised.

Great customer service. Transmission in my jeep went out, and I took it here. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I however did not get the work done, as the price was to high for me.

I took my vehicle to L&R for analysis on what I thought was a transmission leak. Turns out that was not the location of the leak. I had a problem with a leaking transmission after an engine swap in Charlotte. The technician found the problem and fixed it immediately at a very reasonable cost. The technician was in constant contact with me and offered pictures of the problem. I highly recommend L&R for all transmission problems.

I have had work done twice here. I had my rear axle and differential rebuilt on my 96 Buick Roadmaster for around 2000 dollars . So far I havent had any trouble with it. That was replaced in the late summer of 2018 . The 2nd service I had done was transmission work. Same car. They told me my issue was a solenoid issue . They quoted me about 260 dollars . After replacing the solenoids they called to tell me it didnt fix it. They said it was misdiagnosed because the real problem was the transmission computer. They ordered a transmission computer but after putting it in they had gotten a bad part . The 2nd time around was the charm. While my car was in the shop for a full week I appreciated that they only charged for the solenoids . I looked up the part and found it going for anywhere between 600-800 dollars . I also appreciated that they didnt try to pawn the car back on me without the issue resolved . From my experience they seem to be a fairly honest shop and would go back again if I needed repairs.

I Had what I thought was a very serious condition going on in my transmission. I was referred to L & R by my regular auto mechanic as he did not do this type of work. I took it them and with all going on with vehicle they could have taken me to the cleaners by me knowing nothing about the problem. They checked the transmission out and found it to be fine, it was something entirely different. They could have told me anything and got by with it that it did need, although that was not my original problem and it would not fix that, as my problem is in the Engine. They were extremely courteous, tactful,, considerate, and the entire shop and technicians were all immaculate. I was not charged anything for their diagnosis. Hows that for a Honest Business, very rare indeed these days. I plan on going back next week with my classic 1965 mustangs transmission for some service maintenance for it. Folks this is the only place to even consider taking your car for Transmission, driveshaft, etc.repairs. Sold on them for life.Thanks, Steve, & GuysDoug Styers

Had a clutch changed here twice. First time used Factory subaru parts that I obtained. No problems. Second time they used their own supplier despite having Subaru Tech service bulletin and widely known problems using aftermarket clutches. Horrible shudder after installation.Discussed with shop. Would be willing to pull clutch and send it back in to MFG and have it inspected. Process takes 2 weeks, with no use of vehicle. If problem with clutch, no charge. If no problem, full fee. Not acceptable solution. Recommend avoiding this shop.

These guys rock! I’ve turned a wrench most of my life and know their work is trustworthy and it’s nice to have a shop that listens to input! I brought my 05 Cummins in for a complete trans build and couldn’t be happier. It had some issues with the Sonnax valve body but they had no issues with troubleshooting it and taking care of the problem! Thank you guys for doing an excellent job! I brought my classic car for them to fix a nearly new AOD transmission supplied by a nationally known supplier that wasn’t shifting into 3rd or 4th. The mid 1980’s Ford AOD was never intended to be behind a 60’s big block engine, so special parts are required to make it work. Although the job took longer than I wanted, delays for this type of project are to be expected. They treated my car like it was their own. While waiting for parts, it was always stored inside and covered with plastic to keep it clean. The job required two special parts kits, two bands, a new sprag and bushings. The mechanic test drove the car after fixing it, fine tuned the adjustment and retested. It is exactly like I would have tuned it myself. At normal acceleration it reliably shifts into 3rd at 38 mph and 4th at 52, and has predictable downshifts when slowing down. When entering the highway from a ramp, floor the gas pedal and it downshifts into 2nd, accelerates quickly, and doesn’t over rev the engine before it shifts back into 3rd, then 4th. The torque converter locks in after shifts, exactly as it’s supposed to. Amazingly, they also provided a three year, 50,000 mile warranty.

After spending $3,100 for a rebuilt transmission and another $175 for a new driveshaft I had returned to L and R for some more work. I called Anthony for him to build me a new front driveshaft in my Cherokee due to a vibration I was having but he convinced me to save money and completely rebuild it for $125. After reinstalling the driveshaft the vibration only got worse and a noise popped up. After months of searching elsewhere I finally realized my rebuilt driveshaft had only had the universal joints replaced, something I could have done, and the center yoke was completely destroyed. After calling I was told Anthony no longer worked there and apparently he had done the work under the table so there was nothing they could do. They said since I went to Anthony, who was the driveshaft shop manager, that they wouldnt stand behind the work even though they sent me to him to build my rear driveshaft. Moral of the story is the company will not stand behind their work even if an employee screws a customer. I have spent thousands with them but they will never get a dime from me again.
