Me and my kids like to travel around the country and hit comic book stores. After leaving this store, we kept talking about this store and comparing it to other comic book stores. It became one of our bench marks. It has back stock and is well organized. It has key comics that are well displayed and reasonably priced. It has new comics that are well displayed. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very cool. If some comic book stores are legit, then this one is very legit.

Its a good comicbook store. Pricing is okay. There are bargains to be had. Lots of cool stuff to look at . Good Selection of comics, graphic novels, and figures.. They seem to stock a lot of new comics. No T-shirts ? Not when I was there. Comics are stuffed too tight in long boxes. Still a great place to visit in a nice location. Bought a great Star Wars Poster at a good price. 💝🐮

Awesome shop. Very clean and presented nicely. If you like comics, funko pops, any action figures this store is for you. They were playing some good classic rock too. Easy to get stuck in there for an hour with how much awesome stuff they have. Going to make this a staple in my funko pop search rotation as well. Will be coming back often! Thanks Ssalefish.

We love going to Ssalefish Comics. They have a great selection. They are knowledgeable about the lines they carry. They know what is coming out and help you know which lines will come out collected. They make it easy for my son and me to get even more excited about comics and manga. Its easy to order through them if you want something they dont have. They even check stock at their Greensboro location. We look forward to visiting. We always feel welcome. The longer we stay, the more we find! I highly recommend checking them out.

A Comic Store that has no equal with a large assortment of vintage and current toys. The owner and staff are always eager to help and are up to date on the comic / toy world. Prices are very competitive. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Never been to this place but after reading these reviews and the owners responses I dont think I will! If a customer has a problem they have a right to note it. But the way the owner is responding to these negative reviews is very unprofessional!! You really need to work on a solution for your customers that arent happy with the service they received.

Excellent store and staff. I always enjoy my visits to Ssalefish. One of my favorite comic shops because of the huge selection that they have. It helps that their staff is always willing to give recommendations too. Definitely give it a look!

The store manger and less powerful Daniel told me that the Legion ring would give me the ability to fly but that has been proven false.Since they have hired a Scarlett Johansson look alike she hasn’t stopped staring at me.Jen however has been awesome. AVOID! Bought a collectible item from them on amazon, it had a huge gouge in the back of the packaging. Asked for a refund and they agreed, but after I sent it back they surprised me with a 20% restocking fee. When I questioned this they told me they disclosed the damage (no images of the back of the item where the damage was and listed as Like New) and then accused me of sending it back to buy a cheaper one. I did buy it elsewhere FOR MORE $ because I had to thanks to yours being in terrible condition. They never took any responsibility for it or apologized, just took my money and then blasted me online for complaining. One of the worst businesses Ie ever purchased from, STAY VERY FAR AWAY!!!

Love Free Comic Book Day! An awesome thing to do with family, friends or alone! Awesome way to get people to read comics or books otherwise they wouldnt even think of! Great shop wish they had older Sandman like Silver Bullet used too but thats cool. We go often .

Just received my Batman #50 variants in the mail a day after released and in perfect condition. Im always scared to have comics shipped but these guys are astounding! The store is amazing as well. Used to visit here frequently when I lived in Winston. Keep it up guys!

I visited a couple comic shops in town after I moved before I found this one, which is hands-down the best. Its clean, organized, and welcoming with a great selection of new issues and back issues. They also have a lot of collectibles and a good kids section.

**BUYERS BEWARE**Horrible business ethic... Saler is misleading & lies in order to make a few dollars. Online experience was the Worst!!! Charged $19.93 as a hidden fee for shipping when it wasnt mentioned until item was received... I paid $25.99 for a action figure with $6.49 shipping & handling in the description,but after realizing the credit card I used was connected to my paypal where I was also making other purchases elsewhere,I decided I wanted to use my Wells Fargo bank card instead. So I canceled the item while in transit for a Return so I could repurchase it with a different credit card and I put this as the reason when asked during the process for the printable Return Shipping label and as soon as the package was delivered/had arrived,I immediately went to UPS & returned it...Fast forward 2 days later I receive a pop up,email & text saying Refund issued: $12.55....Yes $12.55...When I contacted them after the run around misleading reasons for charging me $19.93 I was told I didnt make anything. Thats what I was charged. I didnt make a time(he/she meant dime). It is not my fault that you dont know how to shop. meaning whatever they was charged was passed on to me. So as Ive found the exact same figure for $10 cheaper I decided to just bite the loss & eat it but I feel this experience needed to be shared....Very Shady Business Practice and Unprofessional...***BUYERS BEWARE***

Far and away the best comic/collectibles store in the area. I have been shopping here for over five years. The staff and owner always treat me and my family like gold. Huge back issue section and they always have the current books laid out in a clear easy to get to way. Awesome store.

Was looking for some new POP! figurines. Gave the shop a call, they let me know exactly what they had available, and even what they could order for me! Transaction was super smooth, my items arrived quickly and one of the owners Stephen was a dream to deal with! Ill be back again for sure!

Clean, orderly shop with helpful staff. Yes, theyll remind shoppers not to handle the expensive, rare items clearly marked DO NOT TOUCH or ASK FOR HELP WITH THIS ITEM but when youre dealing with collectors that like absolutely mint condition items, Id think most would appreciate that attention to detail and care. Ive shopped here for years and prefer to Buy Local to support my local economy. I have seen plenty of Amazon Showroom customers come in, and even theyre treated politely and given the help they ask for. I have to think that most of the negative comments are coming from competitors stooges, especially since theyve chosen to remain anonymous. I have had nothing but superb service, reasonable prices and entertaining visits at the store.

The store is very nice, well maintained and new books are easily accessible. The staff leaves something to be desired. There have been a number of instances where Ive heard them openly mocking customers after they left the store. They arent really interested in creating a communal or social experience with customers.

I love this store! Whenever we are visiting relatives in North Carolina, we make sure to stop here. Its a must! The selection is great, and the store is very well organized. There is something for everyone, and I have found the staff very helpful and knowledgable when choosing things for my children. They have made great recommendations. Classic place. Big Bang Theory would fit right in. Bit high end for this old dude. 300 for a Green Lantern was a bit much but I guess it all depends on what the market will bear.

My name is Jacob, my mom took me here. I was very excited when I saw the things that were on the shelves. The owner came out the back and called me a drug addict. I have never used drugs,smoke cigarettes,or drank alcohol in my entire life. I am a black man and I am tall and I am thin. My mom had to call the police on the owner for calling me a drug addict. The owner lied to the police. The police went and checked the video camera. The police noted that the owner of the store lied to them. 👎🏾 I do not recommend you going here if you haveare a brown person, a tall brown person. I read all of the reviews, and I believe that these are the owners personal friends and not real customers. My mom said they call the SouthTHE DIRTY SOUTH nothing to be proud of if you ask me.. I thank God that we are not from here.

Drove 3 hours, one way, just so I could visit this store and was thoroughly impressed with what I found.The selection of comics and collectibles far exceeded my expectations. The layout is very inviting and, so far, has been the nicest comic store I have had the pleasure of visiting, very professional and personable at the same time.The staff is very eager to help with questions you may have and will do what they can to help you add to your collection.If issue you want isn’t in stock, they’ll re-order if it is still available through the distributor; they’ll even ask which cover you prefer.In all, it’s 6 hours of driving and it’s worth it to me to plan on a visit every month or so.I ordered one of their exclusive comics online on Friday 9/21 and received it on Monday 9/24.Boxed nicely so it arrived in perfect condition.

Great comic book store. The selection of comic books is pretty large with a decent selection of figurines and other assorted knick knacks to keep you browsing for a while. The staff is friendly and genuinely wants to help you find what youre looking for.

I started shopping at Ssalefish about 4 or 5 years ago. I am a teacher and went there looking for comic books for my classroom. I went in having absolutely no prior knowledge about comics, except for the common misconception that they are nothing but superheroes and poor writing. Not only was the staff at Ssalefish accommodating (I ask a lot of questions) and informative but they have continued to work with me and numerous local teachers and families to introduce children to the varied and amazing world of comics. I now shop there for myself as well as my students. I am continually impressed with their dedication to all customers (no matter their age) and with their level of community involvement. They have a wide selection, reasonable prices, and can always recommend some truly great books.

This place filters through mystery boxes so they can get the rarest ones to sell For more $$$. Do not recommend if you are looking to fine what you went for.

I go here to get Comics anyway but the staff is extremely rude. the past every time Ive went in with my family they have never greeted us. they act like we arent there, our questions are inconvenient, and all we are walking in is dollar signs. I believe if you know the people that run the store youre fine but if you dont know them and youre going in to buy comics theyre not going to treat you good. if they would stop hiring pompous jerks and actually hire cool people the place would be a lot better. just an opinion.

This is hands down the place to buy comics in WS! The staff is cool and they are always very well stocked.My only complaint (and its not really a complaint) is that they need more vintage toys and maybe an expert vintage toys person, not to say that the guy who is their toy guy isnt good at what he does its just that he is more into the modern Marvel legends than anything else and Marvel Legends makes up a very small percent of the collectable toy market. All in all this is a great, friendly store with a cool atmosphere and fantastic selection.

This is the hands down best comic book store that I have ever been too. I go here every week to get my comics. I buy so many form them weekly that they offed me a pull list to make things easier for me. I have been to many other comic book stores but I always come back here because they are the best and I have never had a bad experience with them. Not to say they have not made mistakes but who doesnt, the big thing for me is if they do make a mistake they are quick to fix it. I love this place and I can only wish other people would run shops as well as they do. BEST COMIC SHOP EVER! Would shop again.

Ordered a set of 3 items from here and they arrived damaged (Batman #50 Middleton variant). Instead of asking/demanding the distributor (Diamond) to send a new batch, they just shipped out the damaged product to customers without any warning. Other comic shops (like The Comic Mint or Bulletproof Comix) are able to get damaged store variants replaced. They even send out communication to all their customers. Shame on Ssalefish (selfish?) for not going this route and thinking its ok to send out damaged goods. I will never order from them again, and I hope Middleton does not do a store variant for them again. His art is too honest for a shop like this.

Ive had things ordered for me, sold comics and collectibles with zero hassle or problems, and the owner even goes out of his way to ask how my pregnant fiance is and how her dr appointments have been coming along. I highly recommend this establishment.

I had a terrible experience a few years ago and havent been back since. There was a situation involving a contest that they handled terribly and unfairly. I went back to find out what exactly had happened and the guy behind the counter basically said I dont know, Im not in charge of that. I tried contacting them on their Facebook page and they blocked me. Sounds like a good way to handle something, right? This review is late, but still to this day I do not know why they handled it the way they did. So I told them I would never walk into their store again.

One of the worst comic shops to do business with online. The owner led me to believe something that wasnt true, gave me the run-around, and flat out scammed me. Thats in addition to sending me a jacked-up comic that I paid good money for.I pre-ordered a limited variant set of Batman 50 comics. Two sets actually. One of the virgin covers had a bad crease from top to bottom, down the middle of the back cover. I contacted Bret Parks (the owner) at Ssalefish Comics to inform him of the issue. He offered a refund, but I wanted a replacement. He told me to send it back, which I did. The next thing I know Im getting a refund for $16.66 to my PayPal account. I contacted him and reminded him that I requested a replacement, not a refund. He told me he only had a couple left, and that they were messed up as well. I said that Id prefer to have the comic back, rather than $16 (as I could have it pressed), and he then told me he sold it. I asked if he could send me one of the others from the set and have his $16 back and he told me that I could go to the website and purchase one.Pre-order cost of set: $50Cost of set now: $75Comic 1: limited to 3000Comic 2: limited to 1500Comic 3: limited to 1000So my 16.66 refund was based on the $50 original cost, and the number of copies made was not taken into consideration. I returned comic 3, the most valuable one, but I received a refund that did not reflect this.Refund amounts should have been as follows :Comic 1: $10Comic 2: $15Comic 3: $25But then the pre-sale prices are now gone and the  current set sells for $75 (a 50% increase). Current prices:Comic 1: $20Comic 2: $30Comic 3: supposedly no longer available.So with my refund ($16.66) for the rarest book in the set, I cant even buy the cheapest comic in the set.During our email communications, I was very polite, flexible, and attempted to work things out from multiple angles. But Brets final response was If I wanted a comic, then I could go to the website and buy one.Not a good way to do business, but a great way to lose a customer for life. Anyhow, please be warned if youre thinking about doing business with this company online, especially if youre buying a limited set.

I truly wish that there was an option for 0 stars. This place is a sorry excuse for business. Went into the store about a month ago to sell some carded vintage TMNT action figures that I had that my fiancés deceased father had been keeping. Store employee bought the items for $800 and wrote me a check. This business cancelled the check and didnt contact me had I not contacted them I would have cashed a bad check. Store owner informed me that it was an unauthorized purchase and the employee who bought them had been fired and a new check would not be issued. I informed him that I had contacted an attorney and that legally if taken to court he would be forced to issue a check, he told me he doesnt like that lawyer talk and I needed to come get the turtles by the end of the business day or he was going to throw them in the trash. I proceeded to tell him how I felt about him and he told me if I came on their property that he would have me arrested for trespassing. I called the cops had them show up to the store with me to sort everything out. The store owner proceeded to try to have me arrested for trespassing, the guy really needs to brush up on his knowledge of the law because I have to be in his store to be trespassing not at the shopping center. He also lied to the police officer telling him that another police officer had told me I wasnt allowed on the property. Needless to say I got my turtles back and three of them were missing AND they switched one of my soft head original turtles ($400-$1000) with a hard head ($90 value). I ended up taking the turtles over to Burke Street comics where Ryan was more than happy to help me and also told me that I wasnt the only one who had been screwed over by this business. I would tell anyone looking to buy or sell comics or toys to stay away from this business.
