The employees are kind, the coffee is great, and their everything croissants are insanely good. The seasonal drinks arent the overly syrupy and sugary things youd find at large chain cafes and taste true to the descriptions. While I cant advocate enough for the everything croissant, every baked good looked delicious. If Im ever in the area again, Id absolutely come back. Also, if supporting local roasters is your thing, their beans come from NC!
We are visiting from Houston, saw this highly-rated coffee shop and decided to give it a try. Coffee drinks are lovingly prepared. Hubs enjoyed his mocha latte, and my latte was good as well. The coffee tasted a little too floral for my taste but was still quite good. The baked goods set this place apart, though. My blueberry muffin was perfection—fluffy, tender, slightly crunchy dome (who wants a soggy muffin top?), and filled with just the right amount of fruit. I had a hard time choosing between all of the luscious pastries in the display but was delighted with my muffin. Highly recommend!
Good coffee, nice atmosphere. Didnt try the bread or pastries though.
Awesome pastries, excellent service and even better coffee!Do mind that this location is usually crowded.Things Ive tried here:Mocha - very goodMatcha latte - great but not the best Ive hadLatte - excellent! I do like adding extra shots to these. Also, be sure to get a punch card so you can get free coffee later. And do check out the art-o-mat!
This place is great. Both times Ive come here whoever was taking orders was very patient and explained a few drinks to me. I always try to grab at least 1 food item. Between their bread, cookies, brownies, and the Mexican Chocolate Cheesecake, I was very impressed. The coffees were fantastic, and great latte art. The tea was also pretty good.
I love Camino!! I got a lavender/orange bourbon latte with oat milk. They have house made syrups and I always enjoy the small touches for my drinks. One of my favorite spots in Winston
Sorely disappointed in their “San Francisco sourdough” bread. We couldn’t taste the sour at all and were really hoping that such a popular bakery would have a good sourdough. Let us know when you have updated your recipe to include a proper sourdough. Good texture on the bread though.
Nice local coffee shop. Great drink options (coffees/espressos/teas), love that they have seasonal menus to mix it up a little. Delicious pastries.
The 10th Anniversary Tarta de Santiago, like so much of their gluten-free (and vegan) fare, is great—only this one is outstanding. Thanks for including the dietarily-limited in your culinary celebration!❤️
Their nitro cold brew is super creamy. I tried their sticky bun and herb + garlic croissant. I will be back soon!My partner and I come here most times we visit Winston Salem, now. They have the best pastries in town. This last visit we had the pumpkin cream cheese danish and a cinnamon sugar pastry made with the croissant dough. Their almond horns are nostalgic for me. Theyre always busy, but thats expected since their coffee and pastries are so delicious. The line moves quickly and the wait for coffee is short.
Best vanilla latte I think I ever had! All the baked goods looked fantastic but I was too full from supper to enjoy, sadly. I will be back for that danish!
Very good service! I enjoyed the cinnamon rolls and cookie I received. Cinnamon rolls had a nice texture and were very sweet. The cookie was soft but not too sweet I enjoyed it very well. Nice spot!
We got a rosemary and garlic loaf, everything Swiss croissant, and a token for their art-o-mat. We loved it the bread went prefect with our homemade chicken salad and croissant was buttery and flakey.
We wanted to find a cute place for drinks and dessert, and this place didn’t disappoint. Although, we did hope for more vegan options! The vegan strawberry lemonade cake was a dream, so sweet and delicate. And they have wine and beer too. Inside the shop is great for a date, studying, just hanging out. And there is a nice little outdoor area on the street too.
This was a fun place to drop in to sit and talk. We were walking around and decided to stop in for some wine. We wanted the Ruffino Prosecco but they didn’t have any cold or refrigerated so we ended up with a bottle of Cavat sparkling wine. Inexpensive and a nice place to ha g with friends or family and relax. They also sold cans of craft beer in addition to baked good, tea and coffee.
This place is World Class, Big Daddy Rich
Love this place. Coffee excellent and the Chocolate croissant was the best very authentic place.
Really super easy to be gluten free here,The gluten free muffin is to die forMy complaint is that there is no good or solid sugar free syrup option, I’m aware that they’re house made so it’s understandable but a sugar free Carmel would be great!
Well, they deleted my review so Ill put it again. Just go to Bobby Boy, the quality is better, the people are nicer, and they actually pay their bakers a living wage.
Great coffee, wonderful pastries. Nice and clean with friendly staff. What more could you want!?
Unfortunately I wasnt the one who picked up the baked goods, so I cant comment on the service. But the baked goods were delicious! The Chocolate chip Banana muffin was slightly greasy at the bottom, but it was delicious nonetheless. Camino carries a local brand of chocolate milk from the homeland creamery, and it is one of the richest/ most tasteful chocolate milks Ive had I awhile. Definetly reccomend to anyone passing by.
Quick service, friendly and helpful staff!
Its a good place. Good coffee, breakfast items .. But please note that you cannot sit and work there due to covid scene.. I actually was looking for a place to sit and work unfortunately couldnt do that... But the person there redirected me to Forsyth library. Which was awesome... Do check out the library too...
Coffee and pastries were well made. The pastries were super fresh.
Best coffee shop around. Baristas are incredible and know their stuff. You can’t beat Counter Culture. Perfect vibe.
Excellent care with pleasant and professional staff. Great location on 4th Street.
For someone with Celiacs Disease (my daughter) this place is an absolute Oasis in the desert. We all love it for the unique and delicious drinks, fresh baked bread by the loaf, decadent pastries, cakes, pies, and all other assortments of baked goods. The atmosphere is chill, inviting, and warm. The WiFi is fast and dependable. Restrooms are clean and sufficient. I cant wait to visit again. So glad we found this place!
I’ve been a loyal and frequent customer at Caminos since it opened, mainly because of its coffee, but — contrary to many reviews below — I have to say that it’s just not as good as it once was. Developing a reputation for old-tasting / dry pastries (the scones and muffins are the worst) and even some of the bread (the sandwich loaf is only good for toast) now tastes that way. Despite my misgivings, I had one of their almond “croissants” at lunchtime yesterday — not flaky at all, tasted stale and bready, like a sweet roll. Could have done better with one of those long-life pastries wrapped in plastic at the gas station. And how come they don’t offer Counter Culture’s best coffee, Big Trouble, any more, but you can buy it at Target and Fresh Market? It’s been a mixed bag for quite some time, and I’m sad to see the decline. I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, but someone has taken their eye off the ball. I suspect their expansion may be behind it, but who knows — I do think that reducing their offerings would allow them to better focus on getting consistent quality. Camino’s would do well to consider that the competition around town has really improved — Bobby Boy’s, Lavender and Honey, and Dough-Joe’s — and they stay open after 2 pm unlike Camino’s Covid19 reduced hours.
We were disappointed with the rudeness of the staff. We were visiting from out of town, and walked in (door was open) at 7:59. Instead of offering, “hey, we’re almost ready for business we’ll be with you in minute”, they barked at us “we’re not open, wait outside.” Soooo, we walked across the street to BYGood Coffee, and had a delicious cup of coffee with excellent and kind customer service. We will definitely be back to BYGood Coffee.
Great place to get together!
Great service, great suggestions, excellent products
Best cup of coffee I had this week!
Food is a 4-5 star depending on what you get. Great vegan options. But, I loathe places that ask you for a tip at checkout. It feels very greedy, forced and uncomfortable for everyone involved. Nothing wrong with a tip jar on the counter but to say “I’ll make the selection for you,” and show me the screen with tip options is unprofessional. I’m the jerk if I say “no tip,” but I don’t feel one is earned since I came to the counter etc (not waited on at a table). Also, was given the wrong code to the bathroom and again, uncomfortable to all involved having to ask for it. I’m sure they’re trying to limit walk-in use, but, it’s not the best way to approach.
This place has AMAZING desserts! I’ve tried their vegan cake and their vegan cookies. They have a ton of other desserts that are vegan or non vegan, as well as, food and all types of drinks. They are so freakin yummy! Their also have a chill vibe and it’s a nice place to hangout in downtown Winston-Salem. I highly recommend this place!!
It’s an ok place, but the staff is a bit weird and slow.We asked for bottle water and the girl was soConfused and after we paid she said they do t have bottle water🤪 We asked specifically for a late without foam and both coffees came with a LOT of foam.... not cool. The coffee is was good though!!And they were polity but the girl really slow and a bit off. And ok place but I would not come back!
Consistently good coffee and vegan bakery items. Friendly customer service. I stop here every time I visit downtown Winston.
BAKERY: unbelievably good. Baguettes, stuffed croissants, and cookies were all unbelievable. I’m from out-of-town, but will now stop for the above every time when I’m passing through.COFFEE: good. Apple cider is a wonderful fall flavor. Not a great place for a quick coffee as there can be a 20min wait, but it is absolutely worth the time if you have it.COFFEE SHOP: Good place to study. Good music, not super loud.
First time here. Place was clean well stocked and the staff friendly. We ordered three chocolate croissants. They were delicious.
This is my favorite coffee shop in Winston-Salem.Pre COVID-19, it was my favorite place to work remotely-really good earthy cozy space with lots of natural light. They also stayed open super late. I was so sad when they closed temporarily due to COVID-19. I just picked up my first cup of coffee there since the start of the pandemic. The staff was great as always. The coffee was great as always. I hope that this place is able to make it, because 4th street would NOT be the same without this shop.
I love this place! They offer plenty of vegan options that are so delicious, and offer it with such kindness that starts my day off right!
This place is quite the cute treat. The atmosphere is very indie, and attracts a young (or young people friendly) crowd. It feels so hidden behind the reflective glass, but as soon as you step in, it feels like youve taken refuge from the cold, hard city streets and sidewalks and walked instead into a warm comforting place that serves wine, pastries, coffee, tea, beer, and not to mention cider. The ONLY reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because of the lack of seating. The place is so popular that its rare to find a place to sit by yourself undisturbed. I highly recommend paying them a visit. Ive had great service every time.
I love the spring time drinks.
Delicious coffee, fun atmosphere and great selection of baked goods. Friendly staff and fun people watching from the seats by the window. Seating was limited during lunch hour and there didnt appear to be any outside option, which is the only reason for 4 stars v. 5 stars. Overall, very nice experience on my first time here. Oh! and they also sell Counter Culture coffee, one of my favorite roasters in the region and I try to find their coffee anytime I travel.
Cinnamon Raisin Bread, Coconut Cardamom Swirl, Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, Blueberry Scone..a few of my favorite things!!! Let me just say, that oatmeal raisin cookie is unlike any youve ever tasted. Spicy and sweet! And did you know that Companys Coming in High Point offers a nice selection of their bread options? Awesome!
Love the coffee here. regular hot coffee (counter culture) or fancier drinks like sage mocha. they also have lots of pastries and pie. it is on the smaller end for coffee places so usually the tables are full, but if you get there early it could be a good work space.
Very nice and cozy place. Brings very warm and comfort feeling. Enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate on a cold rainy evening. Vegan bakery options are available.Street parking. Public parking available at a walking distance.
Great food!!!! The quiche and crossiant was amazing!!! Coffee is perfection!
The very best.
Good coffee and pastres
I go here often for a solid cup of coffee. Theyre consistently putting out awesome cups of joe, and I felt very safe in their cafe during covid.
This is a staple in downtown, a real place to sip a hot coffee and warm treat. I go here every time I am in the downtown Winston.
Good sweet coffee drinks
The Stuff is friendly & very attentive!Plesse come check it out for yourself. You will not be disappointed!! Amazing pastries😘😃!!
Excellent coffee. Can take some time to make it if busy but made with love! Great pastries, quiche and other light bites. Even a few solid gluten free options. Well worth the visit.
Tasty baked goods and drinks made to order, including a seasonal menu. A variety of seating options make Camino unique - outdoor seating, handcrafted tables for two, a bar area perfect for working and watching people pass by, a community table for larger groups, and a cozy booth. Well-established local partnerships and Caminos latest composting and recycling initiative are impressive and demonstrate a commitment to the surrounding community.
Amazing croissant and Amazing coffee
Delicious baked goods and coffee/tea beverages. Went at Christmas and loved their little cookies with coffee. This summer they have a Lavendar Matcha Latte that is absolutely delicious. A+ on their Covid practices as well.
I love coming here. The service is friendly and the pastries, bread and coffee are excellent too. I have even tried a few of the vegan options and they are pretty good too!
It gets packed here pretty quickly. It is a great place to get a treat and work throughout the afternoon or get a glass of wine after a dinner with friends. I recommend anything with elderflower. Their cheesecakes are also amazing! They get busy really quick so if you go during prime hours it is likely you wont get a spot inside.
Delicious coffee and scone. Probably should check if there’s a major conference in town when building the schedule though, waited for about 20 minutes just to order. Only 3 employees behind the bar at 9 am- 1 person taking orders and then 2 people actually pushing coffees out.
It’s a good atmosphere. However when it comes to training, it seems as if costumer service wasn’t there. Asked a question about sampling. The guy sarcastically laughed really loud and said “NO. no. you pay for it or you get nothing at all”. I get that different places don’t sample (and I would’ve been super chill him just saying “sorry we can’t”). However, super rude in the way he said it.Also guy acknowledge my friend and I leaving (one of the last to leave the place) and didn’t even say “bye”/“goodnight”. He just looked at us walk the whole time. Oh well... some places are better than other with costumer service.
I thought I would give Camino Bakery a whirl while in Winston for the afternoon. I found it to be what I was hoping for; a cozy place that offers a variety of treats and a nice vibe. My daughter ordered the coconut roll, and I tried the Almond Joy pie. Both were delicious. I also tried the coconut cooler which was a refreshing surprise, made with condensed coconut milk over ice, coffee, a sprinkling of cinnamon, as well as a cute cinnamon stick, which was a pleasant sensory addition. I also had my baby with me in a stroller, which could have been a problem if I had a larger stroller, as space is limited. I ended up parking it by the restroom and holding the baby, which turned out fine as we sat on a bench by the window where she was able to do some people-watching! The smallness of the cafe is part of the charm I think. The staff was nice and helpful too. I cant wait to go back and try some of their fresh baked bread!
All of the bread and pastries have gone significantly down in quality over the last few months. Im not sure what happened but I took my business elsewhere.
Have to Wait 20 minutes for CUP of coffe
One of my favorite bakeries in Winston. My children and I love the cheesecakes and the hot drinks. The bread is also one of the best in the triad.
Great location downtown. Apple Cap is delicious.
Great coffee shop! its very cozy but often crowded. their pastries have never been bad and the loaves of bread are delicious. some of the seasonal special drinks are very creative. you cant go wrong with any drink on the board.
Ive had a lot of good times here. The staff is always willing to answer questions and help you decide what you want. My wife and I go there regularly if were in the area, and its one of our favorite day night spots. Plus the seating makes people watching so much fun. Highly recommend.
Slow, but thats not unlike most places downtown. Just waited 15 minutes to order, pay for and receive a half-caff coffee. If they kept an urn of decaf ready that wouldnt happen. I realize Im in the minority of coffee drinkers, but I think this place could do better by them.
