I have rented equipment from Winchester Equipment a few times, most recently an excavator. When the time came for the rental, the unit I had reserved was still out on rental. Matt in Winchester went out of his way to find an alternative machine so I could complete my project. The unit he found was in the Harrisonburg location. The driver (I think his name was Ronny) also went out of his way to ensure the delivery was made on time and just where I needed it in an obscure location in a gated community. I cannot thank them both enough for their help and customer service.

My boyfriend works here and they are a great company. He enjoys his job and I enjoy watching him work on all the equipment they have they are well organized and really seem to value their employees and the work they do.

Well stocked facility with ok staff, but prices are unreasonably high. Recently charged a $2.00 higher price than listed for a stihl chainsaw tuneup kit package. Sales guy said had a recent price increase. Must sure if I believe that though.

Great customer service!

Equipment sales has been the worst experience I have ever encountered. I called there several times for two days straight, without an answer or any response. I’ve been directed to the manager with no answer or response as well. I had to go buy my pallet forks for my skid steer elsewhere, because they are impossible to reach over the phone. Their response doesn’t fix the facts, people need to be fired, replaced with hard working people.

The service team here is abhorrent. They wont even stand behind a 6 month old tractor that should have been a warranty repair. And dont bother complaining to the management team or expecting service to tell you when you have an appointment, they just dont care and cash your check. Sorry to the sales team, but the service makes it bad enough to go somewhere else. Will be submitting a formal complaint to Kubota as well.

Ive bought a machine here but have come here for parts for almost all my machines. Solid customer service from top to bottom from rentals to sales. No pressure and just solutions. My sales person gave me his personal cell in case anything ever happens. You cant beat the service.

Service was great. My front tire on my Kubota tractor was leaking air. Winchester equipment ordered an inner tube to fix the tire.

Needed some help over the phone with my lawnmower and employee would not even talk with me about it. There is a pandemic right now, so I cant bring it right to you. Employee should at least be proactive and try to help a little, try and sell me a new lawnmower at least. Just did nothing. My Kubota Zero Turn is one of the bigger models and I bought it here new in cash in 2016. Still would not even talk to me.

I had a service call for my pallet jack. It took the technician 45 minutes max to fix it. He then stood around for over an hour and talked. I got a bill for just over 400 in labor! I called and wasnt able to get any satisfaction so I will seek service elsewhere in the future

We have bought 2 pieces of equipment from Billy Rutherford. Both time he has come to our job sites to deliver the equipment. He also takes the time to make sure we understand the equipment. He is easy to work with and represents Bandit well. He knows the equipment he sells and stands behind the products. I had an operator issue with our stump grinder and broke it. Within 2 hours Billy and Joe came out again to our job site. They brought the new parts and showed us how to replace it and how to properly operate the machine. Billy also set me up with our new finace guy. He has so many resources to help small businesses grow and we appreciate him. We also boought a bobcat from Geoff. He was also super friendly and helpful. He let us demo whatever we wanted and was patient with us while we played around on equipment. He also knows the products he sells well. Our bobcat was starving for fuel and I briefly mentioned it to Geoff. He went out of his way to solve the simple problem and gave us a new fuel filter. He also told us to call the following day to make sure it was right. Its just nice to have sales reps stay as involved with the machines after sale as they were when selling the equipment. Dave in parts is always helpful as well. I have talked to him on the phone several times and he always simplifies figuring out and ordering the right parts. I finally met him and he came out to make sure I had the right parts. Charles in parts has also been very helpful. I needed some parts rush ordered and he kept me up to date with real time tracking. Brandon stops me from time to time and asks me what product to buy and keep in stock. He is trying to get better feel for what tree workers/climbers really need and then make sure they carry those products. Doug one time saw us doing an emergency job next door. He could tell we needed help. I had never bought any equipment from them at this point. After speaking with us he went back inside and returned with a mini excavator. He said to use it as long as we liked at no charge. The job turned out so well and our customer was ecstatic. We were able to do the job better than planned. We graded the whole hillside and had a blast with the machine. I offered to at least fill it back up and Doug said not to worry about it. They 2 dudes behind the parts counter to the right are also helpful. They are slammed all day long and I think thats where people get frustrated with this place. If you stand in there for any amount of time you will see these dudes working nonstop. They say busy while they stay positive and helpful. They probably deal with the most amount of people. I see a lot of people also comment on when they call in. Again if people knew how busy this whole staff was they would understand why its hard to get ahold of someone on the phone. I have also rented equipment from here. The lady that works in rentals always works with us and gets us what we need. I have dealt with 2 dudes Iin rentals as well and they always help us get in and out the door, which is difficult in the mornings when everyone shows up to get stuff. Last but not least the 2 ladies at the front desk are so friendly. They always are smiling and so polite. They make the spending money part feel a lot better. I wish I knew everyones name because I have had several other good experiences with staff here. It has been great getting to meet and know this staff better over the years. The more I get to know them the better it gets. Again the only downside is that they are so busy. They stay working hard and Im sure keeping up is a challenge. Also when parts dont cross reference it can be tricky. Both of these issues are minor in my opinion and justifiable. I wish I knew this last guy in parts name. He has the middle desk in the parts offices. He has had me back in his office and ordered parts for me several times. Really every person I have dealt with here I have had a GREAT experience with. They have a great inventory. It is also important to me to buy from somewhere local. When you buy local we all grow together!

Im in love with this place. Everytime I go there I spend a decent amount of money. If you ever have ANY questions about a chainsaw go talk to Brandon, he knows a lot and is super friendly and easy to talk to. He will get you set up with anything you need. I was running the wrong chain and sprocket on my saw (put on by previous owner) and he helped to make sure I had what the saw was supposed to have. Clean place and many things to buy. Im ready to go back!

They let my 2 year old nephew run around and play on the equipment on a cold winter day when you couldnt play on the playgrounds. They were so nice. Well be buying all our equipment from them in the future!

The staff needs to learn to use the modern technology provided for them. Horrible parts department. Was there for almost an hour while the person at the parts counter tried to look up parts for me. After an hour i left with no parts. The riding mower was purchased from them. You would think they could find parts for it. Found parts somewhere else. I will never go back there again. My next riding mower purchase will certainly not be from there.

Recently shopping for a new mower. Already own an ExMark. Planning on spending roughly up to $10,000. Walked in showroom on a slow day, approached by a salesman who must have sized me up as not being able to afford their products. Salesman answered questions but didn’t volunteer any extra information. Found a Lazer Z outside as I was leaving on nation promotion ($9999) . Went back in to ask and received a “that’s an E Series” response like it wasn’t much of a machine. Sadly I have been doing some business with them since the late 90’s, noticed customer service slipping over the last few years. Bought a Toro zero turn at Dowles today. Doug, you may want to go back to your roots. The big store on the hill needs work.
