Professional and very knowledgeable. Nice guy too.
I took my new guitar here instead of the store for a setup. Half the price and done in half the time, it plays and sounds so much better now. A professional guitarist recommended Madman Repair to me, glad I took that advice. Thanks.
My 7 year old grandson broke one of the tuning pegs on his Squire Mini and I was having a hard time finding a matching replacement. When I pulled up to Madman I wasnt quite sure what to expect but within 5 minutes I had a replacement that fit perfectly with only a minor modification. Not only that but was given the tuner at no charge. Thanks so much for helping my grandson out.
I bought a used SG in December and after a few weeks, I was starting to have tuning issues beyond the usual Gibson culprits and needed a set-up badly. Madison took a guitar that had become a source of frustration and made playing it enjoyable again, no tuning issues. Thanks Madison!
I recently purchased a used Bourgeois OM Custom. A very expensive guitar. I was very frustrated because there were buzzes all over and a nut that was not correctly placed. Action too high and a bruise on the neck back. I’m new to the area and was nervous about taking this guitar to someone I didn’t know. My fears were relieved when I picked up my guitar. Madison did a superb job. Fixed all problems including the neck bruise. I can now enjoy my guitar.Thank you Madison.
Madison is awesome. The input jack on my acoustic/electric was messed up. I literally pulled up to his shop and within 10 minutes and 15 bucks later it was as good as new. He was highly recommended by other guitar shops in Wilmington and for good reason.
So glad I was able to find Madison for the guitar work I needed done. I recently purchased a fender strat deluxe and wanted to convert it to all black. Upgraded to Fralin Split Blades and changed out almost all of the hardware to black. Finally researched and found a black saddle/bridge and wanted a black nut to complete the black out. The first luthier I contacted, Guitar Lab, Wilmington, NC said he could do the work and have it back in a week, Promise. After nearly three weeks, the guy at Guitar Lab still had not started the work. I told him I would pick the guitar up and he responded, Thats fine, no charge. Really....no work and there was even a thought of a charge?Anyway, I did some more research and found MadMan Repair. I met with Madison on a Thursday and we went over all I wanted done and he happily said, No Problem. Also told me that at the worst, it will be ready next Wednesday. I received notification from Madison that my guitar was ready Tuesday, a day earlier than I expected. The craftsmanship, demeanor of Madison, and the quality of his work are outstanding. Bridge installed, graphite nut, new strings and complete setup and wait for it......120 dollars less than Guitar Lab was going to charge me for the same work. OUTSTANDING.I tool the guitar to my lesson last night and my instructor, a very accomplished musician, loved the work and the tonal quality of the guitar.I highly recommend Madison and Madman Repairs. I know without any doubt that should I need more guitar work done, I will be heading to Madman Repair. Thanks Madison.
Just got a new neck for my strat set up here. I attached the neck to the body installed tuners and strings, and let the neck sit with the tension of the strings for a week before bringing it to him, and also spent some time playing the guitar with the flat-topped, poorly leveled frets that came from the factory. Got the guitar back from Madison, and the work is really good. Nut slot depth is perfect, nut is nicely shaped, and the crowning on the frets is nicely done; I couldnt detect any more flat. All that nasty zing from the flat tops is gone and it makes the neck sound 100% better, and it plays very well. Madison is dependable, does quality work, and is fairly-priced. Ill be bringing the rest of my guitars to Madison for some more fretwork!
Visiting from NY and needed a guitar repair for our son. Madison had it completed in 24 hours. Excellent job, reasonable price. Thank you!!
Excellent! Knowledgeable, fast and friendly. Also the only certified Taylor guy in town.
Great work at a very reasonable cost!
While on vacation in town, we bought my daughter her first violin for her 7th birthday. It did not come “ready to play” and I have no knowledge of how to set it up. I drove around Wilmington looking for help and was referred to Madison by another music store. He squeezed me in before a lesson he had and gave me pointers on how to tune and maintain her new violin. If I could give 6 stars I would! I cannot speak highly enough about Madison and his shop! He saved the day and my daughter had a huge smile on her face! Priceless!
Im not a bass player, but had my 76 Fender P-Bass straightened out by Madman Repair, and now its perfect. After borrowing it for several hours, my bass player wants to keep it. Im brining him more guitars to clean up.
Brought in my Larivee D03R for a setup and was super impressed- my guitar was back in my hands quickly and plays and sounds so much better! This is the place to take your instruments for work.
