My experience with Rick and his team began a 9:00pm when I requested information on his website, and to my surprise, he responded right away with a next-day appointment to look at my boat. He visited my home and looked at my boat (twice!), gave me a quote, and scheduled an appointment. My boat is 21 years old, and Carlton was able to make it look showroom new again! They spent over three days on it, taking their time not to be too aggressive with the gelcoat. The result is nothing short of stunning! Attention 2 Detail was exactly that and more. After purchasing a used boat on a Thursday morning I searched online to see who services and details boats locally. I read about Ricks company, Attention 2 Detail. The reviews were above par, so i called. Assuming it was going to be two or three weeks for someone to even look at the boat to give an estimate, I was shocked when Rick came out the same day I called him. It gets even better. He said if I could get it to his shop the next morning he’d have it ready to be picked up Saturday morning. So I bought the boat on Thursday, Rick comes to look at it Thursday late afternoon, Friday we take it in. Not to put Rick under pressure, I had mentioned my kids were very excited & hoping to take it out that weekend if possible. I asked Rick if he’d be able to bring it back Saturday morning to our home, he agreed to. Friday around 6:30 pm Rick pulls up with our boat all detailed. Now I don’t know about your experiences with company’s around the Wilmington area, & I’m not just referring to boat detailing but all company’s. If owners gave even half the effort Rick did to my needs, we all would be living in a better Wilmington. Not only did Rick do everything he said he would but he even finished it sooner than he stated. Carlton (professional detailer) was quick to recognize the finish (paint) on the Whaler was too thin for their normal buffing routine. I bought my (first) boat recently and was really impressed with how it looked and the condition it was in for being a 2008. After getting some more time with it, I decided I wanted to see how she would look with a make over. After searching for different businesses in my area, I decided to call Rick, the owner of Attention2Detail based off reviews and testimonials. I reached to Rick after a quick search online. It was encouraging reading all of the online reviews. Rick was very prompt in reaching back out to me and made arrangements to come out to see my boat in person to give me an accurate quote. After receiving my quote Rick walked me through step by step on exactly what they would be doing and answered all of my questions. He then made arrangements to pick up my boat and deliver it back to me (which to me was a huge perk of his service). As they worked on the boat, he sent me updates and pictures throughout the day. However, I knew that I would never use anyone else when he called me at the end of the day and told me that they accidentally broke a tab on one of the compartments on my boat. I had A2D clean up a boat that I am trying to sell. The seats were so bad. I tried to clean the mildew off with high dollar cleaner and couldn’t get them clean. Rick and crew did a great job on my heavily oxidized boat. They go above and beyond to clean/wax every nook and cranny, metal piece, windshield, cushions and everywhere I could stick my head in to see. I didnt fully appreciate their attention to detail until I went fishing a week after I got my boat back and noticed that every place I cram gear in was shining and clean. Rick is very professional, a great communicator and took the time to explain to me what they do. I thought they were expensive until I saw the finished product. Couldnt have done a better job myself.

They aren’t cheap, but if you want your boat to look like new again, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. My boat’s dark blue hull needed dry sanded, compounded, polished and waxed. It looked terrible when they took it. Today it looks like a brand new boat inside and out. Highly recommend them.

I purchased a 2006 Sea Hunt Triton 232 that had been badly neglected. I had a few people to look at it before coming across Rick and his guys. They all said there was nothing they could do for it or wanted to sell me painting it. I called Attention 2 Detail and spoke with Rick. He came out the same evening and took a look at my boat. After inspecting the hull gelcoat thickness from a gouge it had, he told me that they could safely sand, compound, polish, and wax. I wanted to remove all logos and pin strips before having work done and he even advised me on how to do it and what products to use. I was very impressed by this because most people will not give you advise on what makes them money. I originally wanted them to do whole boat but he was honest and upfront with me on his schedule. Told me they were super slammed right now but could work in the hull. I know how hard it is to not over extend yourself because I am self employed also, so I respected that aspect tremendously. Rick had said originally he couldnt guarantee that the gelcoat would match exactly where the decals and pinstriping had been, but they even pulled that off!! Looks flawless!! I was ecstatic when I saw the finished product. The work was completed within the time frame I was given even after it took additional sanding to remove the heavy oxidation. Pricing was SUPER fair I feel considering what all they did. I have experimented with the topside of boat a bit and let me tell you it is work!!! Then when my annual detailer failed to respond to my calls, I was given Ricks number to take their place. Boy was I mistaken, not in picking Rick to do the detailing but in the fact that I thought my boat had been taken care of. It turns out my boat had a hidden beauty that I didnt know existed. After Attention 2 Details did their thing my boat looks AMAZING. They brought my boat back to looking almost as good as the day I bought it (would have looked new except for my use of the boat).
