So thankful for these folks! We came down from the mountains and our alternator decided to quite on our first morning here. I was in a panic and the woman that answered the phone was so kind! It was like being back home with how awesome everyone was. They recommended Kirby towing and we were towed, fixed up and ready to go by 4! Great experience here! I went to college in Wilmington and was having car issues, so I drove over to Advance and had them hook it up to the little performance tool to see what was wrong. Several employees there assured me it was the alternator. I immediately started panicking and freaking out, and brought my car here to Alternator Specialists. Just a couple minutes there and the guy informed me that it was actually just my car battery. Sold me a battery and I haven’t had an issue since, and that was years ago. They could have easily just told me it needed a new alternator or something else and I would’ve had no clue. I appreciate the honesty and their customer service in general.

Bought a starter for daughters car on line. Arrived in timely manner but noticed the assembly was 180 degrees off. Weird. Checked order and it was correct. Took it in to Alternator Specialist to find out if the housing could be swapped with the original unit. The team there did it in a short amount of time. Tested the unit and I was on my way for a small fee. Excellent customer service that saved my day. Car is back on the road. I travel the extra mile for business like this.

Alternator went out on company’s 2015 Ram 3500. Called at 2:45pm. Stevie came out to me, replaced alternator and I’m back on the road at 4:00pm!!! Great people, great prices, and even better service! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Steve and his family do a great job. If you need a starter, alternator or 12 - 24 volt motor replaced or repaired this is the place. If they cant fix it, no one can. Tops in the area. Honest people, good work. Highly recommended.

My business has been doing business with these guys for years but the last 2 years Ive been through 6 starters on two of my trucks and they warranty them but I just cant keep working about starters now in the last two days another went out and Ive gotta do something different even though its still under warranty.

Ive worked in the diesel/automotive industry since 1993. Ive only lived in Wilmington 2 years but every time Ive needed anything dealing with DC voltage these guys have always managed to help me out. Theyve also been very friendly in the process. Definitely recommend.

Have always gotten good service here in the past. Not so much this last time. Really doesnt deserve a full star. Dropped off two starters on a Tues, was told brushes looked good in one, theyd check both and call me back next day. After never getting a phone call and being busy I finally call them back on on Friday. Very short answer from the guy on the other end of the line once they found them. Theyre no good. Well, I knew that, thats why I took them there.....smh. No further explanation, no reason they never had the decency to call a customer back or anything. Im a communication person, so big pet peave here. I dont even know what day they were supposedly tested since they never bothered to call. One of the starters was only two years old. Meanwhile my truck is still sitting blocking my driveway while I was waiting on them so I could make a decision and now I still dont have a starter. Picked them up so Id have part numbers off one, the case of the starter for my truck was still in pieces in the box. They never bolted it back together. How do you test something thats in pieces when you looked at it when I dropped it off and said a lot if it still looked good?? I know what bench testing looks like....its has to be in one piece. Whatever. Never again, will just buy new next time and not even mess with these guys wasting my time and I will definitely pass along to all my friends in the automotive industry as well.
