On my way back from Iowa in a brand new Sprinter, the Check engine Light came on. I still had about 600 miles ahead of me so I wanted to make sure I am not causing any more damage if I drive on. Pulled into MB of Wichita and was told they dont have anyone available for a couple of weeks(!) to even do a quick scan of the error codes to determine how serious the issue is.I didnt expect they are dropping everything to get me fixed. but I expected some help for someone on the road in a brand new car, an error code scan would have taken less than 10 minutes.
What an amazing Customer Service Experience!I was traveling from Alabama to Colorado to California and Back. I left Alabama on Aug. 4th 2021. When I crossed over into Oklahoma, a noise of air behind my steering wheel was extremely loud then the Turbo, was gone and no power. I called places in Oklahoma, then Colorado, which was my fist stop and places in Colorado could not see me for two weeks. As I was ready to drive back to Alabama, I called Mercedes in Wichita where I was going to spend the night to make some decisions. When James Johnson answered it was a perfect experience. He talked to Campbell to get approval for me to bring in at 8:00am the next morning to see if was a simple leak like I described or the entire Turbo was gone. I got there on the 5th at 7:30am and almost talked myself to driving back to Alabama based on my experience of talking to three dealerships the day before. Then at 7:50am I walked in and James was there to meet me. I listened to my description one more time and took my van directly back to see this issue with techs. Three Techs one being Damon Kasha was on the job. An hour into the process, James cam back to me and said it was a simple gasket and should only be another hour. I was back up and running by 10:00am and headed to my destination with no issues. I drove 6300 miles and now back in the office of August 24th. Thank you to the following people for making my plans happen with ONLY a two hour delay. James Johnson, Service Advisor, Campbell Walser, Approval maker and Damon Kasha who seemed to be the lead tech. This store went above and beyond the expectations and being in Alabama, when I buy another Mercedes, I am flying in and DRIVING home.
