Quick turn around, fair prices and really above and beyond service. Took our car in before a road trip for an oil change and a mystery leak. They changed out our cracked radiator that several other places had missed and spotted a nearly failed serpentine belt as well! Haven’t had the car this happy in forever. My car had some thermometer issues so I scheduled an appointment online and got a call from Alberto who had me bring it in the next day. Later he called again and listed the repairs my car would need and how much they would cost. The pricing was fair so I had him do all of the repairs. Overall great service (he even picked me up in my car for free when it was time to come pick it up)

Called last week to get a quote on an ignition coil and 4 spark plugs replaced on my 05 Nissan, I spoke with Alberto he was very kind and knowledgeable. When I dropped the vehicle off, his assistant was very kind and friendly. While he worked on the vehicle, he found two other issues with the vehicle. He called me straight away and told me about these other issues and at asked if I wanted him to go ahead and fix them, he even had pictures taken already and wanted to show me before proceeding. He stayed late to finish the vehicle so I could have it up and running for tomorrow. When I arrived to pick the vehicle up he was even friendlier in person and amazing. He showed me where the oil leak was coming from, and explained the AC leak he had found. After the transaction he even gave us a coupon to come back and get work done later if needed. His work was very well priced and he takes pride in his work! Alberto will be getting my business again and again! (AND I live an hour away!) 10/10 I recommend Wheat State Automotive!!

I would highly recommend Wheat State Automotive. Alberto is thorough, fair and I appreciate the way he explains everything before doing/recommending any work. He did find additional issues with my vehicle, but he called before doing any additional work and showed me exactly what the problem was. The owner, Alberto, is as trustworthy and professional as you will find. We have been taking our vehicles to him for years, including our bus that we use for tailgating at KSU football games. Alberto always goes out of his way to take pictures to show you exactly what is damaged or needing replaced. He has access to factory parts which is a must for me while remaining extremely competitive on labor. Never once, have i had to go back a second time on a repair. Alberto know his stuff!!

FRAUD! I live really close to him and he did work on a car i had before. I think he is WAYY overpriced, he charges more than the dealership, but for me he was worth it because he was really nice and seemingly caring about your issues. WELL.. this is all a farce. I called him because another shop had been unable to fix my problem and Alberto had said that he could get to the problem, just he is busy and really low on time. So i take my car to him. Thinking that he actually wanted to diagnose and fix my car. He said the diagnosis is 119 dollars. Well he is kind of all over the place. First he was gonna do this, but then changed his mind, then he was gonna do that but changed his mind. I said look just run some tests you know, i think it is a vacuum leak. The only thing he did was move a coil to another cylinder and then pressure test for coolant leaks. He WOULD not run any short term fuel trim readings, or a smoke test or anything, he didnt look at the injectors, DIDNT LOOK FOR THE VACUUM LEAK! NOTHING! BUT THEN he tells me well you need a cylinder leak test for 400 dollars, otherwise itll be 120 dollars. I was like what happened to the other tests? He didnt answer, i asked him if he ran them, no answer. I said I AM NOT PAYING 120 DOLLARS FOR A DIAGNOSIS WHEN YOU HAVENT EVEN PROVIDED ONE. I think that is his gig, he wants to just charge for the diagnosis. I said why are you jumping to the cylinder leak test when there are other tests that are less expensive and could be the problem? no answer. I didnt pay the 120, but i BET if i hadnt fought him about it, he would have tried to get me to pay it, while HE DID NOTHING BUT WASTE MY TIME! I am so mad! I had to rent a car and i had NO TIME and he just was trying to scam me. FYI I talked to 3 other mechanics who said they wouldnt have done a cylinder leak test on the issues i was having.. it was unneccessary, he was just trying to get my money cause i told him i had my student loans. Well i use those loans cause I am in nursing school. ITS NOT FREE MONEY, but I do NEED my car. Shouldnt have told him that maybe he would have ACTUALLY done the work. RIP OFF

The repair to my 08 Chevy Cobalt was done quickly and well. Alberto did not just replace the AC compressor because it was not working but found that there was merely a wire broken so he soldered it back together and replaced the wire covering. Now my AC works great and I did not have to go through the expensive process of replacing all of my AC components that need to be replaced if the compressor is replaced.

I was in a terrible position, I was driving from Oklahoma City to Wichita to complete a loan transaction when my tire blew out 25 miles from my destination. ..i had a blow out two 1 earlier and my other tire was at the shop waiting on the tire to be put on the rim. So I had no spare tire. I drove as far as I could, and pulled into what looked like a mechanics shop . Everything was dark so I thought I would have to sit all night an wait. Then Mr. ALBERT HERNANDEZ came out and he went above and beyond, he helped us get a tire on the car, even without any money . He was extremely courteous and helpfull well knowing I had no money, and he was surely off the clock. He deserves recognition for his selfless act! I would refer him to anyone for his work!rj

From NE to Houston my Civic seriously started leaking coolant. Had to stop in Wichita for immediate service on the 4th of July. The owner got me in right away and was very honest with me. The issue was a very serious one and I was hundreds of miles from home. He not only helped with the car, but also showed willingness to help in any other way he reasonably could. Obviously he cares very much about his customers! Charge was very reasonable. Certainly would go out of my way to make him my regular mechanic if I lived in the Wichita area.

I have taken my 15-year-old Blazer to Alberto several times and he has made it hum each time. I trust him completely to diagnose and fix any problem. When he was a master mechanic at a major dealership here in Wichita I took my Camaro to him to fix a brake problem that had stymied many other mechanics and cost me well over $1000 dollars. Alberto fixed it and I never had another problem. His shop is very accessible just west of 13th and I-135.
