James and Mike are great guys, really care about getting it right, budget and timing. Dodge Durango 4 inch lift, amazing job, stock wheels painted and they look amazing. New smoked headlights installed. Made the truck into a head turner. Incredible work!

Integrity lacks a lot time is it a lot of Auto places. Mike and his team really strive to not only fix the problem, but do so with integrity. They were up front about the cost and when they had to do a little extra beyond what they originally forecasted the price would be, the did not nickel-and-dime the extra stuff. I have been taking our vehicles to Nichols auto repair off and on since around 2005. They, including James, have been nice and have done quality work with no complaints whatsoever. I am sure anybody can come in with a grouchy attitude and maybe not get along with James or anybody else for that matter depending on their attitude for the day. All I know is that James has been very knowledgeable, nice and even is willing to work on your vehicle when you bring in your own parts. Either way, just like any auto service place, you are paying for a convenience and a knuckle-busting, dirty job that some would rather not do. Their prices are reasonable and I am willing to pay their hourly labor wage for knowledgeable, timely and quality service even when I could probably do the job myself. Give them a try! These guys are great. They fixed my transmission on my 2014 Ford F250 fast. They also did my brakes and wipers for me, which I already knew I needed, and gave me a free coolant flush which was a nice surprise. The guy at the front desk who helped me with my services knew his stuff for sure. Ill be back.

UpdateAfter paying $1400 (exactly) on 01/28/2021 he said my car was perfect but somehow missed THE BLOWN HEAD GASKET. He was sure to charge for diagnosing it though I’d recommend this place if you like lip service not mechanic service. 3 times I was given a completion time and he didn’t meet it. Then after called and said it was ready he called again (because I’d already missed my dmv appointment) and said since I now wasn’t pressed on time (because of him) there was a few more things he wanted to “fix”. He spilled oil all over as well. Seemed rushed yet had the car 3 days.

Brought my 4Runner in here because of a crack in my exhaust bracket that needed to be repaired. In hindsight should have just went to a muffler shop. After explaining to mechanic what had been pointed out to me he said they would diagnose it themselves. After replacing a $10 flange gasket they assured me was the cause of the noise and not the exhaust bracket that had been shown to me I paid them $280 in labor and diagnostics. My 4Runner is still having the same issue I took it in for and acquired a new oil leak issue while at the shop. Whether this issue was here before or not the severity has definitely become worse as I can now see and smell a problem I did not see before. Nichols shop was willing to repair oil leak for another $700-$800 (after the $300 plus that didn’t fix my original issue) Maybe this shop is reliable and trustworthy for some but wasn’t the best experience for me and definitely wouldn’t be recommending these guys anytime soon.

I had my transmission rebuilt here and I can actually use my car again! You have a satisfied customer in me.

James (the owner) and his team are amazing! Having come to the Denver area to visit a good friend, I received his card as a recommendation since I was in need of new brakes. Not only was he able to get me on the schedule the next day, he changed my brakes out quickly and did them for a reasonable price! I had a bad feeling about the engine in my vehicle, so I asked him to check that out too while he was at it, so I could get a second opinion. After diagnosing a major problem with my engine, James was real and talked out each option with me so I could decide which was best for me/most reasonable. I decided to trade it in before going belly up with the vehicle, and James literally helped me with advice along the way with different vehicles/gave my new vehicle a pre-purchase inspection! Although originally bummed about the news on my older vehicle, I now am heading back to the Mojave desert confident, knowing that I had James help and thumbs up on this new vehicle. These guys were life savers. I broke down while out shopping and called them and they were able to walk me through how to check a few things and it turned out to be my battery connections on one side. Miraculously I was able to get my car started. They gladly helped me and didnt make me feel like I was bothering them. Its rare to find this kind of service these days.

Took my vehicle here because it was close to home and I was new to the area. James refused to do the majority of the work to get my vehicle fixed as well as tried convincing me, a licensed insurance agent, not to go through insurance because it would be more work for him. At one point he also mentioned that he was worried about receiving a bad google review. I got my vehicle out of his hands and to a new body shop as soon as I possibly could. I had a cracked radiator but was going through a hardship and had to keep filling it up with antifreeze rather than getting it fixed. It kept getting worse and I was worried about not being able to get to work and take care of other responsibilities that involve my vehicle. Nichol’s auto reached out to me and said they wanted to fix it for no charge, which they did. They also realized that I needed some hoses changed and did it at no cost. I was due for an oil change and had the intentions on paying for it but James said he’d take care of me. He provided me with a quote for a leaking steering pump that I knew nothing about. Such great people there. My car hasn’t had any issues thus far with the radiator and I’m able to get to work and do what I need to without having to worry or pull over every so often.

They were able to get me in right away to do a quick light bulb change. Everyone was friendly and very nice. I will return!

This business was extremely disappointing. Definitely wasted $600 at this business as they used the same old parts for my vehicle. James, the owner, not only treated us with disrespect but his employees as well. 10/10 do not recommend. Very unprofessional and very disappointing.

Nichols Auto Repair is an amazing family owned business. I went there with an issue with my truck. They provided me with a very reasonably priced diagnostic quote. After locating the issue, which wound up being a minor repair with my Oxygen Sensor. I was back on my way to run errands. They even topped off my fluids and helped keep my little one entertained. Than you Nichols, Ill definitely be back.

Not only did Nichols FAIL to complete a job that James CLAIMED he was qualified to do in three hours BUT he took 4 DAYS to NOT get the Job done, guessing at solutions the entire way, if its outside of your scope just say so and we can part friends.Because of this youd think that a payment would be made in exchange for a service rendered, however James philosophy is to continue to charge you full price regardless of whether the service is completed OR NOT! Im not sure about your thoughts, but if you cant accomplish the task youve been hired to do you dont deserve payment.Nichols process is to extort the cash out of you by holding your UNFIXED car hostage until FULL payment is made even though the repair isnt complete.If youre looking for the classic UNDER QUALIFIED, OVER PROMISE and UNDER DELIVERE this place is for you!

My grandma took her Chevy truck here, she was excited to find these guys so close to home, but since going here we were having to take in the truck many times, eventually it got this leak that we kept telling them about and they kept saying it was fixed. Something was fishy, so i got her to take it in somewhere else where these new guys told us the issue and finally fixed the dammed truck. I don’t know if they were trying to take my grandma as a fool or what, just be careful with these guys.

For a small shop they work quick. We went in after driving by them last week and they fixed my trucks suspension. My drive is noticeably smoother and the speed bump in my complex that I have to drive over everyday isnt making me cringe anymore which is the best part.

Very nice people. All my headlights went out and I went here for the first time. They took the time to get the lights I needed ordered and got them all replaced. I went there about 30 min before they closed and they stayed an hour past fixing my lights and doing an oil change while waiting for the lights. I will definitely be coming back here.

I was a late friday afternoon on a holiday weekend, but that didnt matter. They figured out what the problem was, let me know how much it would cost and ordered the part. Went in for a free diagnosis 2 weeks ago and they got me in right away. I couldnt afford the work right away and they did not charge me and did not make me feel pressured. I went back in yesterday to have my brakes done and they did a great job. My car stops great now. I dealt with the Nichol’s family for years and loved them. (Miranda was still there, working the front desk, when I would bring my cars in). I always found them honest, kind, and knowledgable and I always felt a sort of brotherhood with them in their love for old Chevy pick-up trucks. I know these folks have had some challenges, like losing their mom who helped run the shop (heart disease I think). But they kept slugging it out, faithful to the daily grind, serving their customers, and never, ever wavering in their commitment to HONEST service. I’m in Texas now. I’m writing this review because I visited Denver recently and had a car problem that I wished I had gone to Nichol’s for (but made the mistake of taking it to a different mechanic - now I’m licking my wounds). I brought my 2014 Honda Accord, to redeem a GroupOn deal for an oil change. I had asked them to check everything on the car, because I wanted to make sure it was sound for an upcoming road trip. The car had been running funny, and my check engine light was one. They were more than happy to help me out. After checking everything out, it was discovered that it was my mass air flow sensor and an issue with my ABS.I plan on coming back to Nichols! I appreciate all the assistance that Nichols provided to make sure my car is ready for the long road trip.

I have a 93 Toyota Previa.. James and everyone there at Nichols Auto Repair went above and beyond their Call of Duty to help me making get my van fixed properly which had been fouled up by another mechanic shop! This is the 1st mechanic shop & mechanics I have been to or met that are honest in a very very long time & not out to rip you off..I highly recommend them to everyone!!!

James is an honest mechanic and his work is really good. Finishes work on time on a great majority of the times but the delays are due to parts being ordered. He allows clients to see the car when it is up in the air and explains repairs when he is asked. He is very open and helps put to make a wise decision on the needed repairs of your car without making you feel obligated to work with him after his opinion.

Was quoted $717 to fix 3 motor mounts... Took to shop.. He made me think i got a great deal because he replaced some radiator clamps for free.. The very next day had to stop at a different shop for same noises.. Was notified 2 or 3 mounts had been changed.. When i called to asked he admitted it and offered to beat anyones price to fix a mount i already paid for.. His name is james..definately has his good ol boy act down ..
