Normally I do my research, know exactly what is needed/desired and find the best place to fulfill. Not this time, I walked in, asked them to improve my P2000 and gave blind trust (not something that comes easy from someone who came from Chicago). They did a fantastic job and I couldnt be happier.
Couldnt have asked for a better experience at a gun shop. First time going in with lots of question and i got them all answered. Great staff, and will definitely be coming back for a future purchase.
While this gun shop wouldnt be very good for other parts of the country in free states they are very good for what we have in the Bay Area
Had an H&R Revolver like new. Cylinders wouldnt spin. Took it to 3 Gun shops who together had it for at least 6 weeks and couldnt fix it. Had almost given up. Bolsa said 4 weeks wait time due to amount of work they had. At exactly 4 week they called and it was working as good as new. Highly recommend these guys.
Great guys here. Very knowledgeable and know their way around a gun. Picked up a Glock at this shop and felt very welcomed and informed.
Amazing service! The biggest gunsmithing operation I have ever seen! Speedy service!
Just wanted to say thanks for helping me with the purchase. You both easily made the first handgun buying experience a stress free and highly informative process. I’m so happy my buddies recommended your shop to us. You guys definitely treat your customers like family!I just thought you should know that I’ll be sure to be back and ask always happy to support local small businesses like yours.
They fixed my problem with my lower quick that’s why I am writing this review. Good price on my repair on my lower thank you Bolsa Gunsmithing
First off, everyone was very pleasant to be around unlike most shops in California now a days. Very quick turnaround, they finished my sights in only a couple hours. Thank you very much
I’am brown in moment?
I had a very positive experience at this facility. I went to have some sights installed, and ended up purchasing a new firearm. All the associates there were very polite, and helpful. If youve had a bad experience, I suggest you go back. The staff was easier to communicate with than most gun stores in the area.
Awesome place and people. Prices are MSRP or lower. Knowledgeable, helpful staff.
Love this place. Especially helpful during the pandemic. Answered questions via Instagram. Great place!
Grabbed my UPS package, ran down about 10 minutes before closing & needed a .223 comp installed on my BCM 14.5 upper. They were cool and able to install it at a great price allowing me to pin & weld that night and shoot the next day! Thanks again.
Im glad I returned, thanks again!
Great staff. (John)sharing some good tips and advice.. not just take your money and get out, as some shops. great pricing also! Thanks!!
The best, great service and very professional.
This was the first gun I have bought a gun, I shopped around for a wile until Bolsa Gunsmithing was recommended to me by a friend of mine who shoots sporting clays with me. The employees where friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. I will definitely buy from them again.
Brought 2 pistols in to have night sights installed. Price is very fair and cheaper than most. Turnaround time if you have your sights is 1- 2 days which is excellent. Highly recommend their service and I will return to Bolsa Gunsmith to have any future work done.
To echo another reviewer. They may not be the cheapest for some services but all work they have done for me has been great. In many cases they have provided service in one day, 3 different sets of night sight installations. The time quote was for 1 week.
Great shotgun gunsmith. I brought my gun to get the stock fitted on Tuesday and it was ready to pick-up on Thursday. It is really hard to find a good shotgun gunsmith in Orange County that know hunting guns. They were knowledgeable and nice. Cost was $115 to cut and shape a new recoil pad. Only thing is I wish they had longer business hours for those people with regular 9 to 5 jobs.
I had to take my PX4 to 3 different places before Bolsa said they would be able to do it. I was told they could have it ready in a day and they did it in just a couple hours. Service was done with a smile too. Will definitely be back when I need them.
Left a rusty .22 revolver here and 2 1/2 weeks later got a call to pick up my nicely cleaned gun. Cost me $65. I dont know what the going rate is, but it seemed good to me considering the shape the gun was in. Also picked up a box of .22LR for $13. They also had a lot of guns for resale and the prices seemed about right.Everyone was really friendly and helpful. No one talked down to me and I appreciated that because it can be a drag to do male-dominated things when people dont treat you nicely. Highly recommended.
I cant say enough about these guys, trigger jobs, muzzle breaks 100% I am very particular on my stuff working at range, or longe range shooting taking game, I highly recommend taking your items to bolsa ...make sure you go early enough before any season starts or competitions, guys are very busy witch to me is a good thing !!
They did a good job cleaning my gun, but they charged me more than they said and they put a new scuff in my wood stock and they chipped the stock and said it was due to rust. They also didnt even whipe off the excess lubricatant. They do overcharge and under perform.
This is the ONLY Place in the Western US that is sanctioned by Beretta for service and repair work. They do as good as a job as the factory itself. Fred and the crew are great people.
Bolsa is the best.Guess that is why I keep going back to them for my purchases and after sale modifications.Great Staff and all around good people
Well, I was recommended to these folks for some S&W and 1911 parts... I spoke to them three times on the phone - first call (first thing in the morning) was good, seemed to know what I was talking about... and was going to call me back in an hour and tell me if they had what I needed.... so far so good.Second call, at the end of the day - following up. I havent had a chance to see if we have the parts yet.Third call was at the end of the following day - I dont think hes gotten around to doing that yet.So, they have my details & its been three days and they havent called back. They obviously dont need the business.
I have had several experiences, all good, including both repairs and purchases. One guys name I recall is Sam and he was excellent, but everyone Ive dealt with has been friendly enough for me; no hugs and kisses of course, but then I dont go to a gun shop for hugs and kisses ...
I own a first model 1951 Beretta I took the firing pin out and had trouble reassembling the upper portion which is held by 1 pin. I brought the upper to shop the guy over the counter told me it would be 45 dollars to re assemble the upper and it would be in less than 5mins? 45 dollars to help me put a pin back together no thank you took it to rifle gear and the smith gladly put it together for me for free. I have heard shady things from this place but this was my first experience in the shop.
Always had good luck and service from them.
I called this explaining that I needed a part made for a handgun and that the part could not be found on the internet or anywhere else. After the guy on the phone told me it would be no problem he could do it I drove down there. Once I arrived I was told that the part I needed to be made could not be ordered(hmm lets think about that one for a second) I left very disappointed. There goes half a tank of gas. Thanks Bolsa!!!
Probably the worst gunsmith you could ever go to. I had two experiences with them, the first one was a safety inspection on a bolt action rifle. Upon arrival to pick it up I was frustrated to see it covered in rust due to miss handling and lack of care on their part. My second experience was even worse, I showed up to Bolsa Gunsmithing to have a mid bead put on my Remington 1100 shotgun. I handed the shotgun over to the person who wrote me up, he then dropped my shotgun on the floor and made a joke that well at least it didnt fire. That should have been enough of a sign for me to leave, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and I allowed them to perform the mid bead installation. When I returned to the gun shop to pick up my shotgun, I was greeted with a mid bead that was crooked. I complained about the poor insulation and their fix was to take it to the back and file it so that it appeared to be centered. Later that day I went home to try to fix it myself because they were obviously incapable of performing any kind of gunsmithing repairs or installations. The mid bead was red Loctited in, and drilling it and retaping it adequately was not possible due to how sideways the hole was drilled and tapped. The end result was me having to purchase a new barrel for my shotgun.
Nice, capable people for wood-stocked, bolt-action stuff and revolvers. However, keep your scary lookin black guns away. Phone first and see if theyll work on your gun before making the trip and being disappointed.
Nice people and cheap.
I went to Bolsa gunsmith to see if they can help me out on my Savage 308. I wanted to tread it n put some muzzle break. The guy in the counter recommend for me to buy my own muzzle break it will save me alot of $ if I do.A week later I have everything readyCons : just kindda pricey on putting thread $150 other gun smith only charge $120PRO:convenient n close to my house
Ok...Ive been hiring their services for years now. I have always received professional service. Its not the cheapest, but the quality of work has always been top-notch. With that said, I recently brought in two shotguns, both worth quite a bit. They were in need of repair/refinishing to the wood. When I received them back today, I was mystified by the work. It was incredible. I simply dont know of another artist in this industry that has this skill level. Im still in a state of amazement by the quality of workmanship. And Im in the business, and hold an FFL myself.I can tell you these folks know what theyre doing in the gunsmithing world. I have referred A LOT of customers to them, despite being located a considerable distance away. I know this company to be reputable and good for their word. But go see them, dont just depend on a phone call. Go see them, and youll see what a real gunsmithing company is all about.
Got my Marlin 30-30 repaired on time and at the quoted price.
Had a lot of work do by these guy an it is always right Also keep an eye on the used rack for some great deals!!!
Ive been reading all the bad reviews but I have yet to have an issue. So far there are nice, reasonable, and the prices are fair sometimes good.
Bolsa Gunsmith carries the hard to find vintage parts.
IMO they are not gunsmiths, they are mechanics. Unless you have a gun that they represent they wont even look at it to see if it has a firing pen. Upon the recommendation of S&W I took in 3 semi-autos to have trigger adjustments. They ordered kits for all three and 3 weeks later (its always 3 weeks for anything) when I went to pick them up I ask to bring their trigger pull gauge out so I could see if there was any improvement. The clerk said they didnt have a trigger pull gauge. I thought maybe he misunderstood me so I ask again. He left and went in the back room, came back and said they didnt have a gauge. I said thats what they were supposed to fix on my S&Ws how could I check it. He said the guns were fix and here is the bill for several hundred dollars that I had to pay or I couldnt pick up the guns. My friend with me said pay it, he had a gauge we could use. Thats why I say they are just mechanics, not gunsmiths.Im an FFL and CA Firearms Dealer and I wont do business with them again.Don Ames
I recently bought a Ruger Mark III and screwed up reassembling it after cleaning. Took it to Bolsa and had John look at it. He fixed the problem in 2 minutes and then spent a couple of more minutes telling me what I had done wrong. Being new to owning and shooting guns, I wasnt sure what kind of experience I would have at a gunsmith shop, but these guys were very helpful and knew what they were talking about. If I have any more problems, Im returning here.
Called & no answer I live 2 far 2 go over there 4 nothing
AR already broken down, all I wanted was to break the barrel nut loose, said it was a 4 week wait, I then asked to purchase a ar gun block for the vise, rudely answered we have them but the gunsmiths are using them, well didnt I say purchase?,,
They have horrible customer service
Any problem you have with your weapons I recommend this place
