I have been coming to this store since around 1997. It has been the same proprietors who are very kind, knowledgeable, and understanding people. Discount on new trees if you return the pot. Best source for bonsai soil which is very useful when mixed with potting soil to increase drainage. Beautiful inventory of trees ranging in complexity of required care. A real treasure, worth the drive from any distance. Given the age of many of the trees and the with which they are cultivated, there is not a better value around.

This is my favorite place to get bonsai! Great selection and the owner is very helpful if you have questions about what kind of bonsai will grow best in your space.

This place is a real hidden gem. It was worth the drive. I got 1 bonsai, the lady that runs this place with her husband told me how to properly care for it and how old it was. I just felt so happy in that place it was so cute! Will be returning again!

Its a small place, looks like a residential home, but the owners are very helpful and knowledgeable! They have tons of great trees at different sizes and kinds.

I must have called at least 15 florists in the area and also went to Lowes and Home Depot. I finally came across Bonsai House. The selection was great and the owners were very nice and helpful. I ended up purchasing two trees instead of one -- and plan to return soon to buy a few more as gifts.

Such a nice little shop for bonsai trees and supplies, prices are very reasonable (their planters are very nice and a great value as well) and the owners were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful to us. I got two trees here recently as gifts. The owners were so kind and passionate about their trade. They had bonsai’s of all shapes, sizes and price ranges!

Tiny shop, but there are so many trees you can spend hours digging though the shelves. They also have nice pots that are reasonably priced, amongst other bonsai supplies. Owners are very nice and hilarious. Wish I could rate higher than 5 stars.

Owners are very helpful and nice. They had a plentiful selection being the winter season. Prices are good, you can find tiny gems here and good sized beauties. I will be returning when I want another tree.

Im in a wheelchair and visited the Bonsai house in Redford for the first time ever. I loved it and I will go back as much as I can. They have parking in the back where I left my wheelchair lift down and doors open on my van so no one would park next to me but if you have an assistant it should be okay. They do have a wheelchair ramp but you may need help Im going up and down and in and out of the house over the threshold. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about bonsais. Great selection of trees, pots and bonsai supplies that youd typically find only online. I find it extremely helpful to see them in person and get advice from the extremely knowledgeable, friendly owners. This is the only bonsai store within a several hour radius.

The lady who owns the place was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Right when I walked in I was greeted and asked what I needed help with. She then helped me pick out the right bonsai for a beginner and gave me tips on how to care for that specific tree. The whole process was enjoyable and I would highly recommend that you at least visit this wonderful business.

Extremely helpful and friendly! The owners are very knowledgeable about all the bonsai trees in their shop and give you plenty of information about the tree species you are purchasing and how to care for it. The price range is very wide, starting at 20 dollars. They also have a great return policy, where if you tree dies at any point, you can get a new tree of equal or less value at half price (as long as you bring in the dead tree and pot)!
