This is a great business. I recently had a watercolor that was damaged during shipping and Amparo brought it back to life. Not only did she repair the paint that was removed from the broken glass but she also was able to restore the paper bucking that occurred from improper storing. They were so very nice, honest, reasonably priced, timely, and most important experts in the field. I just reframed the piece and it looks like it just left the artists studio. It is now in perfect condition thanks to Amparo and her team. Keep up the great work and thanks again for all of your help.
As a professional conservator and restorer of paper I truely recommend SFLAC. The team members are an inspiration to me. Any time I have had any professional and technical doubts or issues, they have helped me sort them out brilliantly.
I am a Bay Area collector with many years of experience working with conservators and other art related service providers. I was in West Palm Beach managing the estate of my mother, including an important abstract painting from the 1930s that was being appraised for estate tax purposes. The appraiser needed me, in short order, to have a facet of the painting examined and recommended I reach out to SFLAC.Jeronimo Perez-Roca responded immediately, and shortly thereafter, I was meeting with him and his wife, Amparo. These are skilled conservators, comparable to the best in major cities. For almost an hour, they gave me an oral assessment of the painting, including their views on prior restorations. Jeronimo and Amparo work out of a studio near the Norton Museum, one of their clients. They are professional and friendly. I highly recommend their services.
South Florida Art Conservation was recommended by the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. I have an oil print on canvas by U.S. artist Lawrence Williams, that had been damaged during shipping. The work is a portrait of Warren Harding, who was U.S. President from 1921-1923. Jeronimo and Amparo are awesome people to do business with, but add value with great customer service, diligent/detailed follow-up, and by sharing knowledge about their craft. Highly recommended!
Very professional. Service friendly. Will definitely utilize their services as needed in the future.
I recently found an original signed “Popeye the sailor man” illustration. I then did some online research and found that the illustration had some value and figured that I should restore it, as the illustration was dirty and had a crease.Naturally, I did some more research online to find a place that could restore popeye to his former glory and that lead me to Amparo and Jeronimo at South Florida Art Conservation. I was pleasantly surprised by their attentiveness and the excellent customer service I received. I was super impressed by their small shop that was neat, clean, and organized the way you would expect an art conservation place to be. I was also impressed with their art reference library. To make a long story short I did not get my illustration restored by them, but only because of their excellent advice. In south Florida it is rare to find businesses that are willing to go the extra mile, offer you advice, and not focus entirely on making $$$. They may have not made a penny from me today, but I would not hesitate to take them any art restoration projects in the future.
They were very nice and do excellent restoration work. I always look forward to working with then.
