I moved into a new home and had little storage space. The Container Store designed four custom spaces, including an office, an open closet, a pantry, and storage/display shelves. The installation process was efficient and professional. Even the recycling and garbage were organized as he worked!I love the new spaces. My pantry is gorgeous and effective. The office is now one of my favorite spaces. I have room for so much more than I had before! The designers did a great job, too. I recommend the store.

What an awesome store! We absolutely love this place! They have so much of everything from the bathroom items, to custom closets, to kitchen ware. There is so many items to keep you organized.

Its almost overwhelming the amount of choices for storage options. But the store is organized extremely well by laundry, kitchen, closet, etc. so you can find what you are looking for easily. Getting in and out was a breeze.

Lots of options - higher prices than big chain stores, but better quality & unique options for every storage need.

We love this place. I get stuff for storage solutions in basement, garage, kitchen, closet, and office. They have stuff no other place has.

They allow dogs in their store!!! 😁👌😎👍 I was thrilled to bring my dog in this store. Not only did every employee come up, and petted my dog(with permission), but my dog got treats at check out!

I’m obsessed with my custom closets! They are amazing. My experience with the installation consultant was AMAZING. He was meticulous, treated my house as I imagine he would with his own, and talked to me throughout the installation process to ensure that I was getting everything I wanted. I highly recommend that if custom closets are anything you’ve been thinking about, take the leap and reclaim spaces in your home you thought were lost.

Prices were roughly matched with Amazon for the same quality

I shouldnt rate this place because I walked in with zero initiative to containerize the containers in my house. The store was filled with people (including my wife) that want everything in their home out of sight in a series of Russian nesting dolls. I fear I am out of style when it comes to squirrelling away all of my things into non-descript, tidy little boxes or using kits to rearrange all spaces within the home, but if thats your thing...hurry fast to this store, its a 6 star joint

Great closet just wished the installer would have cleaned up after himself and not placed the parts on my daughters bed which got got it dirty.

Not 1 of the several employees I passed even acknowledged me which is fine, but when they are welcoming and happy to help the families they see immediately after me. Pretty rude. And always double check their prices online even with their own store. Always marked up in store by mistake

It was not a bad experience. The store is very well organized, ironically! The staff is very friendly, and very hard working. Only reason four stars is due to $$. Some things are very overpriced. But overall I definitely would reccomend because a lot of items and options that would never knew wanted until you see it displayed.

I love this store!!! So many different things to see/buy. Cant possibly see them all in just a few visits. They are addictive.

The container and organization options are pretty good. The staff are pretty good also, but are pretty aggressive with their little rewards program at check out. My biggest complaint is that both times that we have been there, it has been hot and stuffy in the store. I dont expect the temperature that we keep at home, but I dont want to sweat my way through the store either. As it stands now, not sure if we will be back.

The store was good and organized. The staff was awful. I felt that they were always walking around in my view but never asked if I needed anything and was not kind while checking out. No customer service skills. Maybe because its Christmas shopping or something but I wont be returning. Rather shop online. Super disappointed.

Tried to schedule a closet consultation on 1/28 for a Laren custom closet. A week and a half later, nothing. Corporate said they were going to speak with the manager of the store and a director. No one bothered to call. When I called today, Brian sighed a lot then said I dont even know if she will be in today to be honest. Obviously I chose the wrong business for a custom closet, so Ill be looking elsewhere.

Great place for ideas to improve your home

Very nice store. I actually have gone to Target and looked at similar items and they were pretty much the same price. I will admit, SOME items at TCS were overpriced. But for the most part, its reasonably priced.This chain does a lot of good things. The opening weekend they donated 10% of all proceeds to a childrens charity. Some products are made from recycled wood and plastic.The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the isles are tight. I think they needed a larger building..

Been in there one time, reasonable pricing. The only thing I would say the employees follow you around and are needy. Not sure if it was because they first opened or if they are just extremely board, or they think we was going to steal something but it was a bad first impression. I gave it a 4 star cause of the reasonably priced items. I looked online and was impressed.

Great variety, however it lacks what I really needed. A big, all in one selection of containers. They are scattered throughout the large store, making it hard to find the appropriate container.I did find something though 😊 It was $100 and worth it. It is not the same particle board furniture that people over pay for at Target. The assembly was pretty straight forward, too. Overall, fair pricing, quality products, great selection, difficult layout.

Awesome place even if youre just going to look for ideas to help with organization. Plenty of options for pretty much any space you would need. The prices are a little higher than other places but its somewhat hit or miss.

The employees were very helpful and cheerful. It felt almost party like in a cheerful sort of way because the cheer every time someone signs up for emails. Items were well organized as you would expect and the store itself is very clean. I found exactly what I was looking for.

This place has everything! Their organization is separated by room, so if you need closet organization - theres a section for that. Bedroom organization - theres a section for that. Kitchen, office, basement, holiday, travel, trash/recycling? Theres something for every space you can think of. Definitely will be going back here after I do some spring cleaning. Whatever is left will be well-organized with The Container Stores help!! Im so glad Des Moines got this place. I bet they do very well. Cheers!

This store is a great addition to the Des Moines area. They have a container for just about anything, and for some things you wouldnt even think of until you go there. If youve never been here before, you should check it out. The only reason Im not giving it five stars is because it wasnt quite as large as I thought it was going to be and some of their merchandise is overpriced.

Container solutions for possible problems you may never have known you had

If you want to design a closet, DO NOT LET LUKE HELP YOU. Luke was the employee in the closet design area of the store the night I went in and I already had my plan in place; I just needed to ask some clarifying technical questions re: the best way to go about material selection and have him draw up the schematic.Elfa offers both a top track and a wall-mounted option for their standards, and doesnt really advertise online whether one is preferable to the other. I came in actually WANTING to do the top track option if possible, but having some reservations about its stability since the standards do not tack into the wall and since I didnt know what the predrilled holes would be able to offer in terms of spacing with the studs in my walls. I asked Luke which option he recommended, and he told me that he advised AGAINST the top track option for my design because he doubted that they would be able to sink into studs across the entire length, and wall-mounted standards offered a lot more stability. Since I assume that CS trains their employees to specific departments and he has been in closets the last 3 times Ive been in the store, I took his advice.I get a phone call the next day from Luke. He tells me that the installation team will not do the closet as designed, and that they instead want to go with the top track option...the same option that he himself told me was structurally unsound and inferior to the wall mounts. I asked for an explanation, and he said he didnt know why they came back with that information beyond they think its safer and they think the plaster will crack if they drill into it. Aside: no one on the installation team has seen my space or has any idea what the structure is like or what it is comprised of, so that was a red flag to me. I called Luke back later and once again tried to get some information that was FACT-based and experience-based. I asked him why he had specifically told me the OPPOSITE of what I was now being told, I asked about the experience level of the local installers and what their training is like, I asked why the concern about crumbling plaster--especially since to install a track they would still have to drill into the plaster--, and I asked why they felt like a top track would solve problems since they still didnt know what they were up against regarding stud spacing/the presence or absence of a header in the wall, etc. He told me that the installers only have 6 months of experience since that is how long the store has been open and that theyve never worked in older homes. He had no answer for why he gave me misinformation on my first visit to design the closet, and basically kept saying he didnt know but made zero effort to get additional information. I had also reached out to my contractor (who has 40+ years experience) and explained the situation, and he said it sounds like they just dont want to work hard (since the wall-mounted standards require a lot more accuracy to hang). ALL I WANTED was for someone who could give me a REASON, but all talking to Luke was doing was making me have serious reservations about the ability level of the people who were scheduled to make big holes in my walls in 2 days.After a days worth of info-gathering: turns out Luke had actually MADE UP the answers to my questions. He apparently complained to his GM that I wouldnt listen when he tried to explain. Last I checked, making up answers to customer questions/flat-out refusing to help find compromises or solutions/treating customers like they are idiots because of your OWN ineptitude...? NONE of that constitutes an explanation. I did not raise my voice, I did not interrupt...I asked him time and time again for REAL ANSWERS and his response was either to lie, make something up that turned out to be totally erroneous, or to just say I dunno and refuse to go find anyone who DID know.Extremely inexperienced and careless staff.
