Initially I was very impressed with my salesman and the staff. I was forthcoming with all the facts of my work history including the fact that I had been out of work since October 2020 until March 2020 and that I had a pending work contract with the federal govt. I paid a deposit and the mortgage company, Vanderbilt, a rep named Daniel dragged his feet for 3 months. My salesman left the Waynesville location and no one bothered to tell me.I called Clayton and Vanderbilt weekly trying to get information on closing. Which I was assured would take place. After more calls, emails, and discussions than I can count, I was finally advised by Vanderbilt that due to my over 6 month job lapse, I didnt qualify.Honestly after this experience, and the way in which the staff at Vanderbilt treated me like I was a mere annoyance, Im glad the sale did not go through. This is not the type of organization I want to do business with. And the sales people should know that a gap of more than six months in your employment history is an automatic NO. Essentially Vanderbilt wasted my time and the dealership has uninformed sales people selling trailers, who dont know the most basic of rules.I will say that after 3 months and being notified we did not qualify, my deposit was promptly refunded.I would advise ppl shop around and seek their own financing before engaging Vanderbilt mortgage company.

Austin was Great. Answered all of our questions and took the time to explain the process from start to finish.Definitely give them a call if you plan on buying a new home. Many models on property to view.

Austin is an excellent salesman. He held my hand from start to finish with my moms home. It was a long process, the virus didn’t help, of course, but it went very smoothly. We were excited after our initial discussion with a salesman. However, after finding land we needed to ask more questions. We left several messages, and still have not received a call back. Sadly, that plot of land is gone. We were motivated and prepared to get the ball rolling. Presently, Im not comfortable moving ahead with this company.

Nothing really wrong, just wished for a larger selection of 4 bedroom homes. Staff was courteous and helpful.

Not even sure I would give them one star. We purchased a house from them almost 3 years ago. I should have known the experience was going to be bad when they told us an approximate move in date, and 3 months after said date we were finally able to move into our new home. After we had lived there about a month, they called to tell us that they Forgot to hook up the hood over the stove and they needed to return. Just recently we were having mouse problems, and we have our property sprayed every 3 months. Come to find out, there was a huge hole left under the stove, which mice were using as their entrance. And now, to really put the icing on the cake, bad wind storm yesterday and shingles were blown off my roof. My grandpa and cousin went up on the roof today to inspect the damage and to our surprise-- 1) the correct nails werent even used to place the shingles, and 2) no felt was placed on the roof before the shingles.These homes are something people invest a lot of time and money into, heck it is something you pay for several years of your life. They should not come with this many problems, especially not even being 3 years old.Not satisfied at all and I still stand by my decision NOT to refer anyone to Clayton Homes.

Clayton homes of Waynesville has a large collection of Double wide and SingleWide homes. You can also get Modular and Off Frame Modular units.The process is not fast but the end result is a Beautiful Home, well built and priced reasonably. We expect to be in our Clayton Renagade 48A in about 2 months. The staff are very friendly and can help you find the best home to put on your lot or one of theirs.

Were able to get a lot of good information there. And now we know the next steps that we have to take.

Stopped by to look at houses. All the doors were locked, lots of cars in parking lot, not one person came out to see if they could show us a home.

They keep saying sorry for us getting lost in the shuffle.Waiting on finishing repairs still.No return calls on messages and just overall dissatisfied in our purchase. Even though it was a dream come true, it became a nightmare.
