Lots of bike choices at this store!

The Waxahachie Academy seems poorly managed. I had one simple return to make at 11 am. Receipt in hand. The guy at the entrance tagged my bag and then I got in line at the customer service counter. The sales associate there promptly told me if I had a return to get in the check out line. I turn around and there is only one lane open with 8 people waiting to check out. I asked if I could return it with her and she said no. Two sales associates standing at front entrance, two customer service associates handling one customer but only one check out lane for all those people including any returns. There has to be a more efficient way of doing business here.

Went looking for comfortable walking shoes. Gloria Cruz in shoe department was totally awesome in helping me. Professional, calm 😂 and so so helpfulI can’t give her enough accolades. Beyond reproach!!!

Tried to purchase a gun from here background is clean the whole process goes threw then at the end they always give us a reason why they cannot sell the gun to my husband very unprofessional nobody should be treated like this

Floor staff are nice, store is clean, bathroom is good but good lord no I dont want an Academy card. Stop pushing it.

Let our knowledged and experienced staff assist you in bla bla bla(every Dealer ever)... I just started archery and Im in the Outdoors department telling one guy behind the counter and one on my side what string stops are? ...Really?

The woman in the shoe department was very helpful. She located the size shoe we were looking for and was very friendly. The cashier was friendly and had a wonderful smile. We found just what we were looking for.

Always my go to store for purchasing firearms and most outdoor gear. Havent had a bad experience yet.

Great place. They always have decent prices. My only critique is that they need to expand on their plus size sport wear. Plus size women get 1 rack to choose from. Just 1 rack out of an entire department. Its rather sad. Otherwise, Great place.

I arrived before 7:40pm today, Checked in online and Waited curbside for my order. I waited at least 15min before I called. Called store, woman picked up and immediately put me on hold, I waited on hold another 10 min.Finally went inside store at 8:00, there was 1 customer in line in front of me. 2 other cashiers were open with about 2 customers in each line. Linda, the “team lead” took my order # and processed it. I asked about the wait at curbside. She stated that they were busy and understaffed. I told her to communicate that over the phone instead of having me wait out there for almost 30 min and her response was “that’s what hold means”. Linda had a very BAD attitude and wanted to argue over the lack of communication. During my time in the store I saw at least 10 different employees. 2-3 employees at the registers, and the others were walking around & 1 greeter at the doorEven after coming in for my order, I still ended up waiting another 10 min just for them to bring the order up to the front. What’s the point of online order of the order isnt ready?Finally at almost 8:15pm Carlos brought & carried my bike quickly to my car. ( He was friendly!)7:35 pm arrived.Left with bike: 8:15pm.I was there 45 min to pick up an already paid for, supposedly “ready” order!!There was a car that pulled up next to us curbside and waited and called and ended up driving away.In this day and age, instead of keeping up with the times and competition, Academy in Waxahachie you have failed to provide good customer service and keep up with the competition. Target would never!

This place is awesome. In CA, the shelves are bare and what is left is over priced. Here in TX, shelves are full and they even have ammo.

Academy Sports is my all time favorite sports store. I mean they have everything from A to Z in anything sports. They also have the best name brands. Do you want to know the best thing about Academy? Its that they have great prices and there always having sales.

One of the worst experiences Ive ever had at Academy. Bunch of young kids working the registers, not taking people in order, walking away from registers. One guy Saif he couldnt take my cash because he had not counted his register yet, then I heard him complaining that he needed relief. No adults or managers in site. Waited over 25 minutes, and we were second in line.

Went into the store at 8:30 pm, asked the lady at customer service if anyone could help me find the pair of waders. She called out over the phone what I had looked like & told me someone would be right there. Stood in the isle for 15 minutes... no one showed up.An employee walks by, I asked if they were there to help me and told me no they would look for the person. Stood waiting another 15 minutes, so I decided to walk back to customer service. She says “they haven’t been there to help you?” I said no, and all she said was “ sorry bout that” and turned around continuing with what she was doing.Terrible customer service. There were plenty of employees in the store to help me.

(ammo shortage).Would be nice if there was better way to get information about when trucks are coming with potential ammo inventories than wasting gas to randomly come to academy for a dry run.Get ready for ammo.com, luckygunner.com, and others to take that business away from you. Because its happening.

Lately Ive been going to Academy more than in the past. This is to my advantage! On a trip to return a Christmas present, I found a boat that I was looking at at another famous sporting goods store, but at a substantial savings ! I wound up buying the boat at Academy when I researched and found it was the exact same boat. Needless to say, I was very pleased ! Not to mention the sales staff, in particular, the manager at the time, Cheyenne Bell, was very very helpful and pleasant! She made my buying experience very satisfying and enjoyable! Ive never had this good of an experience at almost no retail dealer, to the best of my knowledge! Kudos to Academy for having such great sales people and managers that are willing to get the job done right ! I wholly recommend this particular Academy in Waxahachie to anybody that needs to be reminded that there are still people who care !

I gave them a 3 most of the time the staff is super amazing and helpful, except for one individual that is a older woman who most of the time works in the back return part. Idc what day u get her on, its a bad day I guess. Also the pricing is insane... Good luck getting something that comes up the price it says because its either in the wrong spot, wont show up in the computer or always something unfortunately.

I had been wanting a Speed bag to work on my Cardio. There was a young lady by the name of Kaitlyn that was so very knowledgeable and helpful. She explained everything to me and helped me pick out all that I needed. This was and felt so great time because it was something that I had no clue on..

Had a advertisement posted in the store for a 15ft trampoline for $179 And tried to charge us $259. Told the young lady assisting us at the checkout and she called the manager and he said they would not honor it. Thought if the price was posted they had to honor it. Will not be shopping at Academy anymore.

Terrible customer service this is the second time I’ve waited over an hour for a pick up order that’s supposed to be ready already every time I’ve gone in there the employees will carry on a conversation with each right there in front of you about what is going on in their person lives and take forever to assist you. Absolutely hate the academy in waxahachie. I would give no stars if I could.

Please update your inventory online. Drove almost 1 hr because online shows you have the item im looking for and i get there and just so they can tell me no they dont have it. Drove home and item still shows online that they have it in stock.

I went looking for a treadmill and they didnt have many to choose from. I can always find something to buy.

They did not have a good selection on volleyball stuff but everything else was priced well.

Went for a curbside pickup and waited 15+ minutes after checking in from email and nobody came out. Out of all their competitors when it comes to curbside, Academy is the worst. They’re slower than Walmart’s curbside system and that says something, and at least Walmart associates come out to do their job. I went inside to do the pickup in store, customer service was terrible. Highly recommend not doing curbside pickup there. You might as well get your items shipped to your house, or better yet not shop there.

The Waxahachie store is great! I shop here often. They have great selection of RV stuff, western clothing, boots, gifty-gifts, hardware, farm and ranch, unique snacks and sodas. Good, friendly service.

Store has a lot of items, but limited stock. Golf area wasnt really adequate, except golf balls. The store inventory will do in a pinch.

This was my first and only time to visit. Couldnt get anyone to help me find what I needed.After looking for over 30 minutes, became frustrated and left. Amazon will deliver what I wanted by this afternoon. Much easier and no hassle.

So I ordered a patio set on line and WASNT told they didnt have any in stock so two hours later when I went to pick it up thats when I was told after they done took it out of my account and NOW Ive to wait seven business days for my money to be back into my account. Why wasnt this addressed to me at the time of order.

I needed to do a refund for a couple of pairs of shoes that i purchased for family members ; shoes didnt fit.The refund was done for me with no issues and i ws out of there in a snap with my gift card to buy some more great merchandise at this exciting store. I am like a kid in a candy store when shopping @ Academy! Thanks guys for your great customer service and quick, efficient check outs. Im in and out in a dash . I will definitely be a return customer and tell others of my glorious interactions with your company and its people. Thanks again.

Great store, clean, most staff is good, but see alot of them just standing around talking :(....cashiers are ALWAYS friendly..only 1 experience with a very unprofessional older lady customer service rep back in Dec 2020...

This has always been my go to store up until today. Unfortunately I will not be able to return to this store after being told rudely from an employee that masks are not required in your facility as he laughed and walked away. I was not asking to be rude i just was not aware that this was ok seeing as it is a state wide mandate! There were tons of customers walking around without a mask or worry in the world. This happened 12.6 21 at 4:50 pm. It is extremely sad that for a few dollars your store chooses to let ppl walk around freely as if thousands of ppl were not at risk by this happening. A small mask can go a huge way ! Again I wS not asking to complain I just needed to know if this was one of the places to whom which my family and I should not return to ! This is really unfortunate 😕 because my family has always enjoyed this store !

I ordered something online and went for pickup. Was dealt with unprofessionally at pick up. When I got it home I realized important pieces were missing. I gave them a call and they told me just to bring it back. Again, an unprofessional demeanor was used on the call. When I brought it back, I had the order information printed out and I was told that I needed the email confirmation regarding pick-up to switch my item. After searching through my email for 30 minutes, we established that I never received a confirmation. Eventually, reluctantly they allowed me to switch my $5.99 item. Again, the associate was unprofessional and shared no empathy for my plight.

Purchased my first rifle. The vetting process was appropriate for purchasing this. Brent was exceptionally helpful and was generous in sharing information to help answer my questions. I will definitely do more business with Academy Sports after this 5 star experience.

It was a pretty cool experience. This location was out of stock on a bunch of things. Will have to go to another store or maybe a competitor, but I like Academy. I wish they would up their game.

Great selection of small arms ammo.Update: USED to be.Store is still clean, but is now badly managed, poorly staffed (apparently, where its needed; because it looks full, but when some particular type of employee is needed, there always only seems to be one of them.)Inventory is shoddy at best, hunting and fishing doesnt even answer the phone, and management is rude when you call them out on it.This is no longer my store of choice. Last week I drove to Arlington to purchase something Id been chasing the Waxhat store around for months. It wont happen again, and I have no problem defaulting to Mansfield on their buggy website.

I received superb service from the Academy Sports and Outdoors in Waxahachie, TX. I ordered my treadmill for curbside pickup. PJ, Jordan and the young lady in customer service were super nice. The process for pickup was smooth and quick. I was concerned about the box fitting in my SUV and riding with my three daughters. However, the gentlemen were very considerate with the placement of the box to ensure my girls were able to ride safe.
