Incredibly friendly and helpful staff! Every time Ive visited the people there have given good advice and pointed me in the right direction.

Last Friday I stopped in to get some stain and polyurethane. There was a man named Kris working at the paint department. He helped me and answered all my questions. He was so awesome. It reminded me of the good old Ace Hardware days. He really was a Helpful Hardware man!

Just got a new lawnmover, they have some friendly employees and also very helpful. Their selections is pretty good, Considering we are almost out season they have good mix of inventory.

We were having a grill delivered to my home that we ordered online, and Kris was a joy to deal with! His customer service was stellar, very helpful and informative. If anyone in management is seeing this, just know you have a wonderful gem on staff! Thank you for everything, Kris!! We will continue to be loyal customers!

Was very happy with my experience. I came in looking for a few items and an employee named Danny was very helpful and very knowledgeable. I told him what I was looking for and not only did he help me with getting the items he also recommended additional/different hardware which made what I was doing much easier and cleaner looking. I will definitely be coming back here when I have more projects to work on and hopefully Danny will be there to make my life easier!

Rude staff, customers are not much better. Was looking for a particular item which wasnt on the shelf, asked an employee if they might happen to know if it was elsewhere in the store, possibly a wing stack or when they might be an expecting a delivery. The employee rolled their eyes and walked away.Wont be wasting time and or money at this location again

I went to Ace Hardware in Waukegan with my daughter. I had called first to ask about exchanging a plant (shrub) I received for a gift. I live in a townhouse subdivision and we cant plant bushes or shrubs. Anyway, she was very understanding and told me to bring it in and ask for her. Her name is Riley. When we arrived there was an employee who was outside helping out customers. I explained why I was there (still in my car) and he told me to park the car. As I did he came around and brought me a cart to put the plant in. My daughter and I selected 5 hanging plants in exchange for the shrub and went inside I asked for her, and sure enough she waved to me to go to her register. The exchange was pretty much even and the entire time Riley was very nice and professional. So bottom line is my experience was great and I will be returning there very soon.

Horrible store, half the employees are rude and care nonetheless about helping. Female manager is rude and treats customers and employees together very horrible. Verbally and back in April I witness her exploded on a female cashier and throw stuff on the floor and made her pick it up in front of customers. Manager should be removed from position.Do NOT recommend this store!

Recently I shopped at the Olsen Ace Hardware in downtown Waukegan. The employees were friendly, professional and very helpful! The manager, Chris, was very kind and took the time to answer all my questions. And when I was unable to make a trip to the store the other day due to a sprained ankle, Ace Hardware kindly delivered a fluorescent lightbulb I desperately needed to my home! I will always choose this store as my number one hardware store. 😀

I love to go to Ace Hardware in Waukegan for the simple convenience of how close it is. When items are on sale that is great for business and for customers wallets. I have been a member of the Ace Hardware club for over 20 years the Waukegan store is a perfect example as to why. They have the most amazing customer service as well as the ability to provide whatever it is I need when I need it. I highly recommend this store as well as the Round Lake facility.

Most of the staff is rude. They will have an item in store but be too lazy to go to the warehouse to pick it, tell you to order it online, you do so and they STILL won’t pick it and tell you to come back another day despite the site saying it’s available TODAY. Avoid at all costs. They were the most expensive to purchase from but I was ordering here due to convenience which was clearly a fail

We needed help replacing out sump pump, and were clueless as to what to do. Dave at Ace helped my husband, and I even past closing explaining which sump pump we needed, etc. And even told us his hours in case we had problems later on. My husband came back on a different day for an unrelated need, and Dave was there, recognized my husband from weeks prior and helped him again. Gave 4 stars out of 5 because weve been having a lawn mower issue that hasnt gotten resolved but they have tried to resolve it on multiple occasion.

They only hire young girls to work on the registers. And they always have attitudes on their faces with other woman. When it comes to men it’s like they just saw Jesus. People notice things like this and for this reason won’t return.

I shop at this Ace Hardware store frequently for all sorts of things. No place has everything but this store has so much to offer it is worth shopping. They have a big service department counter at the rear of the store and some very experienced employees there. They repair all sorts of gas powered yard and gardening equipment. They will take your old gas powered yard and garden equipment as a trade-in on new purchases, thats a very nice thing, right? Window screen repair, LED signs, rentals, refill propane bottles on-site, seasonal decorations galore, itty-bitty shopping carts for itty-bitty customers, etc. It is a very rare day when I visit and cant get what I need. I read a very poor review about this store and all I can say is if you want expert help the minute you walk in the door, then dont waste time and ask for Kathy or Chris; theyve been there for a long time and they are exceptional!! Thats why we write these reviews, so we can help each other find the good places. This is one of the good places for sure; this is actually one of the great places. Military discount, too!!!!!!!

This is one of the BEST hardware stores I have ever been too. They have a full selection of things you dont find at many other neighborhood hardware stores in the Northern suburbs, including odd hand tools, garden tools, work wear, and housewares. I came to this store looking for a replacement 3mm Eklind hex wrench. They had one -- none of the 5-6 other stores I had called or visited had it. While I was a little surprised that no employee asked me if I needed assistance, it didnt really detract from my experience. Bottom line: While the service at the Zion Ace is tops, the selection here is unbeatable.

Extraordinary service. I had a problem with my roof rack. The assistant manager grabbed tools, met me in the parking lot, figured it out and solved my problem. I guess I AM in Kansas. This is the place!
