Not good, I went in for a water pump that needed to be replaced, turned out the whole engine needed to be replaced and I went back in the shop more then 8 times to get it resolved. Had to get the general manager involved and he replaced the coils to stop the engine from miss firing and guess what, its still not done. Cherry on top is the receptionist who handled the billing and invoice forged my signature on some documents and and I didnt sign nothing. I called the general manager AGAIN and no answer so, Im gonna get my problem solve somewhere else and not pay any more money . At this point its a matter of principle. And if someone else wanna have a conversation with me about that, you guys got my info .

Got there first thing Saturday morning, and I was out of there within one hour! Replaced my muffler, and got an oil change on my 1999 Rav4. These guys are knowledgable and fast! Been coming here for over 15 years! Never a problem/complaint!

Good deal fast service

First time doing business was good. Second time around I needed a different repair and was given a quote over the phone. I was specifically told that it would not change even after asking for a written estimate. Received a call the next day and they tried to upcharge me 125% over the original quote. When I went in I told the front desk person that I wouldnt do business with them again if they changed the original quote and he said ok. Complete waste of my time and wouldnt recommend this shop at all.

Outstanding work I myself am a ase certified auto tech sometimes as an automotive technician on your own vehicle youd rather pay for the convenience and thats exactly what I got convenience at a decent rate and good quality work these guys are honestand in this day and age thats enough

Cheap muffler, needs to be replaced annually... They say its lifetime warranty, but will charge you labor for it. So if you want to get a new muffler every year then go to this place.

Ive been taking my car for repairs and oil changes to this shop for the past 10 years and I have never been disappointed. Good work fair prices. They are always busy so if you are planning to wait for your car to be repaired go there with ample time because there will be several cars ahead of yours.

Came in 1.5hrs before they closed. I thought they werent gonna get to my car at all but my exhaust leak was fixed and i was in n out of there within 15min.

Was quoted $320 over the phone. $714 in person. Wasted 2 1/2 hours.I called and spoke to a man ~ 8:02AM 8/3 (Saturday). I asked him how much for new brake pads and rotors all the way around. He said $320 but they need to look to make sure that is what I need. I told them that I need all of it done. $320? I said. Yes. $320.So, I drove there. Dropped it off ~ 8:30AM as promised. We will call you in 45 minutes to let you know how much. You quoted $320 for everything right? Yes.I walk 10 minutes away to a Dunkin Donuts. 1 hour and 15 minutes later I call them because they did not call me. $714. You quoted me $320. No. We will not do that. You just wasted 2 1/2 hours of my time. Please pull the vehicle out so I can pick it up and leave.I walk 10 minutes back and then wait 20 minutes for the vehicle to be taken down. I finally got home ~ 11:30AM. 3 1/2 hours wasted.Sigh. They did good work for me years ago at a fair price. Now, they are just another SCAMMING AUTO CARE SHOP. SIGH!!!

Great experience, customer service is their best product. I went to have an exhaust installed on my car and they did an outstanding job. They told me the price before working on it and they even gave me a military discount. Definitely a great location with friendly and knowledgable staff, you will be my first stop if I ever need any more work done.

Not happy with them anymore. Quality has gone down. $180 to put a header on and then it has a slight leak where it connects to the exhaust pipe. They tell me oh, your pipe is too big. Then why didnt you tell me that when it was in here? They put liquid gasket around it hoping it wouldnt leak. Then their like well heres a new coupler we can put on for 90 but wed have to cut your header. Really?!?! Are you guys new at this?!

Fixed my car quick and efficiently.

Always had good service until today. Called yesterday and they said to be here at 7:00. I got here at 7:10 and they said that it would be 1 hr 1/2 wait to get looked at. 2 hours pass and finally they pull in. I am fine with waiting my turn but people were coming in and they were being serviced before me. I definitely feel like I am discriminated because I am white and not Hispanic. That is not the end of it. The guys shows me why I need it replaced. I said ok. Another guy pulls me over to look at it 10 mins later and shows me the same thing. The guy appears to have it half done and stops with the rest of the guys to eat. I can clearly see them eating and laughing. I can understand if it was busy in the morning and it was lunch time but it is only 10:00. I will not be returning. The other service on grand is just as bad. It took one time 3 hrs for an old change. What it was the guy didn’t show up. If that was the case tell us so we have the option. Don’t pretend that you are working on it.

They fixed my brakes and rotors then my power steering pump and bearing when i took my car there was no loud noises from power steering. I keep taking it back and they keep telling me nothing is wrong. Finally i went with the driver for the test ride and now they agreed its the power steering. Im very disappointed on the services and communication and keep telling me nothing was wrong with my car

I work down street from this place n took my car 1995 pontiac bonneville n they turned my service down because they couldnt use scan code to figure out whats wrong with my car. The problem is catalytic converter . i have brought several cars here and they only fix easy things.

I needed to have parts of my Lexuss Y exhaust pipe replaced. This would have cost about 2 grand at a lexus because they would have had to replace the catalytic converter as well. I walked in to Velasquez and they were able to just replace the rusted-through parts of the pipe for less than 1/10 the cost of Lexus solution. I was in and out within an hour, they were friendly, and you just cant argue the price. I will definitely return should I have other issues with my vehicle.

I got there 55 minutes before they close. They took my car and had it on the lift. Then 20 minutes later instead of starting to work on my car they told me that they can’t do anything because they’re about to close. Maybe if they started working on it they’ll be half way done already instead of wasting my time and putting my car on the lift and NOT doing anything. I will never go back here.

The work they did on my sons car was good but very expensive. I need some more done on my sons car the qouted me over $400.00 i decided to take it somewhere else and for all the work it needs they ate charging me $200.00i wish i wouldve taken it to the other guy first i paid Velasquez about $1,600.00 when this other shop wouldve charged me $800 for the same work i wont go back to Velasquez.

They have been working on my vehicles for many years without any issues. They have very trustworthy mechanics.

I was initially happy with my first visit. They fixed my muffler and called me when the cost was going to be lower and prior to doing the work. I went back to them after my car broke down. My car was towed to them on Saturday and they werent able to work on it until that following Tuesday (Christmas weekend). I told them I didnt know what was wrong with it (obviously). I was told they would run an advanced diagnostic to see. I got the call saying it was the actuator in the intake and exhaust, its a 3hr job and labor was $400 ($370 and change). I didnt like it but I said ok (obvisiouly, I had no choice). When I got my car back, it still wasnt right so I had someone take it back to them. The comment that was made was this Well, I told her that it might not work 😡 Without going into FULL detail, who pays $400 for something that MIGHT work. When the car went back up there and they said it was a different problem ($300) and less than 8hrs later. My first visit = GREAT. My second = Not HARDLY. There will not be a third.

IF YOU DONT KNOW WHERE TO TAKE YOUR VEHICLE WHEN YOU NEED A PLACE THAT IS HONEST AND TRUSTWORTY, GO TO VELASQUEZ AUTO REPAIR IN WAUKEGAN.This is my first time ever writing a review. Ive wanted to for various business but never got to it. After going to Velasquez Auto Repair in Waukegan, I knew that I couldnt forget about writing this review. I honestly dont know how things would have turned out if I went to another repair shop and hate to even think about it.I havent had to take my van to a repair shop because I was fortunate enough to have a friend who did all the maintenance needed. When my friend retired, I had to find a repair shop and didnt know where to go. In these days, its really hard to find mechanics/businesses that you can trust. Being a woman and not knowing anything about vehicle repairs, I was really at a loss as where to go. The reason I went to Velasquez was because about nine months ago I needed a catalytic converter and someone recommended them so I took my van there. I was very pleased with their service, they fixed what had to be fixed and didnt try to make it seem like other things needed repair. The price was affordable and I was on my way. I had no problems so I was very pleased with them.Well, about three weeks ago my van started really having problems and again I didnt know where to go. Luckily, I remembered that I had a good experience and a good feeling about Velasquez, so I took my van there. I am so glad I did! My van had major problems and they helped me through a very rough time. They checked out various things that could have been the problem. When they found the problem, the manager, Evie, explained to me so I could understand what was wrong and what they needed to do to fix it. I felt confident after talking to her that they knew for sure what the problem was and they knew what they were doing. Evie told me how long it would take and they were very close to the time she told me. I have my van back and am very happy with the whole experience with Velasquez Auto Repair. My van is a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country and it now sounds and runs like a new van. If and when I need anything done on my van, I will be returning to Velasquez. Thank you for your honesty, understanding and customer service.An extra note: I had to pick up my van when it was done. I didnt have anyone to take me to pick it up, so Evie offered to come to my house and pick me up and bring me to the shop. As we talked on the way to the shop, I found out that Velasquez Auto Repair has more than an honest business, they have another asset. They have the manager, Evie. Just in talking to her, I could tell she is a very compassionate, good hearted, has a conscience and is kind. She has the qualities that most businesses are missing. She helped make would could have been a devastating situation for me, a workable and almost painless situation.

NOTE: This is for Velasquezs E Grand Location.I thought I would never write a review in my life let alone a bad one but this goes to show the absolute disgust I have with the service given here. I will start by saying if I could give 0 stars I would. Velasquez serviced my car to get a simple oil change everything went fine for quite some time until the car stopped starting. Come to find out Velasquez had put the wrong oil filter in the car and it caused some damage all around. When confronted with the problem the mechanic scoffed and stated he has been doing this forever and that the oil filter he put in is a universal for japanese vehicles. When we took a look at the itinerary we were given by them they wrote down our Vehicle was a 6 cycl when it is clearly a 4-cycl. We also contacted Toyota and they confirmed that the part he used for my vehicle was incorrect. (Theres a .3 inch difference). When given this information the arrogance and ignorance ensued as this gentleman stated What would they (Toyota) know, this isnt a Toyota part. Seeing as this gentleman is clearly a A Know-Nothing Know-It-All and seems to clearly have built the car himself and since he refused to help and do anything for us so they will not being hearing the last from us.So if you dont like being violated without being asked on a date first, I would advise you not to take your money to Velasquez in any state.
