This cafe doesnt look like much but in a city where every meal can end up costing you $20, this place is a welcome alternative. They make delicious and affordable sandwiches. The staff is polite and helpful. I love stopping by on my way home from work. I wish every neighborhood in DC had a good, cheap sandwich place like this. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to take a break from busy work life. They have a huge selection of different kinds of food at the hot bar and the best salad bar in the area. They also have a huge selection of wine and liquor. Best one stop shop in town. I highly recommend this place.

My review is towards the service, and not the food:I frequent this place for lunch about once a week, usually for the salad bar. Since the grilled chicken at the salad bar is pretty cold, Ill request the kitchen to grill some chopped chicken to throw on top of my salad. I strolled in today and made my usual request, only to be told by one of the women working in the kitchen that I need to make sure to pay for the chicken on my salad. When I responded with sure, of course, she eyeballed me and said you left last time without paying for the chicken, you cannot do that and have to pay [insert angry tone/mocking look]. SERIOUSLY?! I honestly cannot believe she ACCUSED me of stealing?I told her I had paid every single time, and had no intention of stealing from this shop. No apology from her, whatsoever.I have never seen this kind of treatment before- heck if she wanted to confirm if Ive been paying every time I came there, she could easily just talk to the guy at the register. I have never been this humiliated and angry before. I will NEVER come to this place again, and will be sure to let EVERYONE within my office know about this treatment.(P.S- I wish I could give this place 0 stars!)

Great place to eat in DC! I come here every now and then with my coworkers n friends, and we love this place! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so it’s a nice go-to place anytime of the day. Would definitely recommend eating/picking up food from here!

I love this place! The hot bar has really yummy food with a great selection. You can also order made to order sandwiches either cold sandwiches or grilled. They have a salad bar with a great selection as well. My favorite is the hot bar though and I have had some great macaroni and cheese from there as well as delicious green beans and Chinese style noodles. The people that cook there are super nice but the cashier can be a little bit crabby. Maybe its just because it was a busy time. I will go back anytime Im in DC.

They literally have everything - alcohol, hot bar, hot/cold sandwiches, ice cream, coffee... I ordered a steak quesadilla and an Italian sub and it was really yummy. Super quick and friendly service!

Buffet is reasonable priced with decent food options. However, Id recommend their made to order sandwiches. Staff is very friendly and takes recommendations on different items to carry.

The spicy pork is AMAZING. One of the best I had. Service overall was great, clean place and although there was a line it was worth the wait. Will be back without a doubt.

This is quite the deluxe convenience store! Theyve really got it all, from a soup and salad bar, to a sandwich deli, and an array of snacks. They also have an ample supply of those hummus and pretzel snacks I love. Plus, the staff is very friendly.

Its on the ground floor of my companys DC office building. So it has convenience going for it. The food & hot bar is about what youd expect at a corner store / cafe. Not disgusting, but not exciting at all.

The Orange Spoon is hit or miss for me. The deli/sandwich counter is the fav section. The daily lunch sandwich special is the best deal. It includes a sandwich with fries and a small soda for $8 or $9.The self-serve salad and hot bars are my least favorite and can get mad expensive. The hot items never seem to be truly temperature hot, although the bar is cover in steam. For me the salad bar isnt too appetizing.Lastly, the liquor section is a hidden gem with a great section of whiskey and vodka. If you look hard enough, you can find a deal too.Plenty of seating... Can be rather crowded during the workday lunchtimes.

I ordered K2 off their menu. It was beef Bulgogi served with rice, kimchi, and a small salad. The food was very good, served quickly, and at a reasonable price

I brought watermelon and paid close to $5 for it. Just to open it and it taste bad and a little slimy. I asked for a refund or to switch the fruit and the Korean lady told me No. I come here almost every morning. And give you guys all my money just to be treated like this. This is very upsetting and I will not be spending my money here anymore.

I work very close to Orange Spoon, and I pop in from time to time to get something to eat. Today, I called in an order for a tuna sandwich (Ive done this before) as I needed to grab something to eat before heading to Rockville for class.For starters, I called the order in and explained that I wanted the tuna sandwich. The woman on the phone asked if lettuce and tomatoes were fine, and I said yes. She then hung up the phone. No bye, no thank you, no letting me know how long my sandwich would take. Rude.So I walk down to get my sandwich 10-15 mins later, and I pay for my food and my sandwhich hasnt even been made. This is around 5:30, and theres maybe 3 customers in the store including me. The woman making sandwiches was sweeping when I walked over after paying.I get my sandwich and leave, and hustle to get to Rockville. I open my sandwich and take 2 bites, and I realize that its chicken salad instead of tuna. Im pescatarian and so I cant even eat it. I wound up throwing it away. Poor service and a waste of money.

This is not a good place for dinner. The restaurants website & its front door both claim its open to 11 p.m. on Saturday. At 6:30 I asked several staffpeople how late theyd stay open. One told me 10 p.m. Another told me 10:30 p.m. When my friend & I stopped in at 9:15 p.m., the staff told us they didnt have enough customers so theyd stopped serving food for the day.
