I went there today and purchased some Dungeness crab clusters. When I get home and opened the bag there was an extremely fishy smell. I steamed them and tasted them and there was a sickly STRONG ammonia smell. I know that they are bad and I had to discard them. This is the second time Ive come to this location and this has happened. I stopped buying seafood from this location a year ago because of this same issue. I thought maybe they had improved, but they definitely havent. Very disappointed.

I used to love shopping at this place. Why do you close at 9pm now? That is ridiculous. Change your hours back to midnight, or at least something reasonable like 11pm, and Ill chance my review back to 5 stars.

Oooha! I love this Harris Teeter Supermarket. Always fresh produce and a variety of fooda from different cuisines! And the people that work here are pleasant and very helpful. Fruits sold there tend to unripe, even the cut ones. The broccoli **ALWAYS** fails the freshness litmus test. Ive also seen cut squash in really bad shape put on sale. Vegetables like peppers are fine. On the whole, the produce department could do **A LOT** better.

Went there for lunch. Combo subs are delicious and the price is more than reasonable because they give you enough to save some for dinner 🤗. Atmosphere is engaging and selection is next level. Its like a United Nations grocery experience.

The Harris Teeter in Adams Morgan is a rare gem. The Adams Morgan neighborhood has very few chain stores, but the Harris Teeter brings convenience, quality, and low-price to the neighborhood. The alternative grocery store option is Safeway, which is in a very poor condition and always out of stock and busy with very few check-out clerks. Harris Teeter is well-stocked, clean, well-lit, convenient, and has a great variety of foods, as well as ready-made foods and salad/hot food bars. They have a huge beer and wine selection. This location does not have an in-store ready-made pizza option, though. They make sushi and grinders in-store. Some great convenience features include a free parking garage on premises, a pharmacy, and hours that mean the store is open until midnight every day. I live within two minutes walking distance so I frequent the store a lot (roughly 5-10 times per week). I know a lot of the staff members by name and they are very friendly, polite, and attentive. They have lots of checkout stations and clerks, as well as four self-checkout stations. I use Samsung Pay without any issues here. The store gets very busy on Sundays and Monday evenings, when most people do their grocery shopping.I highly recommend signing up for a store discount card and signing up for the eVIC online specials. You will receive emails on Tuesday and Thursday nights with extra discounts and specials automatically loaded to your Membership card. Due to the email specials, I receive a free item or two almost every single weekend.

Food was good, hot, hand washing techniques, courtesy &Professionally taught about food handling. Eat there again and recommend every one toDo the same.

This is my go-to grocery store! I highly recommend getting a VIC card and using it to get discounts at the store and also on your gas if you have a car — it’s a nice incentive to shop there for sure. The staff is always kind and I’ve never had any issues here.

Its just a normal supermarket but most of the staff is very nice, theres rarely something you wont find, the pharmacy and its staff is also great, good fruit, good beer, good wine, nice flowers, good breads, good cheese and nice baked goods

Store is generally well stocked and there is a parking garage. Stay clear of self-checkout; it does not function well and is frustrating. Fresh vegetables are plenty and the beer selection is nice.

This location had a very cramped feel because its shoehorned into an existing space that wasnt designed for a supermarket. Its size also keeps it from having as much variety and quantity of products on shelves and in the storeroom. Be prepared to substitute, go elsewhere, or wait until next time, for sale items or other high-demand items. It can be pretty picked-over on weekends.

Great place to get hot lunch or dinner! Pleasantly surprised at their Prime Rib dinner- a big portion with 2 sides for only $10.. Clerks were friendly and helpful,and the shelves were well organized..well definitely recommend..

Cashier asked if i had found everything i wanted. I said that i had, but i had eanted to buy a case of a particular wine snd there were only 5 bottles of it. She asked where i had looked and then went and looked for the wine herself. She also could not find any more of the wine but i appreciated her effort. ( There was no onecelse waiting in line while thisxwas going on.)

Although the produce section is always a traffic jam, and kind of stressful to navigate, the store itself is fine. The lady at the register Marci was wonderful, she is so kind and helpful, and I hope Im able to get her every time I come back!

Compared to other local grocery stores, prices and quality of perishables are pretty good. I’d like to see Apple Pay added. It was my fault for assuming that a large chain grocery store would have it since every other grocery store line has it in the area, and they appear to have the equipment that would support it, but I unfortunately didn’t know it wasn’t available until my order was checked out. It caused me to have to leave and I ended up going to a grocery store closer to my house for what I needef. In this age of ‘contact-less’ it’d be great to see this add.

Great grocery store in the middle of the city. Great selection of very fresh fruits and vegetables. Very good selection of beer and wine. Pharmacy on site. The best feature is their seafood and meat counter. The meats are super high quality and think cut steaks. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Convenient store in the city. Its a smaller space than some suburban Harris Teeters but its efficiently compact and has everything Im looking for every time I go. Free parking on-site is a bonus!

Good selection and good prices. Fresh produce is usually well stocked, and in good shape. Associates are readily available and willing to help. The only real issue is lines tend to back up during peak times. Parking garage in Adams Morgan area is a nice treat as well.

Most all my trips to Harris teeter has been positive it done and the employees are great and even during the height of coronavirus they still had a pretty good supply it is my new favorite grocery store

Got yelled at by a cop within a second of entering the store because I was unaware of their policy that requires patrons to wear masks. All for wearing masks, but was disappointed to see six employees without masks. Dont let cops yell at customers and/or dont selectively enforce policies.

Harris teeter is pretty awesome. They have these giant wedges of brie that is like a third of the cost of brie I see at other grocery stores. If i never leave another review, just assume i died of heart failure from all the delicious reasonably priced soft cheeses Ive been eating

I really enjoy Harris teeter. The building is a bit off-putting being an old cinema, however once you get inside they have a significantly better selection of fresh fruits and vegetables than that of the Safeway or giant located nearby. I would like to see an expanded fresh meat and fish section but both are still better than the local options. Best thing about this Harris teeter is their significant beer selection, which spans an entire aisle of local craft beers, including domestics and imports. Easily worth the trip for the beer options.

I used to think Harris Teeter was one of those companies/brands that signaled a gentrifying neighborhood, skyrocketing rent, and displacement of people of color. What I found, instead, was an affordable neighborhood grocery store that is well stocked, well laid out, with delicious food. The staff is very friendly and represents, to me, the diversity of the neighborhoods that it serves. Of special note are the bakery selections and the hot food bar, which has a section devoted to Asian cuisine that rivals the local carry-out. I am glad that this is one of my neighborhood grocery stores!

Great customer service and solid produce quality though the organic selection is fairly small. I also wish they were more consistent with having paper bags. Ive checked out twice in the past month and been told that theyd run out.

Before I get into it, Harris Teeter is my generally preferred grocery store in the DMV. Secondly, it is heavily my preferred grocery store in Adams Morgan.That said, I do overall like this store, but it has issues, even before the COVID stuff. The staff is either amazingly friendly or gruff and unhelpful. The store feels relatively spacious until you get to the cold aisles, where the ceiling drops lower and everything feels crammed into a corner that is difficult to navigate. Ive gotten some pretty spotty produce here and it seems like no one is quality-controlling the lesser selling items.Overall, is it a great Harris Teeter? Not really. But is it better than the Safeway and Giant in AdMo/Columbia Heights? Very.

Its convenient, what can I say?

I hate to say this but the last three times ive been there, there are things that appear on the receipt which are not in the bags when i get home, typically fruit. also, the customer service and checkout people handle my VIC cared and credit ard with their bare hands during the pandemic?!!! and they have boxes of vinyl gloves right there for them to use!!! i keep forgetting to watch them carefully because im putting the bags in the cart and the fruit is always the last things they ring up.

Good selection but on key weekend times, especially on Sunday, entire sections can be stripped bare. Mostly produce areas and meats. I used to shop at the Giant in Colombia Heights, for most things this is a better experience.Lines move faster than they look, dont be discouraged.Get your Trader Vic card - it will save you a good amount of money.

This grocery store is very clean and organized. All of the employees, I encountered, were friendly and willing to help. I saw that they had samples throughout the bakery area but I didnt try anything. The prices were fair. I wish they had one close to where I live!

Its hard to rate a grocery store over three stars, unless theres something unusually great about it. This place is pretty par for the course. Its fine. A nice wine selection, acceptable fruit and hot bar. Pharmacy is open until 9pm weekdays. Thankfully you usually dont have much of a wait, even when its very busy.

I was very pleasant

This is by far the best grocery store in the area. Its always nice and quiet, fairly well stocked for a city store and clean. Harris Teeter is a pretty decent grocery chain in general and this little guy is nestled on a nice quiet residential street. If you cant stand the crowds at the Columbia Heights Giant or the prices at the P St Whole Foods - go here, itll be like a breath of fresh air.

Thus Harris Teeter is quite nice. It has a surprisingly good selection of beer and wine, as well as decent produce. I do find their vegan selection lacking when compared to similar stores, such as Whole Foods and Roots. I find I still need to shop at those stores to fully supplement all of my food, which is too bad because theres definitely a market for it in Adams Morgan.

With the wide aisles, HT shopping is comfortable. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Friday sub deals, as with other HT locations will be the best value sandwich you can get anywhere ($6 footlong sub on Fridays), and if you get a wrap, you get 2 wraps for the same deal. Meat portioning on the subs/wraps is generous. Grocery has standard sections, and hot bar food available during the usual business hours. Parking garage on the ground level is available for drivers as well.

I just stop by to get some food, and I while I was requesting the saving card from this store This other guy was behind me, at first it was two people helping the line, one was helping the other guy infront of me and I was being help by this lady, behind me it was a guy in a wheel chair, as soon as the guy finish helping the guy in front of me he step out, (knowing the other guy in wheel chair was behind me waiting) the lady told him, Aaron is somebody in wheel chair waiting, he keep walking and I thought he had something to do, I just saw him walking around instead of helping the guy in wheel chair. I definitely didn’t like that and I thought I should give my review, other than that everything was so nice and i love this store!

Best meat and seafood in the neighborhood. Staff are always helpful and welcoming. Harris Teeter is hands down, my favorite grocery store.

Friendly management, great selection of all the foods Ive come to expect from Harris Teeter, plus a few that Kroger carries. I am a North Carolina transplant to the DC area and its great to see a familiar nameplate and all the store brand non-perishables and the deli trademarks (the coconut pecan cookies especially) are there and waiting for me.

Todays visit was pleasant. Friendly seafood young lady was helpful and so was the cashier. He was very nice friendly. Keep these two around, wish I could tell you their names.
