Im from out of town and love a good rich coffee. Love that it was made the way I wanted to perfection. Super clean and kinda friendly.

A Great little cafe with above and beyond customer service. This cafe is nice and offers a lot of seating, they have a whole second floor dedicated to seating. My chai was pretty good and again the service was fantastic. This establishment also has food and snacks.

That’s a fresh bagel right there! When I pulled it apart, it had the perfect amount of cheese 😆 The coffee seems to be espresso drink combos primarily, so the drink I got was an Iced Mocha I think. Pretty tasty 😋

Truly impressed with my overall experience! I walked in to somewhat of line ordering a specialty drink and a breakfast sandwich. I didn’t wait long at all, maybe 10min at max. The quality of the food and the coffee is top notch and when compared to the surrounding restaurants, the price is slightly lower. No need to go to surrounding coffee shops with this place here!

Coffee was yummy. At the time I visited there werent a lot of baked goods in the case for a Saturday morning. It may have been because of the snow/sleet outside.

Best lunch and coffee option in the Navy Yard (and Capitol Hill). There isn’t a ton of seating but it’s usually quiet during the day and the views upstairs of Canal Park are delightful. Also the wife says the lattes are incredible.

Nice quiet upstairs with large windows. The baristas are nice and add to the pleasant atmosphere. Got a cappuccino, which was delicious, and biscotti

Nice little shop thats actually quiet & the coffee is good! The seating is upstairs and I didnt see an elevator, but the music is not too loud and there is free WiFi. Has nice natural light with views of the park next door.

Our favorite coffee shop in the DMV. Excellent coffee, FANTASTIC bagels (can’t find a better one anywhere), yummy loaves, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches. We moved to Alexandria and SO miss this place. I still stop by on my way to work when I can.

This place is a hidden gem! Ive been working at the Navy Yard for years and didnt know this lovely little place was here! The friendly staff are very courteous and quick, the coffee, made to order is so delicious! Smooth, bold, flavorful and robust, without the bitterness. They have a nice assortment of pastries, muffins and bagels and although I have not yet tried them, the breakfast sandwiches look delicious! However, I can vouch for the apple walnut bread and the peach-raspberry muffin! Wow! The apple walnut bread is so dense and flavorful and the peach-raspberry muffin is so delightfully delicious, it tastes like a spring afternoon! I cant wait to go back to this place!

Best place around Navy Yard for coffee and tea. Staff are friendly, product is delicious and cost is lower than chain cafes littering the area. This is definitley a local business worth supporting.

Lot 38 represents the best that a neighborhood local eatery/cafe is. The owners are beyond friendly, always working the behind the counter brewing, taking orders and chatting with you. The food is awesome and significantly better tasting than the two chains close by (Starbucks and Bethesda Bagel). The coffee is awesome. But what really makes it special? While I hate to sound whimsical because I try not to be emotionally attached to places I do business at, I have to admit I feel a sense of joy when I order my weekend breakfast and coffee there. The owners address me by name, warmly engage me in polite conversation and without me asking or really giving them a reason to have in the past thrown in a free goodie into my order unbeknownst to me until I was back in my apartment to enjoy it. I recommend this place to tourists because the lines will be significantly shorter than Starbucks or Bethesda Bagel and youll enjoy the quality of food. But overall I recommend this place to our neighborhood community because its genuinely a great place to go and shop at. You feel good from both the food and the joy. Thanks for being awesome Lot 38.

I love taking my laptop and doing work while sipping coffee and eating a bagel and lox. The employees are very pleasant and it’s always quiet and peaceful. I took off a star because it closes SO EARLY.

The Lot is the BEST coffee shop in Navy Yard. The coffee is delicious and they get you your order quickly without much wait even during rush hours. They are so friendly and always brighten up my day.

Lot 38 is the best coffee shop in the Navy Yard neighborhood. Good quality coffee (better than Starbucks), good price, and best of all, the cheapest breakfast sandwiches for the quality in the neighborhood. Why pay $7 for a coffee and a bagel with cream cheese at Bethesda Bagels when you can get coffee and an egg sandwich with bacon for less? Also, the lunch sandwiches are cheap, homemade, and with a good variety like Banh Mi

This is one of my favorite places to get coffee in DC. The owners are lovely people, who make my drink perfect every time -- it really feels handcrafted. The coffee brand is illy, which is one of my favorites. The pastries and sandwiches are tasty and theres often a selection of fresh cut fruit.

The coziest place in Navy Yard, and one of the most underrated lunch spots. Their sandwiches are great and low priced, with the Bahn Mi being a highlight. The Illy coffee is nice, and you have a good view for people watching on the second floor. To top it off, great people own and run it!

Tucked away a little off M street Lot 38 has great coffee, bagels, and sandwiches. Its a great place to stop for breakfast and grab a quick bagel with egg and cheese. The lunch sandwiches are also good and come at a reasonable price.

Its a bit chilly in here! And not enough wall outlets along the wall with the sofas. The chicken bahn mi could use a better type of bread; it wasnt chewy enough for my liking. Otherwise, nice quiet place to bring a laptop to and work!

This is a pretty great local spot. The bottom is a little cramped, but theres a lot of room upstairs. The owners are pretty friendly and the man who makes the drinks always seems to be having a great time.

Love their illy coffee drinks, Ive never had anything but a great cup of coffee there. The barista remembers me even if I hadnt been there in months and always remembers how I like my drinks. Ive seen him treat everyone the same way, its a skill, for sure. I love their coffee, their service is surprisingly fast, even with a long line, especially considering there is literally one person manning the speciality coffee drinks. Highly recommend.

Lot 38 makes the best caramel macchiato in the area. They also serve Illy coffee, for Italian coffee lovers. I can say that I do enjoy their chicken banh mis and chicken pesto paninis, always consistent. The staff is nice and remember faces, so you will always feel welcomed every time you walk in.

When it comes to cafes Im usually looking for quiet places to work with good coffee (my definition of good coffee is one thats not leaving a bitter after-taste; not too strong). This cafe fit the bill. Its tucked away on a street corner so you might miss it. I loved it for 3 reasons : their coffee (They serve Illys coffee), the ambience (light music and seating was upstairs; you buy the coffee downstairs; plenty of outlets; wi-fi accessibility) and location (it was on the corner of a quiet neighborhood and the seating area overlooks a park)
