I was a big fan of the pineapple french toast with plantains. It was great. I nice spin on french toast. This location is dope with a lot of options for outdoor seating on the nice days, especially in that alleyway. They have a really good expansive menu and a good amount of drink options.

Ok spot for Cuban casual eating. It’s a grab a seat and scan menu through your mobile system. It gets very busy at times, the staff tend to get too busy to answer any questions or help. The location in the wharf is cool if you want to grab a quick bite & Cuban cafe con leche, then walk around to explore.

I dont know why this place has such high marks. Our service was poor, to say the least, our order took forever, the food is 7-11 quality, and the prices are too high for what I would say are microwavable appetizers, watered-down drinks, and overly strong coffee that has no balance. Two thumbs way down.

This place is cute but the service leaves something to be desired. Ordering on an app is cool but paying and including the tip prior to the order be delivered is ehhh. The server wanted to argue about whether the the drink was paid for when it was ordered with the food. Although we were still ordering food and drinks the server decided he was going to give us a time limit even though the website nor location had any time limits posted.Atmosphere 4 stars~ its a fun rooftop vibe with loud Latin music.Service 2 stars ~ if you are going to deliver my food in a paper bag please include utensils and not make me get them from a self service community table. It defeats the purpose. Oh, and be nice.Food 2 stars ~ if you have dietary restrictions, this is NOT the place for you. Limitations for gluten free and pork free selections are what you will find.

Let’s start from the foods here: the two sandwiches I had here made me forget about all the cuban sandwiches I had eaten before. Its taste is completely another level. So I would say that this is kind of a place where you would be willing to go even only for the foods. What’s stunning about this place is that other things—beyond the foods and drinks—are all exceptional as well. Such a cool ambiance, lovely service and a lot of seating availabilities with variety.

Loved the ambiance here in the outdoor rooftop area. Dining with a born and grown Cuban, we tried a variety of items on the menu to help decide about a catering order. We enjoyed the sandwiches: Cubanos and guava bbq lechon, and empanadas: picadillo and summer corn. We were not a fan of the croquetas: jamon (VERY salty) and milanesas was just ok ( the seasoned rice and cheese didnt seem all that compatible). Our cocktails, were also great! Pina coladas were quite a hit, and I also tried the Cuban jungle.... Its not close to the Pina colada with flavor. All in all, Id go again occasionally.

This place has a cool atmosphere along with quick bites. We walked over for breakfast as commuters stopped by on their way to work. We walked in with some Latin beats playing, the smell of coffee upon entry at the door, and the cooks behind the counter getting the lunch menu prepared. We ordered a little taste of just about everything, since it was our last day in DC and the US for a short while. I wish I could have this every morning.

I freakin loved this place! I came to visit DC for a weekend and made sure I ate here twice before I left! What’s not to love here? They have a gorgeous roof top patio where you can get croquetas and empanadas if you didn’t order enough when you were downstairs, they serve excellent vegetarian options and churros and café con leche. If I lived in DC this would be a go to spot!My friend and I ordered the spinach empanadas, guava cheese pastry, yucca & cheese croquetas, churros and the vegetarian ‘cuban’ sandwich. I got say I never would have thought about cauliflower for a Cuban sandwich but it works!! I wish it had more mushrooms but it was still delicious - that pressed toasted bread makes it! And you get a side of plantain chips- WINOh and we can’t forget the churros con chocolate and café con leche! These didn’t disappoint either. The churros are more on the doughy type side so it’s just a matter of preference if you like crispy vs doughy. I still enjoyed them even though I tend to prefer crispier.I also love that you can customize your café con leche “Miami sweet” or “half sweet” AND they have milk alternatives- P.S. try it with soy milk it’s very good.Needless to say, this spot is totally worth checking out. Get a little taste of cuba/ Miami in DCCiao!

This is one of my favorite cafés in DC. One of the best places to go during the pandemic since they have outdoor seating at both the Wharf and T Street locations. The spinach and cheese empanadas are delicious—super soft and gooey—and the croquetas are my favorite snack there. I wish more than two came in the order!! I ordered the cubano sandwich for the first time this week, and it was incredible. I saved half in the fridge and it was just as delicious after re-heating it.The coffee and cocktails are excellent. Thursday nights is Havana nights with $2 empanadas and $6 cocktails. Really good but I probably wouldnt see me drinking more than one or two drinks here. Maybe its because I just came from Miami, but I was a little disappointed in the medianoche and pastelitos here. However, the cortadito was on point!

Love Colada since it first opened. The popularity has definitely increased. Now every time I come in, the line is out the door and there is barely any seating. As happy as I am for their success, I cant help but be selfishly bitter. Its always a battle to get in and out of here!My go to is definitely their iced Café Con Leche, and with half sweet & soy milk - its just perfect. Ive tried their coconut syrup and it was extremely sweet. The Croquetas & Pastelitos though.... *insert heart eyes here*I really wanted to like the veggie Cuban sandwich but it was just meh.(Mojo marinated portabella mushrooms, Roasted Cauliflower, Swiss cheese, cilantro aioli and Mustard, cuban bread.)It had no Cuban flavors and was very disappointing. Pricey for what it is.My girlfriends Cuban mother got the Media Noche sandwich.(Ham, Slow Roasted Pork, Swiss Cheese, Mustard, Mayo, house made pickles, Sweet Roll.)She really enjoyed it a lot. She did state though that it wasnt actual Cuban bread and just needed the Cuban bread to top it off.Everything else is delicious. The atmosphere is lovely. If you can find seating and space!Definitely a favorite of my girlfriends and I.

This place has really good coffee and its the price worth it. Is really nice place but, when we went there it was really full with people. I think that most of the food is overpriced. I mean, $10 for a sandwich, thats a lot to me. They sell Pasteles de guayaba which was really good, but so expensive for a little piece. We got the 3 for $5.50 and is like a big pastel cut in 3 pieces. The restrooms are unisex and there is only 2. I had to stand in line and wait for using it. I didnt liked that that all. Stellar food/coffee/drinks and super fun vibes. Ive been for just about every meal and have been happy with everything Ive tried from here, but the guava/cheese pastelitos and cafe con leche are probably my favorite. My non-coffee-drinking boyfriend loves their other non alcoholic drink options. The cocktails are also really yummy and a great takeout option during COVID.Docking a star because service during busy times can be tough-- Ive experienced wait times way longer than the online order system estimates, and also once received the wrong item (a regular Cuban sandwich instead of a veggie-- which is pretty devastating to a vegetarian!). It also can get very crowded inside with people waiting to order and waiting for their orders. However, if you avoid the weekend afternoon rush, service is totally fine and well worth it.

This is a review that I wish didnt happen because I really liked this place. But after coming here 3 times, sadly because of one of their employees, I have no desire to return. My fiance and I loved the fact that the coffee is good, its open late and they have a great rooftop and seating options. But one of their employees is just nasty and has a horrible attitude. Her energy is all the way off and while the two other employees diffused what could have been a bad situation, I have no desire to see her face again and I definitely dont want her making my coffee. As a business owner, I would not want to have an employee that didnt know how to treat my customers. She needs to get some customer service training or get a new job.

I can’t say enough about their catering. We are Cubans from Miami and wanted to host a Cuban-themed party (with our DC-Cubans). Daniella Senior worked with us for the catering. Needless to say, it was a complete hit! The food was delicious! Very disappointed, I looked at their menu and saw they advertised what looked ( since they have a picture posted ) like a beef pastelito and the description .. I drive 25 minute to get there, pick up my food and find out their beef pastelito looks and taste just like their empanada.. really greasy and full of meat. It was delicious but not what it’s supposed to be, it is misleading on the website.. unless you have your own twist to a pastelito then it’s fine, just put the correct image to match what you sell that way customers are aware that it may not be what it’s supposed to be. a pastelito it’s a baked pastry, not a fried looking empanada..

Food & drinks were great but overall the place was a bit too chaotic and involved for me. They also ran out of plain guava / guava & cheese pastelitos and instead gave us plain cheese ones without saying anything or offering to just refund instead (which we’d have preferred to do).I would love to chock it up to a simple mix-up but the person bagging them up quite obviously leaned over to their co-worker working the till and whispered asking what to do, and the employee working the till told her to just put out the order anyways if I read his animated gestures right. I just didn’t realize what they were on about about until we started checking out the pastelitos upstairs. We’ll be back to enjoy some more of their delicious Pina Coladas but we’ll no doubt stick to slower times so that we don’t get lost in the crowd again. The restaurant would definitely benefit from an increase in staffing, all of the employees were working their butts off, they just couldn’t keep up and wound up cutting corners.

There is outdoor seating towards the front that is perfect for socializing (my favorite) and indoor seating in the back that is good for reading, chilling, or studying.
