This place’s storefront is closed with no mention here, their website, or Instagram… get it together so people don’t waste their time looking for you!Owner replied about Georgetown when this is in reference to the wharf… they don’t know what’s going on

We bought our Corporate Christmas gifts from Harper Macaw. It was an absolute pleasure working with Sam to customize our gift and it turned out beautifully. All of our clients loved it and we could not be more happy with it ourselves. I highly recommend Harper Macaw and would use them again in a heartbeat!

So yummy! Came for the incredible smell and stayed for...the incredible smell! Cappuccino with macadamia nut milk was perfect. No sweetener necessary! Barista is super sweet and you can tell she puts her best in each and every drink she makes. There are delicious chocolate samples to try along the wall along with their very own chocolate bars to sell. Cozy ambiance is perfect for even a snowy day💙 I will definitely be back here again.

Great factory, lovely chocolate! Very kind owners who care not only about producing high quality chocolate, but also care about saving the environment in the process.

Harper Macaw recently opened a chocolate and coffee shop in Georgetown, and it’s perfect the place to take a break from shopping and exploring or to settle down to knock out some work remotely. These folks are dedicated to their craft, and I had the mocha (made with in-house chocolate) that was delicious.

Very informative tour with tasting at the end. But the best thing about this is the business model and motivation for what theyre doing. Theyre focused on sustainable farming in Brazil and a percentage of every bar of chocolate sold goes towards rain forest restoration. So feel good about eating chocolate!

Best gift idea. Walked in and spoke to one of the owners who put together the best selection for my gifts. He explained in detail and I will definitely be back. Good local small business to support. Chocolates were delish. Finished 2 bars already in one day. Vegan options too.

After seeing Matt’s livestream demo making “Nibby Snickerdoodles”, I obviously ordered myself some cacao nibs off their website. Shipping was fast, customer service top notch! Nice to be able to support this awesome place even when we can’t make it in for a delicious coffee in person.

Who gets the chance to tour a chocolate factory in their life that isnt in Hershey PA? This place will offer you the real deal chocolate, with a tour of exactly how chocolate is made. Even better, they use a portion of their profits to rebuild the Brazilian Rainforest! This was an amazing experience, with an opportunity to try something you will never expect. I highly recommend anyone to spend the 10 dollars for the t our and try their chocolates, they are for sure some of the best things I have ever had. Putting big companies to the test. I recommend the 77%, it offers a fruity flavor that only can be found in Para Brazil. See photo for packaging.

Harper Macaw may not be the first chocolate factory in DC (Two other preceded it including Undone Chocolate out of Union Kitchen), but it is certainly the biggest in the city. Located next to DC Brau Brewery in NE DC, it makes for an ideal Saturday for the entire family. It costs $10 per adult for a tour and you can book it online on their website. That way you can easily park and walk in minutes before your tour starts (Theres one at 1PM and one at 3PM on Saturdays). Youll be given a hair net to wear and then one of the co-founders leads you into the kitchen to start your tour. The tour lasts just over an hour and it begins with a short video on the history of Harper Macaw and its Brazilian fine chocolate. You are then led to the very back where you see the cocoa beans fresh off the truck. Youre then led through the factory having the process explained and shown the machinery that makes the chocolate. At the every end, you get a tasting of four of their chocolates (One milk chocolate and three darker chocolates). Unlike other chocolate factories, you can taste as many samples as you want.Once the tour is over, you are led back into the front store where you can buy a $8 chocolate bar and/or coffee and an amazing chocolate chip cookie (The dough is from Northside Social and the chocolate is from Hersheys....just kidding...Harper Macaw of course). The tour can be done with kids, but I wouldnt recommend it. Our six month old baby loved the bright art decorating the factory, but she produced her own sticky brown goo half way through the tour and the two bathrooms didnt have a changing table. There were two older kids on our tour and they seemed bored until the tasting.

I had these cats walk me around their immaculate facility, fill me with chocolate and swag, and send me on my way. No one knows chocolate better - nobody makes better chocolate! A great gift as well - go get it.

Pretty good chocolate, a little bit of a weird vibe, very crowded on the tour with a lot of old white people breaking rules and touching machinery with no repercussion (classic old white people stuff). Not sure Im going to buy chocolate from a place where I know others had touched the machinery without protection.
