Finally found my favorite crepes...from France, of course! Salt caramel cheesecake is perfect. They have a coffee bar that closes at 2:30 p.m.

Nice selection of tasty, upscale eats from donuts to the meat counter and everywhere in between. It doesnt quite fulfill its promise, however, of filling the void in the Van Ness lunch scene. Take the sandwich pictured, for example. At $11 and named The Godfather, I had visions of a robust and filling Italian sandwich. It was not that. Pretty good quality meat, but leaves you feeling hungry and a little bitter about the price-tag

Consistently poor service... hot coffee is all you’re gonna be happy with, waited an hour for frozen quiche.. again waited, ask for it to go, watched the waiter pick it up with his hand. Mind boggling!

My experiences at this place are some of the most infuriating I’ve ever had at a restaurant. You have to place your order at a tablet that’s organization of items is subpar at best while it constantly freezes and erases your order. Then you have to watch one person run around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to make every single person’s coffee and food for the next twenty minutes before they can give your mediocre, most likely heavily processed and pre-made sandwich that you will be lucky to receive hot. There needs to be more staff working on a consistent basis so that the condiment bar can actually be filled for once. One of the worst run restaurants and business models I’ve ever seen. Be better.

Uptown is very reliable. They have amazing fries, good coffee and food, and reasonably priced drinks. Their outdoor seating is well spaced and their staff is fantastic.

This place is simply and down amazing read the prices are not D.C. prices. It has an International flavor in the food choices and the selection is impressive. They have a great selection of sandwiches, which are not lacking in size. I REALLY recommend this place. Especially for the locals. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The patio restaurant was very nice, good service and we all enjoyed the brunch salmon/shrimp burgers. Next time I go, Ill reserve one of the tables with umbrellas- no shade and mid-day sun forced us to cut short our visit.

I wish I lived upstairs so I eat there often... everything looks delicious. The flatbread we ate with mushrooms and caramelized onions was to die for.

My girlfriend likes this place so I go. Pickup service is consistently awful. Half the time they have forgotten the order and the other half a stand around waiting for someone to notice me

I’m all about supporting new local eateries, especially if the food is organic and made to order. You can find everything to enhance your taste buds, from coffee to pizza, even salmon, lean beef and salads. Not to mention a variety of desserts. Between the amazing costumer service to the mouth watering food options, don’t know which is better!

I really like the great variation of foods, sandwich and coffee. The space is really clean, relax, comfortable and friendly to friends and family. I am back here to update my last review. I am really impressed with the update of the staff on the coffee shop. They are really professional, helpful and friendly.

Went here for the first time tonight. I got cured meat (speck to be precise) it was disgusting. Not edible because it was clearly not preserved properly. It did not smell fresh and it tasted awful. I also noticed some cheeses with funny looking mold and no I am not referring to Roquefort Gorgonzola, this is the bad mold that can make you sick. What a disappointment, I was excited for this place but I won’t be returning.

I live in the neighborhood and welcome Uptown! Everything I have tried here is wonderful, the choice is outstanding (it is possible to find things not available anywhere else), the service is excellent, and management very friendly. Only wish it would stay open a bit later (perhaps initially on a few nights only?) so that we could have dinner there!

Curious that the owners delete reviews about their lousy service. I waited, first in the line, at the coffee bar for ten minutes. Three people were working there, not a single one acknowledged my presence with so much as a greeting, or a nod, or a well get to you as soon as we can. I wont be back; plenty of better options in the area. The response from the owner published below, assures Ill never darken the doors of this dump again.

I would like to consider myself a regular customer, however unfortunately their processes and procedures are very “irregular”. As much as I want to see them succeed, at this rate, they just will not. This is unfortunate as I do like their offerings but cannot invest 45-60 minutes in my 30 minutes of lunch hour for a &12 sandwich. And it wasn’t the sandwich that took long. It was the premise of ordering at one station, paying at another and then picking up my sandwich at another counter (I ordered it to go after I had initially ordered to dine in but time was of the essence here for me to get back to work. My pedometer counted over 500 steps in Uptown Market to buy a $12 sandwich. I was told by a cashier and a somewhat seemingly disgruntled managerial type figure, (Female) that they are working through the kinks of a new ordering practice but that doesn’t change the fact that my lunch break was over an hour. I’m sorry Uptown Market but you probably should’ve hashed this out prior to opening.Bottom line- I won’t be back. Plenty of other options in the neighborhood.

Several weeks ago I purchased a Havana sandwich. It was just OK, not even close to the Cubano at Bread Furst across the street, and the cost was the same.Last night after a long drive home from Thanksgiving, I purchased a container of Buchers Bolognese Sauce, a Chopped Salad and a hunk of Grana Padano cheese. The pasta sauce was flavorless, the lettuce was wilted and there were specks of mold on the cheese. Not even Giant quality at Market prices.
