Love a great indie bookstore. This place has an interesting curated selection, charm & the staff are very helpful. It’s located in the wharf which is very cool to walk around day or night. Highly recommend- support local bookstores!
Visited on Sunday, Oct 17 a bit after 7pm. For some reason, an employee was sitting behind the front desk, loudly playing some random YouTube show. You could hear it through the entire bookstore and it ruined the atmosphere.
Love this store - great service at a terrific location.
Very polite helpful staff who take time providing top notch customer service. The store is managing COVID-19 precautions better than anywhere else I’ve experienced so far. Thank you!Nice selection of new and relevant material in the children’s section. Great to see current events presented sensibly in kids’ terms.
This was such a cute bookstore, and it was difficult to not keep my book purchases below 5. Would definitely recommend if youre looking to expand your critical book selection.
Great boutique bookstore. They accept online orders.
Great shop! It had a ton of books
Standard bookstore with fun knickknacks for sale alongside bestsellers and top new releases. I appreciate the wide variety of genres with the mixture of both emerging and established writers. I do wish there was more space to sit an enjoy a few pages. Im not sure what I was expecting exactly. I had hoped to be blown away by something fabulous, but instead I just found your average shop. It is kept nice and clean though.
This ppl lace is hot!
Open every day of the week from 10am-10pm, this local bookstore is more than a place that sells books. It sells local crafts, toys, and other items. They also host author events throughout the month. The store itself is HUGE and sells any book you can imagine. If they dont have it, they can order it for you.
Easy order online and pick up in store.
There are so many books to look at and choose from. Tucked away at the district wharf, this is a great place to come and find a new read (with all of the sections neatly marked) or find the perfect gift. There are other small items sold here that are so interesting to look at and fiddle with. If youre looking for a unique gift look no further!
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great selection of books and gifts. My favorite place on the Wharf.
Great store and fun to visit. Recommend checking out the DC-specific History section. Thats where youll find something unique.
Strictly a bookstore. Not the combination of coffee and books. Not as comfortable as Connecticut Avenue NW Bookstore. Wish them the best. Great guest. But should have him at a better location or at Busboys and Poets as well.
Annie Jacobson was a great journalist to hear. She presented the material and let the audience draw its own conclusions. It was quite refreshing, and different from many P&P invitees.
This is a great local bookstore. They were very helpful putting a book on hold for me, and helped me look for another book on the shelves. They also have fun and interesting items by the register. A great new addition to the Wharf in SW D.C.!
Loved the bookstore and the staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is easy in the garage at the Wharf. Excellent location and easy to get to. Found the books I was looking for. And more.
Really cute book store. Lots of different subjects and has a great kids section. I love this area of The Wharf and Politics and Prose is an easy top spot to escape the wind or to judge some covers.
This is a fantastic bookstore - something that’s missing nowadays. Their curated sections are worth your time. Their selection tends to focus around social justice, current events, US history, and DC history. I’m a sci-fi / fantasy nerd, and honestly their selection in those areas are reasonable. They are not a huge store so I don’t expect them to have everything. Also, they do have graphic novels hidden in the back area which is a treat! The staff is always friendly and helps when I’m looking for something. No bathroom.
A good book store like other P&P locations. They have a decent membership deal for SW DC residents. Even if you arent interested in a book store on the Wharf they have some fun knick knacks and the pike that may peak your interest.
Fantastic bookstore. If brick and mortar stores werent an outdated relic of the past, this would be a fantastic business. Almost considered not perusing and ordering the book off Amazon instead. 10/10.
Upscale, gift-forward bookshop with lots to divert every family member. The shelves are yall, so shoppers cant leaf through everything in sight without help from a staff person. Chill vibe, friendly, clean.
Amazing local bookstore with good selection and friendly staff. The events that Politics and Prose puts on are some of the best in the city for general interest topics.
Great bookstore. Always was, still is.
A very niche book store that offers amazing trinkets for all but choice books for the aspiring edgy intellects
Beautiful location. A little small but it has plenty of material for all readers to enjoy
Wide variety of books, magazines and reading/writing items in a warm comfortable environment.
Superb bookstore! GREAT selection. Plus wonderful fun stuff.
Love, love, love this store. I travel through DC often and always make time to shop in this store. The book lovers extras (note pads, games, pens, etc) are wonderful.
Cozy bookshop with bestsellers in fiction, politics and US history! There is a great selection of games too.
Smaller compared to their main store in NW. The lack of space is my only complaint. But the Wharf location has a very well curated selection of both fiction and non-fiction. I really appreciate that they made sure to have a local section as well.
Childrens books were diverse & fun for my grandchildren!Staff was friendly, and the air conditioning made it a great reprive from the hot DC afternoon!
Looks tacky with no place to sit and peruse a book before buying. Looks like the interior is slapped together and it doesnt have a great selection of books.
Great local bookstore. It is a smaller space but they have an excellent and varied selection with a very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Terrific store with very helpful staff. Great variety and fine browsing experience.
Attended an author signing (Francisco Cantu). First time in their new store. Nothing fancy, lots of books. I am glad this independent bookstore is expanding!
Lovely book shop with awesome opening hours. Id never done it before: have a great night out, followed by checking out a book shop.
Excited for this new location! Staff are friendly and helpful and they have a good selection of books and gifts, as well as interesting events with authors.
Small space. Takes advantage an iconic name. Minimal selection.
Its great they opened a store at this location, so close to Northern Virginia. Small store, but decent book selection and plenty of gift items.
Great bookstore, I was invited here for book presentation, amazing location.
Poor website; confusing. Little of the great atmosphere of the place on Connecticut. Just another bookstore. Staff need training. Very expensive parking ($11 minimum), few spaces in the evening, while Connecticut branch often has free on-street parking.
Cute bookstore with friendly staff. The sore was bright, airy and arranged well to find good books.
Love this book store. Quirky and quaint with the best books!
Heard Martin Walker. He was excellent. However, the drive to the Wharf was less so. The Wharf is an excellent destination but not during rush hour
Nice, small outpost of this fantastic bookstore. The wonderful staff went over and above to help us find some great picture books for our toddler.
Small, quaint bookstore at the DC Wharf. Great for unique reads and quirky gifts!
Attended Pierce Browns book signing. A well kept library with helpful staff and interesting events.
Only bookstore on the wharf, saw a great book talk here.
Cool little book store with staff recommendations on the shelves
Bigger than expected, though smaller than the flagship. Friendly staff, great selection, cute gifts! Will be back.
I could spend a lot of money in here. Great election of books and they have Blackwing Pencils!
They had so many interesting things there, it was a really cute place
Not a very politically diverse selection of books
Fabulous. Bookstore on the wharf with a friendly, knowledgeable staff!
The cutest bookstore at the District Wharf for sure. Really great selection of non-fiction, fiction, and nic-nacks.
Small bookstore with a small but good selection, specially on politics and history.
I didbt read know book here but it a place where u can find what u need
A lovely shop with a cutting-edge and relevant collection of books, magazines, graphic novels, and fun knick nacks.
Its super small compared to the main store up in Cleveland Park. Theres maybe 1000 square foot with a scant collection. That said, theres not many bookstores nearby so its not a bad option if youre in the area!
Beautiful little book store right on the wharf.
A glorified gift shop masquerading as a bookstore. This place is as boring and lifeless as their Chevy Chase location is vibrant and cozy. Boo.
Its not as kozy as the original but it has a great selection of fun books and nick knacks. I wish it had some seating or some color on the ceiling. There is to much white.
Newish location of a famed DC institution for readers and political junkies at the fabulous Wharf. As scene on C-SPAN!
Every book lovers haven.
Great books and nice people
No positive books on Trump along with their focus on congressional Democrats shows this place has a clear liberal bias in their selection of books, but they do have a vast selection to choose from.
Bought a cute pair of socks from here.
Pretty new, not huge but well lit and has chairs if you need to sit and leaf through a book!
Very Accommodating and willing to order what is not in store
Cool store to browse in.
Love this store and the poetry events.
Great independent book store
Awesome little shop!
Not just books but super fun gifts!
Good selection of books!
Love this little shop!
Nice little book store
Interesting selection of new fiction
Love it here 💙
Good little book store
If you like satyr
Kind of a concrete warehouse, nothing like the original
This is one of those bookstores I could get lost in. I just wish they had some seats around.
Great books and merch
One of those places where I can spend hours.
