This place is absolutely the worst. Took my car in to get my Transmission fluid done and a week later the Transmission goes out. The owner would not admit to doing the damages but he did offer to take off the $406 I just paid for the other service. So now I have to buy a transmission for a Cadillac plus pay him $800 for labor. He was laughing at me making a joke out of my situation. His first quote was $4000

Fast friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place for an oil change. I will be returning here for my future ones as well. They do not take appointments but if you show up at their opening they can fit you in right away. Dennys is also right down the street, a nice place to wait for your service.

Ive been taking my car here for the past year and I dont even live in D.C. I just cant get the same great service anywhere else. From oil changes to swapping out alternators to a tune-up, these guys will bend over backwards to make sure you walk away a happy customer. Theyll even drive you home or to Union Station if you need a ride, while your car is in the shop. Jin is great at going over what needs to be done and why. Overall, if you like trustworthy and professional mechanics with outstanding customer service, this is your place... 5 stars.

On September 12, 2013 I took my Moms SUV to AAMCO @ 1001 Bladensburg Rd NE to have it checked out because the gears seemed to be slipping and when vehicle was in park it will slowly roll so we have to use parking brake to keep in place.I had been driving it for 2 weeks nursing it along. As long as I took my time getting it moving from a full stop it drove fine once I got moving. The mechanic took it in back and supposedly put it on machine to check. The mechanic brought it back to the front after about 10 minutes. Another guy in plain clothes gets in and proceeded to drive out of lot. I asked the man behind the desk what he was doing. He told me he was checking what the 1st mechanic told him by test driving so they could be positive of diagnosis. He returns and as he puts vehicle in park it makes like a grinding sound as he moves gear shift to park. I tell him I have heard that several times. He gets out and starts to explain to me what is wrong but I notice vehicle drifting. I asked if he put parking brake on and he said he did not but is acting a little unconcerned so I move to go to vehicle to put parking brake on. He then says he has it and gets on applies parking brake but then proceeds to move the gear shift back and forth rapidly and all the while it is making the grinding sound. He gets out and goes and gets a part that looks like a wheel with a rod in the middle and proceeds to tell me that that wheel (spalke), I forgot the name but mechanics would know, was inside the transmission and was what kept gears in place when shifted from park, reverse, neutral, etc. They told me a price and I told them I needed to think about it.I left the lot and it barely got off lot before it basically stopped and when moved had loud grinding sound. When I arrived the grinding sound was only when I started rolling from a stop after I got going it was fine. I finally make my way to a parking lot about a block away and I cant move forward or back and sounds horrendous. I had to call a tow truck and transmission is totally gone.I feel the way that man kept moving gear shift back and forth rapidly like he did he purposely made sure that thing broke thinking they were going to get the business but I cannot prove it. Nor did he give me a print out of diagnosis. I will NEVER take my vehicle to an AAMCO again. My mother is a senior and needs her vehicle and to do that to someone is CRUDDY!!! How many people have they done this to? They SCAMMED me but I cant prove it but I can tell others so they wont make the same mistake as I did.

I got 2 opinions about a noise coming from underneath my Suburban they both said its my transfer case. I took it to Aamco told them what I was told, they checked and concurred. My warranty company agreed to the repairs within the first week, they had my truck for another week. When I got it back I was told they did work on my transmission over $2k worth. The truck was still making the same noise. I took it back to them a month later on a Tuesday they checked it out the next day saying they didnt have an open bay to put it on a lift, then told me its my transfer case. I said I told you that when I brought it to you the first time his response was why did we work on the transmission This is only half the story because theyve had my vehicle for another 2 weeks and Im still waiting for them to fix it. Apparently they dont know what theyre doing. They are a waste of time, patience, effort and most of all MONEY. If you have any of those things to give away, be my guess and take your vehicle there, youll be sorry.

These guys are total crooks. They overcharge you for parts to make money off of you. They dont even check to see if you really need the parts or not. I knew this when they tried to order new air filters for me that I purchased a week ago. They offer to transfer your diagnostic fee if you decide to have them fix the car but if you try to buy the parts, they are gonna wanna have you pay the diagnostic fee. Total crooks, this means they hike the price of the parts to dupe you of your money. Never ever going back there.

My car, after losing power and being jumped, would no longer shift out of first gear. Plus, it was giving almost every transmission error code possible, and the check engine soon light was on.I dropped it off, expecting a new transmission control module was in my future. Turns out, it only needed to be reset, and this location of Aamco said that what they did fit under their coupon for a free transmission inspection. They charged nothing! Plus, they were quite friendly. I will return.

I took my car to this place for oil change, for some reasons they opened the coolant cap and didnt close it tight afterward, 2 days later my cars engine overheated because the coolant cap is loosed and the coolant has gone everywhere and that cause engine overheated.I know that because I never pop up the hoot and check things, the car never had leaking problem, and Im the only person who drives it, so for the entire month it was only this place who did things to my car.The damage cost me 1600 dollars to repair the engine gasket which was blown. A simple oil change can lead to the entire engine repair and thats only from this place.Personally I think these korean technicians are really bad people for new customers who just came for purchasing low cost service, they would come into intention to kill your car. Why would they even need to open the coolant cap, as I came there for oil change?Beware the fact that these people might do something to your car that will only happens sometime later.

I just had to take the time to write about how kind and generous these guys are! En route to work one morning, my car began to over heat, (as it had been doing quite frequently in the recent days). I pulled into the Aamco and was met with a courteous, professional staff who epitomized what customer service should resemble. The gentleman, (Mr. Jin), kindly arranged transportation for me to get to work. Once diagnosed he took the time to explain to me the various findings he discovered while assessing my vehicle. He even offered his opinion, (when asked), on what my best options were re: my car. While mulling over my decision for a few days, he allowed me to park my car over the weekend with NO storage fee. I decided that I wouldnt have the needed work done (d/t my poor finances). Mr. Jin not only waived the storage fee, but additionally, didnt charge me for the assessment! I was so moved by this act of kindness and consideration that I felt it imperative to report such quality service. Unfortunately, I cant speak on an actual account of mechanical service beyond the diagnostic . Thus, I believe these guys are honest and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking service for their vehicle. Thank you so much guys! Its comforting to know that there are still some nice people left in the world. :-)

I cant evaluate the repairs yet, but Ill have to give low marks for customer service Jan 2013. When I picked up my car, there were loose screws on the floor, so I had to go back the next day. There were also small bits of wire on the seats, a greasy rag in the back, and several grease stains on the seat and carpet. They offered to try to clean it, but I took it elsewhere instead. Some came out, some didnt.
