Perhaps the best antique store in the Washington D.C. area, Frank Milwee has an excellent sense of design and taste for quality. His prices are fair, which is a stark contrast to many other shops in the area. This is a real antique shop -- not one of the trendy places that sells overpriced vintage junk. On top of that, he is committed to making antiques accessible for everyone, and permits customers (including children) to handle everything.

The antique corkscrew display in the window enticed me to enter Milwees antique shop on our visit to Georgetown...and what a treat it turned out to be. Frank is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining in addition to having a lovely shop stuffed with beautiful and interesting wares. I never thought about corkscrews beyond the immediate need to open an evening bottle, but now I have several unique corkscrews on display...with stories...to go along with wine and friends.
