I always find great things here, which is great until you look at the price tag. $16-$20 for a used sweater is obnoxious and not feasible for anyone on a budget to pay. I frequent the Pontiac location and the prices are nowhere near as high.

There is no changing room to try on items. Im not going to waste my time hunting through thrift store racks and risk wasting a lot of money (prices here are a little high for a thrift store....) because I have to guess if something will fit. I can throw a jacket or maybe some shirts on top of my clothes, but I cant realistically try on pants or shorts or leggings or a lot of dresses over top of my clothes and as a thrift store, I cant return it later if it doesnt fit.I will never be returning to this store. Theres plenty of other thrift stores where I dont have to gamble with fit. If youre shopping for clothes, I recommend you go elsewhere.

1 person working only?! Sheesh… could not be slower to checkout. The prices seem to be about 2x-3x the Salvation Army story not far. Better selection here for Halloween costumes but the higher price and slow wait to checkout, not good.

I like this thrift store nice prices, so Id like that clothes will be organized by sizes and colors, that become easy to find clothes what I look for.

The store is manifested with FLEAS!!! every summer and fall that climb on you, come home with you, AND BITE ON YOUR SKIN :( SO PAINFUL :( A clear vision of what they think about their customers!!!

Selection has been very limited lately. Staff also needs to be taught basic math skills. If total is $112 and I want to give $60 in cash and rest on card, the amount that goes on card is what? $56, 57, 58, who knows.... also, if they dont want to bring up more than two items (because its actually doing something) why are you working register?

$16 For a USED flannel? $12 for Jeans with stains or holes in them? They raised the prices on EVERYTHING. You can keep your reclaimed garbage and i,ll spend my dollars somewhere else!! Steal from donation boxes to make a profit

The lady was so rude she called me a cracked and they overcharged me by $20 dollars..... and theyve been doing it every time I go in there. Report them to dlara and better business bureau. Im literally gonna show you my receipt and the tags.... she didnt even charge me half on what was supposed to be half she doubled the whole amount. RUDE RUDE RUDE

I used to avoid this Value World because their prices were a bit high for me. But today I was happily surprised. It seems their prices have come down. : )

Great customer service. The street (11mile) is closed. Therefore you cannot park in the lot. You have to park in the back of the store. You are allowed to take carts out. Associates are there to retrieve them. The young man that helped me was very friendly along with the cashier.

I use to love this store but not anymore. I went here this morning to get some clothes for my kids. I spent over $100 and the cashier wouldn’t let me use my boyfriends debit card because the name didn’t match my I.D. On top of that, there were 2 other employees in the store that I saw, but neither one of them would open the other register to help with the line. One went outside to smoke and the other one was walking around on her phone. Me and two other women stood in line for a good 10-15 minutes while the one cashier moved as slow as possible. I will not be coming back to this store.

I am VERY disappointed that if you are disabled and in a wheelchair it hurts like mad to get into the store because of the entrance door and the exit door. I am very sore today for trying to get in yesterday to find some things I needed. I sure cant go there again, so sad 😢and hurting bad 😣😭

The staff certainly works hard, and thats appreciated. But I was just there recently and a man was shopping without a mask, walking about and going through the racks. I wont be returning anytime soon and Ill tell friends and family not to go to this store, as its not safe if mask rule is not enforced.Editing later: Thank you for the reply. They charge a lot higher here for brand goods: even if theyre falling apart and dingy. I did find a pair of brand new Ferragamo shoes here once for 25$ (normally 400$ plus) and some other great notable finds.The store is too overfilled. You cant browse the racks in the aisles because they put too much on it. Its very messy and you really have to be looking in order to find something.Their prices are too high generally for a thrift store. However, they send out a mailer about once every month or two for a coupon that gets you 50% off your purchase(if youre a local resident) : this is about the only time I would shop here.

I’ve been shopping at this location for well over 20 years. It is always clean and well organized. Yes, you have to dig, it’s a thrift store and that’s part of the fun. I always find remarkable items for great prices. My son is now hooked on this store, I can’t believe the incredible things he finds. All of the employees are extremely patient and kind. I read one review complaining that the employees get first dibs, I think that’s a perk they’d deserve and I’ve always find great things regardless.

Purchased a fake Tod’s handbag that was sold as authentic for 28.40. Thought I hit the jackpot until I got home and found the “Made in China” tag inside the bag 🤡I’m sure the owner of this establishment is aware that it’s illegal to sell counterfeits.

The prices here are 3 to 4 times as much as similar items at other Value World locations in the area. There is a lot of stuff there and quite a bit of variety, but the prices are like buying new items during a good sale. I was quite disappointed because we drove out of our way to come here because I usually find such good deals at Value World.

This is the best resale shop in all of metro Detroit. I have shopped at all their locations. The stores are bright and clean. Merchandise is very nice. All apparel is in fantastic condition. Today while shopping, I got 9 items of clothing for $25.00. Highly recommend Value World all the time.

Most clothing items are more than $6 and a lot of items price $10 and up. Unfortunately the same thing that happened with Salvation Army. No longer a value. The staff is not very friendly or helpful.

Clothes there are mediocre. Need to dig to find a quality item because the staff takes the good items before they go on the shelf. How do I know? I overheard a conversation between one of the staff members to another that they get first dibs and that she was doing her Christmas shopping on the items that were donated!After that, I picked up a cabinet that was on the floor, just to look at it, and was told that one of the staff members was already going to buy it. I had no idea! Take it off the floor then! Staff is extremely rude. The management there is a joke. I bet the manager is a hoarder knowing what they do now.

Racking up prices to make up for COVID down time .. remember all merchandise is donated and should be sold at 75% off retail .. but not this location .. well many locations dont follow the 75% rule but at least adhere to 50% off retail ..

Good price is good service

Pretty neat store, everything is organized, you find good clothes, shoes and sometimes furniture. Their prices have increased since the 50% coupons that come out periodically, I have seen workers going around marking up prices. But you can still bargain shop and find good deals on most items.

Nice clean well stocked store. Really nice people. Extra large or bigger sizes are hard to come by in the mens sizes.

Great place to pick up items that you dont care if theyre brand new, and dont want to pay an arm and a leg (brand new prices) for them. I bought 5 fitted sheets and one flat sheet for $27.45. Nice sheets too( great quality), just needed to be washed/sanitized.

My parents went there today. They are old. They can’t speak English. They picked a pair of shoes which they thought the price is 4.50$. When they checked out, the girl told them the shoes cost 45.00$. So my parent asked me to talk and explain to them, they made mistake. They didn’t want those shoes anymore and they not even pay them yet. The girl said they couldn’t return, we still at the store, not pay, not bring the stuff home yet. How could not do that? It had been 10 years I stayed in this country, I went to many places, I had never seen anyone do the business like Value World. We made the mistake, we don’t think we wanna return there anymore. What a cheap cheating to a customer like that! It’s not worth it.

Place has plenty of clothes to choose from with a very good price. Offer some 1/2 off specials throughout the year. Big selection of shoes as well. Helpful staff will assist in loading vehicle if needed

Been coming to this place for years dont live around here anymore but the best way to visit this store is on a weekly basis to not miss anything thats put out. Today all of the Isles were packed with clothes so packed that you could barely move from one to another so they do have a lot of clothes their prices are cheaper than Goodwill and they offer a monthly coupon in the local papers for 50% off I found some great finds over the years but obviously its a lot of hit and miss

Wonderful place to find lost treasures. Terrific surprises. Havent found the magic lamp with the genie yet, but teapots, jackets, lots of useful things.

Clean for a thrift store. It didnt have the usual smell of one. Good variety of everything from collectables to the usual and unusual you might not expect. My best friend was with me and bought, 3 pair of either never worn or gently warn shoes for her son that were all brand name like Nike, Polo and Another name brand that slips my mind. She also bought a Chicago bulls plaque that had 6 major players on it. One was worth over $50.00 when we looked it up! A large selection of books also.

It didnt have anything in my size or my brothers sizes. What a wasted trip.

Not a bad place to find pre-owned clothing for an affordable price. The staff isnt always the most helpful, and theres a distinctive smell as soon as you come through the door, but you can literally find something for everyone in the family from the youngest to the oldest.

I hate to complain about Value World because you can find just about anything you need, and I still love it, but when they have the half off coupons in March and April, I really am excited to use them just to start shopping and really notice that everything has been marked up almost double in price. On top of that I get there and theres a sign on the door saying that shoes arent included with that coupon anymore. Wow! Way to ruin a great thing. And why shoes? Oh I know. They write the prices on the bottom. Theyd have to scrub the cheaper price off for March and April and whatever other 50% off coupon months they may have or have a whole lot of scribbled out marks. Just stop the bull already. Use other ways to get people to start shopping there and by doing that youll also keep your usual customers. Everything is donated. Also like used wore out towels and such shouldnt be more than a dollar, but Ive seen them marked up to five bucks. Whoever is doing that, I say you arent right in the head. Dont you want to sell everything ? Im done venting. Thanks for reading.

One of my favourite VWs. Staff is always helpful and respectful. I did great toys here and kitchen items. It seems smaller than other locations so I rarely find clothes for me here. Clean as far as second hand goes

Great! The store was Organized and Clean. The Manager Ms.Cat was Professional, Courteous, Accomodating, Polite,Helpful. The polite young Man, Stock associates demonstrate the manager policy, offering additional information and knowledge regarding store policies and steps to resolve my concerns, in addition to accommodated me in returning items back to stock for me, I had no knowledge what racks I had pulled from and didnt want to leave a message out of order. The sales associates and cashier were also a reflection of the manager. Great first time visit I will return although its out of my area and I will recommend the store location to others

The store itself is in so much disarray..barely accessible, dirty, overcrowded with excess stock, higher prices than any other thrift store in the area. employees were careless about any of the stores issues.

Value world is usually organized and that helps alot. The negatives I have about them is #1...they dont have fitting rooms n you cant return clothes if they dont fit. #2...if you find something w/o a price n the pricing people are gone for the day, someone else there should be able to price it for you so you can get it.

I was accused of being seen by an employee, by the manager, who waited until I finished my transaction. I was accused of having torn off the tag and worn the trench coat I was wearing when I walked into the store, throughout the store as my own. I held the door for an elderly couple,as we entered the store. The gentleman actually complimented my coat.The manager told me never to come back in his store again or he would call the police.I saw the man, who I would later face during this accusation the moment I walked into the store wearing my trench coat. (A coat I purchased at Mother Fletchers in Ferndale nearly 5 years ago. My family and friends know exactly the coat Im speaking of, it was such a find & I live for it.)He was everywhere I was in the store the moment I walked in. My roommate and I were in such good spirits I really paid him no attention, other than to notice his outfit. Ill say no more on that subject.I was in such shock at his approaching me, accusing me & banning me from further entrance in his store (or the police will be called...for what im not sure...??!!) The only employee I noticed around me the entire I was there was him.I will never shop there again & I am calling Fox2 News and I am contacting the corporate office.
