I called for a same day inspection and the staff was amazing over the phone. When I arrived, I received excellent service and a comfortable place to sit, as well as TV and coffee. The inspection went extremely well and had an excellent price tag to boot. As a new MD resident, Cottman of Waldorf made an already difficult day just a little bit easier. I HIGHLY recommend!

Called about a bad lifter, explained to thw mechanic the problem and he agreed, said I had a warranty to cover most of it, he goes on to tell me their not gonna cover it so your wasting your time so no point to bring it in unless you have the cash to have it fixed. Wanted to charge an outrageous price as well. Took it somewhere else and warranty did cover what I needed it to cover. Glad I didnt take it here.

I went to this shop To have my transfer case looked at I spoke with bill he seemed very courteous, but after my inspection he didnt seem so honest I probably would not use this shop again and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone I dont feel like theyre trustworthy

Called on a Friday morning to check their availability for a state inspection on my new vehicle. Spoke with Fred who told me to just bring the car in, which I did about 30 minutes later. I had called around to many other establishments the previous day seeking to secure an appointment, to no avail. If you need a same day inspection, I’d say look no further than Cottman of Waldorf! I was in and out in all of 40 minutes! Reasonably priced, in and out service and a customized bottle of hand sanitizer as a thanks!

I went to several shops that told me they had a backlog and they wouldn’t be able to check my car. Cottman was busy also but they took time to check my car and was able to fit me in. My car was ready the next morning.

Brought my new car in for my state inspection. They were done within like 45 minutes. Had to remove tint and come back, inspector was professional and quick.

I had a great deal of work done here at Cottman, after being quoted an absurd price from another shop. The tech was really nice and the Mgr, Bill. They walked me through the process of what I needed on my car, made recommendations and got the work started and finished in less than 2 days without killing my pockets. Great company. I had a hefty bill but everything was done. The gentleman behind the desk were patient and helpful.4/9/21 Here is the latest update from my experience. I took my van back to Cottman to get a MD inspection. Guess what, yep, it fail. Just 30 plus days from getting my van totally fixed and looked over throughly with a hefty bill. The item that failed was one that they replaced. So, now here comes the blame game. Ma’am you must have gotten an alignment because they busted your rack and pinion cover ( don’t remember the correct name) No, sir I didn’t. No one has touched my van. After I got my van back the second time and it did pass inspection, however, the van rides really bad and it pulling to one side, making a weird sound on the passenger side. I’m taking it back and see what they say. I’ll keep you posted.So, here are the results. The gentleman behind the counter didn’t make me feel liked I was valued or aim to listen, but let’s move on. I was able to show proof of an alignment that was performed on my van before they did the work. So, my issue is let’s figure out if it could be something else. Well according to them it’s nothing else, “Somebody did an alignment on your van after the work was done.”Brad, the head mechanic took my van and fixed the problems. It still has a knocking sound (which wasn’t there before) but he told to to drive it some more and come back to see him.Ask for Brad, if you want work done to your vehicle with love. He took care of me and he listened.I think any company is a good company unless a problem occurs or adversity. How well do companies handle disagree or misunderstandings. That’s the real test of customer service. You decide.

I needed to get my vehicle inspected for new tags and all that with the MVA, but it was hard for me to come during the day because I’m a nurse and work full time. They let me come in at 7:30am and they were pretty quick. The waiting room was nice and spacious, and even had a coffee maker. I will definitely take my other vehicle back there and recommend this business to friends.

I went there to follow up on a Evap leak, it took longer than I had expected (with my impatient self). But the people at the front desk where very nice.

They provided excellent service! I thought I had a minor issue with my car’s motor. They did a thorough diagnostic and test drive. They was completely honest with results and what to do next. Let me just share how honest they were! Ends up I needed a new motor and since they couldn’t find a good one that’ll be worth fixing. I was able to pick my car up with no additional charges other than diagnostic fee. This is by far the best mechanical shop experience I ever had.

I just moved here VA and went there for a safety inspection. I’m a black woman I have a E350 Benz in excellent condition that passed every year in VA and they failed me for a pinhole rock mark on my windshield that had been repaired by Safelight! I’m sure Becky would have passed.

Something fishy about their state inspection guy. Second car I took to them for state inspection and both times they failed it for a leaky shock. The thing is Im a mechanic too so I make sure Im right before I go and both vehicles failed for the same thing and, location. My first vehicle I took to another. Shop (Wygul) and they didnt say anything and my shocks. My second car only has 35k miles and rairly driven but on weekends and again it fails for the same thing, same shock location. I feel like no matter how good condition your vehicle in, hell find a something minor to fail it in hopes to get a extra buck in repairs. On a good note they always seem to have time for my car the day of.

I like the way they broke down in simple terms what was wrong with my vehicle and what was needed to get fixed. And, the best part I feel like I was not overcharged based on their findings.

Maryland State Inspection. Affordable and professional.

I went to Cottman Transmission because I was referred there. Also another business did bad work on my truck which put my familys safety at risk. Cottman identified that the gear selection cable for my trans was connected by wire (jimmy rigged) and the other shop even put the wrong dip stick in my truck which caused me to over fill my truck with Transmission fluid by two quarts. I am very grateful that Cottman Transmission is a honest and reputable business and they care about their customers.

Im going to try to keep this short! I havent been here since 2011 when they fixed my transmission which was awesome. Now last fast forward to Tuesday Feb. 25, 2020. I had a leak in my coolant tank Ive been getting the run around with my dealership for about a month. After my car had a major incident I got up and took it to Cottman (no appointment). They quoted me 30 minutes until they were able to check my car out. By the time I made my coffee they had already looked at my car. They not only fixed in an 1 hour and 30 like the quoted the price was way cheaper than the dealership and I was so excited. I will definitely be back for any issues I have after this experience! Had my car dropped off on a Thursday after the transmission light came on and then turned off. They got to it over the weekend and got back to me on a Monday. Wasn’t able to find the issue but none the less they were very professional and ran several checks to make sure the car was safe.

Initially given MD State Inspection, in which I failed. There was some confusion about the reason for the failed inspection; which could have resulted in very costly repairs, had I not questioned the inspector’s report. Nonetheless, Cottman resolved the inspection issue, performed the reasonably priced repairs needed, and re-inspected my vehicle all within a timely fashion. Overall, the experience ended up being remarkably pleasant and professional.

I went to Cottman for a MD Safety Inspection. Their price was excellent. They also got to me quickly, had a clean comfortable waiting room and finished the inspection pretty fast.The inspector found two minor things hat needed to be addressed for the car to pass inspection. The first was that the rear seatbelt wasn’t visible. Even though they told me it was probably just stuck down between the seats he marked it as failed. He could have simply reached in the seat to find it or called me to reach and find it. I pulled it out in less than 10 seconds. The second issue was two bulbs that needed to be replaced. Even though they have a service where I could have paid to have them replace the bulbs they just failed the car. After they took my money and then told me the small reasons why it failed I asked if they offered that minor repair service and they offered me a price. I left not wanting to then or ever again give them another dime.

My experience with Cottman Transmission was exceptional. The staff was very professional, they were committed to identifying the issues I had with my car. Even though the face an all is well, they conducted multiply checks and rechecks to ensure they were not over looking an issue. Despite the systems check not displaying in message error codes they still persisted in trying to replicate the description if problems I was having. I found Cottman Transmission to display high quality, integrity and honesty. I would not hesitate to return to their service center if I ever have trouble with my Transmission.

Needed a state inspection late in the day and they were able to squeeze me in last minute so I could finish my tag and title done that day. Very friendly and knowledgable, decent waiting room and fast service. Highly recommended and I will be using them in the future!

My car fell ill, I took it to Cottman for healing they took me in with no appointment and I was called sooner than later with the news I could now come and pick up my vehicle child. Unfortunately my finances took a turn for the worse temporarily. The staff there showed consideration and empathy with my situation and worked out a payment plan with me. I don’t know if they are aware of how much this one jester helped out my family. Car repairs can be expensive at Cottman I didn’t feel as though I was taken advantage of nor did I feel like just another customer. I would recommend this shop to any and all. Overall Great service. Took my 96 Ford F150 which I am in the process of restoring to cottman due to on going transmission issues the Cotman team told me the transmission needed to be completely rebuilt which they did in 3 days at a very reasonable price and with excellent outcome Would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a reliable honest repair facility

Wow! So helpful. It was raining and I had a baby in the car when I searched the internet for emergency assistance. They listened and explained what the problem was and what they would do. Repairs after MD Inspection

I was originally told by another shop my repair to my truck oil pressure light warning would cost about $1800.00 and 1 week to repair, however Cottman’s diagnosis and repair of the problem saved me $1400.00 with same day service. A trustworthy and reliable repair shop.
