Nice store with many items. Salesman was great. Thats where it stops.Manager on duty, not sure of name, was so freaking arrogant and dismissive it was incredible. Almost walked out on a 1k sale and dont think he even cared.Like I said, decent store, but really hard to find and set way back. Kinda a poor location but was very convenient to my home. Would love to continue to buy from Tar River Arms store but unfortunately I will not. I will continue to go to Carolina gun runners. At least they seem to care about people and their prices are as good if not better.

They have very competitive pricing here, you can usually find a better deal compared to other gun shops that are price gouging a bit. (update most of their prices are about the same as other stores lately but you get way better customer involvement and knowledgeable discussions here). The owner took a great approach to this store. The staff is excellent, its definitely the best customer service Ive experienced at any gun store. They are very personable, knowledgeable and patient with their customers and are happy to show you their products. If you have any questions they are glad to answer and it has all the components that make it a top shelf gun store. Ive been to plenty of other gun stores that might have nice atmosphere and have a lot of good products but still feels like something is missing. Their fantastic customer interaction, honesty and exuberance adds that extra element along with reasonable pricing to deliver a shopping experience that exceeds expectations consistently.

Awesome group of people here. I loved the shop. They have a lot of quality firearms, they were very informative and helpful. Was greeted immediately by Caroline. She was very knowledgeable and showed me everything I was looking for. Prices are a little high but reasonable but the trade off is the personal attention you receive here. If youre using Google maps it may try to take you across the street instead of the shop. The shop is located in the same building the red brick animal hospital is in. Check it out if youre in the area. Highly recommend.

Our go-to firearm store. My wife and I have bought both our handguns here, along with a few accessories. Employees here are super friendly, and really go the extra mile with explaining answers to your questions. David and Josh are your guys. We don’t go anywhere else.

I have been to TRA several times, the staff is always very helpful. Finally there is a gun shop with in a few minutes drive of where I live. my only complaint is that the inventory of 9mm pistols was not that great the last time I was in store.

Checked out this place the other day. They were quite friendly when I came in. I looked around a bit. Didn’t have a huge selection at the moment but nothing to do with them it’s like that everywhere currently. The most interesting thing there is they have a laser engraver and they don’t just do firearms with it too.

Great selection, semi-competitive prices, staff with a great attitude but they BROKE a pair of my Trijicon XR HD Nights sights which can be pricey. The sights broke off while they were installing them on a new FN 509 I just purchased a few days before. They offered to replace them and drafted me some paperwork for the matter, all in all it could be over looked but make sure your possessions are handled with care by them.

Made my first visit and a great purchase this week at TRA. I have know Kurt and his family for years and am so happy to see Kurt finally living his dream! The shop is very well staffed (Hi Herbie!) with competent and pleasant folks. They have an ever changing selection of quality products at competitive prices. If you go there (and you should) they are in back of the veterinary clinic on the lower level ... take the drive on the left and down the hill. Enjoy!

Bought a Glock 21 from these guys and they were really great at walking through all of the pros/cons of the various handguns they had in stock. They also threw a new pair of sights on for me at pretty short notice, which was much appreciated!Ill definitely be coming back for any future local firearm purchases.

Awesome staff! Everything is laidback and so chill. They have spare parts for a lot of things such as bolts, triggers, firing pins etc. they also have locally made knives and other things. Loved the experience

I live in Wake Forest and saw Tar River Arms had a new store. I brought my wife in there as she’s been looking for her first pistol. The staff was wonderful. They were friendly, informative, and sensitive to a new shooter with smaller hands. We have been to a couple of shops and ranges, to look around and to let her get comfortable with different pistols. Tar River Arms was the best experience. We have been back a couple of times, all with the same experience. I recently made a purchase for myself and that experience was just as comfortable, and professional. Their prices are competitive, and their stock was a good mix of new pistols and rifles, with some used items, and accessories. I look forward to my next purchase from them.

I saw a firearm Tar River had for sale listed on armslist. I contacted them via e-mail that night, and I had a response the next morning complete with a picture of the firearm on their shelf.I called them later in the afternoon, and I worked with Josh over the phone to secure a payment. He answered all my questions and even bumped me up to expedited shipping.The whole process was extremely pleasant and easy. At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, I decided to get my wife a CC pistol of her own and to her liking being that she already possessed a CCW permit. The staff member, David, graciously gave us his undivided attention for what lasted 90 minutes of examining numerous pistols before finalizing our decision. The only con is they are right around the corner from me so they are taking all my money.

Guys did a great job listening to what I was looking for in a pistol. I though I’d like a Glock 19, they showed me that and also a CZ p10c. The CZ was cheaper and felt better in hand, so I got it. Having shot it with friends, everyone said it is a great gun. Glad I came here instead of a box store, way better experience.

Got a chance to visit their store today and it was a breath of fresh air. Their selection of firearms is absolutely second to none when it comes to QUALITY. Their service was outstanding and their negotiating and pricing absolutely FAIR! They’re a smaller place but mighty, consider giving them a visit and supporting local shops like this.

Tar River Arms and the owner Kurt were fantastic. The only problem I experienced was that the initial gun I wanted & drew me to their site was no longer available even though their website said they had one left. Kurt was able to suggest a couple of alternatives and I felt comfortable enough that I ended up buying three firearms from him that weekend. He was fair with pricing and worked with me on shipping. He stands behind what he sells and I will reach out to him again for my next purchase...that truly says he is a stand-up dealer, otherwise I would not go back. Thank you, Kurt!!

Cant say enough about the integrity of owner Kurt. After an initial visit to their new location in Wake Forest I was given the wrong price by an employee on a used rifle. When I went back a couple of days later to buy it Kurt told me that that the price I was given was his cost, but in the spirit of fairness he decided to honor it and sold it to me at that price.The store is clean and well stocked with fair prices and I highly recommend a visit.

I first learned about TRA guns from Mojo50 Radio. It was SO SIMPLE. At noon, ordered by arms online from home, at 3:30 I was on location picking them up with absolutely no hassle. Quick effective, great deals, wonderfully efficient service.

I ordered a Pistol 2 weeks before my Wifes Birthday party on the 6th of November 2021 hoping to surprise her. Her birthday came and went and is still not in yet. Its now November 10th. Called Tar River Arms 4 times between last week and this week and no pistol yet. Well call you when it comes in is all I got. Also, in order to cancel this order, I have already paid for, there is a 25% re-stocking fee. This is not a good first experience with this establishment. I will not buy my weapons at Tar River Arms ever again.

I really wanted to like this place and support local. I really enjoy talking to the staff here but I feel super jaded by this company. I purchased a firearm from them 3 months ago for $1,300. I went to trade it in to purchase something else and they offered me $520 for it. Less than 50rds through the gun, still have the Original boxing, no scuffs or damage on the firearm and not even 50% of MSRP? I buy on average 7-10 firearms a year and I hate to say that no more of them will be through Tar River Arms. Ive purchased guns, cleaning equipment, and parts through here and I do not feel the loyalty is being returned.
